Thanks all. Well you will also be proud of me Ani in the fact that I drank 2 litres of water today The first time in a LONG time.

Lindor don't despair. We have all those premade things here but it never looks appetising anyway. I have found a yummy thing to make and it takes 15 minutes. When I feel adventurous I do it and take to work - 1 piece of shortcut bacon, cut up and dry fried with some red and green capsicum. Add it to a cup of pasta spirals. I add only a handful of grated cheese. (small handful, not packed in). It is yum and I think it is ok on calories.

NO CHOC for me at work today. wahooo. I had a half a cornmeat sandwich instead. and dinner I had pasta carbonara. (light cream, shortcut bacon)

Lindor, I'm the same with the wilted veggies in the fridge, so now when I buy them, I chop them all up and put them in an airtight container. Then I can use them either for salads or for throwing in stirfries.

I know what you mean about having wilted veg in the bottom of the fridge too!!

What I do these days is go to the greengrocer once a week and buy only what I need eg, 1 onion for cooking with, 6 apples for afternoon snacks, 1 bunch of bok choi for stir fries, 2 potatoes, 3 carrots. That way I can plan my meals in advance and nothing goes to waste.

My morning/afternoon snacks are weight watchers muesli bars, pottle of lite yoghurt, an apple, a banana or something like that.

I absolutely HAVE to prepare my lunch at night before I go to sleep or I'll end up having to buy lunch and that leads to temptation that I don't need!

I only managed a 30 minute walk last night but I figure that's better than nothing. Looking forward to getting home to Christchurch tonight although it appears that the police have shot and killed some guy about 100m away from my house

Thanks for welcoming me back, I knew you would all understand. I'm just so dissapointed in myself for having put on so much extra weight. Makes my long term goal seem soooo far away!

Had a really good day yesterday. Drank 3 litresof water, yep THREE! Ate very healthy meals and snack was an apple and a small bowl of raw mixed nuts with some raisins. Spent a good 6 hours in the garden so that's my exercise taken care of. Today I feel like I've been to the gym! My shoulders and the backs of my thighs are killing me! Even the palms of my hands hurt!

hey hey!
i lost 600grams - yippee

lindor - make salad fun, trust me i know how dorky that sounds but it honestly works for me....... buy a lettuce, tomato, carrot that is you base THEN daily alternate what you add to it, i love jalapenos, mushrooms, as a treat i have sun-dried tomatos or cubes of cheese, sometime snowpeas yesterday i had cashews and lime and pepper flavoured tuna
i sometimes feel 'naughty' when i get to a cube of cheese or a cashew, that is what makes it fun................ give it a go??

ani - i bought some snakatas today as i have had chip cravings big time lately so we'll see how that goes

any suggestions for brunch type meal??? i now 3 days a week get back from gym about 9.30/10.30am and while feeding jemima think i really should have brekky but feel like i should coz lunch is not that far away.........??????????
and i am usually not THAT hungry as the hunger pangs wear off at the gym for me sometimes, and i cant eat before i go coz then i feel sick when i am working out (i had a awful time when pregnant coz my stomach valve thingy not exactly where it should be so i easily get reflux type feelings it is gross but i just deal with it) i was thinking maybe buy some up and go drinks? would a banana be enough?

julia - that sounds scary about guy getting shot near your house.... when i moved into my neighbourhood that day in MY STREET a guy was killed with a machetti, it was gang related and as i am not in a gang i wasnt worried.... my dad answer 000 police calls and radios cars about so he can tell me exactly what happens in my street so i cant even pretend i live in safe neighbourhood

I just attacked the specials trolley at the back of Coles last night - got 3 x 6pks of Aussie Bodies Start the Day protein drinks - 195 cals, 20g protein, 4g fat, 14g carbs. Choc-banana flavour, they taste great! Luckily, since I bought 18 lol. They were only $4 for 6pk, I'll take them to work for brekkies/lunch.

I just scored two free tickets to go and see Tori Amos tonight at Perth Concert Hall - very cool

My new housemate arrived at lunch time, jet lagged and feeling a bit odd, but she seems terribly normal… and interesting. Don't tell me I've finally got the hang of choosing decent housemates

One of my cats is very sick - I'm almost too scared to take her to the vet, but I will. She is the one who got attacked by a dog two years ago, and shouldn't be here now. But she's a Warrior Princess! Anyway she was diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer a couple of months ago, and I've been giving her liquid Zantac. It ran out a week ago, and she vomited blood this morning. I rang the vet to get the script re-filled, and was told: "Bring her in!". I will… tomorrow.

Lindor can now vouch for the fact that I adore my menagerie, and I don't cope well when any of them are sick. Especially not this sick!

Blurk!

Ani, I hope your Warrior Princess will be fine! You have such an awesome little family there and I can imagine with one sick the others are not totally themselves either? And I am sure they sense your concern too. Stay positive mate - she's a fighter, she has shown that to you already!

And it strikes me that those concert tickets came at the perfect time - hope you manage to enjoy the concert!

Kel! Well done on your loss!! And thank you for the salad ideas, and come to think of it, when I started this journey, I used to regularly throw together some lettuce, tomato, onion and carrot and then add extras like tuna, cheese, ham or some chicken to it for variety. I don't know why that stopped...maybe it was when I remembered I hated shopping regularly?

Barb, has it been mentioned how good it is to hear you sounding so positive? Your post put a smile on my face!

Julia! Well done on standing your ground and sticking with your diet while away! I have to go away again in just over a week and it concerns me how I am going to manage. Any tips on how to stay on the wagon while out and about? And I'd suggest giving the walks a miss when you get home...I suggest try running especially if people are being gunned down in your neighbourhood!

Me? Ok, I promised a positive post tonight! So here it is...

...I have drunk 600ml of water today!!

Actually, I haven't been too bad today, but not really worth writing home about! And that is positive because 'not too bad' is better than the last few days!

Default Hiyaz--!

Hiyaz--!

Hmm, well I guess some sort of an introduction would be good? Ok, then..

I'm nineteen and currently reside in Australia, QLD - Gold Coast area..

As of two days ago, I decided to actually get into shape and etc... I'm somewhat pretty much doing ze DDR-Diet (Dance Dance Revolution) .. Seeing, as it pretty much is ze only type of exercise, I'm inclined to do.. and the motivation to perfect ones scores, keeps me in an elated, motivated mood.

Has anyone else tried the DDR-Diet? It really is a fun way to exercise.

I look forward to further posting and etc, in this particular thread.

Ani. its not good when your babies get sick, even the furry kind. I hope you both are doing better tomorrow. Enjoy the concert you lucky girl!

I'm glad I made you happy Lindor, but I'm not really that positive. If I write it maybe I'll eventually believe it! I'm right into beans at the moment. I get a can of three bean mix and toss in cucumber, carrott, snow peas, baby spinach, celery and a little bit of cheese (can't have any tomato or capsicum at the mo). I dress it with a tablespoon of olive oil and some cracked black pepper. Yummo! Keeps me full till tea time too.

Gen, I'm all for the bargain shop! And you got a tasty bargain thats good for you too!! Well done.

Kel. How can you go to the gym without breakfast? I get to dizzy if I don't eat first. Why not try a low fat fruit smoothy for brunch or fruit and yoghurt maybe. You should really have breakfast though then a snack when your done.

Scary stuff Julia! We had nasty neighbours two houses down from us. There was always an ambulance or police there. Thank goodness they've moved out. If they didn't we were going to! Not a pleasent environment to bring kids up around.

So, today I missed lunch. I didn't mean to, got carried away shopping then was running late to pick kids up from school! Mind you I did have two latte's (skim milk) though so that probably makes up for the missing calories! I'm in camel mode, yesterday's water intake needs to be shared with today, I've only had 500ml (can I count 4 cups of pepermint tea?)!

Welcome to our newbie this is an awesome group of women that we've got here.

Lindor, the key to my staying on track while I was away was that instead of eating all of my meals out and then getting reimbursed by the company I go to the supermarket and buy the same food that I usually have and then get reimbursed by the company for that.

This time, I bought lots of veggies for salads, a whole cooked chicken and a loaf of bread so I had chicken salads for dinner and chicken sandwiches for lunch. Fruit or weight watchers muesli bars for snacks and that's it! The hardest thing for me is sticking to the exercise and this week I've only been walking twice which is not good.

The street is still cordoned off near my house but it should be open again tonight. It seems that a guy was threatening the police with a hammer and they shot him. The media are stirring up a huge storm about it but nobody really knows exactly what happened yet.

I've just found out that I'm not working tomorrow like I thought I was so here's hoping for a fine day so that I can get my washing done!

Hello Q2BZSVOM i have no coordination whatsoeva so the DDR would frustrate me too much! i do body step at the gym and go nowhere near the mirror just in case i see myself as i would just kill myself laughing!

barb, wheneva i eat before exercise even walking i feel sick - real sick - i dont like the feeling of tasting what i have just eaten so i try to hurry up and exercise as soon as i get up so i dont have too long to think about being hungry.......... i talked to my personal trainer today and she said toast or banana or stuff like that is still ok at weird time of morning

she also suggested more food during the day rather than 'big' meals, i dont have big meals but i do have 3 meals a day in preference to snacking as i just dont trust myself to stop snacking, sometimes the snacking turns into a meal

am in trouble today - lunch at the pub followed by dinner at lonestar, tomorrow party tomorrow night which will be "nibbles" and grog and then i am already looking forward to next saturday night when i am going to an austrian restaurant for pork dinner ($30 for the pork dish buti have heard so much about it and it will remind me of when i was in austria - i have to have it!) (but am going to be extra extra good all week just so i can "justify" it)

my baby is crying (but all better) so i gotta go

ani - i hope you cat is better soon

Well Well Well ......

I have 3 things to report:

1) It's Friday afternoon and there is now only 50 minutes left in my working week

2) It's been announced that Rage Against the Machine are headlining the Big Day Out next year. That = very excited Julia, I'll be going even if I have to go to Auckland and see the gig by myself!

3) My boss has just asked me if I'd be interested in going on an educational visit to tropical north QLD. I have a good friend who lives in Cairns who I haven't seen for a couple of years so it would be great if I get to go and can sneak in a catch up!

what a great afternoon
