Rosey sooooo glad you are in your nice home...bless your heart please don't worry too much about Steve..God will take care of him. You have to recover to be able to take care of him. You ahve such great kids. I will pray for your DH! Hey you were not on the Adkins diet were you???
Donna I am so sorry that Elena is having trouble. that is so frustraiting as a mom to not be able to control or figure out how to deal with your child. Prayers to you too. We have great listening ears if you need to talk!! Mary Kay that was a good get away for you. Kudos to your hubby for talking you into going.
DANA thank you for the info...I will try to figure out the step thing...I think that is the prob...I was on teh machine today as usual and went 3.38 miles and the ped only read .6 of a mile...I don't think so... I was ready to take it back to class but I will read up on what you suggested...what are friends for...I will take a photo of the snow and add it here soon...the house is looking GREAT it is almost done being sheet rocked inside..Don said the inside looks like a house now..enclosed and not see through walls. Don is at a statistics class tonight so he is gone until 10 pm. He goes in the field tomorrow... and again in two weekends...a couple of days after my b-day.. he asked me to get a substitute to take on my class so he can take me to Chena Hot Springs for the day!!! :-)
Dana is there a reason you are walking 3/4 a mile and now 1 mile...is it hard or is that what you are working up to...? I don't want to put you down but you should be breaking a sweat and at least working out 30 minutes a day. They say that after you work out hard for 30 minutes for two hours after your body is still burning calories... i completely understand if taht is all you can do right now. I began a few minutes a day in Jan and have worked it up to what I do now...usually 3 -4 miles a day and 30-45 minutes...and then the sauna is nice too...
It is teacher conference week so I am rushed to work out..but just cut the sauna out instead of cutting short the work out.
Summer hop;e you have a great time this weekend doing the gig.
That is awful that those classes are not until Dec...that is so weird...Dec that is the end of 2003!! Time flies huh??? My hubby jsut told me today taht we are approved to stay here in AK until July 05! That is 6 months later than what we were supposed to do. Now praying to stay longer or get Fort Rucker AL instead of going somewhere and then having to get deployed to the war... Did you hear about teh soldier taht died last Sunday he was stationed ehre a few months ago and just died in Irag... Ugh I don't like the military anymore for families...
Well better run.
hey to Kris, "ken", Summer, Rosey, Donna, Dana, Dahpne, ummmm is there someone else I am missing I hope not..
chat soon...

Sheree thanks for that work out info. I have just been walking for 3 weeks now and started at a mile a day and after 3 days my legs felt like they were broke so I backed off and I'm building it up more slowly. My WW "Lets walk" book said to do 3/4 mile in 20 minutes for a week to start but I'm already walking a mile in 19 minutes so I could probably add only 1/2 mile more and be working at 30 minutes. I walk faster than most of the people there in a smaller amount of time because I can't make myself pace it better. And to top it off if I over work it too soon, I'll give it up and don't want to do that just yet. I walked a mile today and my ped. said .6 I don't understand it quite yet. I had my stride set at 16" today so I have it set for 18" tomorrow to see. I paid too much money for it to not act better than that.

Rosey thanks for explaining. A brain bleed sounds serious to me. I hope that everything is fine fast. I had staples with my c-section 8 years ago. I had them in 5 days and then removed. Then they only put real thin strips of tape on after that. I felt more uncomfortable then cause I felt it wasn't healed enough for that. When Brett had surgery at 5 weeks old they only put a piece of tape on him and he never had stitches or anything. That was frightening to me. Anyway, I'm not sure exactly how many staples I had but my incision went from hip bone to hip bone. It was twice as big as the normal.

Well I thought I would comment that much & I'll get back on later. I done something to my little finger yesterday and it feels broke although DH says probably not. It hurts to type anyway. Have a good thursday.

Good morning..
have a busy day planned...
we had school off yesterday due to the freezing rain...school is never cancelled even if it snows feet and feet and is -60 out but a little freezing rain and the town goes in a panic...funny!! i went out it was not that bad..
DH has a physics final today and an Aviation Legislation final next week and then he is still doing a statistics class one day a week for 4 hours... uggh! We hung out a lot the first 5 years of our marriage...no kids...spent a lot of money and never completed our education.. But Don feels he needs to do it NOW>. He has one more class and he is done..
We pray we can get Fort Rucker but the Army will send us where they want us to go unless we time it right and put in the right paper work and the right job is open for him to do...it is all up to God!
Just got off the tread mill...I was bad and didn't end up on the tread mill yesterday..so went a bit farther today...1 hour today..
The ladies told me at WW taht I needed to take the Pedometer out to a football field where I know it is measured and walk and pace my stride...too much work for me.. I need to read my directions again...the foot ball fields around here are snow covered..
Going to go to the house today and take some more pictures..
Well need to go get my nails done so better get in the shower..
Chat soon...

Oh my gosh I hae lost so much here. Rosey I am truly so sorry for not reading sooner and knowing what was going on please forgive my dear sweet friend. I am so happy that the DH is home as well now.
Dana I am so very proud of you for walking again. Take it slow and easy so you do not get discouraged hun. How is the CHristmas shopping going? How is Brett doing lately? What about Logan and his attitides?
Sheree I am such a dork. I did not realise that your DH was still in the servise I guess. Hey I would love yor to get stationed out here in Washington near me! I fotget the names of them but they are just outside of Olympia. Thank you so much for the recipees. I was just telling Jason that I wanted a Chili recipee that was good.
Summer how have you been? What kind of movies do you like? How is Jim feeling? Has he been losing any weight? WOw I just ealaised that you said he is going back to work! What a blessing that is to both of you.
Kris I hope that the packing isn't to painful. If you need to vent about being *single* again just let me know hun.
Glen how have you been doing? How is the cabin? I would love to have a cabin to escape off to.
OK we are going to Jasons parents in 2 weeks. I am not thrilled bout it but hey at least I wil get to see my hubby that way. We are also planing a trip to go shopping in Mexico. I am excited about that. It was 27* here yesterday morning and the morning before. I took the kids trick or treating last night for like 90 minutes. I was freezing but Robert had a blast. It was the first time he has ever gotten to really do it like we did.
I promiss to keep beter in touch with you all and I love ya!

So daphne will you be home for christmas this year if you're leaving so early to go to the inlaws?? My christmas shopping is coming along fairly well. The boys are getting a gamecube this year from my grandparents so I've been trying to win some new games on ebay for it. We have a playstation 2 but it's mine and DH's and I wanted them to have something for their room. Brett is doing fine. Halloween wasn't a bad issue here for anyone cause I really don't do anything for it anyway. If it wasn't for my church of God mother inlaw, my boys probably never would have trick or treated in the past. I thought it was really sweet of this girl in brett's class to give him a whole bag of sugar free reese's cups for halloween. It's not carb free but allows him to have some chocolate without a big affect on his sugar. Does Jason like any of that candy?

Sheree you'll be please to know that i walked 33 minutes today. I've increased to 1 1/2 miles. I'm going to stay there for a while before increasing it to 2 miles. The whole family went today and while they didn't quite walk the entire way with me, there is playground equipment there. My pedometer read a little bit better today. I wore it more on my hip than I usually do. It's normally closer in on my waist.

Rosey I guess you won't be bingo-ing today will you? I hope that you are completely better real soon. Can you believe how fast the holidays are getting here?? Will your DH get to complete the hope chests??

Summer enjoy your soup today. Is it as warm up there as it is down here? It's at least in the 70's today. I broke a bad sweat in no time while walking earlier.

Donna how to halloween go with you? Did anyone watch the marathon coverage today? I just can't believe people can run that far. That's amazing. I would literally die if I had to go even 1/4 that at this point.

Well the race is fixing to start. I hope you all have super sunday with your families today.

Hello Everyone... Its been a gorgious day today.. and in the upper 70's..I was gonna fix soup and changed my mind cause it was to hot for soup.. I did a chicken casserole instead..It was good..Maybe later I will do soup.. I dont know how long this wonderfull weather will last but I am hopefull..Tomorrow is the first day back to work for Jim.. He has mixed emotions about it.. He wants to go back but then wishes he was retired too..so I said I know that NO One really likes to work but I am sure that getting out of here and around some guys will do him a world of good...Plus he needs to get into the groove again..We are going to walk at the track tomorrow to see if we can get around it at least 1 time ..I am hopeful.....I beileve he needs to exercise everyday to help his diabetes...It has not been coming down as good as we had hoped but I still keep my fingers that it will..

Daphne.. I am so glad that you are back.. It sounds like a great trip for Christmas to see family then off to Mexico...WOW... I am sure you will have a great time...Jim has lost weight..About 34 pounds..He says he feels so much better but he has another 30 to go..and I have 130..no just kidden but it feels that way..I need to lose about 65-70 pounds... Thats alot..but I am hoping that if I walk as much as I can it will get my metabolism moving in the right direction...It sure is cold there..its been really nice here..Sounds like the kids had a great Halloween..How is Megan doing??? Have a great evening

Dana..I am so proud of how you have been walking..You Go Girl..
I need to do that also..I am starting my walking adventure tomorrow with DH...cant wait... I am gonna look for a pedometer at the store this week...As I am interested in seeing how many steps it takes for 1 mile.. I hope that they are not to expensive at the stores..It was beautiful here today..sounds like your weather was the same...Thats so nice that the whole family went to walk too.... Jim is watching the race right now..it got started here at 3:00pm cause its in Arizonia..but you know that I am sure ..Enjoy the race and have a great evening

Mr Ken.. I am sorry to hear that your parents sold the cabin.. I know how much you enjoyed going there..Are they gonna buy another somewhere???If you dont mind me asking..Have a great evening

Donna..I hope that things are somewhat better for you.. I hope to hear from you soon... I miss you my Dear Sweet friend.. ..

Rosey.. I hope that you are still feeling better and better and getting plenty of rest.. I dont think that you will be at Bingo tonight..but when you do go back.. I hope that you win $$$$$$$
Take good care of you my Dear Sweet Friend..

Sheree..Thanks for all the recipes..They sound really good.. Cant wait to try some of them..WOW a hour on the treadmill..Thats really something.. I couldnt do 10 minutes without falling over ..You GO Girl..Have a great evening

Heres a little something a friend sent me and I wanted to pass it along.....

People say true friends must hold hands, but true friends don't need to
hold hands because they know the other hand will always be there.

Lots of Love..To ALL OF MY WONDERFUL FRIENDS..

Summer my only advice on the pedometer is not to by the cheapest you find. I have one that was $5 from walmart and it just doesn't work that well at all. My WW pedometer is doing better but you have to adjust your stride length to get it better. I did watch the race as I know you did and I have one word for ya--SWEET!!! Go Jr!! I really wish he could have had this great success weeks ago and he would have a great chance at the championship but it looks like Kenseth has it anyway. I just didn't want him to win it cause he got the rookie of the year when it was him and Jr running for it. Then again, Jr. had 2 Busch championships so maybe it's not in his cards for this year. I wish Jim the best at work tomorrow and although you will miss him, it's always great to have that little time away from one another. you'll be surprised what you may find yourself doing while he's gone.

Well anyway, saw you posted and had to reply. I need to take my bath. Can't believe another weekend is gone. kids go 3 weeks and then have 3 days off for thanksgiving. It will be here soon enough I'm sure.
