Hi Everyone!

Petra thanks for all the info! I skimmed through it but will have to read it more carefully. I was especially interested in the diabetic info. I am also interested in the effect of carbs on mood. I do definetly feel like they are a drug in a way. Just like the rush you get after eating something sugary.

Dee when I first started at curves I was going three times a week. Then I added videos like Tae Bo on my off days. In the last few months I've switched from videos on my off days to cardio on an elliptical and weight lifting. I usually take one day off on the weekend. Curves tells you that you only need to exercise 3 days a week to lose weight but I feel that in my case I really need to do it just about everyday!

I was feeling down yesterday. My hubby was complaining about me not making enough money, how much he hates living in chicago and how much he dislikes my family. I started to feel really guilty thinking I was making him miserable. Then I noticed this thought in my mind that I don't deserve to be at a healthy weight. I was thinking I deserved to be fat and miserable my whole life. This was the first time I caught myself in this thought pattern but I imagine it's been going on for a good part of my life.

Heres my eggs for yesterday

we all deserve to be thinner and healthier... there seems to be so much of a mental boost.. to meeting the challenges of exercise and diet... I think it makes us a much stronger person... and much happier as well..

Val maybe your hubby is scared that u will get slim and trim and is feeling jealous or that other guys will be lookin too much?

you have done an amazing job.. and keep up the good work!!! you deserve it!!!

I'm taking those articles in today to one of my collegues. He's a Dean Ornish fan although he has trouble sticking to the plan. Maybe it will give him something to think about. His father died in his 50's of heart disease and he is worried he will follow in his father's footsteps.

Hiya PIC's,

OK, Got up, already did the gym today- entire circuit and 20 min treadmill. (I had to cut that short cuz one of the other trdmls is really really REALLY squeaky and I couldn't take it anylonger!!) I hope they get it fixed soon cuz it's really affecting my workouts.

I finally passed my Technician exam for the amature radio license. I was soooo embarassed. I had to take the test THREE times to pass it! (at $14. a pop it wasn't cheap).. I came home and took it 3 more times on line and aced it every time! grrrrrrrrr.... guess I folded under the pressure. It's been 30 years since I had that test-taking feeling in my gut! LOL. Anyways, I'll have my license soon. Lee is insisting (against my financial judgement) that I have a new radio for myself- even tho he has several just hanging around the house... I guess it's love, hehehehee.... Next week, I get my tapes to start learning morse code so I can upgrade.. Yay!!??!

Val, It's wonderful you are having a beautiful day! At least someone is . Lee emptied the rain guage just over 3 hours ago and it's already almost 1/2" full again.... Very out of the ordinary for this area in May! Oh well, I'm an ol' Seattleite! I know I won't melt hehehehe....

Petra~ Nice to see you back. WOW you got a lot of information! I went thru some of it so far. Very interesting stuff too. You are going to be so prepared to do your book lol. Hopefully I won't be needing it when it's published but I'll buy one anyways just cuz we're PIC-aroonies hehehe...

Val~ Wow I'm sorry Bing is feeling that way. It's probably temporary tho- like Curly said, he's just feeling a little insecure too. You DO deserve to be healthy Val!!! Healthy AND Happy. You have worked hard to be the You that You are today. Enjoy life. He will come around.
Thanks for the workout info, I was kind of trying to find out what a Curves Workout consists of lol... Was it just circuits? Did you set your own weights or were they the same for everyone? Stuff like that.... I agree with the thought of 3x per week not being enough. I love the cardio and could be happy just doing that 6xweek if I thought it would be enough- but I dont....Oh, Congrats on all those eggs!! Man I sure couldn't hang with you guys on that challenge lmao!!!!

Angel~ How's that housework goin' GF?? Turn up the tunes and you can get quite a workout in too hehehehe... Have a great visit with your friend!!!

Curly~ lmao @ 65lbs water! I wonder how long it takes to acutally drink that much? WTG with the egg thing too! You 3 sure have patience!

Gwena, Zoey, BF, Pic's in Hiding and missing PIC's~ Come back soon and let's hear how you're doing

Ciao for the moment Ladies.... Have a wonderful OP day!!!

Dee congrats on passing the test! That squeaky treadmill sounds annoying! I hope they fix it soon! Curves has a set weight on the machines. And to me they are actually quite easy compared to what I do at work out world. They want me to pay another $120 for the next three months and I'm tempted to not rejoin. And I know they want me to stay since they've been using me to get new members. It's just so expensive for what you get.
