Ok so ive been doing IF for 9 days now (with one day off, compensated for by a 24 hour fast the next day), I have eating windows of 2pm-8pm with no exercise and my weight lost is 5 pounds! I cant wait to see the results after including exercise this week!

@jyoyo Like John said, most of the physical benefits from fasting are achieved after 14-16 hours. The eating window is a personal preference. I use 5 hours because it is easier for me to control calories that way. I can have bigger meals in a 5 hour window. In other words, I have less time to spread my calories through, so it is easier for me. One of the big benefits to using IF is not having to spread your somewhat small (in my case) amount of allowed calories over 16 hours and try to stay satisfied.

Hey everyone. Still going strong with IF. Just thought I'd pop in real quick and update. Today was my midmonth weighin. I'm down 6.4lbs from May 1st. So far I'm having a great month. =) Hope everyone is doing well.

Good morning, all! It's a fresh new week. I am determined to do 100% well this week. I said, "no" to bacon this morning so far at work....dang, being a cook and dieting is no good, I tell ya. LOL.

You all have a great week and keep us updated.

Thanks for the response John & KTucke, I kinda figured it just depends on the person. I have changed my eating window...probably going to stick with a 2-8 window. Completely fell off the wagon this weekend, though...sheesh! It's all my husband's fault of course

My weigh in on Saturday morning I was down 1.6 lbs though for my first week of IF'ing it...not too shabby. So, now to see what I can pull off for this week! At least the calorie counting is much more simple when I only have one meal and some snacks a day. Rather than all those little meals throughout the day. I hate counting and tracking stuff...so annoying.

Oh dear I fell right off the wagon since my first post and going at this with both guns blazing, I will blame my excrutiating back pain for the last 10 days, makes me so depressed, BUT, after reading all the posts Im back at it tomorrow.
Might have to ask the boss to move my office :-) Im kinda near the staffroom and it makes it hard when everyone is cooking toast, or heating up their lunch and all I can smell is food

I hear ya elkay! My desk is right by the breakroom too...I smell food all day long!! Part of the reason I moved my window up a bit. We'll see if that helps at all...lol

On the bright side...it's FINALLY sunny here in WA state, so I'll be going for a nice walk on my lunch break today...woo hoo!!! Bring on the sunshine!!!

Hey team. I weighed in at 300.5 this morning, down another 3.5 lbs. So close to breaking past 300.

Wish I could experience the excitement of it all, but I've lost the recent weight due to a complete lack of appetite. I'm grieving the loss of my sweet little dog Chloe, who was struck by a car and killed on Sunday afternoon. Cried and slept a lot for the first 24 hours, then just started cleaning after that. My younger son is having a really tough time, so we're spending extra time together and I'm trying to help him with the grief process. We loved that dog so much!

I'm feeling a bit dehydrated today. I'll probably gain back a little once I start drinking more water. But I still don't feel like eating. This feels so much worse than getting divorced!

So sorry about your dog, Georgia. That is awful. That is the sucky part about owning pets is when they leave us :-(.

Anyway, I'm down a pound since yesturday but it's only from pounds I gained back from my lowest weight this year of 211 so no biggie. So, I'm at 215...Hopefully I'll see 213 at the end of this week? We shall see :-)

I had to break my fast a bit early today but no big deal. That's still a good fast from last night.

I've been making sure to drink lots of water. I downloaded an app on my cell called, "hydrate" that helps me keep track of my intake. You all take care.

Hey, everyone!

I'm new here, and I wanted to share my condolences for Georgia. I have 2 old dogs, and I know the end is near for them. It's so difficult. Hope you and your son feel better soon.

I'm trying out this IF thing. First day was today. Well, the fasting part went okay. For lunch, though, I ate my salad like a ravenous beast. It was close to noon, but that was all I could do. Anyway, I had 1/2 a sandwich at 3. It's 5pm and I'm really hungry, but dinner is nowhere in sight. I guess this is going to take more planning than I am putting into it. Is it normal to be so hungry when I just ate 2 hours ago? Maybe I had too many carbs. I'm insulin resistant, so having a piece of bread was probably not the smart thing to do.

I suppose this is supposed to get easier? I haven't done anything like this since high school. Of course, I didn't know that was what I was doing, but I didn't have a weight problem back then.

That really stinks about the dog. We would be so sad to lose ours.
