Good morning ladies,

Gonna be a busy news day today

Woke up to a fine dusting of snow on the grass and anything metal. Not enough to mess up the streets (I hope) but still more than I wanted to see.

DH said he felt like he was coming down with a cold yesterday and this morning out of no where, it appears mine is back again. Last night when I went to bed my throat felt like I had swallowed glass and I was thinking oh no Today I have the snuffly, sneezing, headachey, can I go back to bed and start all over again blues. That's what I get for eating vegetable soup and clementine tangerines and trying to stay on plan and healthy

Well - it appears to be universal that ALL of our scalps itch when we get our hair colored. That makes me feel better as I thought it was just me.

Patty - actually for all of us I think, somewhere in our house - either right out there visible or hidden away on a forgotten low shelf is one last Christmas decoration that we find somewhere about Easter Your post reminded me that I have a snowman flag out front. Guess I'll leave it one more day as it's most appropriate this morning

I don't think they make a better grill than the old round black Weber kettle

Hi Michelle - hope you are feeling on the mend and you got that pesky report to run. How are the lungs doing? Ready to go play in the 20 degree weather?

Hmmm, I thought brocolli rabe was that thin, skinny sort of baby brocolli stuff. Not sure I'd like the greens either. My rabbit used to love brocolli leaves as much as she loved apple slices but they made her smell icky. I don't want to smell like that so I'll pass on the soup too. I bought a bunch of steamers (clams) yesterday. Chowder tonight or tomorrow.

Shad - the new furniture looks very pretty. Is that wicker? And a bright blue grill - how fun is that! I guess you could look at the hair expense as a necessary for the job interviews I found that a straight dye job is much cheaper than getting the highlights. Since I only had a few, she charged for a regular dye job only which saved quite a bit. Sending some good fairy dust your way for good job vibes... And your bird of paradise makes quite a nice PC background!

Annie - both you and Bella are looking like cuties Olivia is adorable. Glad your numbers came out good on the tests. Keep up the good work. Ummm WHAT VD test? is that a standard now? Why did my doctor not discuss this with me? There is something to be said for being in a long term relationship

Ceejay - did you get some snow too? Hope you aren't "snowed under" when you get back to work Sorry... I couldn't resist the pun.

Mel - hope you are warm and cozy and able to enjoy a quiet day in the house. Go find me a recipe without beans or olives

Ok, better get moving here. Later chicks.

Oh and Ruth - saw somewhere that the Obamas have narrowed it down to 2 dogs - a Labradoodle and ... a Portuguese Water Dog!!!! Can yah imagine???? If not for you I would not have known what that was. You may have started a trend with Hershey.

Howdy Mel - she's over my head again as usual. Thanks for the tip on the baby shampoo. I was thinking the same thing. I used something called Catwalk - oatmeal and honey that I had picked up for my Mom when she was here. It smells nice and I thought maybe the oatmeal would be good for the itching. I wonder if it will also lower my cholesterol through absorption

Take care of yourself chickie! I think the creeping crud is making it's rounds all over. Hot tea and a shot of Annie's Southern Comfort should take care of us! I have hot apple cider and cinnamon sticks too if you prefer.

Good Morning Dearies........

OMG Happy...nearly cracked up on the VD test comment. Yes, that is a standard test my doc runs when doing your yearly. Unless you state otherwise, and since I am in an "ACTIVE" relationship, I thought what the hey, might as well.....I told Tony is came back clear...he said he didn't have any worries or concerns about it anyway. Pretty trusting soul..hahaha

MEL...I have decided that you and a couple of the other worldlies..Michelle, Ceejay, Patty and whoever else, all need dipped in an antibiotic solution then have an IV drip. GET BETTER NOW...that is an order...hehe

Michelle...Hope your day at work slows down just a bit and it is a good one!

We had a bit of a dusting of snow last night, but it mostly blew off the road before I came into work. High today is only 24 once again. Tomorrow is 30, Thursday is 40 then back down to the 20s for the weekend. BURRRRRRRRR.

I am going to use my $$ from my missed France airline ticket to go to Corpus Christi in March to visit my GF and her family. I fly into San Antonio on the 17th at 11:35 PM EST, we will stay at her daughter's apartment, then hang around San Antonio the 18th, then drive on down to Corpus, coming back home on the 21st. I am very excited about the trip.

Going to watch a 7th grade BB game tonight. A friend's son is playing at a school down the street from me. It brings back memories from when my kids were involved in all of that. Sweet tears....

Hello to everyone, all have a MARVELOUS day!

Much love and Many hugs,

Did you know that there's actually a physical reason for your fat getting all squishy? And it's a GOOD thing?

When your body starts burning stored fat, it goes for the intramuscular fat first -- the fat marbled inside your muscles (like the fat on a steak ) That intramuscular fat kept the fat surrounding the muscle firmly in place, nice and tight and hard.

Once you lose the fat in the muscle, the surrounding fat is loose and flopping around because its anchor (the fat marbled throughout the muscle) is gone. Everything starts to wiggle and wobble like Jello!

Tell yourself that fat getting squishy is a very good thing! The next step is for that squishy fat to disappear. So remember, if your fat is getting squishy, it's on the road out of town.

Just a quick post....

I just watched the inauguration! My work had the big screen TV on in the cafeteria. What an amazingly inspirational speech! I'm so excited, hopeful and...yes...inspired! History was made today! Positive change is on the way!

Morning all,
I too have been watching the inauguration. One has to hope.
It's a historic day, but unfortunately my new plants will not wait for any president of the US or otherwise - they need to be planted now.

Bike ride was a wash out yesterday, the front tyre was flat halfway down the street, so I had to come home. Today I will look for the pump or go buy a new one. I do however note that the butt is already protesting about that bloody seat.

I'll be back later for personals.

I was suprised this morning with the dusting of snow. It sure was pretty. It's all gone now. Hope the cold doesn't come back. This is the kind of snow I like.

Not much else is happening except for the Presidential stuff on t.v

Going to bed at a decent time tonight. I kept watching the clock thinking I'd over sleep. I'm a little tired today.

Hello to the rest of the chicks

Ugh, I am sick again. Not sure if I should just trot over to the nurse practioner again and pick up my z-pack or wait a few days. Not a happy camper!

Mel - I would wish for some warmer weather for you but it's coming later in the week and even I can't make it warm up 15 degrees at once. I hope it will be good enough to let you get a quick trip to the store in.

Ceejay - I agree with you. This is all the snow I need. Around 9am it was snowing light and lovely heavy flakes. For 15 minutes. That was enough to ooh and ahh. And then it moved east

Shad - I have tried all kinds of bike seats and none of them are comfy. Well except for one that we got for my dad for his exercise bike. It looked like something you'd put on a tractor. It was W-I-D-E. And it looked big as a big screen tv. The shocker was when you'd sit in it and your tush would fit just fine. AM I THAT BIG???? Say it's ain't so I guess the trick is to start out slow and not get those inner thigh muscles irritated too badly.

I caught bits and pieces of the innauguration on the telly. It was just plain AMAZING all those people there. I did wave buh-bye as Georgie got into the helecopter and headed off into the sunset.

That's a very interesting fact on the fat Annie - I guess that explains why some people after super rapid weight loss tend to look like they are deflating. I'm not sure my fat was ever firm tho

Ok, posting now as I have to try and get to work early tomorrow - they are installing new versions of Words and Excel (Office 2007). That ought to mess things up really good. The network was so slow today that I had problems doing anything at all.

Go on over to the nurse practioner, the sooner the better. I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow. I can't get rid of this cough. It's being a pain. Brought the cough syrup to work today.

Mel
Stay bundle up when you are out and about. I asked the boss today for a dust mask to wear when i go outside. When this cold air hits my lungs I have severe coughing spells. It's not fun.

To the rest of the gang

GOOD MORNING CHICKLETTES!

THEY CANCELED MY TRIP TO MOTOR VEHICLES. ONE DRIVER DIDN'T COME IN YET SO MINE HAD TO TAKE THE "DOCTOR'S RUN". THAT'S OK WITH ME CAUSE IT WAS ONLY 14 DEGREES OUT WHEN I GOT UP AND I HAD A BAD NIGHT WITH THE EYES. A BIT OF DRY EYE ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT MAYBE NEXT WEDS WILL BE WARMER. I AM PRAYING FOR A HEATWAVE FOR TOMORROW'S TRIP TO TRADER JOE'S!
I WILL TRY AND COMMENT LATER OR TOMORROW.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY

Quick pass through! Sorry to hear how many Worldlies have the creeping crud. I've managed to escape it, probably because I'm not young and succulent like the rest of you. Squishy fat!

We're back in the deep freeze again at -27ºC and today I have to wander bush roads in the township to track down a quilt than a woman machine-quilted for me. She's somewhere that even Google Maps can't find. I am taking my cell phone with me and Disney, the Rescue Dog, who has to work pet therapy today. If I don't return, send out Scotch and some dog biscuits, please.

Time to bundle up and get on with it. Wish I had long johns - the underwear, not the guy although I did know a....never mind! of course!

Happy - So sorry to hear that you are sick again. The best way to get rid of the crud is to rest, but definitely do see the nurse practitioner ASAP. For me, the antibiotics and a good cough syrup really did help (in addition to the rest).

Ceejay - I hope you are feeling better soon. Good for you for asking for a mask to wear when you go outside.

Ruth - Good luck on your quest to find the quilting woman. Don't you get lost in the great white north! It's way too cold there! I can't believe you don't have long johns living up there!

Shad - DH and I found bike seat cushions that fit over your bike seat. They are wide and gel filled and while they don't take away all the rubbing and uncomfortableness, they help A LOT and I highly recommend them!

Mel - Probably a good day to stay home, stay warm and rest (including resting your eyes). Do you have any of those artificial tears? They help my DH a lot when he gets dry eyes.

Annie - I hope your day is going well.

Love and hugs to all my worldly chickie friends!

Good Evening Worldlies........

Just got back from dinner with Tony. His two kids will be the death of him. Yikes the poor man raising 17 year old twins on his own sucks. The ex is an alcoholic and could care less. They cut school, disrespect the teachers, one got caught with pot, I say beat the boys...nothing else has seem to work. ;^)

Tomorrow's high is supposed to be 45 degrees. Hopefully it will. I am SICK of this COLD, NASTY weather.

Say a few prayers for my son. He sounds so down and depressed. He is still looking for a job with no success. He did have an interview last week however we all know how dang SLOW places can be. He is breaking my heart every time I talk with him. He just sounds so sad. My daughter said she talked to my son and he told her that their dad (whom he lives with) is being mean. Typically being verbally abusive to him. I would love to hang that ex of mine up by the n*ts! Then beat him with a baseball bat....for more than one or two reasons, to say the least.

Happy...OMGoodness Girl...get your behind back to the doc, before it gets any worse. You poor thing. Love, hugs and prayers.

Ruth...long johns...yeah we know what you mean....

MEL...it is too stinkin cold out to do anything. You stay inside, warm, and HEALTHY....you got it?

Ceejay....you stay inside too, tell that boss of yours I SAID TO DO ALL YOUR OUTSIDE STUFF....

I thought the inauguration speech was great. I do believe, however, the man has promised a lot, said there will be many changes, now has a lot on his shoulders to proove.. I hope for his sake he can.

Well it is 8:22 pm and bout time to wrap it up and snuggle in for a short, brief nap before work tomorrow, as I don't sleep most of the time....

Hello to everyone.

Love and Hugs....and many prayers for the worldlies tonight.
