Hey all!

I've been doing well staying on point this weekend but we went to the movies today and for the first time since I started on WW I ate some movie popcorn. YUMMY!!! But now I can't find the place where the points are listed for it. I'm estimating what I ate to be about 5pts, but I don't know for sure. Do any of you remember where I can find this info?

Thanks!!

Hi snowgal. (My brother used to live in Cordova - beautiful country up there!) Well, I'm not sure you want to read the following; or how reliable it is; but this is taken from About.com, Health and Fitness section.

"Are you headed to the movies this weekend? Convinced it’s going to cause diet downfall?

Though going to the movies is a dieting danger zone, you can get through it if you're prepared.

Be Afraid ... Be Very Afraid ...
Ready for some staggering stats? According to CalorieKing.com, a large tub of movie theater popcorn (20 cups) packs in 76 fat grams ... The equivalent of five full size Snickers bars ... or more than six McDonald's cheeseburgers.

As for counting calories, that same bucket of kernels holds about 1,100, shockingly close to most weight loss diet's caloric limit for the entire day (about 1,200 to 1,500)."

Don't worry, whatever the points were - it's done with. Hopefully you enjoyed it. Next time, bring some from home! I have a 7 yr old, and usually bring snacks for him in my bag - it's just too expensive!!

Good luck!

I read that 3 cups of UNBUTTERED movie theatre popcorn is 3pts, so I guess it all depends on what you got...but once in awhile, it's worth it to splurge. When we go, I pop my own mini bag of 94% FF and put 2 tsp. oil on it w/some salt....that way I get the greasy finger feeling when I'm eating it, and don't feel deprieved...and I always get a diet coke, I drink so much water, a pop now and again at the perfect time, hits the spot.

Hope this helps.

My day:
Subway and baked chips 9pts
Slim Fast Mint bar 3pts
FF hot dog, corn on cob, pickles 4pts
Apple w/pb 6pts (spent the day at the beach and didn't eat much, so I figured this would bulk up some pts and be a healthy snack)
WW fudge bar and popcorn 4pts
26/26

Thanks for the info! I gave myself 5pts for the popcorn. I think that sounds about right considering what I ate of the bag. I think I ate 1/4 and my husband finished off the rest. The rest of the day ended badly, though, as my mother-in-law came over and wanted to go out for Thai food. I didn't want to mention the whole WW diet thing to my mother-in-law (I'm her fattest daughter-in-law)so I went along and ate a little. Cashew chicken and white rice and 1/2 of 1 small fried thai roll. Definitely a carb filled day for me, with very few fruits and veggies. I haven't had a day like that since I started the whole WW experience.

Today is another day and I have weigh-in on Wednesday, so I had better eat really good for the next two days to at least not gain anything. I'm going for my Lifetime Membership now. I'm two weeks into it and so far, so good. Don't want to mess that up now. 4 more weeks to go! I was hoping to lose a little more this week, but now I'll be happy if I just didn't gain anything.

Happy Monday everyone!!! Lets all plan on having a good WW week!!

Hello Everyone:

I haven't posted since last week. Has been a very busy weekend. Was out at the pool all day Friday...had a good day food wise, but was so busy and had an appointment I didn't eat dinner. Went to bed tired, but not hungry. I couldn't really track past breakfast, so I just had a salad with chix for lunch and a Luna bar for snack. I know I didn't reach my 24 points that day.

Was very good at the cook out until the goodies came out and I have a few small bites of a cake, pie and something else. But I only ate some fruits and crackers and cheese and some homemade potato salad. I didn't eat dinner that night because I was more or less grazing during the cookout, but not heavily. I drank lots of water that day.

Sunday I was not feeling well. Had a really bad headache. I don't know if maybe I didn't eat enough the other two day. But last night for dinner I had my husband get a couple of the "bar room" type pizzas, they are small. I ate about half a one. So that is probably quite a few points.

But success today. I have a weight loss of 1.4 lbs today for my weigh in. So I am happy. It is tough to track points when I'm out all day going here and there. But I'm going to pack a lunch tomorrow so that I know what I'm eating for the day. Tonight I'm out to dinner with my DH. So I'll have to be really careful. I think I have some water weight still on from the pizzas.

I walked 2 miles today in 37 min. It is very hot here and tomorrow, so I was in the water swimming today also. Just relaxing really.

Well I'm off for now. I will check in tomorrow.

Oh my goodness. I did not post all flippin weekend. Two reasons for this. 1-I wa crazy busy and 2-I did not stay on program. I did not go off the deep end by any means, but I will be happy to maintain this week. I am kind of munchy. I need to look at the calendar because I have a rotten sweet tooth. TOM??? Sad to say I don't think it is even near. Anyway, I have nothing good to post. I weigh in tomorrow night. I will try to post my points all day tomorrow. Will give you a WI update tomorrow night. Have a good one! --Amy

I wanted to share yet another recipe for muffins I made, and they are awesome!
1 box Fat Free Krusteze Blueberry Muffins
2 1/2 c. water
3 c. all bran cereal

Preheat oven 350*
Mix water and cereal, let sit 5 minutes. Mix blueberry muffin mix into cereal/water mix, it will be very thick.
The recipe says this will make 24 muffins, I got 22 out of it...each one totaling 1 pt.
Let me know what you think!
A side note to the recipe says you can add some more blueberries, which I will do next time, prob. won't alter pts. much.
There are different variations of this too, apple cinnamon w/chopped apples, banana w/bananas.
Enjoy!
