Good morning Everyone,
I was able to get up this morning and start the day out with a fresh clean attitude! I've told my boss my decision and it went really well. Now, I'm looking forward to starting my new job in just a week. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time!

I had my weigh-in last night. Down 2.5 lbs! I'm in a new set of numbers! I work on this weight-loss 10 lbs at a time. So, that's my focus...those next 10 lbs coming off.

Jill: Yeah! You went for a walk! Didn't it feel good? I want to see the new Bridget Jones movie also. We are going tonight to see Christmas with the Cranks tonight. That looks so funny!

Slim: It's so cool to have a guy here with us!

Holly, Jodi, Nan, Girlie, Debbie and anyone else I've missed I hope you are doing well. Looking forward to seeing all your posts.

Labchick: Congrats on getting below 230! It's so difficult for me! I hope the next 30 pounds drop off quickly for you!

Slimmings: Welcome! My kickboxing class is more of a Tae Bo sort, but it's still rather effective. I'm SO sore today, especially my upper calves. I will have to take it very easy tomorrow in class. They do a lot of jumping jacks and a lot of jumping in general. I am going to stretch a lot. What part of the UK are you in?

Greenlass: Hello! I like Hugh Grant's roles as well. Did you About a Boy, Notting Hill or Love, Actually? All very fun movies of his. Love, Actually is one of my favorites.

MyChoice: Congrats on the 2.5 pound loss! And Congrats on the new job! Such new thing happening in your life!

Yikes my calves are so sore. I'm having apple slices and no sugar rice pudding for breakfast. Not sure about the rest of the day.

Hope you all are well. I know I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend.

Girlie

Good afternoon!
It is a school holiday here. The grade 8 boy didn't work out. So I took 6 kids to the early years centre and then out to lunch at a local diner.Nice not to mess the kitchen up.They are all playing quietly and soon 3 will be off to nap.
I went to bed at 9 last night. I am afraid I am getting the virus DS had. I am popping echinacea and vitamin c.
Lots of hockey stuff tomorrow. I really want to decorate for christmas. My border is in for the back hall and shelves are painted so I need to put that together.
Both kids had outstanding reports from their teachers too!!!! I am thrilled. My son is not an easy child but he is doing very well.
I ate well yesterday and so far today.
No extra exercise this week.I will try for some this weekend.

HUGS and a BIG HELLO to everyone. Sounds like we are all rolling into the weekend on a good note!!!

Debbie:
Whoo Hoo on going to the rally! Let's make 2005 a year for many new beginnings!

Slimmings:
I'd love to visit England, outside of London. I was in London this time a year ago and liked it, but it was so big-cityish and everything moves so fast. Plus, it is hard to find larger sized clothing there, especially since a women's US size 18 is a UK size 20. All the stores I went into only sold up to a size 20UK and barely fit - where do people who wear larger sizes shop? I did go to a secondhand store and found a lovely wool duffel coat that I just love.

Holly:
I have trouble with the water. Maybe we could make that a goal this week.

I think I mentioned to everyone that I am in a Healthy Heart Group. It's a program through one of the local hospitals and a group of women meet each week to talk about our challenges and goals for the week...not necessarily weight loss, but just heart healthy changes. I've been making one exercise goal and one food goal each week. For example, mine was to get four workouts in and eat my full servings of veggies for at least three days this week. We kind of tailor our goals to what we're having trouble with, and we are advised to start small and gradually add on. Some people aim to have an apple or two a day...some aim to get their 8 glasses of water in a few days a week, etc.

I think I will do that on this thread starting next week. Wednesday is the last day of our class and so I'll want to continue with the weekly goals. It will be sad to leave the group...we've been together for 12 weeks!

BTW, the kickboxing is kicking my butt. I almost cried after class on Saturday. Not because it was too hard physically...because I have so much trouble getting the moves down. For example, I'll be jumping when they are moving on to squat, or I'll be kicking when they are punching. It's hard for me to listen to the instructor and watch her and predict what she's going to do next. So I'm always a few seconds behind and it's embarassing because I feel like they are all watching me and laughing. I felt like a totally fat cow the other day. All the girls are so thin, doing their perfect kicks and stuff...I felt so, so sad and never wanted to go back. But before class, I signed up for another 4 classes...I wish I had waited until I saw how the class went before I registered...but I'm determined to go to all four classes. Maybe I'll even catch on and will enjoy it. But I felt really ashamed on Saturday. I don't want to give up.

Whoosh!
We are having a freezing rain storm so all the busses were cancelled and work for DH. All the other parents still had to go. I was looking at 8 kids and Dh who was sitting on the couch barking out comments etc. I was ready to scream. I meditated instead asked for patience amd strength. DH changed his tune and was pleasant and one family stayed home.We have coloured and done crafts and now the big kids are out sliding around the yard.It has been nice.
It is almost lunch time and then nap time for 4 of them!!
I rock.
Food has been good again. Water is much better. I am usually really good with water but i was out all day Sat and wasn't prepared.I am mostly at home.
I got a big chunk of housework done last night.
All is good.
I need to make peanut brittle for a cookie swap on Friday. Dh and the kids eat most of it. If it was a cheese and cracker swap i would be in BIG trouble. LOL.

Debbie~ you are a power house!!!
Girlie~ I admire your perseverence!!

How is everyone else???

Default I hate being injured!

My knee is healing very slow, and I'm ticked off because I can't really exercise. Walking at Wal-Mart is a challenge right now. Oh well...healing's on the way, so hopefully I can pick up some exercise soon.

Girlie - You'll get those moves down. Once you start becoming familiar with the moves, it won't be any problem at all. I had that issue when I started step aerobics (w/o the step), but you get more familiar with it in time.

Jodi - Thanks for asking about the knee!

Hope everyone is doing well. Can't talk long today, so I'll write everybody again tomorrow. Blessings to you!

don't worry about being behind in kick boxing girlie just cut down the reps to keep up with everyone so if its 30 kick on each leg but you can only do 20 when everyone else moves on stay with 20 then the next time try and get in 21 thats how i started i never had any probs from the others but it was a propper fighting gym with 2 national champions in it so the fact u were there blowing out of your arse and sweating badly was enough to get there respect i went one stage futher and stepped into the ring and sparred with them to

Hi Everyone,
This is a "drive by" post. I'm so busy trying to get everything wrapped up at work before I leave on Thursday.

I'm looking forward to going to the Y tonight. I need the workout to destress!

I hope everyone is doing ok today. If not..let's take a minute and take a deep breathe and get our heads back on straight! I know I need to do this..so I just did it.

This board is so wonderful that we can come here and cheer together when we are doing well and know that when we aren't we are here to give each other a hand up.

Default Afternoon all!

Sorry I've been so remiss about posting, but things have gotten very hectic around here. I'm almost ready to start back at class and my nerves are shot. I'm hanging right at 228 and very happy about it. Only 3 lbs to go this month and I'll have reached my goal of 225. WOO HOO! I would love to be below 220 by the first of the year, but we'll see. One lb at a time.

Susie - I hope your new job is everything you want it to be.

Hevron - I hope your knee heals quickly. It's always a bummer to be limited by any injury.

Holly - We're having freezing rain here too. It sucks, but at least I don't have to drive in it.

Girlie - You'll get the kickboxing down pat in no time. It's when you are the most frustrated that the biggest breakthroughs come out.

If I've missed anyone I'm sorry.

Nan
