Good morning ladies,

I had a very good PT session yesterday...some exercising and LOTS of good stretching. Odd thing was, after I got home, I started feeling REALLY nauseous and dizzy. I had felt nauseous a couple days ago, but I thought I was over that. Anyway, I was going to go to water aerobics. In fact, I had already changed my clothes and had my bathing suit on under my sweats. Then the dizziness got worse, so I decided against going. At PT though, I talked with my physical therapist about how well I did at water aerobics, and that it was unfortunately only offered Mondays and Wednesdays. He suggested that I use Tuesday as a rest day (just doing PT stretches like I do every day). That way, I won't be tempted to overdo it on Tuesday evenings and not be able to do water aerobics on Wednesday (since I can work out for an hour in the water). He also suggested that if I use my Wii Fit on my off days that I only do the yoga or balance exercises...none of the cardio. Anyway, I'm glad he clarified it all for me. It feels good to have a "PT-approved" exercise plan in place even if I had to skip last night.

Next week is "Wellness Week" at my work, with speakers, seminars and various fitness classes throughout the day every day. This is the first time, they've held this event for more than 1 day. There are so many great fitness classes (Zumba, Hip Hop aerobics, Boot Camp, Pilates and Yoga). I asked my PT what he would give me clearance to do, knowing full well he would say "no" to Zumba, Hip Hop and Boot Camp. I was hoping that he would say it's okay for me to do Pilates...but nope...just Yoga. He said I should try Yoga and definitely NOT push myself and if a move hurts even a little...stop. I'm bummed as I'd love to be able to participate in the other classes, but my body's just not able to yet. They are having good seminars like healthy cooking demonstrations, healthy meal makeovers, heart health, nutrition seminars, smoking cessation, cancer screenings, desk ergomonics, stress management, and other topics. And I'm looking forward to attending some of those seminars.

I saw some news footage about the tornadoes down south. Absolutely terrifying! And all the flooding down south is awful too. I hope the forecast is correct that the storms have moved through (for now anyway).

Happy - Did you have a nice b'day evening despite the stormy weather and sleep deprivation?

Ceejay - With all the storms and flooding in your area, it's probably a very good thing you cancelled your appointments.

Shad - Bummer that it took so long for your DS2 and his friend to get through customs. Sounds like the friend is quite the character! I've known quite a few men that were in their late 30s going on 12 or 13. They say guys mature much later than girls (no kidding!). Good luck getting the changes and the documents done.

I've got to create several testing documents, fill out lots of paperwork, update my progress on my annual performance Goals, create my Individual Development Plan, and start working on a fairly large, complex report. So I'd better stop procrastinating and just do it.

Here's to a great day for all of us!

Much love and hugs,

Mellie and Annie BOTH snuck in...not once, but two times each!

Mel - I'm so glad to hear the election went well and that you were able to take a break! So sorry there's so much tension and negativity going around there with the staff, seniors and even John! I'm glad they apologized to you. I think your "herbal" remedy in the ventilation system idea is a good one. Keeping my fingers crossed that the big boss and his friend can work a miracle. I'm sorry to hear that you're state is having freak storms too! My DMIL mostly likes mysteries, romance, the King Arthur Legend, and some native american stories. I don't get to go to the spa this weekend. The massage place is all booked up until mid-June (must be from running this great special). Anyway, I booked some time in June, and I'll try and schedule an appointment with the massage therapist at the Y between now and then.

Annie - I hope your allergies and sinuses clear up soon. Good for you for taking a long weekend...even if you are using it to get housework and yardwork done.

Morning ladies

Mel
Didn't realize that you were working yesterday. Have a restful day. You deserve it.

Annie
I'm glad you don't give in with your allergies. All this weather is not good for mine either. You deserve a day off Friday too.

shad
Glad you have the ds2 back home. All that drama at the airport was a little frightening to say the least.

Michelle
Sounds like you will be a busy lady today. Have you decided on what to do for the week end?

Happy
Did you survive all those storms yesterday? There was a tornado heading towards us and the cloud dissipated.

At least the sun is out today but our street still has some water on it. I'm calling my aunt today to see if the other uncle went to Branson. Saw on the news last night that Branson flooded. Talked to my bff last night and told her I would not be coming. I know she was disappointed but she understood. We'll try for next week.
Think I'll go to the gym today to work off some stress.

Well hello ladies,

Long time no see. I started a post this morning and DH asked me for some help on something which took all of my morning time. I finally got some sleep last night. It was blessedly quiet, the weather turned cooler and I opened all the windows upstairs. Everyone got a good rest. I could have used more than 7 hours, but was grateful for that.

My birthday was not a banner day. But I'm sure I've had worse ones. I wasn't terribly hungry and we agreed to go out to a nice restaurant on the weekend to celebrate my BD so DH fixed French toast and made his famous scrambled eggs. It was a nice, light dinner. My sister called and I talked to her for 2 hours about nothing. I got on the computer for a little bit afterwards, just glancing over things and then closed up (or so I thought) and went to bed earlier. I thought I closed all the windows downstairs before I went to sleep but when I went into the downstairs master BR closet to get my clothes this morning, I noticed it was rather chilly in there. Turns out I opened the bathroom window really wide last night to get air in the house and since that's the room we are renovating, didn't even look in there last night when I went to close everything up. Would not have taken any trouble at all to break into the house last night I have to be more careful about that.

The weather and tornadoes are really scary. Another reason I can't wait to get out of here. I thought Chicago was tornado alley but it's got nothin' compared to what goes on down here. And it's with great regularity - not just a random once every 10 years thing. I'm glad we were safe. Hard to imagine your stuff blown in a 50 mile radius all over the place and you are left with nothing except blobs of insulation and kindling wood.

Ceejay - glad to hear you are ok. Sorry about the BFF - hope you can make plans to get together.

Michelle - that's awful about the dizziness. Any reason for it or did it just pass? I think the PT's suggestions on the work outs are very good ones. It's great that you have the reinforcement of such good ideas. I can understand why they put the kabosh on the Pilates. That does tax the body - not in the same way as Zumba but it's intense over the gentle stretching of yoga. Too bad you have to miss out on some of the fitness classes. I envy your Health Fair. I sure wish they would do that here. Go pick up some good tips and share with us please

Annie - I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope the drugs helped and didn't put you to sleep under your desk. How long until allergy season is over? Sending you some drying out sunshine. I think our lawn has grown 8 inches with all the rain we have had lately. It's a catch 22 - the rain makes the grass grow but wet grass as you know is so hard to cut.

I guess the mighty Mississippi River is getting ready to overflow and flood things out. DH was telling me that it can flood 150 miles in either direction/side. That's alot of flooding! I usually go down to the casinos for my birthday but DH ignored my request because hah - he thinks me getting a new laptop is my birthday present! I saw on the news last night that due to the anticipated flooding, the casinos for the first time ever will actually be shutting down by 2pm Monday. And not for a few days, could be as long as 3 weeks. I feel sorry for all the workers who depend on those wages. Most of the folks that work there are hourly and probably living from check to check. Down in the town of Tunica where they are, I think they said they got close to 8 inches of rain just yesterday alone and it's been raining for 4 days now.

Shad - that was funny about DS's buddy there. More funny that we can all relate to a bloke like that in our lives I hope they got home safe and sound. Glad to hear you had time out for some fun on your long weekend. You needed a break!

Laura - sounds like you picked up the busy schedule. Hope the demos are not too boring. Good job on sticking with the exercise!

Hi Ellen

Mel - thanks for worrying about us. Things are ok here. Sorry there is so much commotion over at your place. My manager was telling stories about her Mom in assisted living. I said nothing can top the antics that go on in your building (I don't think she cared to hear that ) Did you have a nice ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies day?

Time to post this and get back to work. Later kids.

Morning all

Another dreary grey day. Please can we have autumn and winter back as we used to know it? The rain can just dash off somewhere else. I hear they need it in Western Australia.

I went and picked up DS2 from work yesterday afternoon and we had a steak and chips dinner and he went to sleep on the couch and never woke up until around 5am this morning. Must have been worn out. Haven't seen all the gear they bought yet but no doubt will over the weekend. I know there was a couple of suits and two new suitcases. Apparently the mad mate went ape over shopping and bought 50 of everything.

Happy - so glad to hear that you are okay. The news this morning was a bit frightening. Hope it goes away and stays away and that the Mississippi doesn't do damage when it floods. Those poor people.

Mel - think peaceful thoughts today and don't let that lot get you.

Ceejay - hope you stay safe from the flooding and storming as well. Sad that you didn't get to see your friend but better to be safe than sorry.

Annie - Glad to hear that DD is doing well and the peanut is in a comfortable place. Only 7 weeks gone! that leaves about 35 to go. This will be a long pregnancy for her great aunts to go through!!! And of course the Grannie!!!

Michelle - Sorry to hear about the dizzy spells. Are you eating enough? Seems that everything wants to conspire against you at the moment. It will all come right tho' I am sure. Pilates can be tough on the back, so stick with the water aerobics and the yoga for the time being. You are probably achieving more with the water stuff than you think. It never seems to be as tough as a landed workout but it really does work.

Laura - hope you enjoyed the movie or found something better to do with your evening.

Better go do some work. Catch up later.

Hey everyone. Just popping in to say a quick hello. I skimmed posts but am still not caught up. I think Michelle may have asked am I giving or receiving software demos - we are receiving. The software is a RMIS - risk management information system. Two down, two to go.

I actually went to the movie last night (Hanna) to distract myself from worrying about today, and it worked. I was entertained. Weak story, but I thought the action was good and the characters pretty good. Not sure if it's up everyone's alley, but it worked for me. I told bf it's worth getting via netflix, but then again a guy probably would like this type of thing better - assasins, violence, action.

Okay, gotta run to the circuit class!

Annie
Enjoy the date tonight.

Laura
Don't work to hard.

Mel
Enjoy your time outside. I need to do this myself for today.

Every one else have a good day.

Yesterday was a relaxing day. Haven't had to many of those lately.
I've adjusted the screen on the computer and it makes a big difference. Change the mouse cursor but do not like it so I'm going back to the old one.
Today is a bit more straightening up in the house.

Quick post for me today as I have lots on my to do list. I opted for a little more sleep instead of getting up to watch the wedding. Though the photos I've seen are lovely.

Annie - I didn't see you in any of the royal wedding photos...but then again there were so many guests. Have fun on your date tonight.

Shad - Your DS2 and his friend did lots of shopping? I don't know many men who enjoy shopping (unless it's in a hardware store).

Ceejay - Glad you had a relaxing day. Not sure if you're still having awful weather, but stay safe.

Mel - I'm wishing you a quiet, relaxing day and weekend.

Ellen - How are you and DD2 and the rest of your family?

Laura - I'm glad the movie distracted you from your worries. What's going on that has you so stressed?

Happy - So nice of your DH to fix you a yummy b'day dinner. Scary about leaving the window open. But maybe when you move up north, you'll be able to do that without any worry. Several times I have forgotten to close the garage door, leaving all the stuff inside the garage easy pickins for thieves, not to mention the door from the house to the attached garage is always unlocked. Thank goodness we live in the country (and have a cop right next door). We've never had any trouble (knock on wood). I thought Wisconsin got a lot of severe weather too, until I started seeing all the tornadoes that the southern states get. Wow, the Mississippi flooding must be really serious to make the casinos shut down! So does that mean no casino trip for you this weekend?

Okay....I've really got to sign off for now. Lots to get done.

let's all have a great day and a wonderful weekend!!

Love and hugs,

Miss Annie - If I had even 1/10th of your energy, I'd be so happy. It's so gorgeous outside (62 degrees!). If I didn't have to work, I'd be soaking up the warmth in a lawn chair, since I don't have the all clear to do yard work yet. Instead I'm finishing up my work for the day and I have to head to a doc appt. DH has taken Mischief to the vet for another blood test to make sure her red blood cell count isn't too high. I may go to the pool after the doc appt...or I may just come home and soak up the sun (I love that Sheryl Crow song!).

Afternoon ladies. I am still here, just not been motivated. Paid bills today now out of money! not feeling well after lunch...but off to work in a few minutes none the less. Weather is finally starting to get nice, but still waiting...kids are doing well. DH had to have "the talk" with DS after I found some not nice sites on my computer. I knew this day was coming but I did not realize that it would be here so soon. I really must be getting old! Time to go in for another dye/highlight job...so tired. Will try to post over the weekend if slow at work.

Luv and Hugs!!

Quick hey to you all. All those demos have turned my brain to
Mush , but we've eliminated two & are pretty impressed w/ the other two software apps.

Nothing going tonite & bf has some sort of sporting event his bro invited him to. I think I'll just relax w/ a glass of wine.

No personals right now, but i'm glad you're all okay after all this severe weather!!
