1st day back to the gym in 10 days! Was a hard workout after such a long break but boy did it feel good to get back in the groove. Checkup today went well, hadnt been since starting my new lifestyle change n my dr did a double take when he walked in, it was an awesome feeling! Hes ecstatic with how im going about it n said i should be a motivation speaker idk bout all that lol. But was an all around uplifting day! Hope u ladies r feeling the surge of the new year n new beginnings!

Joy, how nice of your doctor! That kind of encouragement can be such a boost.

I'm feeling a bit sore myself today, just from doing some squats and lunges yesterday. I've been doing the same sort of exercise for too long and have to remember to mix it up more.

Rennie, I'm there with you trying to cut way back on the carbs. It's so hard! Especially after weeks and weeks of eating too many sweets and cookies. I had been doing pretty well but then lost my job unexpectedly in November and reverted to my bad habits, including stuffing my face to try to smother my anxiety. I got a new job quickly (thankfully!) but it's been a stressful transition for me. I have to stop making excuses and get back to eating better so I'll feel better.

Joy well to you on the DR doing that double take ... I know that felt great. I remember those days (my family mostly). Now I hear girl what happened you did so well. Good job on getting back to the gym. I'm trying to find something to do. My husband works 2nd shift so I don't have much access to the television in the earlier part of the day, and then 15 minutes after he leaves the kids come home. I wanted to start walking in the mall but it's a little far and my husband says the gas will be costly so I don't know where to began to get moving.

Steph, good job on the squats and lunges and sorry about the soreness. I know when I finally do something, I'll be sore also. I haven't done any real exercise in forever it seems. On the carbs try months and months of just eating like junk food was going to be obsolete. I don't know what I was thinking to allow myself to get back to where I was before. It's as if I had stopped caring.
Congratulations on the new job. AND good for you on catching things before they got out of hand

Today was a good but not so good day. My calories were really low due to nausea/stomach upset. Since I am eating what I am supposed to eat I started back on Metformin but like last time it took some getting use to (about three weeks) and the nausea was overwhelming at times.

I'm gonna try for a better food intake tomorrow. I'm thinking that with my low intake today the scale may be a little nice to me. But if I get all of my calories in tomorrow it will be up again on the 4th ... we shall see.

Ok back to school for the kids so I'm up and moving. Weigh in today 195.6 that's down 1.8 from yesterday but I won't consider it as a whoosh since my calories were extremely low. I have logged my breakfast and lunch on myfitnesspal so I'm off to a good start. I just have stick with my plan. Hoping today is a little better with the Metformin.

Goodmorning, ladies! I'm a day late joining... I'll try to check in daily, but I won't be weighing myself for at least another week... I did absolutely horribly over Christmas break and am sure I went up and I'm not ready to see that number, so..... I started working out again, though. Did 35 minutes of Tread Climber last night and am back to eating OP. After a week of this I think I'll be ready to hop on the scale again. We're off to a good start so far! Here's to a successful January!!!

gmornin ladies~ woke up sore this a.m. but its all good! Thanx, usually my appts r very stressful n i have not so nice wishes for him by the end so def was a change lol! Rennie its a new year n each morning is the opportunity to do better, have faith in yourself and know that you can do this! Lets make this lucky number "13" for us all one day/month at a time!

Hi Lakilaulea, good to see you good for you on getting that workout in I'm with you regarding the scale, but once I get on once I'm hooked. I so look forward to the numbers on that scale. I know I shouldn't but I have since the first time I say 165. I can't wait to see those numbers again.

GM Joy, sorry about the soreness LOL on the wishes for the doctor sometimes . I had one doctor back in 2003 that kept asking me, "Do you know that you are obese?" I wanted to smack him I have faith but the flesh is weak at times. It's only been one day and I did well, though the nausea helped today has started out well. I had an omelet with yellow squash and zucchini. I am sipping on a cup of black tea and not feeling quite well thanks to the Metformin so I'm going to lay down for a bit.

I'm with you on the lucky "13" WE'VE GOT THIS

Thanks Rennie! I plabn to head to the gym after work today after not going for a month.. my husband just returned from Afghanistan so we are planning on going together.. I love going to the gym but with the holiday I did not manage time well enough to go. I love accountability from 3fc.

bella~ im with you i absolutely love going to the gym and feel totally uncommited when there are days i cant get there, like im letting myself down.

my eating has gotten back on track along with back to the gym and i must say im feeling so much better too! the difference in complex(healthy)carbs and simple(bad)carbs on my body is just amazing to/for me! Have a great day ladies and see you tomorrow!

Amber tell our husband I said "THANK YOU". ... I so want to join a gym or just meet someone with a treadmill that I can use (at least 5 days a week)
I love the accountability of 3FC also ...

Joy LOL that is funny. I stopped going to him and found another doctor. I would not recommend him to anyone. Joy sounds like we are doing the same thing. I'd like to hear what you are eating (sample menu please) thanks

Kris I am so glad to see you ... I needed that nudge also, I can't count the number of times I re-started just last year alone. We helped one another before we CAN & WILL do it again.
