Debbie~I love the fullness of my life. I dont love it when it gets full of the must dos.I had a girlfriend who would say to me when I got frustrated with others, not everyone has the drive to do the stuff you do. But to me a lot of it is necessary and the other stuff is good for my soul. I had a hard time learning that couch potatoes etc had a right to be who they were too. My hubby is a doer too. His prorities are a little different than mine, lol!
For me I had to learn to really look at what mattered in my life now and let go of a lot of the past. It was hard to do. I am very sentmental and loyal. I thought I could sqeeze it all in and I made myself sick. Always learning.

Susie~ you have an awesome day!!!! You rock!! See ya tomorrow.

Jodi~ glad you are still in a positve mode. it is rubbing off!!
I had a good morning yesterday. I did everything I set out to do except I had cheese and crackers for lunch.
The babysitting kids went home at 12:30. I had a soak in the tub, watched my soap and folded laundry, filed my feet and had a tea. At 2 I dusted and vacuumed, got food prepped for supper and the kids came home.
I went to TOPS. My weight was the same as last week!!! I was certain I was up from new years eve. So, I am still up 2 over the hols but I can deal with that.
Busy morning. DS is learning about Japan in school. DH went to Japan in 89 and we have an ongoing friendship with a family there. Hense, we have tons of japanese stuff at out fingertips. DS decided he had to take some today. I gathered some of this morning. Wrote an explaination and drove DS and 3 others to the school. All this on 1 coffee and no breaky!
Right now the 2 girls are outside playing and the babe is cruising around the house.
I have had a banana but need another java!!
We didn't get any snow yesterday but is sleeting quite nicely now. It is slippery out. DH came home. Maybe he will tile!!! finger crossed!
My folks just signed in for IM. WE have had a blast with this. My sis is on too. Mom and Dad are side by side on their computers. We all chat. It is a hoot. Silly at times.
Must go brighten their morning!!

good morning chicks!!
i hope you are all doing well today. i am in good spirits again today, it has been a busy but very good week. i got up again early and did the video. that is 4x this week. i met my little goal!! i am so excited!!! i was always under the impression that i couldn't get up any earlier just for exercise but i tried it and i CAN do it!! it gives me such a positive look on the day! too bad i was too stubborn to try this sooner. my biggest proble with exercising in the evening after work is it hipes me up too much and i don't sleep well after, so getting up early has liked that problem. food has been good this week, water is also good. i am doing this!!!

holly- glad my 'tude is rubbing off on you. we can all do this together!! good for you with only a 2 lb gain over the holidays!! you can get that off in no time!!

debbie- glad you are feeling better. i had the same problem yesterday at work with wet socks! had a darn chill all day. i brought extra socks today just in case. hope you keep getting better!!

to everyone else have a super day!!! we are all in this together!! stay focused and plan!!

Hey everyone....you all are seeming so upbeat. I'm having a bit of a hard time right now...DH and I are just so confused about the future (jobs, education, etc). Yesterday I fell down my front steps on my way to work and just decided to stay home. I feel okay, just my back is a little stiff. I know I need to go to the chiropractor.

just need to head back to the gym again. It is always nerve wracking in January when there are tons of new members. I get very self concious because I was comfortable with the people who were regulars before the holidays. Now I have to deal with tons of eyes on me now. What terrible thinking.

I really have highs and lows when it comes to weight. Sometimes I am the kickboxing/elliptical machine QUEEN and sometimes I'm this very self concious girl who can't keep her head held high and looks at the floor. How crazy.

Just three pounds a month...that's IT.

I'm actually considering joining weight watchers again. I haven't been there in LONG time. I used to go at 7am on Saturday mornings. I'd get up early, hit the gym super early and head in to WW for a weigh in. I just get so scared of trying to make a committment. But to be honest, I'm having major troubles eating in moderation, and WW is good at giving you a cap and helping you plan your days.

Or, i could just start journaling again.

Hi all. Thought maybe I could join your ranks in the quest for that elusive 199. I've been hanging around 3FC for a while now, posting here and there, but I tend to be shy of joining up with anything. But I am slowly realzing that the whole "get support from others" thing is awfully important.

Bit about me: I'm 26, live outside Boulder, CO, have an awesome supportive lifepartner, teach college english, publish a literary magazine, write postmodern experimental poetry and prose, do a bit of improvisational acting. Have been steadily gaining weight since I was eight, with no signifigant weight loss ever (despite my random efforts). I'm now at about 243 (gotta get a better bathroom scale) and am tired of watching that number creep up every month. So. Here goes. I'm not doing any specific program yet. My main goals now are eliminating resturant food (damn that awesome Indian resturant with free delivery!) and increasing exercise.

Sigh. If only reading poetry burned calories.

Welcome spores. I am an arty/lit gal too. Physical activity does NOT come naturally to me.
It is all a journey. My starting weight was 243. I am down to 230. Took a year, a lot of tears and some loving support here.
I did read yesterday that to lose weight and keep it off, people who lose around 10 lbs a year will keep it off for life. That was heartening.
Take care!

Hi Ladies,
Holly- Great picture and a beautiful family!
Welcome spores. You are joining a terrific, supportive, motivated bunch here so you have come to a great place.
Girlie- Hang with it. You will get there. How about breaking it out into really small goals for you to accomplish daily. Like one time when you do eat a meal or snack in moderation. If moderation were easy we would all be thin. Hang tough, get to the gym, have one small eating success a day. Who cares what people think at the gym and to be perfectly honest noone is really looking. Everyone there is into their own thing. Feel good about yourself for going!
Jodi- You have the complete package going on right now- Great Job! You are an inspiration.
Debbie- Glad you are feeling a little better. Hang in there. We can do this.
Susie- I really admire your dedication to exercise especially on a cold, rainy night. Great work!
I have had a good day today. I kept myself busy at my own pace and it helped keep me OP. I moved more and got a lot done. We got buried in snow and some ice so the kids were off today and yesterday. They only went 1 day so far this week! Hopefully tomorrow.
Have a great night!
Suzy

TGI....Tuesday!! Well, after 4 Mondays in a row I am thrilled it is Tues!
I was lazy, lazy, lazy yesterday and loved every minute. I spent ALL day on the puter or reading. My butt got sore, lol.
DH was home. I had 3 easy kids here. The house was basically clean. DH made the kids lunch.??!!! The baby had 2 3 hour naps. The girls played outside.
Had a light supper. Read with the kids and then read for a few more hours on my own. Very cool.
I am feeling refreshed and ready to go.
DS is home today. It has been an anxious week for him. He hasn't been obnoxious for a change but very stressed. He has the runs and couldn't stop crying. So he is home in his room playing quietly or reading. If he causes grief or is rude to me, no hockey tomorrow.
I was good posting the pic.I was nervous but it was a big step for me in being comfortable with who I am and accepting myself as a beautiful person regardless of the exterior self.Thank you for the kind feed back.
It was a fun thing to do for the folks. They went bonkers.I have my copy leaning on my fireplace mantle. It makes me smile every day. I love seeing the pics of others here too.
Not much going on today. 4 kids here. Tidying to do.
Books to read, LOL.

Food had been okay. I have been snacking a bit night. Not outa control but have a wee something. Want to stop that. Maybe next week will be easier.

Suzy~ busy at your own pace and OP!!!!!!!!! You rock!!

Girlie~((((big hugs))))) Hope your back is feeling better. Write down your ideas about the future, then do pros and cons, talk it out. It helps to see it on paper.Hope today is feeling brighter.

Susie~ How was your Thursday??

Jodi~ YOU ARE DOING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great post. WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!! Jodi ROCKS!!!!!!

Mornin' Debbie~ Hope your long day was uneventful and you are over the cold.

Spores~ How was your day?

Good day everyone. It's FRIDAY!!!

I'm feeling much better today. It was around 9.30p last night that I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep for a while and I decided to take my energy to the gym. I was anxious going back after not being there for three weeks, but I did it and kicked some butt on the elliptical machine. I went for 50 strong minutes and went for 3.9 miles. I came home close to midnight and DH gave me a great back massage and I konked out! Today I am feeling the soreness in my back from my fall down the steps.

I felt so empowered on the elliptical. If only I can go for 10 more minutes...one hour...and do that five times a week, it would be awesome. I am also kind of thinking that working out at night might be the best for me. That's when I was losing weight, and I am not so groggy and seem to work harder at night and don't have to keep glancing at the clock so I have time to get ready for work. Not sure what I'm going to do but I'm definitely motivated. I did get on the scale and it's sad...I gained five pounds over the holidays. It will be gone soon.

Holly:
You are adorable and of course you should have posted your picture. What a great picture too! It's so nice to put a face to a name! The beach is so beautiful it looks fake!

Suzy:
Thank you for the encouragement. I am definitely enthused at this point. It's just a matter of getting up and doing it.

Spores:
Welcome...I'm glad you came and please stay! Maybe you can get me writing again. I'm a poetry person too and my style is a free prose: http://ivomitwords.diaryland.com
I would LOVE to teach college english...I'm jealous!

hello everyone!
i hope you are all doing well today! i didn't get up early to exercise this morning on purpose and i really felt the difference. i thing this will be my new routine get up and get it done before work. it was my half day of work today. it is getting so busy there that i'll soon have to give up my afternoon off but i will enjoy them while i can. kids are going to their fathers tonight so DH and i will have a nice dinner and some much needed alone time. yahoo!! the weekend is here!!!

holly- thank you!! i hope DS gets feeling better quick! sounds like you had a great day yesterday hope the weekend is good to you too!!

girlie- wow good for you going out to exercise in the evening!! we all have to keep at it until we find what works for us. i just recently discovered i can exercise if i do it first thing in the morninig who would of thought?? i was up 5 from the holidays too working my way back down again! we can do this!! i am doing a sort of home WW jodi's version. i needed a little change from calorie counting. i think most of the WW's have free registration going on right now. journaling is great too. whatever you decide good luck!! you really can do this!! we are all in it together!! hope your back gets feeling better soon!

suzy- good for you getting more movement in!! little steps is all it takes! keep up the good work!!

spores- nice to meet you! hop right in!!

i wanted to share a little tip with all of you. i love sweets (no big surprise) anyway... i started buying myself my own little treats once in a while, but i only buy cookies that come in mini size. so far i have tried vanilla wafer minis you can have 18 i think and teddy grahms makes a mini choc chip graham they are really good and a serving is like 53. they are not sugar free or low fat but it is a nice treat once in a while. you can have a larger number of them and it seems to satisfy me more than the regular size stuff. mind over matter i guess. have a great weekend dear friends!!

ps here is a pic of me from a few months ago at work. it is tiny and i don't think i attached it right but you get the idea.

Smile Weekend At Last!!

Glad this week is over. things were hopping at work. I work at auto auction. I forgot how many acres it is but there are between 15-20. We use a golf cart some but mostly we walk. Its
not flat there are hills. I tried to use a pedometer to see how much I really walk the 3 days I work but I stop, turn and bend so often its not acurate.
But that was exactly why I took such a strange job. I love being outdoors. IT SURE WASNT THE PAY! LOL.
I have a lot to do today, going to try my new watp. pick up some on the house, then take the dog 33 miles to the vet's.

Girlie: great workout, 50 mins WOW!! that should also help loosen your back.

Jodi: I agree with the mini sized snacks. If i just have to have chocolate I eat a kiss or 2. and that
does the trick.

Spores: welcome, glad to have you here.

Holly: great pix, everyone looks so happy. Its great that when you have
quite time that you do nice things for yourself.

Susie1965-Suzy: Hello

everyone enjoy your day

BIG HUGS TO ALL

Afternoon chicks!

Mt whole day went upside down. The boys were up at 6am for hockey and I was up for a bit and then back to sleep. DD played for a couple of hours on her own.I was supposed to leave at 9 to go and give my Grandma a perm. That is when I rolled outa bed.I tidied up the house. The boys came home plus one for a sleepover and I headed out for groceries. Now, DH has gone up north to see some buddies. The kids are watching a movie.
I am definitely feeling rested. I will putter away at some housework. Making tacos for supper.
I have challenged myself to a no cheese week starting today!! Feel free to ride my butt and give me **** if I slip up. I should be able to do this 1 thing.

Debbie~ I think your job sounds great.I have always liked nonconformist jobs and I love being on my feet. Money isn't everything.Hope the watp was a success.

Girlie~ good for you for going to the gym!!

Jodi~ your night out sounds so nice. DH and I dont get enough alone time but we are getting better at it.I've done my planning and shopping and I suppose I will clean. It is wonderful to hear you so focussed and happy!!

I am feeling all warm and fuzzy about my little family today!! What a nice feeling.

Hello Everyone,
I thought I would make it here yesterday but I didn't. However, your ears should've been burning because I was talking about all you great gals last night to a friend that I was having dinner with. She told me that I'm looking great and what kept me going. So I told her about all of you and all the support I get here.

I'm doing ok with the food. I've kept all cookies, except animal crackers out of the house, so if I'm tempeted to have something sweet I have to go out and buy it. I'm not usually up for the extra trip out.

I had a 3/4 lb loss at my TOPS weigh-in. It felt great to be headed in the right direction.

The first night of school went well. I've got homework to do tomorrow with my tutor. Because it was the first night of class we got out a little early, so I headed to Wal-mart to look around. I found some exercise clothes on sale! The pants were $9.00 each and the tops were $8.00 each. I bought 3 of each. It was sort of my little present to myself out of my 1st check for my new job. Now I need to start saving more..but this one time..I just had to splurge. It's going to feel good to go to the gym sporting new clothes..that fit. My old stuff had really gotton to big and it was all faded.

I caught up on reading all the posts. I'm not going to be able to respond to each of them (DH wants to head to the grocery store in just a little bit and I'm going to...we spend enough time apart as it is!)

Holly & Jodi: I love seeing your pictures.

Debbie: How's the cold? Aren't you lucky to have a job that helps to keep you in shape!

Girlie:How are you feeling after falling down the steps. I sure hope you are ok.

Ok ladies..got to run. I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

Susie
