MORNING CHICKS

GOT UP EARLY = REPORTS IN EARLY = I'LL BE DONE EARLY
WHAT A THUNDERHEAD WE HAD LAST NIGHT. WILD & WOLLY!! BUT TODAY'S SUNSHINE MAKES IT ALL SEEM LIKE A DREAM.
NOTHING NEW HERE AT ALL. HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY

SHAD.......THE NO HELP DESK CRACKED ME UP. SORRY I WAS LAUGHING. BUT IT REALLY IS FUNNY WHEN IT'S NOT HAPPENING TO YOU. YOU REALLY SHOULD BE WRITING SOME KIND OF BOOK. I ALWAYS LOVE YOUR DESCRIPTIONS!! THE OLD PC COULD BARELY HAVE 2 THINGS GOING AT THE SAME TIME LIKE MY MAILBOX AND THEN LINKING TO 3FC. IF I WOULD OPEN ANOTHER WINDOW EITHER IT WOULD FREEZE OR CRASH AND I WOULD HAVE TO BEGIN ALL OVER AGAIN HOPE THE WEEK GOES WELL FOR YOU AND THE TEAM! IS DS2 GOING THERE ON VACATION OR WORK RELATED??

ELLEN.....GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK WITH THE CALORIES. STAY STRONG.

Good morning ladies -

I can't believe it's Monday already. Friday night, I worked 'till midnight (not easy for this early bird), and on Saturday I woke up every hour from 5 am to 9 am to make sure reports were completing successfully, and that the end users approved them. Even though they give their "final" approval before "go live", sometimes they change their mind.

I took Mischief to the vet on Friday afternoon for another blood test. We get the results back today. Over the weekend, she seemed pretty good though she stil had leg cramps on Friday. And she didn't like the "wintry mix" of precipitation that fell most of the weekend.

On Saturday, we went to the ginormous grocery store that we like so much because of the high quality and low prices. We couldn't find any charged scooter carts at the main entrance, so DH walked to the side entrance and found one. But just as he brought it to me, an old man in a scooter cart was being pushed back to the charging area by a store employee. It was obvious that he needed the last remaining "charged" cart more than I did, so I gave it to him and pushed the shopping cart for support. I did okay for the most part, but was hurtin' for certain by the time we got home. After I got the groceries put away, I relaxed for a couple hours before I made spaghetti for dinner. Yesterday, was spent cooking make and freeze meals for DH, watching "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1" with DMIL, running errands and doing a couple loads of laundry.

All the work made the weekend go by way too quickly. I'm still a little stiff today, but not nearly as bad as yesterday, and I'm trying to reduce the amount of time I use my cane. Tonight, I'll go to the gym for a bit of walking in the pool. Hopefully there won't be as many kids there as last time. It's hard to dodge them when even they don't know which way they're going.

************

Ceejay - I heard about all the bad storms down your way. I hope you're okay. So sorry to hear about your friend's car accident. I hope her injuries heal soon. As for doing 10 minutes of stairs per day - that sounds like an excellent goal if you're in shape. As for me, unless I broke that up into one or two flights at a time, I'd have a really hard time with this due to my asthma. But it's a great goal to work up to. on paying off your washer and dryer and on all that cleaning!

Happy - I love, love, love your new house! I love the deck, gazebo, windows, all the natural light, and the Happy cave! I also really like the kitchen. It doesn't look small to me, and I really like all the counter space and the island! It looks like a lovely spot for our commune. I'm glad I've been pre-approved by your DH. In the meantime, I've decided that does it!! I'm getting my back better and decluttering my house to reclaim all the areas I fell in love with when we bought it that have since been overrun with clutter. I'm glad to hear your vertigo is getting better.

Laura - Bummer that you don't get Good Friday off. DH and I don't have plans to go to church either, but it's nice to have a day or even half-day off. Did you get any snow this weekend? I couldn't believe it when I saw it falling. The Tighter Assets class really sounds challenging. I don't mind squats, but I hate lunges. I hope you had a great time with your HS friends. I'm glad I got you hooked on baby carrots and hummus. My PT told me not to overdo on the hummus, but I only eat 1 or 2 Tbsp at a time, so it's not too bad. I'm so sorry to hear about the book club woman's son. I hope he gets better soon. DH has a upper respiratory virus (sinus and throat mostly), and he went to my company's Wellness Center and the doc told him that he has the same virus that's been going around my company. Not much can be done except to ride it out. Looks like I have to stay away from my co-workers and my DH so I don't catch it.

Annie - I'm so glad you enjoyed the movie with DD. And had a good visit with Dad. You went to Menards for your date?! Did you have fun at least? You and my DH would get along great! Menards is his favorite store! I feel the same way about material stuff as you do. If someone, heaven forbid, ever breaks in...as long as he doesn't hurt me or my family (including our 4 legged kids), they can take whatever they want.

Mel - I hope both Jen and Richie are doing better. How did you like the Harry Potter movie? I thought it was really good...and be warned, there's quite the cliffhanger at the end. I can't wait 'till July when Part 2 comes out in the theaters. Good for you for getting an early start on the day/week.

Shad - Scary news about the earthquake. Hasn't Australia had enough of Mother Nature's wrath lately? Sheesh! We'll be heading to nurseries for plants within the next few weeks...after we're sure that the frost (and snow) are over and done with until October at least. The drive up to Tamborine Mountain sounds nice. Glad you were able to spend time with your friends. Good of you to help DB2 with his computer problems...though it's frustrating about the NO HELP desk. I'm glad DS2 is still able to go to Thailand. That's a lot of scary illnesses at your work (and at home with DS2's hep A and B injections). Take good care of yourself, ok?

Ellen - Good luck with the calorie counting. I'm finding that it's helping me. Sounds like you have some good productive plans for while your DH is out of town.

Well, I'd best get back to the day's work.

Lots of love and hugs to all,

Morning all. Just a quick check-in. I'll have to catch up your posts and on personals.

Weekend was alright. Dog walks both days. Ended up very sore on Friday from Thursday's exercise class - should have known it would be bad because I was sore first thing that morning. So I was still rather sore on Saturday and skipped a class. But I was up early and first thing was finishing up the fleece cap that matches my snuggly throw. That allowed me to pack up the pattern and instructions, and all the fleece fabric used for my mittens, snuggly & cap & bf's snuggly & cap. See, I wanted to straighten up that room since it doubles as a guest room and my friend was staying overnight that night.

Also did some other house cleaning, laundry and shopping. The gathering of the HS gals was rather tame and broke up pretty early. I've decided that with the one that came in from out of town - a little of her goes a long way. But since we only see her a couple times a year, I can handle it.

Sunday I had my lazy morning, sitting around chatting w/ my friend D. for a couple hours and then with the newspaper after she'd left. No exercise class, just because I didn't really feel like it. Did more laundry, then later, some shopping at Kohl's and the grocery. PM was some tv.

Weather Fri. night & Sat. was rather sucky, although Sunday had some sun and ended up relatively mild. Ugh, woke up to snow-covered grass this morning. Not happy about that at all. And temps in the 40's all this week. Boo!!!

Okay, better get back to it.

Monday Monday oh what a day this has been....I just am now taking a breather...

Happy....vertigo always seems due to inner ear junk going on....or as my momma used to tell me that I was just a dizzy dean...lol...The new abode is absolutely gorgeous....OMG I love it. I am especially liking the kitchen, can't imagine why..wink wink...and the gazebo..coffee anyone? You and DH DONE DID GOOD...the azalea garden down the way from you is beautiful too! Old people love to talk, and think we will be those "old" people before long...lol

Shad....I hear ya on the Monday thing...IDON'TWANTTOBEHEREEITHER!!! Funny thing these bill collectors seem to think I NEED to pay them, so I guess I gotta work....that dang lottery is just not coming through for me like it is supposed too...

Chelle...HP part 1 is actually good, I was not much of a fan of the others but really like this one..and kind of want to see part II. How did Mischief's blood work come out? I heard this morning that lower WI was having some snow today...and there were around 100, yes 100 tornados in North Carolina. Unbelieveable. We had terrible rain storms Fri night into Sat...yesterday was not bad...sunny and 65. Today is sunny and 68 and going to try to get a walk in later this afternoon, if this dang work would quit interferring with my personal life...lol

Laura..sounds like your weekend was rather laid back and enjoyable...good for you. Our weather is supposed to be 60's this week, so come on down...you are the next contestant on the Price is Right...

Ceejay...how is work going? Still busy setting off alarms and flooding the place? lol

Ellen...good for you on the walking...and I KNOW you can do this calorie counting thing...it is all in what you set your mind to do and stay at it. No excuses!!...

MELLIE...Yep, Sissy and I told dad about the baby over the weekend...his first comment..."when you getting married?". Sam just smiled and said who really knows and that was the end of that conversation....I bet they will, but in their own time. I have been divorced once, one twice and the other brother twice....what makes him think marriage is such a great thing...just cause he was married 62 years, most of that sucked according to my mom...lol

My date at Menards with Alan (crooked teeth) was good, we went to dinner after then to my house to watch Toy Story 3. I was so beat, I slept through the entire movie, woke up when it was over and he went home. LOL...what fun I was..NOT. We still haven't even kissed....weird...he is not pressuring me either.

I need to get back at it...have a marvelous Monday/Tuesday all.

Loves and hugs...

Hi all,

I had problems getting into this site today. The website was hanging and didn't want to respond.

Thanks for the nice things you said about the house and the azalea gardens. I hope we will be very happy in the new house. There's some nice walking paths out back (or will be one DH clears them ) He's excited about them. It was too wet and muddy for us to go through there, maybe I can see more on another trip. There is also a big clearing with lots of sun which will be perfect for my garden. I'm starting to pick up DH's excitement bug and I have to say I'm itching to get out of here. It's not really that big of a house Shad, in fact, it's 800 square feet smaller than our current house. But what we lose in rooms, we gain in all that storage area. I think it will be fairly easy to keep clean as most of our living space is on the main floor. Downstairs is my hobby room which if I can't hide the stuff in all those cabinets and keep the counters presentable, then I have a serious problem! There is also a good sized room with a large built in big screen TV - that should stay fairly neat as we won't be prone to eating down there unless we have guests. It's funny that the largest of the baths with the most cabinets is in the basement which only has a sink and toilet. The upstairs part of the house has 2 bedrooms, a full bath, an open loft area and a large hall / sitting area which is where we will probably put the computer stuff. Upstairs will mostly be for guests. I am actually looking forward to having a neat and tidy house again. Should be no problem to get back in fly lady mode once I am retired.

This weekend we were able to (thank God) seat the new tub in the fresh cement "footing". We did not have much room to work and we only had one shot to get it right. I was so worried about it but it appears we got it done correctly. I think the bath will be so pretty when it finally gets done, just hope I have a chance to enjoy it and the new soaking tub before we sell. DH was hanging back on getting that done because he wanted to make sure it was done correctly - he is not a plumber and this was rather tricky as he had to move drains and resolder and move pipes. I'm sure he's sorry he tackled this project. But now we can concentrate on getting the walls up and tiling and cabinets done.

Hah - DH said no free passes - everyone has to reinterview for the commune. He said Shad it has been several years since we have seen you and that you could have turned into a bad girl so he has to make sure you will not be a bad influence or team up with Stash and make him crazy

Michelle - I understand your comment about getting the house in good order. I was walking through last week surveying things and I thought, I may not have respected this house as much as I should have. You comment about falling in love and enjoying the house range true. Sorry you didn't get a cart at the store, it was very nice of you to give yours up. I hope the manager realizes that it's important to make sure those carts are charged up.

Oh gads. Someone just came up and asked me for some stuff. I will have to come back later. Sorry ....

My afternoon fatigue has kicked in. A couple hours ago, I had a good lunch of chicken with brown rice and veggies. Now I'm eating baby carrots and sundried tomato/basil hummus. I try to just stick with water in the afternoon and avoid caffeine. I just have to last a couple more hours 'till I get to go home and relax before heading to the gym later this evening. I'll probably eat a light dinner before going to the gym.

Laura - Those dog walks must've been very chilly. It was pretty cold most of the weekend at our house - would've been ok if not for the crazy wind. It was better during the day on Sunday, but then got chilly again in the evening. We're going to have highs in the upper 30s/low 40s all week...but that's better than northern WI, where they're supposed to get another 6" to 10" of snow! I do NOT want that. Sounds like you had a very nice weekend. Good for you for finishing up the fleece cap. Do you think this crazy cold weather could be because of you and all the fleece projects you just finished?

Annie - Thanks for asking about Mischief. We still don't know the results of her blood work. That's great that you're having warm-ish temps this week. If I didn't have to be at work, I'd hop in my car and drive on down to your place. Glad you had a nice date with Alan. It's nice that he's not pressuring you but obviously enjoys your company even when you're sleeping.

Happy - I've been having the same trouble getting to the site. Glad you made it. I can "hear" the excitement in your posts about your house and I don't blame you. It sounds wonderful!! I'm glad you were able to seat the new tub in the footing.

I'd better get back to it...though I would rather take a nap.

Love ya' chicas,

I, too, have had trouble getting into the site, I thought it was work making it difficult with walls and such....NOT.

Got a LOT accomplished tonight....got home from work and took the Hella B for a nice walk. Hope to wear her out so she sleeps all night. lol....weeded the garden then hoe'd it. (sweat involved as it was 75 degrees out there) Grilled me out a nice steak. Ate it then brought it back as I was too full bending over in the garden....yikes. Cleaned the car out (vacuumed, windexed)....ran the battery down playing the music while cleaning. Battery is only a 3 year battery and it is going on 4 years. Load of laundry washed, dried, folded and put away. Ran to CVS after neighbor jump started my car, figured I needed to run it a bit. Home with jammies on and mellowing out...getting ready to head to bed. Suppose I will have to invest in a new battery sooner rather than later. Hope to wait til Friday....

Sweet Dreams/wonderful day...

Love and hugs

Happy Tuesday -

Yesterday when I got home from work, I was exhausted and I kept trying to talk myself out of going to the gym. Unfortunately because of all the swim lessons, the pool isn't available for "open" or lap swim until after 7:15 pm. I decided to go to the gym a little early and try the recumbent stepper, which I'm happy to say I was able to do for 15 minutes without pain! Then I went to the locker room to change for my water workout, then sat in the hot tub until the pool became available. I happened to sit next to the woman who teaches the water aerobics class on Monday and Wednesday. I explained about my back problem, and she suggested that I try the class with the modifications she shows, and also that at first I only attend the last 30 minutes of class...which is some aerobics and some cool down. Once the pool became available I spent 20 minutes or so walking in the water (while dodging kids playing water basketball and jumping in the pool cannonball style). I actually got the heart rate up enough to feel some endorphins! I woke up feeling a little stiff, but other than that, not too sore. Tonight, Open Swim starts at 6:45. It's nice that it's a little earlier.

The 3FC site seems a lot better today, hopefully it will stay up and running and fairly quick.

Ceejay - I'm glad work went well for you yesterday!

Annie - You're having 75 degree weather and gardening, and they're predicting more snow for us today. It's just not fair. Bummer about the car battery. I hope it holds out as long as you need it to. You're getting ready for bed at 7:30? OMG! I hope you got to sleep shortly thereafter. You work so hard (2 jobs plus cleaning and gardening) you need to relax and rest sometimes.

Shad - Bummer you had no internet access. I always look forward to your posts.

All the other chicks will be waking up and posting soon. I'll check back with you later!

Love and hugs,

Default 50 Things You Need To Give Up Today

Really great blog about "50 Things You Need To Give Up Today". I know I do probably 40 or 45 of the 50 things. This is a good reminder of these beliefs/behaviors are not helpful for us.

Good morning ladies,

I spent my morning Internet time running a load of laundry, decluttering some kitchen counters and sending an email off to a friend in need so no posting this morning. We have a birthday lunch today for one of my co-workers so I won't get on the rest of the day most probably.

Michelle - I pity you in the pool with the brats. That was the worst thing I hated with the health club. If they would stay on one side of the pool and play, it would be ok - all I want is 1 lane off to the side so I can do my thing! LOL Once the outside pool opened at the club, they reserved the inside pool in the morning for adults which was nice. Great suggestion from the water aerobics teacher. And yay for you for getting 30 minutes pain free - progress !!!!! The 50 things list was thought provoking. We sure let alot get us frustrated, don't we?

I have to get ready and run now. Very sorry to everyone I have stiffed on personals lately. Not sure if I will get back on tonight as I have committed to getting a few things done around the house.

to the Worldlies.
