Hi everyone. I'm feeling better today although I've still been laying low. Didn't go to church or anything.

I'm going to the American College of Physicians annual meeting in a few weeks in Philly and they decided this year that they want to go as close to paperless as possible so you can go online and print out your handouts in advance. A bunch of mine aren't available yet but a couple of them got me pretty excited. I was looking at this handout on lipid disorders and you won't believe this. They actually spell out right at the top the Lifestyle and Dietary Changes what the current recommendations are and I quote: "Partial substitution of protein or monounsatuated [fats] for carbohydrates further reduces blood pressure, improves lipids and reduces estimated cardiovascular risk." Can you believe it? We have finally woken up and are going to stop recommending that people continue to stuff themselves with carbs!!! I'm planning to attend several lectures on obesity and it's related disorders so I may come back with all kinds of great information. I've already printed out one handout on obesity in adolescents and it looks great.

Hi everyone!

Petra I hope you're feeling better soon!

I've been so hungry today. It must be because I've been high on carbs. I started the morning with oatmeal instead of my usual eggbeaters.

Curly congrats on the jeans!! That must be a really great feeling! One of these days I'm going to buy some clothes in an actual size as opposed to the 3X I've been wearing for over 10 years!

I had my weekly weigh in today and I was down a pound!

Valerie....YOU GO GIRL!!! Boy oh boy...you sure are a consistent loser!!! I would think by now you're pants would be falling off!!!

Curly......Well?...Did you?

We're bracing ourselves for a Spring Winter storm!! Can't believe it, its coming tonight and 3-5 inches worth. Ds came home from his first day back from March Break, and said....its going to be a snow day tommorow!! geeesh! Lucky for me, I have lots of milk and basics...just in case, but unfortunately I have my annual physical tommorow at 9am (bright and early!!) I don't worry about MY driving, its all the other idiots who don't know how to drive in snow that worry me!! hehe....with over 15 years of Canadian winter driving....I think I'll be fine.
