Semi-success with the purple smoothie experiment this morning. It took some serious coaxing and a lot of silliness on my part to get my oldest grandson to even try it, but he finally did. He had no idea he was eating (drinking) spinach and celery, along with apple, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries. He thought it was just blueberries and strawberries fighting over what color it was gonna be. Strawberries want it red and the blueberries want it purple so it is "purple-y red" and "I better drink it fast before they fight more." Success will be when he drinks it without the coaxing or even asks for them - I can only hope. lol.

I had a little more sodium and carbs yesterday than I wanted, but overall a good day considering most of it was spent on the go. I did manage to stay within my calories for the day. I better get . . . I need to finish getting ready for church. Have a great day!

Ona good to see you Sorry to hear about your Mother going in the hospital is she ok? Glad she's being released today. If I'm not being too nosey what plans are you making for your Mother? Glad to hear your cold is getting better. I've had an on and off cold for a while also, thanks to my little darling
Your sister has never really been too positive about your journey so she would think that all you think about is food. Just continue to do what you're doing. Great NSV with the donut holes I would have moved my cot also to keep from smelling then and probably put them in a nice plastic bag also

Sam great job on helping and convincing your son to make that first step and good for him on seeing that there is some good to healthy He has a great example in his MOM to look up to that's for sure Good for you on the positive mindset.

Ona and Sam, I'm happy to hear that you both listen to your bodies ... I sure hope to get there some day and follow suit with the two of you

Sam, I know what you mean regarding the children. Chelle got married last year remember. She and her husband stay with us and as much as I want to see her on her own. I know I will miss her dearly. But they will only be moving 2 hours away so I think I can handle that. And of course I will blow up her phone with text messages, hehehe

Kris, nice weigh in yesterday a 2.2 whoosh Yay YOU , LOL I read your post last nice on my phone I thought that was great the purple smoothie idea. Rissa loves beets more than blueberries, interesting. And you are so right whatever works Nice work with the smoothie Still loving your Happy, your post make me smile Thanks

Amanda Good job yesterday

I woke up yesterday to 196.0 and this morning to 196.8. I didn't fully count but didn't eat so much that I can't add it in and log it later. We went to my cousins for her sons birthday party and great for me that there was a lady there doing what I'm doing. So I felt good she didn't have pizza, cake, ice cream, soda, or regular chips. She did eat some multi-grain scoops with salsa and grapes. I went prepared with my salad all the fixings and sunflower seeds. I came home and had a gyro that I made on a 5 net carb tortilla with feta, a grapefruit and 32 ounces of water.

Today I've had some eggs with ham and cheese that my middle son shared with me. And a make shift apple crepe. My oldest son was making real crepes and I wanted one so mine was a 5 net carb tortilla, a half of small apple sliced thin, cinnamon and a pack of Splenda.

Well I think my day is going well, not one complaint or issue.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone

Hey all,

I had a bad weekend, food-wise. Really, just inexcusable overeating. Boo, me. I had two good workouts though.

I'm stressed about my new job. The practice manager wants me to learn every job there, so this week I have to check in patients and call insurance companies to get benefits - plus do the financial stuff that I consider my "real" job, so I have to get in early and work through lunch. I'm not happy about it and am hoping to get an interview at another place this week (a job quite similar to my old job). I thought I was ready for a big change but apparently not.

I hope everyone has a good week!

Aw Steph, sorry about your weekend and your job. Why is it you have to learn so much so quickly? That seems odd. How long have you worked there? And what do labor laws say about not having a break in your state? That was happening to my daughter and it quickly changed when I told her to mention to them that it is not legal to work through lunch and work ten hour days with no break. Hoping for that interview for ya soon

I am sure I will get a bounce back. I was way under my calories yesterday because I fell asleep and slept through dinner. I must have been tired . . . put my feet up in the recliner late yesterday afternoon for a "little" nap and woke up 6 1/2 hours later - got up and took my bedtime meds, put on my PJs and went to bed for the night.

I will try to get back later today for personals . . . lots to do today at work.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Hello Ladies!~
survived the weekend even tho aunt flo is still with me, such a wonderful woman she is
we never did see the sun or the warm weather it was a heavy fog all weekend but my dd and i still did a moderate/difficult 3 mile hike sunday afternoon at a local state park, we had some quality girl time and i took the dogs for their 30 minute walk that evening. ive got good news after having the blues/blahs the past few days... the scale FINALLY moved DOWN for me im at 195 so thats 2lbs down for january (so far) not much i know but im tickled with it lol so that puts me 37lbs down and 45lbs to go! (not that yall cant read it on my ticker i just wanted to actually type it out lol ) my food has been on plan but like i said my exercise altho doing it wasnt being given my all and i'm going thru some personal stress that i think ive finally put into perspective and came to a conclusion so maybe ill become leveled out again and back on track. my kids told me yesterday that they are so proud of me for all my hard work and motivation and not to let anything get in the way of it and ya know what... I'M NOT! truly hope you ladies are all doing well and life is being good to you on this journey to healthy! "reminder to me" God never gives you more than you can handle and everything happens for a reason and its up to me to learn from it!

I made this tonight with my Blendtec blender. I added 6 ounces of rotisserie chicken and a can of black beans and didn't add corn or the tortilla chips (the nutritional info below is, I'm sure, based on the basic recipe). It is delicious. I am stuffed and very satisfied.

TORTILLA SOUP
A great soup for a quick supper. Pulse in corn kernels, black beans, tortilla chips or your favorite add-in for a chunky soup.

INGREDIENTS

2 Roma tomatoes, quartered
½ large carrot
1" slice red pepper, approximately ⅓ c
¼ avocado
2 tbsp onion
1 ounce pepper jack cheese
2 sprigs fresh cilantro
1 tsp no-salt herb seasoning
¾ tsp kosher salt
¾ tsp garlic powder
2 c warm water
½ c tortilla chips

INSTRUCTIONS
Add all ingredients but tortilla chips to jar in order listed and secure lid. Select "Soups." Add tortilla chips, secure lid and press "Pulse" 2–3 times.

VARIATIONS
For more texture, add ingredients such as ½ cup black beans, corn kernels, cheese, chicken, and fresh tomato. Secure lid and press "Pulse" 2–3 times or until desired texture is reached.

Kris nice weight in yesterday ... and your body most definitely needed that rest. Glad you got it Wow Kris only 60 calories is great Great job on the 2.6 down in two days. Keep on making your filling soups, way to go

Joy good going on the 195 Great children you have, looking out for MOM, love it and I too keep this in mind always ---> God never gives you more than you can handle and everything happens for a reason and its up to me to learn from it!

Amanda hears to a great weight-in tomorrow

Well my weight has been going back and forth. I back to where I started when I first decided to get back on 3FC. TOM has arrived so that doesn't help. The bloat is there. I spotted for almost a week it seems and I am not supposed to start TOM until the 19th. My body is so wacky it's not funny.

I'm glad to see everyone doing well with little to NO hiccups, that's great to hear. I'll hopefully get things in gear soon. I hope you all have a great evening and I'll see you tomorrow

Hi all,

I've been in a funk so have not been eating the way I'd like. I'm exercising daily, though, so that's helping me from continuing the upward trend.

dangerous, I hope the bad weather passes you by. It snowed all day here but didn't accumulate all that much, though the roads were bad this morning. We've had mild winters here lately, so I'm hoping for another one.

Kris, you've had a great month. Congrats!

Rennie, you'll get back on track. You know it's a process!

Amanda, that's a nice calorie burn for the day!

Yesterday was rough After eating Lunch @ Mothers yesterday I wasn't hungry but saw some cookies, junk food and wanted to eat them Man..did i have to fight not to.
I would sit somewhere where they weren't staring me in the face, that still didn't stop them from calling me.I had to go to my Brothers for a while, that was a help but when i got back..they were all still calling me.I left the room where they were, sat outside still...it was hard.

I thought about what the effects would be if I did start to eat them, didn't want to have to work extra hard to get that weight off,etc..and just fought!!!

Thankfully I made it,came home and had dinner.I don't want junk food to have such a possession over me.Some days are better than others and too i had some beans earlier, not enough protein I think and that probably caused the craving for junk.

Mother got out the hospital Sunday, been going over there everyday, exercising everyday,Church late last night..slept in this Morning.
