Hey ladies. I have been really tired 'cause the baby does'nt want to sleep right now. She goes through this every once in awhile. I am reading all of the posts just don't have the energy right now to post back but I am thinking about all of you everday. Keep up the great work.

Annie - Don't give up girl!! I bet some of the weight was water. I hate it when my friends get down so pull yourself up. You are doing so well!! Don't let one weekend break you. You are so much better than that and I am so proud of all the hard work you have been putting in. You can do this!!! Lean on us!!!

I will talk to everyone else tomorrow. Love you guys.

petra65 06-15-2005 07:53 AM

I tried the coffeecake. Once you get past the idea that it doesn't taste like regular coffee cake (how could it? It doesn't have regular flour in it?) I suppose it is a reasonable substitute. I cut it in half and put half in the freezer. The only really good low carb baked goods I have had so far is low carb cheese cake because the only thing you have to substitute is the sugar. When you get into flour substitutes, it gets a little wierd. Talk to you later.

Skysthelimit 06-15-2005 09:35 AM

Ugh tip to everyone if you ever live in Florida do not ever take a walk at 3pm. I took my walk yesturday with the boys then, the boys where fine my son was in the stroller (we all had water with us) he had the stroller top shading him, my stepson was walking like me, he looked fine nothing wrong with him. Well when we got back to the house I put my son in the bath and glanced in the mirror my face was tomato red! Well I finshed giving him a bath gave him more drink put him down for a nap. Ok speeding ahead later on that night I had the biggest mega headache I tried and tried to get rid of. It wasn't till after I woke up today that it was gone.

Curlylocks~Yes I know what ya mean ;).

jennie934 06-15-2005 09:40 AM

Hi Everyone,
back to my scale saga, I decided that cold turkey was to harsh so I am letting my self WI at home on Wednsday morning, and evening if I like and then again before my WI at WW mabye saturday morning or something. that is way better than every day and yet I still get that piece of mind that I know how I am doing.

Did well yesterday. I jogged/walked on the dreadmill I did 4.5 miles. I am doing the couch to 5 K and its seems pretty good. at first I was putting the incline to high making it hard to keep up the jog but now I'm doing OK with the incline lower I do the first 1/2 at 3 and then the second 1/2 at 1. they say in the plan just to do 2 miles so I ussaully make sure I do that and then as much more as I can when it gets to hard, I just walk the rest of the way. It working, I'm building up stamina.

has any one tried the Quakes I think they are popcorn or rice cakes, they are so good and a serving is 1 point but unfortunatly last night i couldn't stop and had like 4 servings. they were the carmel ones yummmmm.....at least it wasn't chocolate or icecream!

Today is pretty busy. I keep puting this off that need to get done so I can go excersise. I am so busy and I still havn't found a way to nicely fit everything in my day. oh well such is life!

Howdy All,
I went to the Y last night but I didn't work out in the gym :( I did manage to swim in the pool and do 8 laps. (depends on what you call a lap..I count it is one time across and not across and back) The pool is olympic size so I felt that was good. I was breathing hard..and my hard felt like they were going to fall off when I was done! I also sort of participated in the water exercise class. Mallissa is now swimming without the turtle and loves to go back and forth between Dave and I.. so between her laps..I participated in water exercise. All in all..we had a nice time last night. Dave told me this morning..how much better he feels about going to the Y...he soaked in the hot tub, went to the sauna and then in the pool with us. THe gym was so busy and there was a wait at the treadmills that is why I skipped that part of my workout. Also a friend of mine from Florida called when we were walking into the gym.... she had went to the viewing for the baby that died last week and wanted to tell me about how our friend was holding up. I should of started walking around the park while I was talking to her but instead I sat on a bench outside the Y. (bad me!)

Jennie: I love those carmel rice cakes. I even tried the Safeway brand and those are good too and a lot cheaper! WOw good for you on the exercise!

Sky: As a Florida resident for 30 years..I know only too well about the sun there! I used to walk at night after dark when it was a little bit cooler. One thing I love about Wyoming..we only get a few "hot" days every summer. Where are you in Florida? I bought a new van for Christmas! Easiest car deal I ever did. We were in and out of the dealership in an hour!! Now, if I didn't have the payments...I would be happier. LOL Let's see..how many more years. LOL

curly: never have tried fit day. I have WW online that I paid for...3 months..not renewing..not worth it. LOL I did bring my paper journal today so I will start to try to do that!

MOmx3: It is hard when the kiddos don't sleep. Last night Mallissa was getting cranky at the pool. We were leaving early anyway because Dave don't like to stay until 8:30...but she wanted just 1 more minute. By the time we drove out of the parking lot, she was asleep in the car. Luckily, She gets a good shower and I bring her jammies. I put her to bed when we got home and she got a good nights sleep for a change. She can be a bear in the morning!

Petra: sorry the cake wasn't what you exspected. I don't have a sweet tooth, so I am easily giving up that part of the junk in my diet.

Annie: welcome back!! Just jump back on the horse and you will be fine. 1.8 gain is not that horrible! THink of what you might of gained if you were not at least aware with what you were doing. Sometimes we have to take a break and come back with a better state of mind that you can do this! Sometimes it leads to a bigger loss! Think posititve...... I should tell my walking story from the other day.. but I don't want to post online for everyone else to see. LOL but I learned a valuable lesson about walking and water! If I don't give up after that..u can do what you are doing..trust me!

Moonray: Hope school is going well! make sure you find time for you!!

As far as dressing up for work...I am glad I don't have to. I wear jeans and t-shirts. Somedays the only other people I see are the guys I work with. So it really doesn't matter. I have even worn my sweats to work at times. LOL

Hope everyone has a great day!! Check back in later!!

CURLYLOCKS ~ yahooo girl.. we knew you could do it ! so do tell.. how was the date ?!?!?

JENNIE ~ oh the tales of the scale. You sound like me.. I always take a peak on about Thursday to see how I am doing.. gives me a chance to really pull it together before my monday WI if I have to.

LISA ~ good for you for getting the swimming in !

MOM ~ take care of yourself.. hopefully you will get some much need rest and relaxation !

PETRA ~ glad things are starting to slow down for you !

ANNIE ~ hang in their girl !! We are all here for you and know exactly what you are going through.. you will get through it :grouphug:

MOONRAY ~ hope school is going well.

okay, hope I haven't missed anyone, but I have a meeting in a couple of minutes so I have to sign off.

Hope you all have a great day

curlylocks 06-15-2005 12:46 PM

no date... he had to hop on the plane back to GA after his business meeting cuz there was an emergency with one of his projects... we are rescheduled for next wednesday! but my dress fits really good!

MoonRay 06-15-2005 04:57 PM

AnnieRN- YOU CAN DO THIS!! the weight gain is probably just water, you will be at your goal weight in no time! just stick to it!! You know we are all here for each other so there's plenty of shoulders to lean on and plenty of feet to kick ;)

School is going well, I haven't been doing good on my excersise or water intake :( but I have been really good with the food :D I'm going to get a 1.5 litter water bottle so I can drink it through out the day and maybe re-fill it a couple of times because the ones they sell at school are tiny (one drink and it's all gone).

Hope you are all doing well and sticking to your plans

MoonRay

AnnieRN 06-15-2005 06:56 PM

Thank you to EVERYONE who gave me the pep talk I needed.

I have no idea what has come over me these past days, but I am pushing myself to do the right things. It just seems harder to do this week than the past 4 weeks. After posting last night (and feeling so tired), I all of the sudden got a jolt of energy and cleaned the bathroom, my daughter's room, and did 3 loads of laundry. Betcha there were a few calories burned there, as I was sweating when I was done.

I have NOOOOOOOOOO idea how I would get through this without the help and support from all of you. I damn near came close to crying in reading all of your posts. I have to say I feel so LUCKY to have sailed into this website.

I am soooo full right now, as I made a chicken gumbo tonight. I did overeat, but it was pretty lo-cal (except the rice), but am still only at just over 1000 cals for the day. I also haven't been drinking the water I should, but I will HOP right back on that wagon tomorrow and seek that attitude I had only 1 week ago.

Curlylocks- Sorry about the date, but as the old cliche goes, "good things come to those who wait." :D

Lisa- I think I speak for all of us that we want to hear your walking story. ;)

Petra- I just made some brownies for the kids. Betcha they are good. At least low-carbers have SOME choice in "desserts." I suppose once you get used to the weirded-out flour, you may actually acquire a taste for it. And oh yeah, thanks for the BUTT kickin'!

Mom- As always, thanks for all of your great words of wisdom. Sorry about the baby not sleeping. Besides all the junk food I encountered at my bro's this weekend, was seeing my family altogether. One of my aunt's (mom's brother's wife, whose only 1 year older than I) had her 6 month old baby there the entire weekend. Let me tell you, I sucked up that little girl as much as I could. Been awhile for me and babies. Thanks again! :)

ClipClop- Hope things are going great for you!

Dee- A punker, eh? Never woulda pictured it, but I have one tattoo! Back in the day when I thought it was cool. Picture of a panda bear. I don't have pink hair yet, though. Great to have you back.

Moon- Thanks for the encouraging words. I hope that I am able to lend some support to you wonderful folks from time to time. :) Glad to hear school is going well. What are you studying?

If I missed anyone, not intentional. Hope everyone has a super night.

AnnieRN 06-15-2005 07:00 PM

Oh yeah, this past weekend the family was talking about all of us going to Mexico next March. If that isn't a motivator to lose weight, I don't know what is. :dizzy:

momX3 06-15-2005 09:55 PM

Hi my friends :D. Well it has been a pretty rough day today. I don't know why but I'm thinking maybe because I have been at it 8 weeks and just need more food choices. I tend to stick to the same thing all the time. I went to the chiropractor today and had my back cracked 'cause I tend to get headaches (I think this is due to my very large ladies ).

Petra - when I did low carb the cheesecake was always my favorite too. I also ate alot of low carb candy bars but I can't think of the brand. Anyway they were good but I tend to eat to many .

Curly - I'm lucky to. It's jeans and tee shirts everday in my office. We don't deal with the public so who cares.

Jennie - Great job on the exercise program. You will be running a marathon before you know it :D.

Lisa - You can really tell your a mom when you have the idea to bring pj's to the gym :dancer: just in case.

Clip - I know what you mean about missing a day. It's impossible to catch up ;). I'm glad though. I think alot of sites kind of fade over time and we are still going strong.

Moon - So glad to hear school is going well. Don't worry about everything else until you get settled in at school. You don't want to overwhelm yourself 'cause that is going to make it even harder :goodvibes :goodvibes

Annie - Yeah babies :bb:. I LOVE them. I would have another if dh would let me but he says he is to old. I also have a tattoo. It is two angels 1 girl 1 boy for my first two kids. I had to promise dh I would not get another one if we had another baby. He HATES them (tattoo's not babies). A really good friend of mine is moving to Hawaii this summer. Guess where I am going on vacation from now on. I lost 50 pounds in 5 months when I was going to Mexico. It truly is a motivator. ;)

jennie934 06-16-2005 09:53 AM

Hey Ladies,
Yesterday was so bad. Foodwise that is. I had to eat and run for lunch. I went to wholefoods (do you guys have those? we call the whole paycheck because its so expensive but sometimes when I want something specific I'll go) and got a wrap and a salad from the bar. It was good but I should have done one or the other. Something in there didn't seem to agree with me and I was bloated and feeling gross all day. Then we had a dinner meeting and the woman that orders the food always orders from this place that is so bad. They are OK once in a while but all the time no way. The quality is bad and they just send so much it makes me sick to look at it. Its middle eastern food and I love middle eastern food but good fresh stuff not this place she orders. Anyway I tried to go light and just have hummus, veggies, and pita. But it sent me over the edge I dont' know what is in that food but I just have to avoid it it makes me so sick. I was literally doubled over in pain. I feel bad because I complain about it all the time and its free and all but if we all hate it they are wasting their money buying it for us. And its not cheap. Once a visiting teacher actually got so sick she threw up and had to leave workshop. Anyway now I feel like :censored: :rollpin:

Mom, I know what you mean about the food choices. I get stuck in a rutt too. For a while I would have the same chopped salad for lunch with tuna or a veggie burger or something but it was basically the same. It was good and I got used to eating it but I also got bored. I get scared to do new things because the old stuff is working. I'm ussually pretty ok about dinner options but lunch and breakfast are always the same. It get to me. let me know if you think of anything new to try.

Annie, I'm glad to hear you are getting back on the plan. 1.8 is so minor, I gain that when I think I'm doing well and you went away. I'm sure it will come off soon.

Moon, get that water in. I hate those little bottles too. I feel like its a waste of plastic.

Sky, keep out of that hot sun! I know those headaches well. Its nice to be in the sun at first but after oh man!

Curly, yeah on the dress, you'll wow him when he get back in town.

Clipclop, Have fun at work.

Lisa, 8 laps in an olympic pool is a lot. I am no good at swimming laps and I can feel your wobbly arms after ward, its hard work...keep it up they ssay that is the best excersise there is.

Deerod, how ya doin girl? adjusting to your new job?

Petra, I tried a low carb reeses cup and actually threw it away after one bite. yuck, don't try it. what about a flowerless chocoalte cake? I've had those before and they I'm sure were high carb because of the sugar but I wonder if you used splenda instead it would probably be low card.

Hope I got everyone, I'll check in later.
Jennie

GDay Ladies !! Okay so much for catching up yesterday, I ended up going out for dinner with the gals from work and got home and flopped on the couch. Now I am back at work and then school tonight... somedays I feel like I am stuck in the script of Groundhog Day... round and round we go :dizzy:

CURLY ~ sorry to hear that you didn't have your date.... your dress will be fitting even better by the time it gets rescheduled !!

MOON ~ glad to hear that school is going well. You will get your schedule and water intake sorted out it will just take a little while, but definately a good idea investing in the water bottle !

ANNIE ~ I am doing well thanks ! Glad to hear that you are too ! I agree with you, this is such a strong group of women, it is making this whole dreadful process so much better. Keep up the great work that you are doing.

MOM ~ sounds like you and I are in the same rut... I tend to eat the same things day in and day out. I really need to switch it up a bit, but I find that if I am really busy it is just easier to rely on the good old standbys. If you think of any new alternatives let me know.

JENNIE ~ hope you are feeling better today !

Well kids I've got a pile of paper to get to. Have a great day and TTYS !!

Hotcupojava 06-16-2005 05:56 PM

I'm BAAAAaaaack

Back from the beach :beach: and glad to be home. I didn't go crazy with my food, but it looks like I did gain a little. I'm hoping I'll have it back off :tread: by Monday's TOPS weigh in:goodscale . I've missed everyone. Hope all is well.

angel-eyes 06-16-2005 06:28 PM

S.o.s.....help!!

Arg!!! I'm feeling soooo out of control right now and have been for the last few weeks or so. :fr: I don't know why but I've been sabbotaging my day. :?: I'll be okay for half the day and then I'll go a 'wondering in the pantry and fill up on junk. Next day, I'll have breakfast OP and then? waste the day. This has been going on for almost a month now. The same weight, plus or minus a pound. Why is it we all know what to do, how to do it, and all the rest....so much so we can write a book about it, but when it comes right down to actually do it......we suck!!! (uh...ahem....I suck) :sorry: I need you ladies much more than I thought I ever could. Please someone give me the sermon and kick in the butt speech :drill: .....PUHLEASE!!!! :soap:

deerod 06-16-2005 07:23 PM

howdy everyone.. just wanted to check in and say hi.. I'm sorry I havent been posting, but I've been going to training for my new job.. it's only for two weeks.. so please bare with me.. as soon as I start working at home, things will get back to normal.. I wish you all the best of luck.. and I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT.. I'll write you as soon as I can..

Love you ALL

AnnieRN 06-16-2005 07:30 PM

*kicks angel in the butt* Hey, it helped me! Petra did a great job :D, as all of you did in helping to support my feelings of discouragement this week.

WE CAN DO THIS!!

We all had reasons to want to start this journey. I reflected on that last night while sitting in bed. I realized that eating healthier and making my body stronger through exercise will enable me to live my life as it was meant to be lived. I realized that eating to live instead living to eat is the motto for which I should base my food consumption on. Couple that with the benefits of 30 minutes of exercise a day (maybe more on some other days :D) and I will have taken complete control over my life. I will be happier. I will have more energy. I will have a positive self- esteem and positive self-image. Something I haven't possessed for years and years. I realized how damn tired I am of making excuses for myself NOT to lose weight. I know what I want and I'm going to get what I want this time. We are going to do this together.

Another funny thought came to me while I was sitting on my bed. Strangely enough, the movie "Osmosis Jones" crept into my neurons. If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend it. Story about a dad (Bill Murray) who lives his life eating junk food and not exercising. His daughter (who is cute, but can't remember her name), continually begs for her dad to start living healthier. All the while, in animation, you see what's happening on the inside of his body as a result of his bad choices. At any rate, cute story, but still really weird I thought of that. :dizzy:

Before I ramble on any further, I have to say again to you loverly ladies that I appreciate all the support you've given me.

momX3 06-16-2005 07:33 PM

Angel - I'm so sorry :( you are feeling out of control but maybe try to look at it this way... You are eating healthy for the first half of the day which is probably better then you used to eat right??? So now it's time to get the rest of the day under control. Try to figure out why you are going to the pantry. Are you bored, tired, stressed??? Then the next time you go to eat unhealthy just picture my size 8 shoe behind you :lol3: You can do this girl you are worth it. Just keep telling yourself that. :grouphug: :grouphug:

petra65 06-16-2005 08:34 PM

Angel-I'm with Mom on this one. You need to ask yourself why you are wandering into that pantry. Are you hungry? If you are, fine, then maybe you need to schedule yourself a healthy snack in the afternoon, but if not, then you need to figure out what is going on and address the real issue. We have all been guilty of using food to ease our feelings of boredom, loneliness, stress, or whatever uncomfortable emotion we are having at that moment and ultimatley all we are doing is making a bigger problem for ourselves. Am I sounding like a shrink or what?

I know what you mean about getting bored with food. That is why I made that coffee cake. I wasn't really craving something sweet, I just got tired of eating eggs every day for breakfast. Fortunately I like eggs, but you need a break every once in a while.

I invited the lady who lives near me and was on the low carb thread to join us. Don't know if she will or not. Her name is Kim.

AnnieRN 06-17-2005 08:09 AM

Good morning! :coffee:

Well, after all that worrying this week about the 1.8 lb gain, my scale surprised me this morning for my WI, as it said 202.8. Soooooooo, I must be doing something right. Wooooohooooo! I had anticipated the worse for the WI today, which is why I practically did a jig  right there in the bathroom. :o

Angel- Mom and Petra have great advice. Have you started a journal? Maybe righting down what you're feeling at THOSE times may help you. We're here for you. :grouphug:

Mom- I know exactly what you mean about trying to get more food choices. I think most everyone has about 6-7 dishes they make, and it's no wonder we get into ruts. I might, if I have time today at work (which I probably will, as work always get slow for me in the summer) research some healthy snack and meal recipes online at work today. If I find any "worthy" I could share.

Well, I decided not to exercise this morning, but am going to mow the lawn tonight and perhaps do a "toning and sculpting" session from my Jane Fonda DVD. I feel sorta "ugh" this morning. Probably allergies.

At any rate, hope you all have fantastic Friday. :) I will attempt to address everyone tonight, as I now have to get ready for work.

Chat at you later

petra65 06-17-2005 08:11 AM

Good morning ladies. I can't believe my post from last night is the last one on here.
I only lost a few tenths of a pound this week. Not enough to change my weight tracker. I'm a little disappointed. I think skipping meals last weekend is what screwed me up. Not eating enough can be as almost as big a problem as eating too much. Anyway, hopefully this week will be better. I'd like to make 25 lbs by July 4th. Hope you all have a great Friday.

Lisa_WY 06-17-2005 08:22 AM

Howdy All,
Yesterday at work was horrible so I couldn't post at all. Last night the pool was closed due to lighting so swimming was canceled. I decided to do RS, Dance your pants off. WOW! I did really well with the video but I was drenched and tired when I was done.

Today is going to be a busy day too. Mallissa has open gym so I am taking my lunch and picking her up at daycare and taking her to the gym. She also has a sleep over tonight at the gym. I get a free night. LOL Wonder what Dave and I will do!!

Hope everyone has a great day!! Be good to yourself and try to stay on program! Weigh in for me is tomorrow..I am excited but nervous. I think I have a loss but with the scale you never know!

momX3 06-17-2005 10:22 AM

I'm feeling like I'm in a catch 22 here. My feet hurt when I stand up after sitting for any amount of time. This has gotten alot worse since I started exercising. Also my knee's ache so bad after I exercise. I know alot of this is because of my weight but I have to exercise to get the weight off which makes me in constant pain. I'm not going to give up I just think maybe I should go see my doctor (have not seen a doc since the birth of the baby). Maybe there is something he can suggest. Also if there is anything anyone else can suggest. I know I could go to a pool but that is not practical for me and so I would'nt go. Curves does'nt usually hurt but I can't just do curves or I will feel like I'm not doing enough because I go there 3 times a week every other day to let my muscles rest in between workouts. :sorry: I'm so :blah: :blah: :blah: but I'm just at the end of my rope. I know to take medicine for my knees but what about the foot pain??? Anyone else have this problem??? When will it go away?????

Louie 06-17-2005 10:44 AM

GDay Ladies ! I took the day off work today to do some studying. Only 2 more classes left and then I write my final exam, so need to get a handle on the material that we covered this week. So I am enjoying my morning :coffee: and then will get my butt into gear on homework.

MOM ~ hmm sore feet. I had that problem when I was doing a run/walk program. The problem was with swelling just below my toes (metatarsil), unfortunately this particular problem doesn't go away to quickly and I had to give up the running part of my program. Hopefully yours is nothing serious, but yes you should go to the Dr. to get it checked out as you don't want to do more damage to it.

LISA ~ hope your day at work goes better today !! Have a good evening Mallisa free.. and don't feel like you need to tell us what you get up to ;) Good luck with the WI, I know you will do great.. look forward to hearing your results.

PETRA ~ a loss is a loss.. great job ! I know what you mean about eating too little food, it is hard to find that right balance.

ANNIE ~ yeah, I am so happy for you :bravo: I hope my WI on monday goes just as well.

DEE ~ glad to hear that you are doing well and enjoying your training.

ANGEL ~ you can do this !! Like everyone said finding the reasons behind it are often the most important thing that you can do. Once someone told me that when you are having thoughts about food that you have to consider those thoughts as not being part of you, but rather a thought that is trying to control and you need to fight it off... distract yourself, have a glass of water.. do something... but don't let it win !!

HOTCUP ~ Welcome Home !! Hope you had a wonderful trip.

To all the other PICs.. hope you are doing well and enjoying your Friday !!

Well I better get to it. I will check back later, so hope everyone has a great day.. stay OP.. stay strong.. drink your H2O... and keep on keeping on !!

~~Sunshine~~ 06-17-2005 11:48 AM

Hello ladies!!

I am feeling great today because .....DRUMROLL please...... I have lost 40 pds yes 40 pds!! 3 more pds this week made my 40!! woohoo!!!
WOW I never thought I could made it this far and the good part is it has been so easy!! I have not missed anything I like!!

Anyone tried the new "Right Bites " from Keebler? They are little packs of cookies that are only 100 calories and 3g of fat!! They are soooooooo good!!

Have a great weekend ladies and keep it up we can and will do this!!!

angel-eyes 06-17-2005 11:55 AM

Thanks for all the support ladies. I know I'm a bored and stressed (anytime) eater so that is part of my problem. It started with scheduling a legal ww snack and then it was 2.....to more than I know I should have. Journalling is a way to keep an eye on it but ultimately it is eating when I am hungry and not mindless snacking!! See I know these things, but at times I don't even listen to myself. Thanks for all the reminders though, and today is already a better day!!!

Mom......Do you stretch at all? Stretching those calf muscles and flexing your foot will do wonders for your feet. I have heel spurs (cramping in the heel/calf) and I lie on my back with one leg raised straight up and then rotate my ankle and stretch my calves keeping my leg straight. (I think you get the idea)....also standing on the edge of a step and going up and down on your toes will also help. Hope this helps you.

Clipclop........enjoy your day off!! and a Friday at that!!! woohooo

AnnieRn.........YEAH!!! FOR YOU!!! :cp: Here's a little dance for you. :cb: :cb:

Petra..........you are so right!!! I'm going to let you be my voice of reason and my concscience for the day!! I am worth the effort!!! :queen:

Hi Everyone,
Well, today is going....I havn't had a chance to get in my excersie but i'm hopeing to soon. My son had a 1/2 day at camp so I had to skip the gym and am at home with him. Maybe I'll do my step tape.
Mom- what kind off foot pains are you havning? I had a pain right down from the 3rd toe through the top of my foot it would hurt any time I stood waked ect.... but it was because of my extra weight, once I lost about 15 pounds, it has gone away but, I do have another foot ailment, my toes get numb when I excersise I am getting that checked out next week. I don't want it to be something perminent so I'm hopeing I can get an insole or something. It is kind of a catch 22 but I'm sure loseing the weight will help its just so hard to do it with out working out.

Angle, I do the mindless snacking a lot. I think journaling is good but I totally understand how you are feeling. You are not alone.

Clip, good luck on your classes.

Mary, yeah, you are back, how was the beach?? Ihope you had fun for all of us.

I got to run, my son wants to play with me. I'll catch up with everyone else later.

Jennie - I can't really explain the pain except to say it feels like I'm walking on something that makes pain radiate up into my foot. I tend to walk on my toes when I first get up in the morning and when I have been sitting until it feels more comfortable to use me whole foot. I am going to the doctor at 2:30 today so I will let you all know what he says.

I have had this for awhile that's why I think it is the weight. It has just been sooo much worse since I started exercising.

curlylocks 06-17-2005 03:44 PM

MomX sounds like a heel spur to me.. is it worse when u first get up in the am? u can get those dr scholls inserts for your shoes... :dizzy:

if it is a heel spur they can give u a shot in ur foot... they also make orothotic inserts for your shoes.. but in the meantime try the dr scholls for extra padding ..

are u wearing good shoes when u work out or walk? i like ryka shoes for walking becuz they are made wide across the toes.. and i have a wide foot..

curlylocks 06-17-2005 04:07 PM

Angel I have noticed that the more protien i eat the less .. I am hunrgy and craving between meals..

but i agree you have to have scheduled snacks for your self... And i Have noticed that after cutting out white flour, and cutting back on sugar that i dont have those ravenous eat everything attacks...

i use the whole wheat wraps for my sandwiches, and believe it or not i have lost all my desire for pasta... something i thought i would never see happen cuz i mainly ate pasta before startin this journey

I really do believe its the type of food as much as the calories.. that make u overweight... ive been reading about the gylcemic index of various foods

but i would say try to eat more protein

momX3 06-17-2005 04:29 PM

Curly - Yeah worse in the morning. Sometimes I wonder how I make it to the restroom without wetting myself. But I have it in both feet. Is that normal? The left is worse but the right is bad to. Yes I wear New Balance to exercise.

curlylocks 06-17-2005 05:27 PM

Yep that sounds like heel spurs for sure! and yes u can get them in both feet... i guess i would say it feeels like u are walking on top of a big rock when u wake up...

better go see a podiatrist... I got a shot of cortisone in mine and it has stopped hurting..

MoonRay 06-17-2005 05:56 PM

Angel- have you tried cleaning out your pantry and replacing the junk with healthy snacks? I picked up some Fruit Popscicles 15 cals each sometimes when I want something and I'm really not hungry I just want to snack I get those. Don't worry though, it's hard to get a hang of it but if you work on it little by little you'll get it! just don't deprive yourself of too much. I know sometimes you just want to quit, but think of how much healthier you're going to be once you reach your goal.

MoM- I agree with CurlyLocks, maybe you should try some insoles they really help me out with my foot problems. And maybe 3 times at curves is enough for now, try just curves and your diet for a while I'm sure you'll still lose weight.

Sunshine- WOW :bravo: :cp: :cp: :cp: KEEP IT UP! :D

Well, I was going to post yesterday but all of a sudden the whole house started shaking and I turned the computer off just incase there was a power surge. :( I guess we were due for some earth quakes. School is going good I'm learning some medical billing and coding for now and general stuff, I start taking my requirements in Fall. I just have to remember to take my water and a healthy snack!

I hope everyone is doing good, even if you haven't lost as much weight as you would have wanted, the main thing is that you are trying and getting yourself healthy. We have to do this one LB at a time and try not to let our emotions dictate how we eat.

Evening everyone-

Had a pretty good day. Ate the leftover gumbo (man that stuff is filling), but I cut down on the rice tonight, so for the day, I'm just at under 1000 calories. I haven't yet exercised today. I was going to mow the lawn, but it's blazing hot out there right now. :flame:

Mom- I think Curly is right. I had heel spurs many years ago and talked to the podiatrist that consulted with the hospital I worked for. He told me to make sure I had really, REALLY good shoes, and the inserts might be all you need. I very rarely have a problem with it anymore, as I've learned that great shoes are worth the $$$$$.

Angel- How's your day going? Good, I hope. I was also a "bored", "stressed-out", "lonely" eater. I just make sure to keep busy. Coming here has really helped. I like reading a lot of the posts. Great information, plus when I'm really bored, I'll either pop in a great DVD or read.

Sunshine- Way to go on the 40 lbs! :cp: Seems like a long way away for me, but I hope to get there, too!

Moon- What is it again you're going to school for? Sorry if I've asked this already, but my brain sometimes short circuits. :dizzy:

Ugh, I have 3 teenage boys in the house tonight. FUN, FUN, FUN! :sp: I hope I live to see tomorrow!

Mom-the other thing you could have is plantar fascitis. There is this sheet of connective tissue on the bottom of your foot that can get inflamed if you are on it too much. I got this during residency and it hurts like heck! Every time you get up from a sitting position you think you are going to scream but after you have been walking for a few minutes it gets a little better. Anti-inflammatory meds help some, but they can also give an injection for it. Either way, sounds like you need to get it checked out.

Curlylocks-the low carb dieting has freed me from my hunger and carb cravings too. Isn't that a nice feeling?

I have almost no food in my house and I can't get myself motivated to go to the grocery store. I ate cottage cheese and almond butter straight out of the jar for dinner. Is that pathetic or what? Talk to you guys later.

MoonRay 06-17-2005 07:01 PM

Annie- Right now I'm going to Bryman and taking Medical Admin. classes, Coding, billing and that type stuff I'll be going this fall to a community college and taking the requirements eng, math, etc. I want to major either in business or psychology or both but that will take me a whie hence the going to Bryman part. I want to get some type of certification fast so that I get a good job and afford going to school :D I know I am sort of going this the long way but I've had trouble choosing a major. :D I don't know if that made sence annie hope didn' confuse you
