Hey everybody  Has it ever been a bizzy week! Sheesh. I'm getting too old for this.
I have been Off Program since last week. I "plan" on getting back on track Thursday morning, which is my normal "get back on program day" but we shall see. Yes I have pics - here is the link to them - http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kinkyp.../ph//my_photos Enjoy! |
Godness Gracious.. this thread has gotten so popular if you miss one day you fall behind.. and more than that is an uh-oh.. I'm so sorry that I havent been on in soo long
things here are pretty hectic.. we had our house built and moved in on January 20,2005.. we had some family emergencies come up, so we are now just having our housewarming party that my sister was "supposedly" going to throw for us, but it seems as if we are pretty much throwing it for ourselves.. (This is a Huge pain in my butt).. I'm not into crowds so I'm dreading Sunday.. well I'm going to respond to the threads I missed one by one, so each person might have more that one reply.. please bear with me I've had a hectic couple of days.. ClipClop: Yumm.. I love Bar-b-q... and since I live in Texas it's a huge food staple.. :queen: Lisa WY: wow.. that is awesome!!! 6.5 lbs.. I am very very very proud of you.. keep up the great work..:queen: Hotcupojava: I really did enjoy my cheat day.. I had 2 hamburger patties for breakfast, bean and cheese nachos for lunch, peanuts, steak and shrimp with a baked potato for dinner, and a chocolate strawberry banana shake for dessert.. I think I ate enough junk for everyone.. but I got back on track Sunday.. I'm sorry to hear that you we're feeling down as you were writing in your journal.. but don't fret.. we all believe in you and we know you can do it.. :queen: momX3: I'm so proud of you for doing so well at the parties.. we all know how hard it is when people keep putting bad stuff in front of your face.. :queen: ClipClop: don't feel bad about the bar-b-q.. if you want to eat something that bad, you have to.. cause if you deprive yourself of what you really want you'll probably end up giving up.. you are doing so well.. I am very proud of you.:queen: angel-eyes: oh geez.. men!!!.. but what can you do?? :queen: Lisa WY: my sister is the same way.. we have to tell her that the time of the party is an hour earlier than it really is.. and sometimes she's still late.. ha ha.. :queen: petra65: I used to be big in low carb-ing.. many people have different opinions on different diets, but i say if it works for you and it makes you feel better.. then go for it.. I support you % 110.. and don't be afraid of sharing what you learn on low carb-ing you can talk about it all you want.. we are here to help each other, not to critisize.. :queen: jennie934: Awesome job!!! 2.2lbs.. wonderful.. you go girl!! :queen: ~~Sunshine~~: wow.. 26 lbs.. that is a huge accomplishment.. just imagine carrying a 20 lb bag of dry dog food.. that is very very impressive.. keep up the great work.. :queen: AnnieRN: WELCOME!!.. so glad to have you hear.. the people on this board are the BEST.. make yourself at home.. I'm doing low fat low cal as well.. for the same reasons ( I can still have what I want to eat, I just have to measure it and make sure I don't go over my totals.. 30 grams of fat and 1600 calories.. ) if you want to share anything or need any advice.. I'm here.. ..:queen: momX2: glad to hear you are feeling better.. I read somewhere that bananas are good to eat at night, because they are heavy and they fill you up.. :queen: petra65: I'm glad to hear that Protein Power is going well.. keep up the great work:queen: momX3: awwww.. you're kids are lovely.. just absolute dolls.. I bet it's hard to tell them "no" sometimes.. ha ha:queen: ClipClop: yay!!!! 6.1 lbs.. that is awesome!!.. you go girl.. we knew you could do it.. keep it up.. :queen: kcaly61: awww he is gorgeous.. well worth the wait.. congrats again.. give him a kiss on the head for me.. :queen: well ladies.. once again, it is way passed my bed time.. I've been real busy, but I've been sticking to my diet.. I feel bad because I havent had time to exercise but I'm still staying under my totals.. my weigh in is in a couple of hours.. and I'm kinda anxious and nervous at the same time.. I will let you know how it goes.. I hope you all have a great evening.. and I will talk to you tomorrow.. P.S. you are all Pic Chic Divas :queen: of the day..!!! keep up the great work.. |
Good Morning... just thought I'd share my results with you... I lost 12 pounds.. woooo whoooo... well.. I have to get ready for work.. (blah)... I'll talk to you later..
p.s. thank you soo much for all your support.. I don't think I couldv'e done this without all of you.. |
Howdy Everyone!!!
had a busy day yesterday too! DIdn't get home until after 6 and still had to do the dinner thing. My biggest challenge with WW is getting in enough food. LOL I am close to 2 points lower so I do that but even with "cheating" a little on the number of points I came up short again. I feel like I am eating more food than before but it is a better food choice. I am having no problem getting my water in. Deerod: I don't like big crowds either. I would rather not host family get togethers but our house is a little bigger and we have a fenced in yard. My sis in law lives out on the prarie and she will share hosting duties but the kids don't like playing at their house..too much open space. Good Luck today on your weigh in and hopefully you will be a big loser!! Kclay: Just jump back on program. LIke a horse, you get thrown off, but you gotta get back on. The pictures are great! Clipclop: AWESOME job!!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mox3: Beautiful kids!! Mallissa has her own website. The link is www.princessmallissa.com You can check us all out on there. LOL I haven't updated since December. Petra: Good luck on your new program and keep us updated on how it works. Annie: Welcome, I sent you a message on the newbie board, I am glad you found us!! I am doing Weight Watchers and love it. You don't have to deny yourself what you want to eat you just have to figure it in. You also have to increase your activity. I like the accountablity of going to the meetings. If I am paying for something, I will do better. Sunshine: Great job and wow on the 26lbs. It feels great doesn't it!!! Angel: If you have all that energy and want to clean...my house needs it. I don't know why I clean before I have company. My house is trashed right now. The kids got chips on the floor and there are times I wished I had a dog. LOL I picked up the big messes but now need to refine the cleaning. I still haven't figured out how to get a certain 5 year old to get on track and at least leave a walk way between her door and the bed...that is all I ask. LOL Anyone I missed..sorry..I am running out of time this morning. LOL On my way to work. Today is a nothing day...we have nothing after school..so I am making dinner. If dh doesn't get on the wagon and do some laundry there might be fireworks tonight. LOL Everyone have a great day!! Lisa Wyoming |
:D Good Day Everyone:
It is a crazy busy week so far. I am so sorry I have not had time to get all caught up. CONGRATS to my friends who were losers, my friends who were maintainers, and my friends who are sticking with their plan. You are all doing awesome. Lifes trials and tribulations sure have thrown us all some curve balls, but glad we are all hanging in there 2gether!! ;) I AM SO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU!!! Also, welcome to Annie...Glad you found us. I am in cubicle food prison uggh.. I work in medical transcription (11 years with the same company) in a cubefarm. Anywhoo...It is national medical transcription week which apparently converts to daily endless tables of sweets and treats, and treat baggies, and candy all over my desk, and donuts, and danish, and coffee cake, and chex mix. It has been a  of a week so far. But I passed up the donuts and bagels on my way to get ice for my water from the freezer, gave my candy and treat bag from my desk to my neighbor who is thin as a rail and could use some 'junk in her trunk.' So far....I am okay :( but it is HARD. I haven't touched anything except a 1x1 inch square of danish (which I measured with a ruler). I figured just have a small bite and be done with it. Then I did 2 flights of stairs and back just because I felt so guilty. Thank you for :listen: I have no idea what I would do without you. Hugs to all TTYS. :grouphug: |
Hi Everyone, Good morning,
OK, morining, I wasn't able to excersie yesterday so I got up early this morning and did my step. My son is with me at work today, he has off for election day. I still havn't found time to fit my pedicure in. I worked so hard to lose the weight and now I can't find the time to get my reward. ohwell....at least I did it. deerod, great loss. you must feel so good! It paid off not steping on the scale. such a big success!! I know you ussually do this but I'd say you are the PIC diva of the day! Lisa, some times I feel that way to about the points. If you make all the right choices it takes a lot to eat all of that but make one wrong choice and your points are go. its a good feeling though when you have stay on track. keep up the good work. kclay, we all get off program once it a while, just bruch it off and get back on. Moonray, I love jicima in things at restraunts, I've never vetured into buying it at the store. how does it look? I'll have to try and get some Clip Clop, 6.1 go head! that is so excelent! keep it up. you and deerod are my inspiration for the week. Petra, how is the protein power? is it like SBD? keep up the good work. Annie, welcome, I feel like you do, this is a problem we can fix and there is lots of support here to help us do it! If I missed anyone, I'm sorry, I gotta get back to work....I'll check in later, can't wait to see how everyone is doing today. ;) Jennie |
Annie, Your post on the Buddy Up forum.
""Ah, today's a bad day for me. Perhaps I should go for a walk and let myself calm down. I've only just begun this journey and it's not starting out too well. Under a bit of personal stress, as well. *takes deep breath*""
Annie, Stress is a big factor for most of us to get at the weight we are at now. Now you have to use the stress for good. Right now I am stressing and obsessing over losing weight. Probably not anymore healthy. LOL Right now you are probably feeling overwhelmed. If I look at the big picture, I am too. I take it into smaller steps. I have 108lbs to lose. My first goal is the 8lbs. Then I will look at it in 25lbs segments. Easier that way. Don't get caught up in the numbers..think about how much better you feel. When I went to the doctor 3 weeks ago and was so sick it gave me a wake up call. Not a bad thing. I worry a lot about my health especially my kidneys. My sister had her kidney taken out last year becuase of cancer. It was a horrible surgery. When I went to doctor for the kidney infection I thought in my mind it would happen to me too. I also have diabetes in my family and I am scared of that too. I do have PCOS. I know I have to work harder to lose weight but it is not impossible. These are some of the things I am doing different this week than I did 2 weeks ago. I have drank gallons of water. I do let myself drink pop twice a day if I want it, the last few days, I haven't wanted it. The old me would of picked up a Mt. Dew and not think twice. Now I am drinking water and a few diet pops. The old me would of went to the grocery store and bought tons of junk food. The new me enjoyed going to the grocery store and seeing what new things I could eat. The old me would of ran by McDonald's this morning because Mallissa and I were running late. The new me took the time out for breakfast for both of us. A little while ago when I went to the post office I would of circled the block to find parking in front. Today is a 60/60 day (our temps are 60 but our wind is 60) and I would of wanted to park out front. Today, I was hoping I could find a space on the next block to walk to get the mail. I also might of went by a fast food place on my way back to work for a snack. The new me knows I have some yummy rice cakes on the counter. You are not going to change overnight. None of us are. We only can try our best everyday and change our way of thinking to be sucessful. None of us are going to go from not being active to running a marathon. ALthough my goal by the end of the summer is to walk in our last fund raiser before Fall. Consentrate on what is good right now. Hugs, lisa |
Hello everyone!!.. having some down time at work so I thought I would check in.. I'm just so stoked that I've lost 12 lbs.. I know it seems slow, but I don't feel deprived and I'm not wanting to give up.. my husband mentioned to me on sunday that maybe we should put our diets on hold until after the housewarming party.. and I must be honest and tell you that I did consider it.. but when monday came along.. I could'nt make myself cheat.. I wanted a taco so bad, but I had my pic angel on my shoulder telling me..:nono: no no no .. you can have a taco on sunday.. ha ha.. I feel guilty that I Havent had the time to excersize, but that is something that I will start up again after the housewarming party.. and I've also decided that in 2 weeks... I'm going to cut down on refined carbs... since I've been eating low fat, i've been eating a ton of pasta and sugar, and i think it might be slowing me down a bit.. I plan to eat a ton of veggies and fruits.. and sugarfree stuff.. and I'm turning my cheat day into a cheat meal.. I'm waiting 2 weeks to completly get into this because our housewarming party is this Sunday.. my b-day is Monday.. and my nephews 2nd b-day is next Saturday.. and that way I can make a slow transition if I take things out little by little...
looking2loose: good job on avoiding the sweet drugs.. that takes alot of willpower.. jennie934: sorry you havent found time to get your pedicure done.. maybe this weekend? and yes.. I feel good about my loss.. honestly I was hoping for a little more (who doesnt) but at least I got into the 250's.. and thanks for crowning me.. it means alot to me. lisa WY: wow!!! .. that reply you gave to Annie brought tears to my eyes.. very motivational .. I am very proud of you and all the decisions you've made.. and I totally agree that alot of us get caught up in the numbers, and thats one of the main reasons I decided to only weigh once a month.. you keep up with all the great work you are doing.. and with that attitude.. I know you will reach your goal.. I'll check in with you all later.. |
Lisa - Laughed so hard about having a dog to clean up the messes because that is what we do. We have a rottweiler and when the baby is eating we let him outside. When she is done we say "bring in the vaccuum" and he cleans it all up. Oh and I'm loving the new you ;). What an inspiration to us all. Keep it up. Mallissa is beautiful by the way!!!
Jennie - good job on doing the step today and don't worry your reward will be there when you are ready :). looking2lose - I'm so proud of you for not giving in to temptation. That is the hardest especially when everyone else is having it. You just want to smack them :s: but you are holding strong. Great Job!! Dee - Girl I don't even know how to express how happy I am for you. You have been so strong :strong:. 12 pounds WOW!!!!!!! :encore: :encore: Clipclop - Congrats on your first weigh in :goodscale 6.1 pounds. I knew you could do it :cb: :cb:. Keep up the good work!! kclay - what a beautiful baby :bb:. You must be so proud . Thanks for sharing him with us. Have a great day ladies. |
Howdy Partners !!
I stopped to have my lunch, so thought I would take a minute to get caught up with the day's events. I have school tonight, so won't get a chance later. Today is a weird day.. I am totally sticking to my points, but feel like I want something different. I get into food ruts where I eat the same thing day in and day out. I really need to toss things up a bit !! KCLAY ~ hope all is well with you ! Your grandson is beautiful  DEEROD ~ Great Job !! You have been so dedicated and have kicked 12 lbs to the curb  LISA ~ I am with you on not getting enough food in on WW. I think I just need to plan better. I eat breaky at home and pack a lunch, but then I get home and eat dinner and find I have points left, and I don't feel like eating too much right before bed. Maybe I need to bring more snacks to work... LOOKING2LOSE ~ more and more I think we work in the same place !! Right now there is a box of chocolates and a pick pack of peppermint patties on our common table. For some reason if someone wants chocolate they decide to bring some for everyone... they are driving me crazy :dizzy: I have managed to stay away from it, so am happy about that, but just wish it would disappear. JENNIE ~ you will find the time to get your pedicure.. and will love it ! I don't know about you, but I always find time for everything else, except myself. I have been working on a list of rewards for myself.. that are not food related.. some suggestions.. a new CD, books, flowers, new PJs (i live in my pj's when at home), haircut, a day on the couch with a few movies.. You will think of something ! MOMX3 ~ hope you are having a great day ! Thanks to all of you for your congrats on my loss.. you are a great group of women.. very inspirational, motivating and supportive. I am glad to have found you all !! :o Have a great day and TTYS. |
Hi PIC Chicks
Sorry I've been MIA too. Worked a lot of hours on my days off. I guess I shouldn't complain, they've not given me much OT lately. I can always use the extra bucks.
My weigh in on Monday was great! I lost 5.25 pounds. I guess the unfair gain of last week and the two weeks of working very hard finally caught up to me.They asked me what I did to be this week's best loser. I said I did the exact same thing I did last week that resulted in a 2.5 gain! But at least now I'm glad I splurged and bought myself a pair of expensive tennis shoes. I'm so cheap, such a tight wad. It was only $40.00 bucks, but you could hear my wallet creak when I plopped that money down. Awesome looking silver Nike Air shoes, though. And after I got a nice loss, I feel like I deserved them. A welcome to AnnieRN. Kclay61~ your grandson is GORGEOUS. I also saw some great looking kids on MomX3's profile. I know there are a bunch of you I've missed, but now that this over time is OVER and as soon as I get my house work caught back up, I'll be back full force. I hope you all are doing great. I LOVE THIS SITE AND THIS THREAD ! |
WOW! This thread is busy!! First, I wanted to thank everyone who welcomed me to this support group. :D
Petra Momx3 Clipclop Deerod Lisa Looking2lose Jennie Thank you all for your wonderful words of encourgement! I never realized how having this much support would really motivate me to keep going. Today so far has been a great day. I've kept my calorie count low. I'm going to start tracking my calories on Fitday, just to see where I'm at. I did exercise today and yesterday (Walk Away The Pounds- 1 mile). It's only been 2 days, and it's tough, tough, tough to get up and start exercising, but I am going to promise myself to do this and take accountability for myself to change. I do have a few questions if anyone wants to lend their 2cents. 1) I never drank water (drank about 70 oz for the past 3 days) and all I find myself doing is going to the bathroom! :o Does this let up? LOL 2) I weighed myself this morning on my "home" scale and it's a whopping 17 lbs. lower than what the scale at my doctor's offce said last Friday. Now, I only go to the doc's office every 3 months. What would be the best way to weigh myself and keep track of my pounds lost? Shall I just use my home scale as a way to do this, even though I know it's incorrect? I really do hope to get to know everyone here. I wish I had the time to just go back to page 1 of this thread and read everything, but there are a bazillon pages! LOL And for all of you out there who've lost weight! Congrats. Hope I can join in on that statistic someday! :) |
There have been some impressive losers on this thread! We seem to have some highly motivated ladies! You are all an inspiration. I also enjoyed all the pictures. Everyone's "babies" are beautiful. What a great group we have here.
This is going to be a very stressful week for me. I am going away next week and I think all 2000 of my patients want to be seen before I leave (I'm exaggerating a little) but it seems that way. You'd think I was going to be away for a month. I'll be exhausted by the time I get on that plane on Saturday. I'm also really nervous about this trip because it will be the first time since I start low carbing that I won't be in control of my food. I have some trail mix that I make with nuts and seeds that I can take and I found some shakes at GNC that I might be able to pack but I am going to have to make good choices eating out. I figure I can probably find eggs every morning for breakfast and a decent piece of meat or fish every night but lunch has me worried. Salads are probably the best option. Someone asked about jicama. Jicama is a tuber like a potato. It is actually one of the lower carb vegetables and I recently made a recipe which included it. It tastes kind of like a cross between a potato and an apple. It is a large round brown vegetable that looks kind of like a big tulip bulb. In our grocery stores it is either near the other things that are grown underground like pototoes and onions or if there is a hispanic section it might be there. It is used a lot in hispanic cuisine. In fact, that was the type of recipe I used it in. Jennie--Protein Power is actually more like Atkins than South Beach. My problems with Atkins is that it is really focused more on weight loss and not on good nutrition or health. There were no minimum nutritional requirements-just a carb restriction. And as I mentioned, you aren't very hungry on low carb so I had days on Atkins where I had trouble getting over 1000 calories which can't be good. In fact, it might be why I was having trouble losing. Anyway, Protein power has a carb restriction of 30-40 net carbs per day but also has a minimum protein requirement based on your "lean body mass". They also recommend a lot of fiber so you end up choosing your carbs wisely. There are some other nuances to the program but that's the basics. There is more of an emphasis on nutrition and you can't starve yourself even "accidentally". Hope that answers your questions. |
WOW :bravo: we keep loosing weight left and right :cheer:
AnnieRN- Check if your scale is accurate and what the difference is between what you wear to your doc's office and at home when you weigh yourself you know like belt, shoes, etc. I'm going just by what the doctors scale says (for now) MoonRay |
hello ladies.. how is everyone?? I'm good.. very tired.. but good..
momX3 & Lisa: I have 2 chihuahuas.. I think I can use them as hand held vacs.. what do ya think?? ha ha lol.. momX3: thanks for the compliments.. it means soo much to me.. this is the strongest I've ever been on a diet, and I can hardly believe that it's already been a month.. my hubby and I we're talking in the car and he was asking me where I wanted to go for my b-day.. I decided that this little Roadhouse called Logans would be great.. (I love crispy foods) and they serve "chips" with your meals.. but they aren't chip chips.. they are like overly cooked fries.. and I loooooooovvvvveeeee them.. and then I was thinking.. woah.. wait a minute.. when was the last time I had french fries.. and you know what.. I can't remember.. It must have been at least a month ago even including cheat days.. and then I was like.. whoa.. i never even missed them.. I guess it is really true that you have to set your mind before you set your diet.. clipclop: good job on sticking with your points.. and I would suggest getting some new foods in there.. repetition causes bordem.. bordem causes snacking.. so lets not get bored.. and thanks for the dancing marshmallow man.. hopefully I wont look like that too much longer.. ha ha ha.. lol.. hotcupojava: 5.25 lbs.. that is AWESOME!!!.. and I must admit that it is hard for me to spend $40 dollars on a pair of shoes.. but yet it's easy for me to spend over $100.00 on my pets.. hmmm.. I think I need therapy.. now which one of ya'll is a "shrink".. lol j/k.. and YES.. you do deserve them..!!!.. keep up the great work.. AnnieRN: I love walk away the pounds.. except for the part where she starts talking and says something like "I better be quiet" and then she makes you do more of those leg lift thingies.. ha ha.. now about your questions.. 1).. yes.. the urge to pee that often does subside.. but you still have to pee more than you're used to now because the water cleanses your body and gets rid of toxins.. its a small price to pay.. 2) I would still use my home scale.. but just ad the 17 lb difference.. is your scale digital or the one that the numbers spin? or if you want to.. most clinics will let you go in to weigh yourself.. all you have to do is ask if you can use their scale and most of the ones I've been to, or worked at don't have a problem with it.. and if you don't want to do that, the third option is that you can just wait till your next doctors appointment and have your weigh in every 3 months. (oh.. and GNC's usually have scales that cost 50 cents but they give you a print out of your weight... petra65: I hope you have a great trip.. and I'm sure you will do fine on your low carbing.. just look over to your shoulder and imagine the PIC ANGEL saying :nono: .. it sounds as if you pretty much have your dining schedule set.. maybe pack some beef/turkey jerky and pork skins with you to snack on.. and for lunch I used to love eating spinach salads.. that had spinach leaves, egg, bacon, cheese, onion, and ranch dressing.. or maybe go to a bar-b-q place.. ?? well.. it's getting late and I need to take a shower and get to bed.. (yes that funk you smell is coming from me..lol ).. oh wait.. dun duh da.. i'm pic chick diva of the day.. :queen: .. ;) .. well 1 month down and one month to go for my next weigh in.. i hope you all have a wonderful night.. and I cant wait to hear from you.. ttfn.. |
Annie--you can check your scale by putting something on it that you know the exact weight of like a 5lb bag of sugar or a 10 lb bag of potatoes or a 20 lb bag of dog food. You get the idea.
And dogs being vacuum cleaners. You should see my lab. He with eat ANYTHING. Even things that weren't meant to be eaten like sticks. He especially loves to help with the dishes though. He sticks his whole head in the dishwasher and licks the dirty plates off. I have to be careful. If I leave plates with food on them in the sink, he will jump up and get in the sink and help himself. He's a piece of work! Dee--thanks for the suggestions for eating out next week. I like spinach salad. I don't know if I would want to eat in 6 days in a row but maybe a few days. Talk to you guys later. I have to get ready for work. |
Howdy Everyone!!!
I went to the pool last night. Mallissa is still practicing in the deep end so I try to stay a float. LOL I think I do get more exercise then if I was in the water class chasing her around. I did do 2 laps across the pool by myself and a million with her. I had a rough day with food. I was so focused on it. Had to stop myself. I stayed within points so I am happy. Clipclop: I made a mexican dish that was great. It was all low fat or no fat....with low fat cheese, no fat beans, low fat toritas, and lots of salsa. It was good. I have to mix it up or I get into a rut too. If I have one more ham sandwich..>LOL Snacks are important..I think I live for them. LOL I did buy some rice cakes earlier this week and I love them. You can have 7 and it is only 1 point. Annie: I don't think the going to the potty stops. LOL What comes in must go out. I use that time to exercise across the office, normally I am running to the potty....LOL I have stopped drinking water after 8pm..or I will get up 3 or 4 times a night. I try to get my water in during the morning. So glad you had a better day..it does get easier. I stopped weighing myself at the office. The scale is not right... it is off and it will bounce everywhere if I stand on it for more than a second. Mary, SO happy you were the big loser this week. I told DH I needed new tennis shoes. Most of mine came with me from Florida and I have lived in Wyoming for 8 years. He told me to buy "good ones" so I think Mallissa and I will go to the mall tonight. :-) I want new shoes just for my workouts adn some good socks. Deerod: Congrats on the 12lbs..YIPEEEE for you. Cheat day is hard..Actually the weekends are hard for me. I did cheat Sunday and had stuff I wouldn't normally had but my portions were a 1/4 of my normal size..so I count that as a win for me. I stayed within my points. My problem is since I weigh in on Saturdays I think I can cheat on Saturday and Sunday and be ok. I have to change this thinking... but last time I did WW when I was in Florida...my friend and I would go out to dinner afterwards..we would do Mexican and have a few margaritas too. I still managed to lose... Although the point system helps..I think it has more to do with portion control. WW lets you have anything as long as you count and as long as you stay with 1 serving. That is a plus for the program. Jennie: Mondays are hard for me to exercise. I wished I woudl of gotten up early but got up late :-( Good for you!!! YIPPEEEEE you figured out a solution!! Petra: Watch out for those hidden calories in salads.. Last night I had a huge bowl of salad but when you add the dressing (yes I have to have it..it was Light Done Right), cheese(lowfat) a few crackers and some turkey..it adds up. I still had 3 points to spare but I felt I did good with dinner. You will do fine traveling. You get more exercise when you are on vacation!!! And remember to RELAX while you are doing it. looking2lose: Kudos to you for not indulging in the extras. It is ok to have one thing..so you made good choices. Luckily now I am the only one in my office most of the day and the only one that brings any food. I want to know which of my guys keeps stealing my bananas!! Everyone have a great day!! Lisa Wyoming |
:D Good Morning PICs!!! I needed some motivation, so I added up the total amount of weight our devoted PIC gals have lost total so far.. As of today, it is 430.1 pounds GONE FOREVER!!! :) :)
WHOOO HOOO!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE. Everyone is doing so fantastic, and I am really proud to be part of this wonderful support network. Well, I'm off to chug some water, and type some stuff (I guess I get paid for that...seems these days I am getting paid NOT to eat junk food in the cubefarm) ;) Life is rough when you work with string beans who graze all day. :moo: Have a wonderful day my beatiful queens. TTYS. HUGS, HUGS, and HUGS |
Mornin' Chick PIC Chicks
I decided to stay up and get some house work done last night even though I was tired from working a double AND sunburned  I had to get the garbage out, regardless, before I went to bed. So the other stuff basically had to be done too (litter boxes, turtle tanks, garbage from each room). I started a couple loads of laundry and gathered up more. I only missed two days, where did all this come from? No sense whining about it. :D
There certainly are some big losers on here. Everyone is doing great. But for now, I'm going to get back to work (house work) now, but I plan on commenting to some individuals (as many as I can get to) from work, where I'm plagued by "down time". Thankful every day that I found a thread to call home. Thank each and every one of you. :) |
Hello my fellow goal-setters! Just wanted to drop by and say "Hi!" (sorta not busy here at work at the moment.)
Been a good day so far. There's a cake sitting not 12 feet from me, and so far I've been a good girl. :) Also wanted to say thanks to those of you who answered my previous questions about the water and going pee-pee alot and my scale issue. I think I'll just use my scale and adjust it so that it's correct. I know that it's 17 lbs off and just go from there. Hope everyone is having a great day. I may not be able to do any weight lifting tonight. I think I may have pulled a muscle in my chest. I'll just do the Walk Away The Pounds tonight and hopefully that will be enough. |
Hello my friends ! I just stopped to have some lunch so thought I would catch up with you all. Another busy day on the thread.. you girls are exhausting  This has turned into a wonderful group and I do find myself thinking.. I better not do/eat that or I will have to confess to the PIC :nono: It is a great support system.. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU !!!
So far my day is going pretty status quo.. although I have felt hungry for the better part of the morning. I am not sure what it is, but whenever I eat a late dinner the night before I am usually hungrier the next morning ?!?! Very weird.. but I have lots of good snacks with me at work, so have been munching on them for the morning. HOTCUPOJAVA ~ YAHOO... way to go.. you big loser !!! :cp: and I am glad that you rewarded yourself. Your feet will love you for it :) ANNIE ~ sounds like you are doing well on your program.. keep with it! ARGG office treats... I use to love them.. now I hate them.. be strong girl !! PETRA ~ sounds like you have a busy week ahead. Sounds like you have planned well for your trip and I am sure that you will be a success !! DEEROD ~ good choice on the diva of the day.. you definately deserve it. :queen: LISA ~ Sorry to hear that you had a rough day :( But you worked through it and came out on points YEAH :cp: thanks for the advice on the snack etc.. I definately need to fill up my lunch bag a bit more. LOOKING2LOSE ~ wow those are impressive stats.. thanks for calculating them. I received an email this morning titled "Top 10 drawbacks to working in a cubicle" and thought of you immediately. No mention of string beans in the list though  Have a good day ! Well I am off to feed. Have a good day and TTYS :) |

Being held hostage by the man! Or as most call it, I'm at work. Wow, it's not even six o'clock? Can that be right? Oh man, that blows. Oh well, at least the money is good, I'm wearing jeans and my new tennis shoes and I like my coworker. That's a pretty good job if you can get it (as my late Mama used to say).
Despite doing laundry and cleaning house until 0200 hours this morning (I don't get home from work until midnight), I woke up early and started right off doing it again. I got a lot done too. Several loads of laundry: washed, dried AND put away! Good Turtle! AND I did more than half of my Step Reebok step work out tape. Food was good and water is improving. (Skysthelimit) Welcome to you. I'm new to this thread too. I love it here! (ClipClop) Sorry you're having hunger problems. I've been struggling with the dilemma that the more I work out, the hungrier I get. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. I don't know if that means I'm supposed to eat more or not. I hope we both get a handle on that. (AnnieRN) I hope you were able to resist the temptation of the evil cake. (Looking2lose) Happy water chugging. I raise my cheap bottle of Deja Blue to you! I feel guilty for getting to be on line at work so much. But my job is based on what calls come in. So down time is down time. I guess I like it either way. The busier I get the faster the shift goes and if it's real slow, well, I can do about anything I want. I'm pretty lucky, eh? ;) (Lisa WY) I'm following WW points too. I get 28 a day. I don't mess with the Flex thing, but if I happen to go over, I find myself using them. LOL. I get so focused on food too. Especially when flipping through the women's magazines I buy (seeing all the food in them). Sometimes even logging my food for the day or flipping through my points book to figure up points get to me. I just get so freakin' focused on food and wanting to eat it! I find that if I turn to music, usually, I can get my mind off it. Sometimes, I even dance like no one is watching (and hopefully they aren't). I hope you find an out (an escape) of that food focus. It's something that trips me up a lot. I really need to work on it. (Deerod) I loved the visual I got of the two handed Chihuahua vacs. You could probably rig a handle to a harness. I can see them, feet barely touching the ground, tongues going a mile a minute, cleaning up crumbs. (Jennie934) I hope you found time to get your pedicure. I used to do nails (once upon a time) I never cared much for doing pedicures. I've never had one myself. I bet it's great! (MoonRay) Good luck on your weigh in and thanks for all that cheering. That no doubt, used up a lot of calories! (~~Sunshine~~) Awesome on all that exercise! And you're going to do more. You rock kid! Okay, now I guess I'll start reading and commenting in journals. Work work work. LOL. ;) |
Hi Ladies,
How is everyone doing. Well some how yesterday I caught a nasty cold. I dont' know how I did it. I have been so healthy lately but it happened. I had such a hectic day today so I couldn't call off sick. If I am still feeling bad tomorrow, I might call of sick and get a day to rest. I feel so drained, I can't even think about excersise. Thats OK right, I should wait until I feel up to it to excersise. I did make sure I stayed with in my points and got a lot of servings of fruit and veggies to get me some vitamins. Ok, I'm off to take a shower to relax my weary muscles and open up my sinuses....then to bed. Talk to you all when I feel better. |
Hi everyone! So far a great day, but I don't think I will be able to exercise. My chest is killing me. Must have pulled a muscle. I will wait until tomorrow when I can hopefully move without wincing in pain! LOL
ClipClop- I was able to resists the temptation of the cake, but damn it looked good. I did it, though! What sort of snacks do you bring to work? Welcome Skysthelimit (Sherry)! I'm new here as well, and I can attest to the wonderful gals and the endless support and laughs they provide! :) Hello Hotcupojava! Nice to meet you! Jennie- Yeah, don't exercise when you're sick. Especially if you have an infection (sinus?) Your body needs rest to allow it to heal. Drink a lot of water and if you're symptoms aren't gone within 7 days, call your doctor. (I'm a nurse that works with an ENT specialist.) :) Hope you feel better. So far up to 1253 calories. God, sometimes I hate counting calories. It can be so time consuming. And Fitday's calorie counts aren't always correct so I have to adjust. Blah! Well, off to try and break the endless cycle of laundry. |
I know you ladies are all going to think I'm bipolar or something with the way my mood has been this week :dizzy: but last night my sil called to tell me she has breast cancer :(. My grandfather just had surgery for colon cancer (which is what I lost my mil to) and now this. It is just pissing me off . They are saying she is going to be fine but what they **** do they know anyway.
I just wanted to let you guys know I am reading all the posts, thinking about you all and rooting for you everyday but if my message are a little short right now it's just because I am a blubbering idiot right now  . I am sorry I'm not talking to each of you :sorry: I love doing that. But I am here for you all and will continue on my journey to lose this weight. I promise. I have to go now because the baby is beating up the washer but I will talk to you all later. Sorry so depressing :sorry: |
Good evening everyone.
MomX3-sorry to hear about your sil. I will keep her in my prayers. They have come a long way in the treatment of breast cancer in the past 10 year or so, so there is a lot to be optimistic about. I see patients at our cancer center on Fridays and attend our breast tumor board so I'm actually pretty up to date on that stuff. Java--I wish I had a job like yours, LOL. Jennie--get better. Take care of yourself. The exercise can wait. Looking2Lose--thanks for the total. That is impressive! That should keep us all motivated for awhile. Annie--I use FitDay too and have noticed they sometimes make strange assumptions. In particular they seem to assume that I use really fatty cuts of meat or something like that. I also have to put a lot of stuff in as custom foods but once you learn all the little quirks I like it for the most part. Skysthe Limit--welcome. I think you will like it here. Lisa--I guess you didn't realize this but I don't have to count calories like you guys do. I certainly can't eat 5000 a day or anything but they don't have the same importance on low carb that they do on low fat. I can eat my salad with real ranch dressing. In fact, that would be preferred because it has fewer carbs. What might surprise you, is that I probably don't eat that many more calories than you guys do. FitDay says I average about 1700 which would probably be about 35 WW points if I remember correctly. TTYS. I will turn into a pumpkin soon. |
momx3- I hope everything turns out ok with your SIL, hang in there.
MoonRay |
MomXs3 I wish you peace and I hope you feel better. Best of health to your SIL. Don't worry about your moods here. That's what is so great about posting to great people you know you can trust. They don't judge.

Howdy Everyone!
Did get my walk into today and did 20 minutes on the stair stepper (that kicks your butt!). I had a good day today and keep my eating under control although we had fish filets for dinner with tator tots. LOL But my portions were under control!! I did have popcorn twice. I drank all my water plus!! Yipeee for me!! Stayed right at points..that is why the popcorn. Sherry: Welcome, I am glad you have joined us on our journey! Momx3: Dealing with cancer in the family is hard. My sister was dx with anal cancer two years ago. She also had kidney cancer and they took her kidney last year. She at one time weighed 400lbs and had WLS about 7 years ago. (she hounds the heck out of me wanting to do it..not me.. I have no desire..I can do it this way) Now she has the other problem, she only weighs 80lbs and can't put on weight. She went through chemo and it was rough. Breast cancer caught in time can be treated. Hugs and Prayers to you. Petra: I am not sure how many calories WW has. I get 28 points a day. I am not sure I could do the Atkins. I am not that found of meat and I love bread and pasta. Are you counting down to your vacation..How many more days. LOL Can I come too?? We are going to South Dakota later this summer. Annie: it is best to take it easy if you injured yourself exercising. Try the pool, very low impact on your body. I am getting used the hunger pangs afterwards. Counting calories is like counting points. It makes you focus more on what you are eating in someways that is good..but all the focus on food makes me hungry. LOL Jennie: Drink your chicken soup!! Hope you feel better soon!! Hugs!! Sunshine: All that energy girl. LOL Glad you got your exercise in and some for the rest of us. LOL Mary: I have a job like that too.. I am an office manager. I work hard part of the week and during my down time I am on the internet. LOL Great job perks!!!! Actually my last 3 jobs have been like that.....mmmm.. I hope I never get laid off again. LOL I was a horrible stay at home mom!! Glad you got your house cleanned. Want to come do mine??? Clipclop: The hunger strikes me at about 10:00 every morning. Even when I have a snack..it just makes me focus more on lunch. LOL I noticed if I have a lot to do in the morning..my morning goes faster..like today I did payroll.. so it wasn't so bad. I have now decided if I have to go potty...I skip to the potty as long as no one is in the office. LOL I also will get up and do leg lunges or something when I get too bored. It is keeping me more on focused. Looking2Lose: Great deal on the numbers...WOW we are a bunch of losers!! Thanks for doing that and we should keep it up!! How was life in the cubefarm today? Deerod: the dog thing was so funny and as someone else said the visual was too much!! I want a dog but my cats won't let me get one. My cats are probably bigger than your dogs. I wonder if they do WW for kitties. LOL My female kills anything that moves in our yard and during the winter she blimps up by the end of summer..she will be normal again..only to do it all over again. My male cat is just huge!! Mallissa wants a dog and a pink one at that, so Dave told her when she found a PINK one she could have it. LOL Did I miss anyone?? I hope not..I am getting tired so my mind is not working as well. Has anyone else noticed they have more energy?? The last 3 nights I have been up later. I was even doing exercise in bed last night. LOL Don't think Dave like that too well. He woke up and asked what the heck are you doing?? Once I fall asleep it is a deeper sleep and I feel refreshed in the morning but I can get by on less sleep. Might be the change in the weather. YAHOOO we had a few nice days in a row. Other than the wind yesterday...it was nice. Ok..it is down to Carrie and Bo on American Idol..who do you want to win?? I say Carrie but her and Bo are so different..I do think he probably will win. Not sure America is ready for a country American Idol. Night everyone until tomorrow..stay on your track! Lisa Wyoming |
Hey Fellow PIC, hope your day is going well.
I just got to work, so thought I would take a few minutes to get caught up with you all. My week has been going pretty well, although a big challenge at lunch today. The office is going out for lunch to a Vietamese restaurant.. so will have to do some preplanning on my points. I am not going to sweat it though as I can make up for it at dinner by having a big salad (lettuce is my point friendly friend :D ) Last day of work for me this week, I have a day off tomorrow and Monday is a holiday here.. yahoo a four day weekend. Although most of that time will be spent studying. SKYSTHELIMIT ~ Welcome to the group. This is an amazing group of women, you will enjoy yourself here. SUNSHINE ~ You are just one big ball of energy !! I give you heaps of credit for being so dedicated and finding the time for YOU. HOTCUPOJAVA ~ you lean mean cleaning machine !! Wanna come to my house ?!?!? Sounds like you have been busy busy.. hope you get some time on the weekend to sit and put your feet up. ANNIE ~ good for you for resisting the temptation of the cake ! I have been resisting a box of chocolates mint patties on the common table at work for the past week and am hoping someone will soon take them away. As for snacks, I usually bring a few pieces of fruit with me, some cut up veggies etc.. stuff that takes lots of chewing and fills you up. MOMX3 ~ so sorry to hear about your SIL... our thoughts are with you. Take time for yourself and know that we are here to support you when you need us. PETRA ~ hope things are going well for you !! LISA ~ sounds like you are still going strong on program.. well done ! I definately need to start eating a bit more.. i think my body thinks I am starving it and it is holding on to everything I put in it. Guess they give you a points target for a reason ! I definately agree with you on the energy etc. I have been sleeping so soundly for the past few weeks. Okay kids I better get some paper moving on my desk. Have a great day and I will talk to you all soon. |
Hey my PIC buddies - Thanks for all your support. I'm so glad I found all of you. I think I'm feeling better today. It's not just my sil there is alot of other things going on as well right now that I won't bore you with.
I have my first weigh :goodscale and measure tomorrow at curves so I'm hoping I'm going to be a big loser. I will let you guys know tomorrow. Hopefully I can add to our number. I can't believe how well everyone is doing!! YOU GUYS REALLY ARE LOSERS!!!!! clipclop - We take Friday's off during the summer which is nice. I hope you have a wonderful 4 day weekend. Try to relax a little 'kay. Lisa - I also have more energy although the weather here is driving me nuts. We go from 80 one day to thunderstorms the next. Whats up with that :dizzy:. Good for you getting on the stairstepper. That is one machine I can't do. I just wears me out and hurts my knees. Petra - I hope the carbing is going well for you. Annie - I agree with everyone else. You need to let yourself heal. This is one time I say Don't Exercise unless you can walk and not use your arms at all. I hope you feel better soon :D. Jennie - I hope all is well with you and you are up and moving again soon :ebike:. Hotcup - I love new tennis shoes. They make me feel like I can leap tall buildings in a single bound . You are worth all $40 girl. Sunshine - I need just a little of your energy right now. Will you share? ;) Skysthelimit - Welcome to our group :high:. O.K. ladies I guess I need to get some work done so here's to all of you :grouphug:. Thanks again for being so understanding. :) |
Afternoon PIC Chicks
Time to shower, so this is a fly by post. I just designed my own work out this morning. But I think I over did it. Feeling a little shakey and rubbery. But since it's time to shower, I'll sit and calm myself after I shower. I put some music on, couldn't find my hand weights, so I strapped my ankle weights on my wrists and stepped on my step for thirty solid minutes while I watched the local news. Alternated knees up, kicks, side kicks, kick backs all the while doing arms with the weights on. It was rough to go the whole 30. But I feel so glad that I did. I will try to catch up to the rest of you (individually) when I'm at work. But I hope you're all enjoying your day. Hugs to those of us that needs hugs, pats on back to those deserving chicks too. And does anyone need a kick? Who is up for a kick? Who'd like to do the kicking? Go shower, Turtle, you're rambling.

Hi Everyone,
Still under the weather. I took the afternoon off from work. I had to I just couldn't keep going. I dont' get sick often so when I do it really gets me down. I've been staying on point and with my food but just resting. Mom- I'm sorry to hear about your family problems. that could definatley get any one down. Clip Clop - I wish my office would go for vietnamise, they always get pizza yuck! those summer rolls the not fried ones are only 2 points a piece I ussuallly fill up on them. Lisa- good job, it sounds like you are really keeping your self motivated and making the right choices. put tator tots in front of me and I dont' thnk I could say that I had a small serving. there is just something abou them.... Annie- thanks for the advice, its always good to have a RN around! Hotcup - your work out sounds good. its always good to have someting like the news to take your mind off of the excersise. Deerod, Petra, Moonray, Sunshine, Sky, I hope you are all having a good day. I'm off to my nap. hopefully I can sleep off this cold. Jennie |
I went to the Doctor's today and I was looking forward to my weigh-in but they got my appointment screwed up and I wasn't able to see him :( So now I have to wait till next month to weigh in :( unless I get a chance to go in to a GNC and weigh myself there. I have a WW scale at home and I weighed myself but I think it must be wrong it keeps telling me I'm 335 wich would mean I lost 6 Lbs in one week and I find that hard to believe. (don't want to get my hopes up and then get dissapointed) Well I will see what I can do :D
I'm very proud to all who have been working out!!! Keep at it!! I haven't gotten any work out time in but I have been digging up some rose bushes and replanting them, that must count as some sort of work out ;) :cheer: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADIES!! :cheer: MoonRay |
Moon - Could you call your Dr.'s office and see if you could just weigh yourself there? Tell them I said to let you do it :D.
|
All the ladies in the house say Ohhhh Ohhhh
I'm now at work and working alone tonight. Guess that means no structured 30 minute walk, but I'll put the radio on and pace a circle in my TINY office. If you stood in the middle of the room and I paced my circles around you, I could probably reach out and touch you the whole time. Okay, probably a weird visual, but I'm awful with math, measurements and dimensions. It's a very small room to say the least and I pace in a tight circle like a caged TURTLE. But at least I'm moving. My legs are still sore. I'm guessing all the step tapes and climbing stairs is working. But maybe I should do a strength training tape or toning with Richard. Don't want to injure myself or worse ... burn out.
(MoonRay) I weigh in at my doctor's office all the time. I never have an appointment for it. I just drop in. I guess I don't give them a chance to say no. I pay them good and if the scale isn't tied up, I see no reason why they shouldn't let me weigh. I mean I'm improving my health. They should be happy to accomodate you. Drop in. Don't even ask, just say I'm here to weigh myself, please. :^: (Jennie934) I sure hope you get to feeling better real soon. Staying on point and OP while sick is VERY commendable. I'm very proud of you. (MomX3) I'm glad you're feeling some better. Good luck to you at tomorrow's weigh in and measurement at Curves. We can do this! All of us. Grrrrr.. everybody growl.... grrrrr (ClipClop) I've never eaten Vietnamese food before. I'm not sure there's even a restaurant like that around here. Maybe I'm lucky if it's that "good bad" food. I work across from a Japanese steak house and I've got to tell you, the aroma is heavenly. Feel like it's tempting me on a floating wave like in the cartoons. LOL I hope you managed okay with your OP salad. (Lisa WY) Tator tots and controlled portions would probably never be together in one of MY sentences. You did awesome! Great job on all that exercise too. And water? Girl, you're rocking! (Here's my Joey impression.) "How YOU doin?" to Petra65, AnnieRN, ~~Sunshine~~, Skysthelimit, deerod, and Looking2lose. Did I miss anyone? And where's Kclay61? Playing and cooing with that beautiful grandson, no doubt. Have a great day all. |
Hello everyone!! Hope everyone has had a good day! I am not good at addressing everyone so please excuse me!
Well I got in some exercise not as much as usually because man it is hot out!! But I did 30 minutes of sweatin to the oldies again I love that tape!! I have also rode my bike 4 miles and probably walk tonight like every night! momx3- Yes I will share my energy come take all you want!! LOL I am very sorry about your SIL cancer has also touched my life! MoonRay- Yes I believe you could of lost 6 lbs in one week I lost 4.5 lbs once!! I only weigh by my WW scales becuase I do not go to a fitness club to weigh!! Have good evening everyone! |
