Okay...I'm all showered, pets have been fed, and I've done all the stuff I need to do before we leave. And I still have nearly an hour before DH picks me up, so I'm going to try and read your posts a little better.
*****************
Laura - Since you're back at work this week, is it at least quiet? From hearing the plans of most of the people I work with, it's going to be a skeleton crew in my office this week.
Mel - Glad you had a weekend with little to report!! I hope there's not too much drama/stress with Richie's kids. Awww, Mellie, I'm so angry at the a**hole who told you your book was crap!! And so sad that you shredded it! Unless critics have constructive criticism that you can "take under advisement", don't listen to 'em. I'd love to hear what it was about. My book may turn out to be crap too...but hopefully not. The premise is sort of autobiographical (so far). Hey one of my fave writing teachers always said to write about what you know. Bummer about George going to the hospital. I hope he's ok.
Ceejay - Bummer that your workdays have been busy...but it makes the time pass quicker I guess. Glad to hear you have 4 days off! How exciting about your nephew's engagement and your other nephew's SO is expecting!! And congrats to your sister on the new job!! I am doing the happy dance right there with ya', sista!
Annie - I'm glad you had such a nice time with your family and the baby. It was great to talk with you yesterday. Bummer that Curtis' daughters didn't want to spend more time. There will come a time when they will regret not being more about family when they were younger. I know I do...and now I'm all about family. But I do regret not spending more time with my Mom and Dad. DMIL's sister (DH's aunt) has grandkids that are the same way...they're all adults and have their own plans/parties to attend. They show up...eat...exchange presents, get $$ from grandma and then are out the door less than 2 hours later. This year was a little better, and the grandkids actually included others in their conversations rather than just talk amongst themselves. Oh well. Hopefully, someday they'll appreciate their loved ones more. Too funny about "Latte" being a color nowadays! So cute that baby Jake will be in the wedding!! Bravo sista for getting back into diet/exercise! I'm doing pretty good with the healthy eating...though not perfect with all the holiday treats around (but I'm keeping sweets to a minimum). I'm going to get back into exercise just as soon as I can which will depend on post-procedure pain. I used to snore bad (kept DH awake). Turns out I have sleep apnea, even though I know that not all snoring is sleep apnea. Now as long as I use my mask, I don't snore at all so we both sleep better.
Shad - So nice to have your mother's tea set...and how thoughtful of the flight attendant to pack the soft backpacks around it. How nice that DS2 is building a new garden shed!! How would he feel about coming to the States this spring and building one for us? I got a chuckle out of your comment about us lot putting the month before the day!! Yup, that we do. I loved the photos! Thanks for the explanation of the statue. Chris has such a lovely garden!! And the view from Mt. Victoria is gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing the photos!!
Happy - Just saw on FB that you made it home safely. I hope you had a wonderful time with Mom and the rest of your family and friends.
Well, DH will be here soon, and then we have to leave.
Michelle - I hope the procedures for you and DH go smoothly and successfully today!! Don't worry about getting back here - just relax and be loopy from the drugs, haha.
Ceejay - Happy news re your nephews! My nephews are in their late 20's and are sweet, nice boys (they'll always be "the boys" to me, LOL) but they're still getting settled with their educations and careers - I think starting their own families is a long ways away. You must love those long weekends you get, but then again you have long workdays, don't you?
Mel - Glad to hear you had quiet over the holiday weekend.
Annie - More great news for your family - congrats on bb's engagement! Latte - hmmm. Too bad Curtis' daughters don't have much time for him. There will come a time when they'll wish they'd spent more time w/ him - hope it comes sooner rather than later or too late... Good for you planning a healthier new year, and nice you have a supporter/partner in Curtis.
Shad - Welcome back. Sounds like you had a lovely vacay. LOL coming back to a work-in-process shed/castle. Nice that the flight attendent was so careful stowing your wedgewood. Lol, you're so right, most guys wouldn't have a clue what that is. They might wonder why you need to be so careful with shims, haha.
Happy - Have you made your way back to the Northwoods yet? How long of a drive was it?
--
Back to work today. Pretty darn quiet here, and tomorrow and Friday will be even more so - admin and Sr mgr will be out both days. Boss might work from home on Friday. Me - I like when it's quiet here, and I have my quarterly work to do, so will likely come to the office even if I could do the work from home. Too darn many distractions at home, and I don't have much luck keeping the VPN connection anyway.
My time off went so quickly, certainly the 23rd preparing for company & the 24th, when bf's mum, my SIL, her sis, my two nephews, and my sis & BIL were here for dinner. That was nice and went pretty smoothly. I was happy to learn that my SIL is setting things in motion to move back to our area! Since my brother (her hub) and her mother passed in 2009, she wants to live near her sister, and still has a lot of friends back here. It would be great for my nephews to move back here too, but I'm not sure if both of them would. They've lived most of their lives in TX and have more ties here...we'll see.
Christmas Day was quiet. Bf and I watched a couple movies, including the original True Grit with John Wayne.
Monday morning I went to the Aerobics 101 class. Good sweaty class for me. It was almost all seniors, and I hope that 20 years from now I'm still going to exercise classes! I wish my mother and bf's mother were more active like that... My mother has an older sister that is very sedentary and now needs a walker because she's just not strong, so I know my mother is very aware of the need to stay active, even if it's not by doing formal exercise. Yesterday I did the Circuit class. One more punch left on my fitness passport - I plan to go to a class on Thursday night.
The rest of my time off was mostly restful, though I did pick up a few small Christmas decorations on clearance at the drugstore and did some shopping at Walmart. Took dog walks each day of my long weekend, and I saw the Sherlock Holmes movie last night with the movie gals. (It was alright, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first one. I do enjoy the interplay between Holmes and Watson. )
I'd borrowed the dvd "Tree of Life" (Brad Pitt) from the library, but bf & I didn't get much further than 20 minutes into it because it was just strange! We stopped it at that point and read a review of it and decided to just not bother watching the rest - not sure if it would get much better or if it would be more of the same. It's made a lot of the critic top 10 lists for 2011, and maybe if we'd gotten past that 20 minute mark, we'd have enjoyed it...dunno, but life's too short.
Dropped off some clothes and books at the resale shop for a charity donation yesterday (before the 12/31 deadline for a 2011 tax deduction). Bf and I browsed a bit and he found a working VCR w/ remote and owners manual for $12. We still have vhs tapes we want to copy to dvds, and bf had discovered a couple months ago that the vcr his aunt gave us was only mono-sound, not stereo, so this one was a good find.
Well, I better get this post finished and get back to work. I have to shop at lunch today - I need to find something to wear for the NYE party we're going to on Sat. Lunchtime is about the only time to do this, since most of my free time is now booked - tonight is a hair appointment, Thurs night is an exercise class, Fri night is a post-Christmas gathering at a friend's house, Saturday morning is breakfast w/ a friend and then it's off to the hotel where the party is for an early check-in and some hanging out with friends. So wish me luck that I find a top that's sparkly and festive to wear under my black velvet blazer!

Ok, I'm mad. First of all I had so much trouble with this site hanging with the ads that I had to download and install Firefox. Then I spent about 20 minutes typing a post when all of a sudden I must have hit the touchpad on the laptop and once again the site hung. However with Firefox I can see what it's doing and it was hanging trying to get data from an ad - just as I suspected. So of course I lost my post. This will have to be an abbreviated re-post.
We had a nice time at Christmas - it was quiet but good to spend time with my family. The weather held - cool and somewhat wet but at least no snow. We should have taken advantage to visit some friends but I had not made plans ahead of time, we are appalled at all the city traffic and I think we are still a bit burned out from all the travelling we have done the last few months. The trip is about 8 hours. We came in via Interstate 90 and drove past our old house in Illinois. Honked in your neighborhood Laura but you were probably at work It's good to be back home again and with the holidays almost behind us, I'm looking forward to being able to focus and finish up the unpacking and work in some retirement time to hit up the craft / activity box as well as a big box of books to read. I also found a new organizer app on my laptop - cozi dot com - free app with ads that has an organizer, journal, calendar and to do list which will help keep me organized.
Michelle- hope all goes well with your procedure this afternoon. Enjoy the loopiness - not too often you can get a legal high and enjoy it Hope things go well for hubby too. You are off until after the new year, right? I hope you get some fun stuff in while you are resting - watch good movies, read a book, do some computer organizing - just don't stress that back!
Laura - meant to tell you I really liked that picture you posted of yourself at the gardens - very nice and I agree - your hair is much longer than I thought it was. I am jealous - looks nice and thick too. It would be great if your SIL comes back to town. Smart idea to get a sparkly top under the blazer - this way you can stay warm if it's cool and if it's hot at the place, you have a nice top to show off. Good luck shopping - even with the sales now it's always hard to find something when you need it.
Annie - that is a bummer about Curtis' kids. I hope the youngest doesn't get like the oldest. But that's how kids are sometimes. Maybe you don't realize it until after you get older or have a family of your own that you regret how you treated your parents. I'm glad to hear you had a nice holiday.
Ceejay - I am getting a mental image of you having 6 hands to handle all those phone lines How is your Diverticulitis WOE coming along? I'm so glad that your sister got the nursing job she wanted. What happy news.
Mel - I hope this week is quiet for you. Seems like the old folks always get sick or have to take a trip to the hospital the end of the year. I often wonder if they knew something we didn't ahead of time. I hope the sun comes out for you - I would send you some but we only had it for an hour or so while it was snowing madly - then it quieted down and it's been gray again. We saw some sun driving home yesterday but now that you mention it, it's been cloudy here for quite a while too. Got to get you a sun lamp
Shad - welcome back home. That seemed like a whirlwind trip for you. How nice that the attendant took special care of the tea set. God bless gay people - when you need someone with compassion, they are always around Sorry to hear you missed the rose parade at home. I hope they still have a few more blooms left for you.
I have spent far too much time in front of the computer - better go tackle my list here. Later chicks...
Hey gals...short post...what a world, what a world..Wicked Witch of the West....work day gave me a very severe headache...took two Excedrine and huge glass of water. Will try to post later..but probably not...still have to go to my dad's house as my bro from IL is in and wants to visit...will make my headache worse as he is the one I struggle with to have a relationship. Lord give me strength and peace...
Chelle...hope all went well and you are resting...
Annie
Hugs. Hope the visit with dad and bro goes well.
Happy
I've been having trouble with this sight all week. Think other have too as I've seen script error problems from others. Diverticulitis is a whole lot better. Still eating soft foods and not too much extra fiber. We only have one line. It's more like doing arm curls.
Laura
My neice was planning on seeing Sherlock Holmes this week. Would it be worth buying the dvd when it comes out? I'm going to rewatch the first SH this week end.
---
Not much going on. Really looking forward to my day's off. This last sinus infection/cough really kicked me this week. But I'm 90% better with this. As my mom used to call it, this has been one deep seeded cold. I'm soreo from coughing so deep.

Morning
Just downloaded Fox Fire and have not had any trouble whatsoever today with this sight. Must be IE.
I'm so glad I'm off today. Just needed some quiet down time by myself. No loud pumps or motor's.
Mel
So sorry to hear that George fell again. Love the new avatar, also.
I saw you had another post called New Normals. Think this is going to be my motto this year.
I slept off and on from around 5 pm yesterday until 8:30 am today. I'd sleep for a couple hours, wake up sore, use the ice bag, and then listen to an audio book to fall back to sleep (just like someone reading me a bedtime story). I have one errand to run today...Walgreens...to pick up eye drops for Doppler, but I'm just going to go through the drive thru. I don't want to overdo it like I did with my last procedure on Thanksgiving. Thank goodness for audio books and movies!
The loopiness was short-lived, just a few hours. Now I'm lucid and coherent, well as coherent as one can be when they're on vacation.
DH has to stay in bed all day so that he gets the maximum benefit from his shot, but since he likes watching bad sci-fi movies when he's resting, and I prefer to watch the Twilight series, Lord of the Rings series, or stuff like that, I'll be laying on the couch.
I awoke to the realization that I only have 5 days left before going back to work. How did the time get away so quickly? Oh well, it's been a wonderfully relaxing time.
****************************
Laura - That's good that you can get lots of work done at work this week. I know what you mean about VPN connections being iffy. Glad you had a nice time on Christmas Eve with your and bf's family. How wonderful that your SIL will be moving closer. Hopefully the nephews will move too. I always get a little sad around the holidays that we live so far away from most of our families. Bravo for getting right back to exercising!! Did you find something to wear for NYE?
Happy - Wow! That is a long drive to see the family in IL, but at least you had relatively nice weather. Thanks for the tip about cozi dot com. I'll have to check that out. I am doing fun stuff on my relaxing vacation...movies, audio books, a little writing, and a little website work.
Annie - I hope the work headache subsided and that the visit with dad and bro went well. Sending you much love and many hugs.
Ceejay - I'm glad you're getting over the sinus infection/cough. I hope you're able to rest a bit on your days off.
Mel - I hope your day gets better. Saying a prayer for dear George.
Happy - Sorry you're having trouble with the site. I'm not having that, but I'm on here at work and that might make a difference. I can see not wanting to drive anymore once you made the 8 hour drive, especially in the city. So many cars, and all the drivers are busy texting! So nice that you'll now be able to continue getting settled and kick back and enjoy your new home and retirement.
Annie - Hope your headache went away by now and that your bro didn't make it any worse! I want to say it should be quiet in a lot of workplaces this week, but are you still busy with new insurance programs this time of year??
Ceejay - Sorry the sinus infection has been kicking your butt. I'm fighting off a cold - started off as a mild scratchy throat at the beginning of the week, then a sore throat yesterday...now - not sure. Taking the yucky zinc lozenges to see if they can hold it off. Re Sherlock Holmes - I never buy movies, so I'm the wrong person to ask about that. If I did, I would say it would have to be a movie I really loved and would want to watch again and again. SH #2 was not a movie like that for me. Hope that helps.
Mel - Sorry to hear about poor George. Very sad.
Chelle - Hope the procedure went well and you're doing relaxing stuff!! Same for dh.
Hi Shad!

Nothing much to report. Bought two sleeveless blouses yesterday, not sure which one I'll keep. Not sure about going sleeveless either... my arms are okay, nothing great. Eh, why not?
Finally braved the scale since the TOM bloat seems to be gone. Same weight as before Christmas, whew. One pound up from my ticker though. Boo.
Tonight is a Circuit class.
That's about it for me. Everyone have a good day and night.
Cheers!
P.S. This is a sign on a door I saw a few weeks ago that made me chuckle because it's for a dentist's office. Happy - BTW, it's downtown where you lived.
THE LOBBY IS FROZEN AND THE HEAT IS WAY UP. WAS ONLY 23 WHEN I WOKE AND WENT DOWN. WINDS TOO.
I CAME UP TO CHANGE CLOTHES AND PUT THE HAIR DRYER DOWN MY PANTS TO WARM UP. JUST COULDN'T STAY DOWN THERE AN Y LONGER.
NOT ONLY POOR GEORGE BUT TENANTS PASSING AWAY AND THINGS BREAKING DOWN. ELEVATORS, DRYERS & WASHERS. WHAT A FRASSING MESS. WAITING FOR ALL THE REPAIRMEN NOW.
AFTER SUCH A QUIET HOLIDAY....THIS WAS THE PITS. AND I LIKED THIS LADY TOO. ALWAYS THE SWEET ONES.
NOW IT'S TIME FOR A VERY LATE LUNCH AND A REST.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT NIGHT. I WILL BE IN THE OFFICE IN THE MORNING TO SO I'LL BE LATE GETTING HERE.
SWEET DREAMS LATER AND GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE
BTW, YES CEEJAY...I HAD STARTED A NEW THREAD THE OTHER DAY HOPING MY 2 FRIENDS WOULD COME HERE AND GET USED TO A NEW SITE. BUT NOT SO FAR. WE HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER SINCE THE OLD DIET DAYS IN EARLY 2003. BEFORE I FOUND 3FC. WE WERE THE NEW NORMALS.
CEEJAY.....GLAD WE BOTH HAVE A LONG WEEKEND.
HAVE YOU GOT ANY PLANS?? HOW ARE THE UNCLES DOING?
I HAVE BOTH IE & GOOGLE CHROME AND HAVE TONS OF PROBLEMS WITH 2 DIFFERENT SITES NOW. NOT SURE WHAT'S GOING ON. MAYBE I SHOULD CONSIDER FOX FIRE TOO. LET ME KNOW IF IT KEEPS WORKING. SO TIRED OF HAVING PROBLEMS LOADING PAGES. THIS MORNING I COULDN'T EVEN GET THE OTHER SITE TO LOAD!! I REALLY HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER. SINUS INFECTIONS REALLY DO KNOCK THE STUFFING OUT OF YOU.
MICHELLE....HOPE YOU AND DH ARE DOING OK BY NOW AND GETTING THE REST YOU BOTH NEED. I AM LIKE YOU. IN THE HSOPITAL I MISSED HARRY POTTER. ALWAYS USE THEM WHEN I AM SICK OR OUT OF SORTS. JUST TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELVES.
LAURA.....GOOD FIND ON THE VCR. ABOUT 2 YRS AGO I BOUGHT A NEW ONE AND PUT IT AWAY. THE SENIORS ONLY HAVE VHS IN THEIR APARTMENTS. GOD FORB I COULDN'T TAPE A MOVIE OR PBS PROGRAM FOR THEM TO SAVE!! HOPE YOU FIND SOMETHING TO WEAR FOR NEW YEARS. KNOCK THEM DEAD!!! GLAD YOUR SIL IS MOVING BACK. NOTHING LIKE BEING AROUND FAMILY AS WE GROW OLDER. I NEED A DENTIST LIKE THAT!!!! MAYBE I'LL MOVE WHEN THE SIL DOES!
ANNIE....SORRY I MISSED YOUR POST. HOPE THE HEADACHE AND THE WICKED WITCH BOTH EASE UP SENDING CALMING THOUGHTS YOUR WAY. STAY STRONG!!!
HAPPY.....SORRY I MISSED YOUR POST AS WELL. I MUST BE FRIGGING BLIND TODAY!! GLAD YOU AND DH ARE HOME AGAIN SAFE & SOUND. HOPE YOU GET TIME TO FEEL RETIRED AND GET INTO THE BOOKS AND CRAFTS. YOU AHAVE YOUR WHOLE LIFE NOW USE IT WISELY!!!
I HAVE A QUESTION.....ON GOOGLE CHROME IT IS TELLING ME AN AD AGENCY OR WHATEVER IS HANGING UP THE LOADING OF PAGES. I SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU. HOW MANY BROWSERS CAN I HAVE?? I GOT 2 NOW. IE & CHROME. CAN I ADD ANOTHER AND IS IT REALLY GOING TO HELP[???? JUST ASKING BEFORE I SCREW UP A NEW COMPUTER. THIS IS HAPPENING ON PROVIDA TOO BUT FOR DIFFERENT REASONS. EVERYTIME THIS HAPPENS THERE....THEIR SITE CRASHES AND GETS BIG REPAIRS. LOL
LET ME KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO. NOT EVEN SURE HOW TO DO IT ANYWAY
PS: Wish we lived nearby each other..................
we could get artsy & fartsy together!!!
Morning all,
The castle building continues. I don't know how this is going to finish up but I'm sure it will be okay. It needs to be weatherproof. Now I have to try and work out how the inside will go. We may have to divide it in half - for his toys and my toys. But the DS2 and his mate, my techno guy, appear to be having fun. Speaking of my techno guy, yesterday I had a phone call from an Indian man who was busily telling me I had a problem with my windows based system. So I checked out who he was, and who he worked for - at least purported to work for - and then asked him to speak to my techno guy, who was a present doing work for me. and while he was at it, expect a call from my lawyer since it is illegal to telemarket in Australia to someone who was on the Do not call list. By the time I got Robbie to the phone, the idiot had hung up. Now I know none of you are so stupid as to believe this con. But just warn your friends that these idiots are about. I'm so surprised that some people still fall for this spiel.
Today I am off to mow lawns, clean up the front yard. Might even look into getting a skip so I can remove some of the rubbish and spent soil I have in the new garden and then I can get some more good stuff in.
I'm waiting on the boys getting back so they can do some more work on the new shed. DS2 went off at 5.00am this morning to do some work for a mate and Rob the techno geek usually arrives around 8.30 or so.
I got a Kindle for Christmas from the boys and I have spent some time this morning setting up my account. Now I only have to buy the books. I also got a new camera duty free on my way home. That will get set up today as well.
Meantime, I had better go and do the outside work. I'll be back to do personals later when it gets too hot to be outside.

Good morning kids,
Can I be the first one on this morning? Seems odd.
First let me say that I don't think I should have to use a different browser to view a single website (here). Typing this post it is hesitating which throws me off too. Wierd.
Shad - we had people calling through even tho we were on the do not call list. They have some loopholes and people take advantage of them. I don't think they enforce it too much anyway unless you can get a bunch of people to go over the top in excess. However when it comes to scammers, I can see just by looking at my Mum how people can confuse and take advantage of the older folks. Those I would beat with an old fashioned rotary phone if I got hold of them. Hope the "castle" comes out as functional as it is pretty to look at - feat of man engineering
Mel, I would love to get artsy and fartsy with you. We'd probably forget the crafts and just chat away which is fine too. I think I've had as many as 3 different browsers loaded on my PC trying to avoid problems with IE. Unlike devices such as external drives and speakers and such, I don't think browsers interfere with each other. Suzanne has recommended Mozilla Firefox for years when viewing this site. That's what I'm using now but I only use it for browsing this site as I don't have issues with IE anyplace else. And I still contend (backed up by another post I saw here) that it's some ads that are causing the issues - same you saw with Chrome and I doubt a browser will fix that. So if you mostly are ok with Chrome, stick with it. Update - just looked at your last post that you are having trouble on several sites. That is frustrating. Give Mozilla a try although it will probably take a while to download. You can always remove it later. That is so sad about George. I can totally see when you've been with someone you whole adult life (like me and DH), when one dies, a part of the other dies too. Not much to hang on to.
Laura - I think I saw that dentist's office because that looks really familiar to me. Did you find something for New Year's Eve or was that what you were talking about with sleeveless blouses? You can always toss a jacket or wrap over it. Are things quiet at the office this week? I always liked this time of year for working.
Annie - hope you survived the visit with the bro and he didn't upset Dad. Just grit your teeth and it will be over soon. Had Dad seen Lil Monkey yet? Are you working at CVS any more?
Ceejay - my DH used the term "this is the new normal" back when he was still at IBM so I thought it was an IBM term. I laughed then because I thought it was sooooo appropriate and have used it since on many an occasion. Are you working this weekend? Can you bring a champagne glass to the office?
Michelle - I hope you are doing well my friend and not in alot of pain from your procedure. We are thinking of you and sending - but not too hard of a squeeze. Is DMIL taking good care of you and DH?
DH has distracted me with talk of getting a new TV which made this post take more time and I still have to do something before I shower up and head out to the post office. He lured me with the promise of lunch at a good local restaurant (great soup) so I'd better get running here. Talk to you later chicks.
SHAD.....IF THE CASTLE GETS BIG ENOUGH I CAN LIVE IN IT. MAKE SURE THE KIDDO ADDS A LOVELY RAMP FOR ME THEN I WILL BE A VERY HAPPY CAMPER!! HOPE IT HOLDS EVERYTHING YOU TWO HAVE AND ALSO KEEPS THE BUGGERS WHO STEAL OPUT!!! PUT BARS ON THE WINDOWS!!!
PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU LIKE THE KINDLE, HOW HARD IT IS TO USE & FIGURE OUT AND ANYTHING USEFUL!!!
WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, I MIGHT GET ONE NEXT YEAR. BEEN LOOKINGAT THEM BUT LEERY OF THE EYE USAGE PART LOL
ENJOY YOUR GIFT AND YOUR CASTLE!!
HAPPY.....THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO. IT'S 2 WEBSITES ONLY. THIS ONE AND PROVIDA. PROVIDA IS JUST LAGGING ALL AROUND. BUT THIS ONE IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO LOAD MOST TIMES I TRY IT. EVEN THE CHROME WOULDN'T DO IT THIS MORNING AND WAS NAMING ADVERTISERS ON THE BOTTOM. I FINALLY GAVE UP AND WENT TO WORK!!
THAT'S HOW YOU'RE BEATING ME IN THE MORNINGS!
HOPE LUNCH WAS DELISH!!!
I AM DONE FOR THE DAY WITH WORK. JUST NUISANCE STUFF FOR THE WEEKEND. WE STILL HAVE AN ELEVATOR DOWN AND NO ONE COMING TILL TUESDAY. SIGH. LET US PRAY THE ONE WORKING KEEPS WORKING.
I NEED TO GET TO THE LITTLE STORE OR HAVE THEM DELIVER. THE KIDS ARE LEAVING IN A FEW MOMENTS TO CELEBRATE NYE AT THE TRAILER. SOME NEIGHBORS UP THERE HAVE PARTIES AND THE KIDS HAVE FRIENDS THERE TOO. THANK GOD....A REALLY QUIET WEEKEND!!
I AM FEELING BETTER TODAY THAN I HAVE FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW. I BOUGHT AN ORECK AIR FILTER/IONIZER MACHINE FOR THE BEDROOM.
I USED XMAS MONIES I GOT. SLEPT BETTER FOR 2 NIGHTS NOW AND WOKE UP WITH LESS SINUS AND BODY PAINS. THE OLD MACHINE HAD DIED.
SOME HOW MY BODY LIKES THE IONS EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A LOT OF CONTROVERSY ABOUT THEM. I JUST WANT TO FUNCTION AT MY OWN BEST AND WHAT'S GOOD FOR ME. I WOKE ONE DAY KNOWING THE MACHINE HAD TURNED OFF DURING THE NIGHT EVEN BEFORE I GOT OUT OF BED. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN HOW I FEEL "WITH IT" VS "WITHOUT IT". SO I AM ONCE AGAIN GETTING BACK TO NORMAL AND STARTING THE NEW YEAR OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT....OR WHEEL AS IT MAY BE
Morning all,
Lovely day out there again. Should get out there and into it before the rain clouds come to annoy the living daylights out of those who want to work outside.
Last day of the year for us over here. How did that happen so fast?
Mel - so sorry to hear about the happenings at your place. I know they are old and have their problems, but it just seems so unfair at this time of the year. Anyway.... the castle wont be right for you to live in apart from the fact that it is slap bang on the ground. It will have power but probably no water out there and there are no windows, just skylights and power. You would be living with the potting mix and power tools and have a roller door - not automated probably - for your front and back door. Better come inside the house - it's all one level but I'd better check out wheelchair access for the loo.
As for the browsers, don't know much about them, I only have one. My sister had two and didn't seem to have problems - apart from dial up (and you know how that goes). I don't have a problem with ads on this site but maybe that is because I have a different lot of ads - Aussie ones mostly. I can ask Rob about browsers when he comes back. Not sure if he is back over the weekend, I suspect not. I'm not even sure DS2 will be working on the castle today and probably not tomorrow.
The Kindle I registered with Amazon yesterday. Wasn't the quickest job I have ever done but it worked okay. I was not impressed with having to put my credit card numbers in, but I guess I will just have to keep a strict eye on the account (another one) until I am happy it is secure. I haven't worked out if you can make the font bigger or not yet. It may not be too much fun for your eyes. I will keep you informed.
Happy - strangely enough I appear to have lost my ipod as well, before I even got to use it. I'll bet that it is somewhere in the third bedroom amongst the papers I have yet to file and shred. Good to hear you sounding so happy and at peace with the world - paradise indeed.
Annie - Card arrived yesterday. Thank you so much. I am about halfway through the yearly newsletter so expect one in the in-box sometime next month. You sure have plenty to look forward to this year.
Michelle - hope you are feeling better and starting to get around without pain. I did like your Christmas picture on facebook (and the automated card) but I thought you had four dogs, does the other one not like having his photo taken?
Laura - hope you found the perfect outfit for NYE. Mine will probably be pyjamas (and no bra). I don't feel social at all and since I have been up since five this morning, I doubt I will last into the wee hours.
Ceejay - Hope you are not working overnight. But then there are always some who miss out on the frivolities. Uh just looked back over the entries and see you have a 4 day weekend coming up. Good for you. Nice that you can continue doing the happy dance with all that is good in your world right now.
Nobody I know apart from the young ones are getting excited or organising parties this year. The normal firework displays are on at 8.30pm and midnight - I may just watch the first on tv. Sydney will feature across the world - they always spend up big despite the fact that the State is almost broke.
Someone asked me ages back (think it was Michelle) about window cleaning stuff I talked about. They are called Kleenex Viva Wipes - glass and mirror. They are trademarked Kimberly-Clark which is world wide so I guess you have them over there. The Aus/NZ website is www.kca.com.au if you want to have a look.
Okay, I need to go put on a wash, get dressed and go out into the garden. I have some basil to plant and a large amount of weeding to be done. The back yard still looks like a tornado hit but I can't do much for that until the shed is operational. I also need to get some more hanging pots for the last orchid. It flowers most of the year and is now so big it will have to be split into 3 pots Then I should go prune the poinciana tree. There are some old branches on it that are no longer producing flowers or leaves. It will stimulate the tree when I get rid of them. After that I should hang the pots back up. There is a mountain of stuff I can do. Sooner I get at it, the sooner it will get done.
