Hey Everyone,

Good morning! It has been a busy posting day I see. I'm still way under the weather but not eating crazy like I did on Monday. I guess my hubby having a talk with me helped. LOL, I know he wants me to succeed for my health and for me, but dang he still has to smoke while I'm exercising. BTW I have moved my workout space so it's all good now
I sure hope alla you east coasters are doing ok with all that nasty weather.

Val~ It's so nice to see you posting. You are doing awesome GF! Is Bing being supportive for you too? I'm still amazed that this huge internet, and even within this pretty big site you saw a post with my name on it and shouted out to me! Yayyyy ((((val))))).

Curley~ I'm still praying you get your kitty back. When I moved here, my old girl kitty disappeard for weeks. Eventually she showed up on the porch tho. LOL congrats on finally getting Chai to the vet! Bet you're glad that's over. I'm excited to hear how the new workout and food plan works for you. Good Luck!!!!!

Petra~ Speaking of pets, how's Kobe? Last I remember you were having more tests on him? *L* I'm still visualizing that urin sample gathering .

Zoey~ YAYYYYYYY for the loss! You're on your way again.

Jennie~ Sounds like an awfully loooong day. Those cravings do get hard to ignore. Good for you for sticking with 'legal' sweets. I gave in to a craving for a specific hi-cal chip... and ya know it really wasn't very good. Didn't taste at all like I remember it. Maybe something really is changing in me. heheheh I'm eating, and liking my broccoli several times/week now.

Turtle~ I'm sooo sorry about squeak. I went thru that just a couple months ago. It's never an easy decision but I know my Oliver is out of pain now. Re your gift, my vote is for the DVD. Do something to make you smile. You deserve it!

Mom~ Hump day brings ME one day closer to the work week lmao!! My week is Thurs-Mon. YOu are so close to your halloween goal! I love your attitude. I'd be happy too. Good Luck with it.

AngelEyes~Smart of you to head to the library. I wish I had one nearby. I'd love to check out all the books Petra has talked about. I still plan on getting the Four Corners one soon... after hubbys shock from the new car wears down lol.

So ok, time to nap for a bit. I can't be sick anymore. We are so short handed at work. And I haven't got any of next months sales in the computer yet! Yikessss. ttfn all...

PS.. petra will you post your nut recipe again? I've been searching but my dialup is soooo slow it's taking forever to go thru each page. I'd really appreciat it. And I promise to write it down this time lol.

like friends telling me that if someone did take mallie... she is inside and comfy .. i just say ..well the jerks should have gone to the humane society like i did if they want a pet.. and bring mine back!!!

WOOHOO....what a bunch of chatty cathy's we are!!!!

Okay, I AM SOOOO PUMPED!!! Even though my scale isn't my new bestfriend lately, I am having an utterly FANTASTIC DAY!!! Its amazing how something so inconsequential can change your entire outlook. Yesterday, I went shopping (for something to do, when bored I eat so.. ..) and looked through at least 4 racks of jeans. I came across a pair that were really hot. They are the low riders with alot of distressed sections (for lack of a better word...holes,rips) with a rose pattern on one hip accented with rhinestones. WELL.....ran out of time so I didn't try them on right away, forgot the bag in the car and remembered today. I tried them on AND THEY FIT!!! They are 2 sizes SMALLER than I normally wear!!!! I know, I know....BUT THEY FIT!!!! Hahaha....I'm strutting around like Britney Spears,Madonna or Cher (take your pick) What an awesome deterant for how NOTto over eat while wearing them. God help me if I wash them......BUT THEY FIT ME NOW!!! HAHAHA...**evil laugh**

Angel-you are so funny!

Iwmonn-here it is again. It's actually George Stella's recipe
1 cup pecan halves
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup splenda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
4 tbsp butter or margerine

Mix up all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Melt the butter in a large heavy skillet, then throw the dry ingredients in. Toss gently for 3-4 minutes until lightly toasted and all the butter is absorbed. Becareful not to cook for too long or they will burn. Then put them back in the bowl to cool. Each serving is 1.5 oz and 2 grams of net carbs. It is awesome warm too.

Kobe doesn't have Cushings or Addison's. It turns out that his water consumption is at the very high end of normal. The vet is going to talk to a specialist to see if we need to do any more tests on him or just let the poor dog be. The biggest problem is him waking me up two or three times each night to go out to pee.

I don't know if I mentioned this before but I am seriously considering giving out raisins this year instead of candy for Halloween. I am having a hard time justifying giving out junk when obesity is the number one health problem among children. What do other people think about this? I have mixed feelings about Halloween anyway but I usually do give out candy.

Hi Petra. I had a neighbour who was a dentist, and she gave out toothbrushes every year. Another idea, is to go to the dollar store and get some cute pencils, erasers, stickers and tie a baggie up with ribbon. It would depend on how many kids you get, or I've even seen huge bags of plastic spider rings, glow in the dark skeletons etc. 'Oriental Trading' magazine has alot of fun stuff, but time is of the essence. Try looking them up on the web. On some stuff, they have qty's of several dozen per bag. Just an idea.

hahahaha rofl!!!! Great story Angel! YOu must feel awesome. *sigh* I remember the days when I could shop when bored. hehe all the shops around here are for the tourists and wayyyyy out of my range. Just as well. Congrats to ya Brit..... er AngelEyes

Petra~ I think raisins are a good idea. As long as the little boxes are individually sealed. I seem to recall last time I got the individual sizes they weren't. Little doo-dads are always fun too. Glad to hear Kobe is ok. Hmmmm... I saw somewhere a dog using a litterbox??? Oh and TY so much for the recipe again. I'm going to make them tomorrow if I go to work. How many servings does that recipe make?

again

Turtle I'm sorry to hear about your kitty. I know what it's like to loose a furry family member.

I work for adopt a pet in chicago and right now i'm fostering two kitties and someone actually called to see them tonight! I think she's going to come tomorrow so hopefully I found a good home for at least one of them!

If anyone is interesting in seeing my foster kitties click here an they're at the bottom. Tootsie Roll and Milkeyway http://www.adoptapet-il.net/pickapair.htm

Curly-that is wonderful news. You might want to think about getting her a collar and a tag just to be on the safe side.

iwmonn-that recipe makes a lot of servings. probably 12 or more. you could half it if it is too much. I like to have it around.

I made something yummy for breakfast this morning that I haven't had since I started low carb. I had creamed chipped beef. I'd never made it before. I used carb countdown milk and oat flour and served it over low carb toast. It still turned out to be like 19 grams of carbs but I'm sure that's a big improvement over the original.

Kobe is trying to sit on my lap while I type. He is such a big baby.

I have off tomorrow so this is my last day of the week. YEAH!! I have my yearly female exam scheduled and the electrician coming to do some work on the house. I'm also planning to clean out the closets to make room for some new clothes in smaller sizes.

Red face What great news

Curly, I'm so happy your baby came back. I know I should have been more positive, but I didn't think you'd see her again. I'm so glad I was wrong. Kiss her for the turtle too. I'm so happy for you, buddy.

Howdy All, another Indian Summer day!!

Curly: Yippeee your kitty came home!!
Turtle: Sorry to hear about Squeek.. hugs
Valerie: I had to click on the page..I could of taken all those kitties home with me...and a dog or two..too!!
Petra:I remember having chipped beef as a kid. I have been doing good on the eating end of WW.. exercise has been so-so..probably I will have a huge loss then. LOL If I don't exercise I lose!! I continue to exercise because it does help my sizes go down. I am in a very comfortable size 16 pants and a XL shirt.. neither I have been in for a while..well the XL shirt but it was a tshirt so that doesn't count. LOL
Iwmonn: I found little packages of popcorn. THey were minibags that they can pop in the microwave. That is what I gave out last year. I am not going to be home this year so I bought a bag of dumdums. M doesn't need the candy and either does dh or I.
Angel: I love Oriental Trading. THey have some great stuff!! I usually use them for M's party supplies....this year I decided I am not spending the extra giving out party bags. I am paying for them to play at the gym for 2 hours.. I am not doing both. A post on my adoption list talks about bday parties... um..it is the funniest thing I have ever read..it is what parents really think about kid parties. LOL (ok..my rant on bday parties for kids and keeping up with teh Jones') It does feel great to get into a smaller size.
Zoey:Congrats on the lost.
Jennie: How are you doing?

I know I am forgetting some..but I am swamped at work. I will try to check in later..I am going to the Taste of Home today.. Dh is the Master of Cermonies and I have to take pics.(I am not staying the whole time) M got her first report card and did very well...we have teacher conference tomorrow. I stepped on the scale earlier and was closer to 215 than to 220..which is good.. (this was after breakfast) so I think I am on the downward turn again. I am not stressing about the WL..I am taking it one day at a time.
