Morning all,

Quick run through again - time to get the boys to the airport and pick up the girls. We have a glorious day out there and I think we will go for a walk later this afternoon and just relax through the day.

R's plane is delayed forty minutes and DS2's is so far on time. So we should manage to do things right for once.

Now DS2's friend is ringing up to see if we are ready, so I suppose it will be best not to upset the flyees. I can wait at the airport as I am used to it.

Back later or tomorrow maybe.

Good morning all,

My home PC has crashed. I hope it's nothing too serious and that I won't lose my hard drive. Last weekend DH put in some additional memory because the hard drive was churning and it was really puttering along so badly I could not get anything to move. Started acting up yesterday (hence no post) and really started tanking last night. I can't even get it to finish booting today. I hope DH did not have plans for anything else Anyway I am on his laptop now - it has an extra big keyboard because of the wide screen and for some reason I have a very hard time typing on this. Always get my fingers somewhere other than the home keys. So I will just bid you a good morning and might be on at work. Hope you all are having a good Friday - no pun intended.

Later chicks.

Good Morning all...........Happy Good Friday and Easter Weekend. We have early release today to start our weekend, which really means nothing to me since I have to work tonight and tomorrow morning. Supposed to start raining here later today and continue until Thursday...more flooding and crappy weather.

Well gotta get busy since this is a short day for me.

Have a marvelous Easter Weekend!!

Love and Hugs

Happy Friday ladies -

Yesterday was busy from the moment I sat down at my desk. By mid-morning, it became evident that I would be going home ill as I was having big time tummy problems. I went home and slept (when I wasn't otherwise occupied...nuff said). I'm feeling a little better today and working from home. We have 1/2 day paid holiday today...and since I start working so early, I'll be done by 10:30! DH is off all day, and will be doing a bit of cleaning the basement because we're purchasing a chest freezer with some of our tax refund, and he needs to clear a path for the delivery men to put it downstairs. This way, we can save money by stocking up on things when they are on sale, like meats, frozen veggies and dinners, and ice cream (just kidding - don't get out the I just wanted to see if y'all were paying attention!).

If my tummy calms down a bit more, I hope to get to the gym today or tomorrow. Or I might just play some Wii.

We heard back from the pathologist regarding Mischief's blood test. Still not sure what she's got. There are more tests that can be done, but the vet said that at this point since her blood work looks good, there's no urgency to get the tests done...just when we have the time/money would be ok. In the meantime, she's a happy, energetic doggie who is having fun playing and wresting with the other doggies.

I don't know if you've heard about these websites called LivingSocial or GroupOn, but I've signed up for both of them. Basically, they send you emails with a different "deal" each day where you can get a gift certificate for a restaurant, activity or service for half price. Until yesterday, the emails I received were either for locations that were in downtown Milwaukee and not worth the drive or things I'm not interested in anyway. But yesterday, there was a deal for a therapeutic hour-long massage for $34 (reg. price is $68). I purchased that right away, now I just have to make the appointment. *sigh* I just can't wait!!

Shad - I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your friends!

Annie - The chicken pot pie you made the other night sounds so yummy!! I'm so sorry to hear Sam is having a rough time with the morning (all day) sickness. As for the sign to the Associates about common courtesy behavior...we have similar signs posted around our building. Enjoy your early release today - I know I'm grateful for ours! I hope you don't have to work too hard tonight/tomorrow. Are you spending Easter with Sam and/or your Dad?

Ceejay - That sucks that the customers are irate with you about the power being out. Like screaming at you would make it come back on sooner. I understand their frustration...but they shouldn't take it out on you. Venting is one thing...but screaming is totally uncalled for.

Mel - It really sounds like the boss is trying hard to get you what you need and deserve. I'm keeping you in my prayers and keeping my fingers crossed for good measure.

Ellen - I don't know how you keep up with all those kids. It would have my head spinning! Good for you for going through everything all the clothes, etc. I have to do that for me and DH. I hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Happy - Good luck with getting the computer fixed. Are you going to be doing more sorting/packing this weekend?

Laura - Do you get an early release today too? I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Love and hugs and Happy Easter to all,

Mel - I'm so sorry you're having to work so hard and getting woken up at all hours with alarms and, worse yet, crank calls. I wish for you a very quiet, restful Easter weekend.

Morning all.

Ceejay - So sorry you had to deal with the abuse of those callers - that's awful. Screaming?? I think what you said is good. Too bad you have to deal with that.

Ellen - At least you've gotten a good start on your clothes purge project.

Mel - Sorry your job has been so hectic the past few days - on top of your chair not holding a charge. I sure hope that the big boss can get the expenses approved to get you back at full speed. And I hope the bloody false alarms stop!!! And now there's cranks calls - what the heck is going on?! I hope you have a quiet Friday and a quiet weekend.

Shad - Hope the timing on the airport pickups worked out for you and everybody else. Glorious weather - hope you had a pleasant walk.

Happy - Hope you get the computer up and running again - it would not be good to lose the stuff on your hard drive. Well, perhaps you're responsible folks and have it all backed up - unlike bf & I who talk about it, but have done nothing.

Annie - Well, at least you get out early today - does that at least give you a breather between job 1 & job 2 tonight? Not that you'd used it to relax - what's on the agenda - a whole house cleanup? I don't think we get out early today. Our office has a practice of closing the office at 3 pm "on the business day prior to each of the [company's] recognized holidays." Easter is not a holiday for our office, so I don't think we close early. Not that people won't skip out early anyway... Have a great weekend.

Michelle - Sorry you were having tummy issues yesterday - how awful! Good you went home and can work from home today. Wow, you only have a few min to go today before you start your holiday weekend!!! Nice that you're getting a freezer - especially when you shop at a warehouse club and get good deals but large quantities! Bf and I aren't good about using up our freezer items, so why bother? But we did put our old fridge in the basement when we bought our new one. Each month our electric bill has an insert about getting rid of that old underused energy-wasting fridge (how did they know?? LOL) and I feel guilty. But I'm not giving it up just yet because it does come in handy - especially since we rejoined Costco. Sorry you haven't gotten a definitive diagnosis re Mischief, but I'm happy she's feeling good and doing her usual doggie stuff. Let us know how the groupon deal goes - I've yet to even get on that site to check it out.

Hope I didn't miss anyone, and I hope you all have a nice Easter weekend. I'm dressed sort of spring-y today - brown slacks and a spring green blouse. Okay, maybe it's more like Earth Day, which happens to be today.

Last night I went to the Freemotion Circuit class and it was fine. Re the vacation - I'm still not ready to end this standoff w/ bf. He hasn't really told me anything about the dogwalker situation, but it seems he's done something. He also told me yesterday the status of his passport. I told him to save it for another trip because the trip is off, but he responded that he'd checked on the air tickets and to change the itinerary (destination) costs $150. I said "so what".

Nowhere in the exchange was there any expression akin to "I really want us to go and have a good time." Sigh. I don't know if my heart is in this trip anymore, so I feel like we shouldn't bother. One ticket used ff miles, the other was part ff miles/part $$. Of course I'd like to not waste them and not incur extra change fees, but I'm feeling very negative about the whole thing and prefer to forget about it.

Later last night, bf asked me if I wanted to have dinner w/ his mother at Lou Malnati's tonight. I don't want to because I know this vacation thing will come up and I don't want to discuss it. I'm tempted to just tell them to go by themselves.

I have a hair appt tomorrow morning. Not sure why I keep scheduling it for Saturday mornings when I intend to go to exercise classes instead. Duh. And this weekend there are no classes on Sunday (Easter). I guess it's okay. I miss my Margaret Richard/Body Electric workouts, so I might try and get up early enough to do one before my hair appt.

Nothing else planned for Saturday. Sunday we're supposed to go to bf's brother's place for dinner. Again, I'm just not in the mood. It's been a crummy week all around - work, home, weather. I'm just not fit to socialize with anyone.

Okay - enough of my rambling downer post. I hope you all have a nice weekend and Easter holiday.

Passing through.
Paycheck came this morning. Need to take it to the bank.
Most of the house is clean but the office area is still a junk room.
Found some one that will come clean the house next week.
I'm making pans to visit my sis in Springfield, Mo in May. She will be a Nurse Practitioner when she graduates May 13th.
Going to Paragould tomorrow for my uncle's birthday.
Gotta get busy on this junk room.
Have a good day.

Quick pop-in for me. Last night we watched the dvd "Rachel Getting Married" w/ Anne Hathaway. We had this from Netflix and it had been sitting around a while. It was not a happy-go-lucky movie, that's for sure.

Had my hair appt, then went over to the resale shop down the street and bought 10 paperbacks this time. Wiped them all down with one of those bacterial wipes andnow they are on the bookshelf ready and waiting.

After a good amount of rain yesterday, it's finally a gorgeous day - sunny and 60's. But windy! Doggie and I went in the yard and did a dogpile cleanup. No, I did the cleanup, doggy added a pile, LOL. Ground is very damp. No, not just damp - WET. Now come on, I need to get a chance to dig out those non-blooming hydrangeas and replant with something else and the weather is not cooperating!

Don't know if you know this about me, but I have three baskets of old newspapers - not whole papers, just the parts I like that I never got around to reading - the now defunct magazine section, travel, comics and selected others. Sitting in the 3-season room for a few minutes, I picked up a 2008 movie section. So sad - don't think that section even exists anymore in our current newspaper. Reviews of Batman: Dark Knight & Mama Mia. Comics in the normal size, not the new shrunken-down size to fit more on per page. Real nostalgia here, LOL.

Well, I think I'm going to change shoes and get doggy out for a nice walk. After that, not sure. We need milk and a few other things, so I guess I'll get out for a quick shopping trip. Then lunch, or maybe lunch first.

Ceejay - Hope you're enjoying your day in Paragould, and happy b-day to the uncle.

Shad - Glad to hear you're having a good time!

Mel - Hope you're having a relaxing day, and that fragile feeling is GONE. Thanks for the hugs and good vibes! I think these upcoming b-days will be much happier than my recently widowed friend's, which was Thursday - her first b-day w/o her dh.

Okay, off to take the dogwalk.

Morning all,

Into the third day of my mini break. Today we are going to drive around looking at locations and apartments. R is retiring to Brisbane in 5 years or so and wants somewhere nice to live when she gets here. Like most others she wants a riverfront location but is appalled to know that some of her picks were inundated by the floods in January. What is wrong with living on the side of a mountain and looking out to see I ask. Anyway, we will spend today having a leisurely drive around town and picking out some interesting spots. Of course all of this is dependent on whether she can actually live in an apartment or not and before the final decision is made she will probably rent one for a couple of months or so.

Laura - so sorry to hear of the hassles you have with this trip. I was sitting here thinking about the passport thing and wondering why you would need one for Seattle. Last I heard it was part of the States. Then I remembered that I had to produce mine for every plane trip I made over there and in Phoenix, the young lady on security screamed 'A KIWI' at the top of her voice and every single person in the place looked at us. Turns out she had been to NZ some years before. Here they will accept the drivers licence as proof of id. Anyway, I hope it will work out for you both somehow. Rant as often as you like we will take it and we care.

Mel - thank you for the birthday wishes, seems we will have a long celebration since it is not until tomorrow but then when you get as old as me, who cares- only the firemen who turn up to hose the house down because the number of candles on the cake set the house alight. And Happy will be happy because she can celebrate at the same time and we can all be old together.
Lusting after Mike Holmes now - you wicked woman you. I can see we will have to find you a new hobby before you go chasing after the man and running him down. He's married, he's busy, he's got kids.

Ceejay - nice to have a housecleaner. I really need to organise one as well. I can not keep up with the house and work as well. The house is clean enough but needs windows cleaned and cupboards cleaned out and floors scrubbed - all the heavy stuff.

Happy - hope the PC is now well again. Such a nuisance when they cr*p out like that. Lucky DH is so handy.

Michelle - hope you are now feeling better again. And Mischief the doggy as well.

Annie - not having a break I see still as busy as ever. Good things come to those who wait I'm told. Hope they do soon for you as well and you win the lotto and take a nice long break.

Okay - better go and sort out the cat -who is being very catty with R who is a cat person and who adores cats. Tell me why do cats like people who do not like them? And then I'd better get showered and dressed and ready to face the day.
Oh and while I think about it - Royal weddings always seem to be at a time which is guaranteed to clash with just about anything else. Friday in London at lunchtime more or less - traffic will be chaos, people will be absolutely everywhere and the underground will be shut down. The colonials - that's us - will have to get out of bed or stay awake, and the Americans will be just about to wake up or maybe not depending on the time zone. Off with their heads
