Hi guys. I am on Day 13 - doing this solo (no centers in my area).

I had the courage to weigh yesterday and lost 4 lbs. I can't believe it - I've been struggling to lose for so long, and now, suddenly, it is happening! I've prayed, cried, prayed.....

I was about to go to the doctor and find out if there was something wrong with me. I remembered - you know, the MRC program worked AMAZINGLY well - maybe its the only REAL way for my body to do this.

For whatever reason, I am starting to believe that some of us are genetically geared differently, and this program hits those people and makes them successful. OR, could it be, my diet was all wrong?

Either way, I am so EXCITED. This is a major victory for me. After I lose 8 more lbs I have a special reward for myself!!!!!! I can't wait. I'm hoping to shed this 8lbs pronto so I can get my prize!

Have a great day! I am walking on air today.

There are numerous studies that you cannot target/spot reduce. It's all about overall weight loss. Abdominal exercise tightens and strengthens the muscle that is there, it does NOT reduce fat.

That said, in the last couple of months of loss, I went hard-core on abdominal work (pun intended). I really wanted there to be a strong/flat stomach under the fat. So, situps, planks, pushups, v-ups, tons of functional/balance training, side sit-ups, p90x, etc etc etc. My abs are so strong now that I can do a v-up holding a 35lb plate. But, you couldn't see them until I lost the layer of fat...which is all food.

So, good news/bad news!

Let me know if you want ab exercises - I am in <3 with them.
I would totally love the ab exercises. I was totally obsessed with that area, still am to an extent, but trying to be happy with what I have accomplished so far. Thanks so much!!!

Teacher Lady.. Congratulations to you and I am so happy for you.. You look fantastic.. Amazing what 50 pounds can do to a person

Junie.. Congrats to you also, 80 pounds, how wonderful is that.. I am close to my goal, and when I make it, I have thought of trying to take off 5 or so more. But we shall see.

If I have missed anyone, I am sorry. I have been out of town on and off this week relative business, and I don't always have access to get on this forum

Have a wonderful weekend.. I am on my Meta Quick per center thru Monday and weigh in Tuesday.

Okay ladies I started doing this one Tuesday after I went to the doctor and got the wonderful news that my sugar was up and I had to start using byetta. I weighted in at 278 pounds that morning. I'm doing this one on my own with the help of the Good Lord. Today I weighted in at 268. I can not wait until I can buy some clothes without the number 2 in them at all. I like the way everyone encourages each other. This has helped me a whole lot. I know I still have a very long way to go, but I'm in it for the long haul. Well anyway keep me in your prayers because I need all the prayer I can get and then some. Have a Blessed Day.

AH! Lunch problem!

We ended up staying at my mother-in-law's last night as hubby worked late and I hung out with him (we live an hour away from work....MIL lives 20 minutes away).

Problem is: now I'm at work with no lunch because I didn't plan ahead. And I rode with hubby...and he is at work and can't take me get anything! I do have HNS...but I can't just drink that all day. All we have at work is vending. I'm thinking there is a packge of animal crackers (plain, no frosting) that might be the best option. Oh no! Everything else is fried (chips, cheese curls, pork rinds, ew) or candy, or covered in chocolate.

Thanks, Patzi! I can't wait to see how I will look when I'm down another 12-15!

I'm rooting for you! You are so close! Good luck with the metaquick, and hopefully this does it for you this time!

That sucks! This happened to me once, and I've kept a box of meal replacement bars in my desk at all times. It has saved me more than a few times.

Yeah this is what I need to do. But for today, I had animal crackers and can't wait to eat something real for dinner. I'm sure it won't be too bad of a mishap.

Also, funny story. (Maybe TMI?) Hubby and I joke that sex is excercise. Gets your heart pumping and you get sweaty. When he saw my excercise ticker, he asked if I counted up our sex time in that! ha! Too funny! (FWIW, I don't. haha)

Hey everyone, haven't checked in for a few weeks. Happy to say I am down a totoal of 29.5. Yippee!
The center if having issues with having available product on hand to buy. They are almost out of everything. Is this normal? I've only been doing this for a couple of months and it just seems absurd.
Razorbackbritt-you are too funny. I say excercise counts any way you can get it.

Congrats to both Teacherlady and Junie for hitting those big milestones!

Debbi .. how about the outer thigh saddlebags? I am praying those areas are affected by the weight loss. When I hit the 30 lbs mark I noticed my boobs had shrunk .. an entire cup size (oh yes .. I'm was a DDD so my shoulders and back are much happier now).

WI today .. down 2.5 lbs. That makes a total of 6 lbs for the week. Amazing! The week before I was up a 1.5 lbs. I am a happy camper this week. Haven't seen that type of loss since the beginning of my MRC journey in November. Here's hoping it continues ...

I just want to say how thankful I am for this board and the amazing support of all the members. Weekends were usually my downfall. Like what I did on weekends didn't count or the calories didn't count. Now that I can stop by here on the weekends, it reminds me how important it is to stay OP if I want to reach my goals. So a great big THANK YOU to everyone!!!!

@razorback- we say the same thing lol!
@lisak- they say that the first place you gain is the last place you lose and vice versa. So, yeah, eventually they shrunk but I will always have hips and thighs! My bmi is now 20, but I'm still what I like to call "juicy" in the hips and thighs, I love it!

Alright, I think I have become a believer in corti-trim. I was so hesitant and resistant to go on it before, but now I"m glad I did.

I had a rough week--ate an entire box of peanut butter sandwich gs cookies (not in one sitting), snacked a lot on chocolate kisses, etc., and ate corn chips at a mexican restaurant on Thursday night. Between that, an extremely stressful week at work and with family issues (moved mom to assisted living) and my TOM, I figured I was screwed for this week's weigh in--I would definitely gain. NOPE! I lost 1.5lbs!

I have to say, I do attribute part of that to a couple of other things, too--I started mixing in interval training into my cardio routine, I ate raw veggies at least once every day, and I made a huge effort to drink extra water every day--but based on my past experience, I think I would have stayed the same or gained if it wasn't for the corti-trim.

Now I just imagine how much better my weigh in could have been if I hadn't been snacking all week, too! Definitely motivates me to move forward.

Hi I just joined MRC and I am on day 2.
I can't find melba toasts in my grocery.there are melba snacks, but they look more like small crackers.is there a online shop we can buy them. Also will someone let me know of a dcent website where I can purchase HNS.I am trying to avoid aspartame, and my center has only a few with splenda.
I felt hungry after lunch yesterday, but doing better today.I feel like I will really need those 4 hNS a day,but i am worried about the cost.
I was on a different diet(low carb) for about 3 months now,and initially i did lose 6 pounds, then I went on a long plateau, stayed at 191 the whole time .Then i decided its time to move on.Its very discouraging to see no progress when you put in so much efforts.i was really good even during the holidays.
Thats when i heard about this diet.and i thought ,maybe I need more than just a diet to lose weight.
i am considering corti-trim after a week or two,are there any known side effcets on this ?Thanks for all the help!
