wallace, panda waving hi!!!

sum, kay, and morningglory nice drops!!

clarita it sucks when the scale goes in the wrong direction for no reason, and its easier said than done, but I wouldn't worry about it at all!! Its totally water like you say. There are a few times in my cycle where the scale goes crazy

bookworm That is totally awesome that you enjoy exercise so much, that will definitely be a huge help!! I very recently switched away from calorie counting, but when I was I also was trying for 1400-1600!

ophelia Hopefully you will start seeing a difference with cycling!

momtopands I am sorry to hear about your recent health issues. Its nice that the doctor is giving you a few months to continue on to see if that helps, I really think it will. And, awesome job learning all you can about what you should be eating. You have done so well, I have no doubt you will have success turning it around. I had to give myself blood thinner shots in my stomach for about a year and maaaan, it was hard giving them to myself, especially at first, so even though you are a nurse it doesn't surprise me that you didn't want to poke yourself!

I switched to WW so will be tracking in points from now on. I hope it works as well as it has in the past! And now I have the tools to maintain the loss

I had a major whoosh. I had been plateaued for almost a week despite being on plan and exercising. This seems to be the way I lose - plateau then a loss about once a week.

ophelia: I think you are due for a whoosh soon

kfunk: nice drop!

bookworm: Welcome to TFC and welcome to all those returning to TFC.

sum, kay and morningglory - nice drops

momtopands: I think it is a good thing that the doctor is giving you a few months to try and manage your diabetes without the need for medication. Hopefully that will do the trick. Sorry to hear that you're having to check your sugar levels everyday. It's nice that you daughter can help you with this.

clarita: it's frustrating when you are doing everything to stay on plan and you see a bump up for no reason. Your persistence will pay off and you will probably have a whoosh soon

kfunk and flower thanks for the hugs and support with my diagnoses. It is disappointing but at the same time i've been improving my health since January so I have a chance to turn things around. I will do it!

flower Nice loss after staying the same for so long. I have noticed that I have periods of staying the same and then having a whoosh!

kfunk Nice drop and good luck with WW. It has always worked for me in the past so i'm sure you will be successful!

SantaClaritaDiet You will see progress, just don't quit! You're doing so well with exercising!

KayG: Nice loss!

momtopands: I hope you're able to get everything back in order so that you fall below the diabetic range again and that you won't have to start the meds and continue the needle pricks. I'll bet you can get that diagnosis turned around in no time. Keep us updated on how that all goes!

Sum38, PandaCupcake, & MorningGlory1950: Welcome to the thread!

SantaClaritaDiet: TOM showing up explains it! Hope you're able to get some more comforting numbers on the scale once the TOM bloat dies down a little.

kfunk: We shall see! I think going back to my normal IF window will help, too...all I know is that something is up, so I'm hoping that combo will break this stall/gain pattern this week. Fingers crossed it comes back down before the DietBet ends! And, good luck with the WW!! Keep us posted on how that goes.

flower1: I hope so! And, congrats on your whoosh!

---------------------------------

I didn't weigh-in yesterday due to having company and our schedule being off, so I ate before I could do all that. Today, weigh-in was up even more to 193.6, so this week isn't really looking too good so far. So, in addition to going back to more normal range of calories and just cycling in higher days, I'm also going back to my normal IF window. Eating two hours earlier in the day without being able to go to bed much earlier in the evening didn't work out for me -- AT ALL. It was just two more hours of snacking temptations, which I have struggled with for the last couple weeks. So, back to my 1-9pm window. The first of my two February DietBets ends on Wednesday, and now I have more ground to cover to win...so, I'll be watching all of my P's and Q's to try to make sure I win this one! No extra snacks late at night, workouts every day, and MAKING SURE to get in all of my water -- not just saying that I'll "do my best" with it. Yesterday was both low on water AND high on sodium, so I'm hoping that this latest bump is just water retention I can flush right back out. Drinking nothing BUT water today to make sure I get in my gallon to see if that helps any.

Nothing happening on the scales for me, but I've kept to my rules (apart from a planned few drinks on Friday). Definitely following the same plateau-whoosh pattern as flower and others (so it's time for my whoosh now, please! )

Ophelia good for you at being so determined to get your dietbet targets. Good motivation!

ophelia: I love your positive attitude. I know it can be hard to keep it up, especially after a few days of bad weigh-ins. But you're paying attention and doing what you need to do to make it better, and that's what is most important. There were probably days (months? years?) where you didn't pay so much attention, right? I mean that's probably why we're all here. You're making a ton of progress and I bet that you'll have it in gear for your Dietbet. Look how far you've come!

momtopands: I am sorry to hear about your hard news. My husband used to be pre-diabetic. After we started dating and I supported him with it (his Mt. Dew habit, in particular...) it went away. Making those dietary changes REALLY does make a difference. I've seen it! I would take his blood sugar (and we still check it occasionally) and it went way down after just a couple of months of really making positive changes. You can do it!

kfunk: Congrats on your achievements! I did WW online years and years ago. (I'm WAY too shy and uncomfortable about going to a group. That will simply never happen.) What made you want to go back to it? Do you go to a group or do it online? I'm just curious; I didn't stop because I disliked it, I just kinda fell away from it, I guess.

flower: You are so supportive of everyone. Keep up the good work on your loss!

clarita: Oh man, can I relate. It seems like every time I start to make progress, my dumb period shows up and wants to just trash everything. In a few days it will be over. It usually takes me a week to drop all the water I hold, even if I drink tons and tons.

Congrats to so many on your losses!

I realize that my weigh-in numbers probably look like they would be disappointing (returning to Friday's weight). But honestly, I am thrilled about it. Historically, weekends have been absolutely DEVASTATING for me, setting me back 1-2 weeks at a time. This is the first weekend, in.. gosh, I do not even KNOW how long, that I have broke even!!! I am SO excited about this! It means that for ONCE, I will make ACTUAL progress this week! I am so thrilled about it! I owe some of the thanks to you guys, because it occurred to me quite a few times over the weekend that I would be reporting back to you. So THANKS!

Positives: I avoided McDonalds (huge trigger for me, lol), birthday cupcakes at my nephew's bday party, and I worked out an extra day, plus I stuck to my workout plan. I am sore and feel pretty good!

Goals for this week: I'd LOVE to get to 172. Lots of H20 - gallon plus workout water! My daily walks at work that are 1-2 miles in addition to my workouts, and I'd like to do yoga at least once this week.

momtopands - You can do it! Just keeping working at it, and you'll be back in the right weight range.

kfunk - Nice little drop! Keep up the good work

ophelia - I'm sorry that you're up there a little bit in your weight. It sounds like you know what you need to do to turn it around, though. You can do it! I believe in you.

ange - I hope you get your whoosh, too!

ironlovehandles - WELCOME!

adorablebookworm - Thanks - I'm glad for your support!

Hiya, everyone! I had a good weekend, experiences-wise. My DH and I took the commuter train into downtown Los Angeles on Saturday to have lunch and get a little shopping done. It was fun! And a good reminder that we don't always have to stay in our suburb, as we've been doing.

Eating-wise, my weekend kind of blew. I really need to crack down on myself like ophelia is doing, because I just can't allow myself to keep delaying my weight loss by making the lazy choice in the kitchen and eating out. I'm very frustrated with myself.
