Got a lot of stuff done over the weekend. Spent Saturday morning cleaning the house. Then gave Hella Bella a bath a cut. She hated it and bit the H*ll out of my hand. I didn't talk to her the rest of the day. Then got the laundry done. Spent Sunday picking up all the trash in my yard and the neighbors yard (it would of ended up in my yard), from the wind storm last week. Then scooped doggie poop. Touched up paint on the walls. Finished the rest of the laundry. Made dinner for the Tone man and I and had a great evening. Back to work this morning. It will be a full crew, first one in two weeks.
Michelle...coleslaw does count toward the cabbage good luck, don't know about the fried fish....hehe
Carla...oooh, muscle spasms, yikes, those hurt like the dickens. Bless your heart. I get regular charlie horses every night from wearing heals at work. That is bad enough.
Happy....Tony is the manager of maintenance at a factory. Maintenance was working OT during the shutdown to clean all the machines. So he had to be there also to supervise. He doesn't get OT, just his normal salary.
Shad....cabbage or black eyed peas will work for luck. Don't know how lucky it is as I eat it every year....and you know the rest of that story.
MEL....Feeling fine in 2009, you certainly are NOT playing the game very well. You get to feeling your very best my dear. Tell that office to go jump in a lake.
Ceejay...hope you are doing ok. I am not in the talkative mood sometimes too.

Good morning ladies,
Yep, this is the REAL back in the saddle again. Eveyrone should be back at work and on the highways and all over just ticking us off and getting in our way
Annie - you sure had a busy weekend. Great job on getting all those things done. Hope the job goes well for you today now that everyone is back scurrying around.
Patty - enjoy the concert! DH was showing me an espisode of Oprah with this amazing 16 year old Asian girl who had a set of pipes to rival Whitney and Celine. Her dream was to sing one day with Celine. They surprised her while singing with an appearance by Celine via satellite inviting her to sing with her I thought when she did a Texas show on tour. Maybe you will get to see her. She is amazing. Anyway hope you have a great time.
Ceejay - funny you should say back in the saddle my thoughts EXACTLY!
And with that - time for me to get back in mode again. They are talking about the possibility of freezing rain tonight. I hope not. It's cold again. Brrr.
I'm pleased to say that I'm feeling a bit better. I still have a cough and get winded and don't have my strength back yet, but still a considerable improvement. Plus, I'm able to think more clearly, which I think has to be the result of getting more oxygen. Yay! I'm back at work today with lots to do. Due to being sick (which limited my productivity) and taking a couple vacation days, I've got lots to catch up on....good thing I can think clearly now. My DMIL is leaving on Thursday morning. It's too bad that we felt so poorly so we weren't able to do much with her, but we had a nice holiday visit, watched some old movies and hopefully she enjoyed her stay with us as much as we truly did love having her.
I hope the rest of you chicks start feeling better too - because we're supposed to be feeling fine this wonderful month and year! I have such a positive outlook and attitude on this new year that it will bring us all health, happiness and financial stability.
Mel - I hope you're feeling better. I didn't get to watch Springtime in the Rockies, but I did take in a couple other old movies, and some football, so it was a great weekend for me! Good for you for resting and letting the building fend for itself. Remember to put yourself first! And don't worry if anyone sees you as weak....you take on way too much and need to look out for YOU for a change! Those Balsamic chicken breasts sound great!
Carla - I hope your back feels better soon. Back spasms are no fun. How nice of your neighbor to offer to get you some muscle relaxants. Happy's advice about alternating heat and ice really is good. That's helped me a lot in the past. Be careful how you move, and if you can do light isometric stretches, even just trying to get your back in neutral alignment, that might help.
Shad - I know you're having computer issues, but I hope you're doing well and enjoying gardening and the warm weather.
Happy - I'm so glad to hear you're doing better and the cement has cleared out. Good for you for coming up with exercise alternatives like On Demand videos and moving the treadmill. I'm looking forward to feeling a bit better so that DH and I can get the basement cleaned and organized so we can set up the Nordic Track and the exercise bike and a weights area. We'll eventually put a TV and VCR/DVD down there to do videos on days when the roads are too bad to get to the gym. I'm hoping to start getting back to the gym next week, as long as I have my "wind" and "energy" fully back.
Patty - I hope you're enjoying your vacation day! Have a fabulous time at the Celine concert (I know you will)!
Ceejay - I hope your work week is going well. Not too much longer for your vacation.
Annie - You definitely got a lot done! Wow! I wish I had half of your energy!!
I'm so eager to take steps toward making all my goals reality. I'm definitely ready to get back in the saddle again too!
That is so sad about John Travolta's son. My Samantha absolutely loves John Travolta since the movie Grease. She was only 2 1/2 and stood on the coffee table siging her heart out as Sandy in the movie.
MY DAY WENT BY SO QUICKLY I CANNOT BELIEVE IT'S ALREADY AFTER 2. IT ALL BEGAN WITH SOME LAUNDRY AND ENDED UP IN THE OFFICE. THE "AFTER HOLIDAY" STUFF IS A PAIN TAKING ALL THE DECORATIONS DOWN. I LEFT THE TREE UP IN THE SENIOR ROOM CAUSE OF TOMORROW'S LITTLE CHRISTMAS FOR THEM AND THEY LIKE TO CELEBRATE THE 3 KINGS. AND I AM JUST NOT UP TO IT YET EITHER. JEN AND I ARE BOTH ALMOST 100%. WE BOTH NEED A FEW MORE DAYS TO GET OUR STRENGTH BACK I THINK SO I AM NOT RUSHING IT AND NEITHER IS SHE.
THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT I WEIGHED IN LAST WEEK AT 186.5 AND TODAY WAS 184. ALL BECAUSE THE PILLS AND COUGHING STOPPED AND I STARTED DRINKING WATER OVER THE WEEKEND. SO I GUESS THAT WAS 2 1/2 LBS OF PEE???? ROFL JUST SO YOU KNOW,
I AM GOING FOOD SHOPPING IN THE MORNING.
HAPPY~ I HEAR YOU ON GETTING ALL THE DUCKS IN A ROW. I WAS JUST TALKING T0 JEN ABPOUT THAT. WE DID THE WILLS AND MADE COPIES FOR THE HOUSING AUTHORITY BUT I NEED TO GET THE INS STUFF ORGANIZED ETC. THAT WILL BE ANOTHER GOAL FOR YOU AND I THIS YEAR!! HOPE YOU WERE OK AT WORK TODAY. WE SIT HERE WAITING FOR THE FORZEN RAIN BUT NOTHING YET!!
CEEJAY~ WOW!! HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT 6 DAYS WHEN THEY COME AROUND!! WILL ANY BE SPENT WITH THE FAMILY?? HOW ARE THE AUNTS AND UNCLES DOING??
PATTY~ HAVE A GREAT TIME AT THE CONCERT. THE WOMEN IN HERE LOVE CELINE!!! ENJOY THE MOMENT!! GLAD MOM AND DAD WERE HAPPY.
ANNIE~ I SHOULD HAVE SENT MY LAUNDRY TO YOU!!! GLAD THE WEEKEND WAS SO PRODUCTIVE...YOU BUSY BEE YOU!! SO DINNER OR TONY WAS FINE??? OR BOTH???
MICHELLE~ I AM GLAD YOU FEEL BETTER AND CAN BREATHE A BIT BETTER. THAT HAS TO BE THE WORST PART FOR YOU. GET WELL AND STILL BE CAREFUL. I AM SURE THE DMIL WAS GLAD TO BE WITH YOU BOTH FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND "CHIT" CAN'T BE HELPED STAY WELL AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF!!
Mel - So glad to hear you are doing better and just about 100%. Don't overdo it though. Just make sure you and Jen BOTH get your rest. Congrats on the weight loss! LMAO about the 2.5 lbs of pee! We had the frozen rain Saturday night....coated everything with 1/4" of solid ice. Luckily, it was warm enough on Sunday for salt on the roads and sidewalks to work.
I can't get warm today. This cold freezinig rain makes my knees and shoulder hurt.
Happy
My uncle came up the stairs Saturday singing that song. He had watched an old Gene Autry movie. It's been on my mind since then.
Are you getting this freezing rain?
Mel
So glad that you are almost 100% again. Just don't over do things. Can you motivate some one else to pack up the Christmas tree? After rearranging the freezer last night to put some more groceries in there I told myself that I would just buy fresh fruit this week. I have enough frozen food for a month.
My vacation time is just for me. I told my aunt I would come over on Saturday and Sunday as usual. I think that's the uncle's time together also. I had another uncle tell me Sunday that we needed to do this more than once a month. Oh and congrats on those pounds lost. They are gone whatever it might be!!!!
Michelle
You must be feeling better to be back at work. Don't over do things.
Annie
If you run out of things to do come down to my house.
Aah boy, I really need some one around to keep me on the straight and narrow with eating!!!!
I'm sure I am out of control. And I need to go find a gym which I can use on a casual basis because apart from gardening and cleaning I really am not doing well on the exercise.
I DO NEED TO LOSE SOME WEIGHT THIS YEAR!
Lots of posts there and I just can't reply at the moment so forgive me for I am busy. Still looking for a job. I still have these two contracts on the go. The first one - the job is mine but they haven't yet fully approved the project You gotta wonder! And the other mob are organising interviews (1 and 2) so I haven't heard back from them yet either.
Meantime the garden is being cleared of the noxious weeds and the house is being cleared of spiders and then the yard will need to be sprayed for ants. And I need to finish off on a couple of projects I have on the go as well. Oh the joys of living in the tropics.
Sheesh, what a Tuesday Morning....Slick and freezing rain on the way in Took me an hour to drive a 20 minute commute and what the heck is it with all these tailgators? Do they think it is a football game out there or what. I so badly wanted to stop my car and go back there and smack that driver. The drive home won't be much better either. This crap is supposed to go on all day. Yikes!
Will post more later...got to go poo right now.
Love and hugs

By the end of the day yesterday, I was feeling pretty tired. I guess I still don't have my strength back. But I'm feeling a bit better yet today after a good night's sleep.
Ceejay - I hope you were able to finally feel warm by evening. Thanks for the word of caution. I'm not going to overdo...I definitely don't want to get really sick again. I'm taking it very, very slowly.
Shad - Great to hear from you! I hope this means your computer is working properly now. Good luck with the job hunt! With your skills and experience, I'm sure a wonderful job will come your way soon. Isn't it crazy how they can say a job is "yours" but they haven't approved the project?? Have fun gardening and de-insectifying!
Mel - I hope today finds you and Jen feeling even better.
Happy - I hope you are feeling your best too!
Annie - I hope you're having a great day at work!
Well, I've got lots to get done....so I'd better get on with it.
Annie - we posted at the same time. I'm glad you made it to work okay. Icy roads are bad enough, but worse when people tailgate. Don't they understand they may not be able to stop if they need to and need to allow more room? Crazy! Again, I'm just glad you made it to work okay. Here's to a safe drive home too.

Good morning ladies,
First off Shad - I'm giving you the official finger wag While you are cleaning out the yard, take a break, go inside and clean out that kitchen. Sit down and make a shopping list and go off to the store and get you some healthy foods. Toss the junk in the rubbish bin. Replace with some things that make your head and tummy go ahhhhhh, yum The head must approve for health's sake Don't stop to pass go, do it today and report back please.
Ceejay and Annie - please be careful today when outside. We luckily dodged another icy bullet as it moved north by you. Makes me insane how people tailgate but the worst is when you leave space for sudden stopping if needed and idiots use that as an opportunity to jump right in front of you. Annie - I always make sure I have a CD of nice, mellow music on hand for those hellishly long commutes.
Michelle - I guess this bug we have is taking hold and not letting go too easily. There was a moment of feeling better but... still tired out. I guess you just take it slow and get some extra sleep to fight off the germs trying to make a comeback. Hope you're feeling better today also.
Mel - hope you didn't get that icy rain and that the sun will be shining on you. Glad Jen is feeling better. How are you doing today?
After not seeing him since December 15, yesterday Mr. Feral made his appearance again. He did spend some time sleeping in his bed over the Christmas holiday but we hadn't actually seen him in a while. We both figured he was gone for good which is what always happens. He's not that interested in food but looks healthy - just coming to snuggle in "his" blanket. I don't blame him - it's miserable, cold, rainy, and near freezing out there. I don't want to leave either But I must. See you later...
Happy - Glad to hear that Mr. Feral is back. I'm sure he really appreciates the warm, cozy home you provide for him.
I'm having a devil of a time managing the side effects of the Prednisone I'm on. I'm ALWAYS hungry! I just ate a good lunch of lasagna, veggies, salad and a breadstick and I'm still hungry. And it's physical sensations of being hungry - stomach rumbling, dizziness, light-headed, etc. Despite the fact that I've been cutting back on my dose (per doc's instructions), I'm still just as starving as I was on the higher dose. Oh well, just 1 more week - thank goodness. I'm afraid to weigh myself, but I do know that no matter what I can and will lose weight and get fit in 2009.
Mitchellez- My mom was on a steriod for a while and I remember she said she would get so hungry it was crazy. She use to carry a bag of carrots... She said even though that's not what she wanted just the sense of chewing help her. Might give that a try?
Shad - I too am out of control. Here it is Jan 6th and i still don't have a food plan. Let's get one going?
Happy - I'm so glad Mr. Feral made an appearance. I'm sure he appreciates a nice warm bed.
Ceejay - I'm with you. This cold makes my whole body hurt. Stay warm.
Annie - Yikes, having to drive in that weather would drive me crazy. Be careful. Be glad you don't have to drive here in Texas... most people don't know how to drive in that kind of weather. We get a cold spell... and it's like accident city.
Mel - glad to hear you and Jen are starting to feel better.
Last night was the concert, It was great. She sang all her best hits. The concert was short to me, but she kept it entertaining. Even durning her costume changes, she had dancers that would come out. Great show..

PATTY....WE JUST MISSED EACH OTHER. CONCERT SOUNDED GREAT AND I AM GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD TIME!
SHE IS SO LOVED BY SO MANY PEOPLE.
HELLO CHICKS! DANG IT'S COLD AND BLUSTERY OUT THERE. ICE STORM HEADING OUR WAY. I WENT TO THE SUPERMARKET AND STOCKED UP FOR A WEEK OR MORE. THURSDAY IS TRADER JOE'S IF THE WEATHER IS OK BY THEN. I TOOK N O CHANCES AND MADE SURE I HAVE ENOUGH IN THE FRIDGE. I AM THINKING OF NEVER GETTING MY MAIL AGAIN...SOC. SECURITY SAYS I OWE THEM OVER $1700. NOW AND THAT IS CRAP. MORE CALLS. MORE LETTERS. MORE PAPERWORK. GEEZ!!! AND MY ELECTRIC SUBSIDY KEEPS GETTING DENIED. THEY MUST BE LISTENING TO SOCIAL SECURITY! I JUST CAN'T WIN THIS YEAR ALREADY!

JIMMY IS GONE SO I MADE CALLS TO SET UP SOME STUFF FOR ICE/SNOW REMOVAL FOR OUR BLDG AND CAME UP HERE TO HAVE A HOT SHOWER AND GET WARM AGAIN. AND THIS IS WHERE I AM GOING TO STAY. I DID TELL ONE PERSON THAT IF THEY WANT ME TO OFFER HELP WITH THE PLUMBER ETC, THEN THEY CAN PAY FOR AND INSTALL NEW TIRES ON MY OLD WHEELCHAIR. IF NOT THEN THEY CAN FIND SOMEONE ELSE.
HAPPY TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY
