Happy Thursday! Not much new here, but today is supposed to be a dry day, so hoping to get a walk in. This whole inventory at work thing is not helping me get any exercise, as I'm mostly stuck in one place, rather than my normal walking around the building. Blecch!
Penny, I think this is going to be a good season for you to start watching BL. The contestants seem much nicer than last season, and I'm feeling more inspired already!
Judy, congrats on the logging and journaling! Hope the doc visit went well...
Jenn, welcome aboard, and good luck! "Secret eater" - ahhhh, I feel your pain. I still do it a little bit, but not nearly as much as in the past. Keep posting! We're all in this together.
Kathy, we had the ice, too, but it didn't get me out of work! Where is Milton? I'm in the Philly suburbs. Congrats on getting stuff done on your unexpected day off!
Mariana, hi! Hope all is good!
Marie, where are you? Hope you're doing well!
Off to work, . Have a great day everyone!

Hi Everyone!
Today was a good day. I was back to work today and the kids were back to school. Today my boss's wife brought bananna bread in, which I love, but I didn't have any. I ate my fruit and yogart instead.
I have been doing well on exercising, but some how I hurt my right knee. I spoke to the chiropractor about it today and he said to continue to exercise but take it easy. I was glad because if I had to stop it would be hard to get motivated again.
Auntie g - Milton is in Central PA. We are about 3 hours NE of Philly.
I must run. My 7th grader has a baskeall game at 5:30 and my 9th graders has a wrestling match at 6:00. My husband and I'll have to go different directions, but that's the joy of having kids!
Have a great evening.
Kathy

Weekend is just around the corner!!! For that, I'm thankful. It's hard to get back into the swing of working 5 days a week after so many fun weeks through the holidays.
Food is on track and exercise improved a little this morning as I put my speed and incline on the treadmill back to where I was before the knee went out. I can't do it without holding the sides to take pressure off the knee, but still, it's not bad.
Judy, my office didn't make it too far into 2009 without crank co-workers. I'm getting more vocal about language as when a co-worker swore, I said "potty mouth". I can handle swearing of course, but constantly in a school district is yucky.
Auntie, get out there for that walk and wear out the pedometer. I can't watch BL as their commercials make me gag. I have nothing against fat, as I am fat. But I don't ever show my fat cells rolling around for public display. Anyway, I'm glad it motivates you.
Kathy, it sounds like you're in a great pattern with the WW tracking and exercising. I can't take an exercise day off as I'm terrified of falling out of it. Since I'm obsessed with it, I keep at it. But I don't do toning, muscles, etc every day - actually rarely as my knee has sidelined most of that. Actually, bad excuse as my arms "could" workout. OK, maybe I'll put a little thought in adding arm work a couple times a week. I like aerobic workout best.
Jenn, welcome to the thread. Join in often.
Mariana, I hate rodents. Icky, creepy. Although Penny's pic was cute. Also, my doggies love trips to Petco and I personally found the pet rats cute as well. The mice and other creepies I didn't like.
Penny, now when I go to FL in 5 weeks, I'll have to look for the honey as well. I love the coconut spread you can get at the orange groves. I LOVE that stuff and plan to buy some. i'll have to use sparingly, but it's so wonderful.
Well my meeting is about to start so I'll say bye for now.
Marie

good morning ladies! haven't been online much the past few days.

so today, tomorrow and sunday = have to stay ON PLAN... NO MORE THAN 25 points/day... and hopefully my splurge won't negatively effect my weigh in on monday.

Ay-yi-yi, what a week! So much to jump back into at work, and some new issues, like that coal ash disaster in Tennessee. Oddly enough, having the Body+Soul Challenge to think about is almost a relief from the fundraising, personnel, and pile of work to deal with...once again proving that when you're busiest is the best time to slow down .
Welcome, WVU Jenn, and anyone else I might have missed these past few days! It's always nice to build off each others' energy, especially once we get past the "New Year" glow and life begins to get in the way.
Mariana, I'm not a big rodent fan, either. Actually I have a phobia that started with rats when I was wee young thing. I can tolerate guinea pigs and such, but mice and rats send me screaming towards the door. But Nibbles is cute--and a long distance away .
Marie, I love love love honey. Sometimes I splurge on Really Raw Honey, which is a brand from nearby Baltimore. But I want to spoon it up like a bear, so it's too tempting to have in the cabinet all the time. Be kind to that gimpy knee! You'll be out for spring power walks with the doggies before you know it.
The doctor's visit was informative. She was kind about my weight going up, and gave me some helpful suggestions. Apparently our bodies are nothing more than big hormonal highways, and right now I've got some traffic jams and stalled vehicles. I need to go to a vascular specialist or something to figure out how to address this weird Reynaud's disease, which is several times worse than it was a year ago. The slightest bit of chill sends the blood from my fingers, it's very painful.
I've been on plan all week, and have been doing cardio workouts most days. I fully expect to post a lost (finally!) on Monday.
Have a great weekend, chickies!

It's Friday!!!!
Yeah, the week that dragged on is nearly over!!!! YEAH
It is amazing how long the first week back after the holidays is. I think that another day or two of vacation just to ease back into 5 day work weeks was customary.
I took my doggies for a 1.5 mile walk at 5 this morning. The moon is nearly full and so beautiful. I kept getting blinded by my LED light hitting my breath as it froze in the air. So I had to breath through my nose, not my mouth (which is hard if you going full tilt). It was sort of humorous but at least the muddy road were nice and frozen.
I'm low on food this morning and that makes me happy, the munchies are not attacking. I'll get a mid afternoon snack now. Ok, that makes come out to play again.
monkey, was the game fun or was food the entertainment. May favorite way to watch any sports is with my mouth on full speed. Same with car trips. I always say I eat my way across the country on long trips.
kathy, welcome to the pain in the knee exercise club. My ortho wants my knee to not workout - I do not think so. But exercising is making it not heal but my instinct tells me that it might feel better after a month of not exercising but within a month after starting back up, I'd be limping again. Anyway, if you have to stop, try arm work so you don't have to not exercise all the way.
Judy, horray for the exercise and staying on plan all week. I knew you'd do it. You've come so far and I have put bets on you being slender and healthy!
Hi to everyone else. I should work once again although taknig a nap in the bright sunlight shining in my window would be way preferable.
Marie

Marie - Thank you for the suggestion about the "pain in the knee". The crazy thing is it doesn't hurt when I'm on the treadmill. Most of my day is spent sitting in a chair at my desk at work, so when I get up it kills my knee. I guess I should start walking around the office every hour to help keep it limber.
I usually walk 20 minutes on the treadmill and then do the Ab Lounger for 5 minutes and lift weights for 5 minutes. My husband and I usually exercise 4 times a week.
I'm so afraid to stop for fear I won't start again. I'll continue to take it easy and see how it feels.
Hope everyone has a great and relaxing weekend.
Kathy

Hi Chickies,
Just checking in quickly to say I'm on track and worked out 3x this week.
Our DS called us from the ER the other night as he had hurt his ankle badly playing volleyball . The tendons and ligaments are torn and he has some small bone splinters but the main ankle bone isn't broken, thank goodness. He's in an air-cast and is using crutches to get around. I feel bad being so far away and not able to do much but send him 'get well vibes'. He doesn't want us to come out and we're grateful he has some good buddies who are getting his pain meds and groceries for him. I guess it could have been a lot worse. Needless to say, I haven't gotten much sleep the last couple of nights!

Hello hello -
Just a quick check in to say
A) due to internet problems I may not be around for a while (not too long )
B) in the past 2 days I've burnt over 1400 calories cycling. Woohoo!! Carbs, man. That's it. 100gs of carbs 40 mins before a workout and you're on fire.
C) I hope you're all doing well and have a great weekend!!
- Mariana

OK, I love weekend. I can't help it - I just don't like leaving my house and weekends are made for staying home. So I'm sitting in front of my toasty wood stove, enjoying the pretty fire, listening to satellite radio (no commercials - well worth the price!) and surfing the net. BTW, Mr. Humungous Moon is bright and gorgeous out. Also, I read that if it's clear tonight at sunset, to look to the east horizon and that the full moon will be the biggest and brightest of 2009. How cool is that. Yes, I really adore Mr. Moon.
Penny, send get well vibes to your son. He did some major damage. I've been told enough times by drs. that most times it's better to break the bone than to do the damage to the tendons and ligaments. I really do feel bad for your son.
Mazza, I hope your internet issues resolve quickly as I wouldn't want to lose you. And go chickie on that bike. I'm assuming you're enjoying your new toy.
I admitted to DH that I tried to jog yesterday and he wasn't impressed. Oh well a girl has to try, right???
Food was on track yesterday and today is my 2nd attempt at 1900 cals. I did have 2 french toasts for breakfast instead of one so there's my start.
Hope everyone else is doing wonderfully.
Marie

Hi all! Just a quickie... Today's WI got rid of 3½ of the 9 lbs I had gained. I'm still not updating my ticker until it's in the right direction. I will get there! We got some snow this morning, and it's a mystery whether we'll get more, or it will turn to rain later. I'm hoping for a nice walk in snow! I'm trying to get more steps in on the pedometer each day, and though I'm still not up to where I should be, it is a little more each day. Yay!
Gotta split, but I hope everyone's doing well, and Penny, I hope your DS heals quickly!
Have a great weekend!

Good Morning Everyone!
It is snowing like crazy here in Central PA. We are suppose to get up to 8 inches. I'm ready to be snowed in for a day. They said the heaviest snow is to be between 5-8:00, but I think they missed it.
Penny - I'm sorry to hear about your sons injury. Hopefully he'll be on the mend soon.
Mazza - Great going on the bike riding. Keep up the good work.
I have exercised 3 days this week and stayed on plan. I'm not getting on the treadmill today or tomorrow because of my knee, but I do plan on lifting weights and doing the Ab Lounger. There will also be plenty of snow to help shovel so that will be exercise.
You all have a great day!
Kathy

Mariana - I hope your internet problem gets fixed and we hear from you again before too long.
Marie - I think it's a full moon tomorrow. I love the moonglow too - I guess we're fellow maniacs! I'm trying to think positive about our DS's ankle injury. He's doing a lot better and even drove to McDonald's to get breakfast this morning .
Auntie G - Congratulations on the 3.5 lbs. loss! Way to go!
Kathy - Looks like the east coast is getting the arctic blast that kept us snowed in a couple of weeks ago. I hope you stay cozy .
Thanks for everyone's get well wishes for my DS.
I'm logging all my foods and already feel like I've lost weight. I'm making Sundays my "official" weigh in day so I'll let you know tomorrow if I've lost any.
I hope everyone else is doing great. Have a great weekend!
