  • flower you're welcome! I haven't looked too hard at what they offer, but that would be cool if they had 2% challenges for you!

ophelia nice job on hitting your steps yesterday!!

momtopands I had a small bump up too, hopefully tomorrow will be a good weigh in for us!

joe Great job at the buffet, that is huge

ange I hope that you are able to make it through your travels without too much temptation.

    sum nice drop!!

vhd welcome!! Finishing law school is quite the accomplishment!! It is awesome that you are starting now to allow yourself time before you start your new job in September! I just started WW a week or so ago. Have you ever seen the Ole Mexico tortillas? I bought them at Target and they have 1 WW point and 5 net carbs. They are pretty good!

adorablebookworm nice drop!! That is a good idea to start in May!! I don't think that we have that fancy of a bed where I am at, it sounds really cool though!! I had 5 or so treatments on my underarms but I quit going so I still have a little hair, but its much better than it was before. Did you finish out the treatments and if so, has the hair grown back? Good for you on passing on the cream!

I did 45 minutes on a treadmill yesterday at the gym and today I think I will try the same amount of time on an elliptical or something similar. After we work out we will take the kids swimming. Its spring break so they can stay up later so that definitely helps!

  • Welcome vdh2102!

Ophelia, look at it this way, since it's come early once done you'll have almost 2 weeks free of it to get to your monthly goal!

yangtzer, great job and not overeating at the buffet. That is a great NSV!

Seems like i'm starting the hang out at the same weight for a few days again, lol. I didn't eat enough yesterday, only 1000 calories. After working I wasn't able to sleep adequately and it threw off my daily intake. By dinner I had only eaten 540 calories and didn't think I needed to add more food just to get higher. I didn't sleep enough last night either, had to get up at an ungodly time of morning(how do you day shift workers do it?) for a work meeting. Anyway, i'm back on track today. Hope to see some movement in the next day or two.

    vdh2102: Welcome to the thread!

AdorableBookworm: I have pretty intense social anxiety, so it's been a challenge in that respect, but it has been easier than I thought it would be in general because he's pretty laid-back and friendly, so that helps. In similar situations, I feel the pressure to always be "on" for entertaining company -- trying to be charming, funny, and pleasantly talkative (not too much, not too little) whenever possible -- and that is a drain for an awkward little hermit like me unless we're really close, lol. We've mostly just been watching a lot of movies and talking about weightlifting, since he's kind of a gym rat and I'm wanting to start lifting in the next month or two. So, it worked out! He's able to stay here while he gets everything sorted out, and I'm pushed out of my comfort zone a little to be social with a stranger and am learning new things.

kfunk: Thank you, and have fun swimming today! That'll be both fun and a great addition to your original workout! I can't wait until the pools open here, since we didn't really get to go last summer with the move taking up most of the kids' vacation time last year. The indoor one at the gym here on post is almost always closed for training or has weird hours, since the Soldiers use it for PT...and, there is one indoor place in town, but you have to pay per person to go, so we haven't tried it yet. The outdoor one close to our house doesn't open until the end of May though, so we may end up trying out the one in town early if we get too impatient...lol.

momtopands: That is true! I will just look at it that way and be happy about it instead... And, I hope you got some more sleep last night or will tonight, if not! That affects my scale just as much as water does, it seems.

    ---------------------------------

Catching up for yesterday and today!

Weigh-in yoyo'ed back up to 191.4 yesterday then was down to 190.8 today. TOM is still going, so I'm glad it moved down a little. I didn't get in a workout on Sunday because we got wrapped up in a movie with our guest -- (I will call him Mr. H from now on...I feel like I'm overusing the word "guest" lately, lol) -- however, the kids started their Spring break yesterday, which means they are home from school all week this week, so I'll be able to take advantage of having our oldest here to hang out with our toddler so I can get my workouts out of the way early in the day all week while our evenings are busy. I was able to get in a 5 mile walk yesterday -- and hit my 10k step minimum before lunch, even! -- so, as far as the workouts go, I should be covered and not have to worry about having time to do it until next week.

As for food, I've remained on plan and incorporated my first 5:2 IF rotation in addition to my usual 16:8 IF plan yesterday. I tried it for that one day before my last DietBet ended and was surprised to find it wasn't that hard to stick to (we'll see if that remains to be true doing it more often, lol)...and, it made me curious to see if I could do it two days a week, like the plan requires. Most people seem to do their "fasting days" -- (in the 5:2 plan, you don't do a full fast, just a restricted fast of 500-600 cals on two days and then normal days for the remaining 5 days of the week) -- on Mondays and Thursdays, so I figured yesterday would be a good day to try it out as an actual routine. I went over my mark by about 150 calories due to giving into a movie snack since we stayed up late, but I still did okay and didn't feel ravenous all day like you'd expect. I will see if I can do better in the snack department come my next "fasting" day on Thursday. I'll let you guys know how this goes! And, for the first time in awhile, I got in my full gallon of water yesterday, so I think it was a nice break for my body to have time to digest everything completely and rehydrate.

  • ophelia The kids have so much fun swimming and its a nice thing to do as a family. My kids are on spring break this week so we have been going and staying past their normal bedtime, I am hoping we can figure out a schedule to keep going once they are back in school. That is awesome that you have help with your little guy so you can get your workouts out of the way in the AM. I feel like that really sets a good tone for the rest of the day! I wonder why they wait so late to open up the outdoor pool, you would think that they would do it sooner with the warmer weather in AZ. Nice drop during your TOM! I hope that the 5:2 goes well for you! Have you joined a new diet bet? I just chose one this morning that started yesterday, its another 4% one and there are a decent amount of people in it. I might double up and do the next fatgirlfedup one that starts in a few days.

momtopands and couch I hope you guys get your whoosh very soon!

I never learn and it is so frustrating. I am not sure why I can't take a night off and eat like a normal person, but instead go balls to the walls..

Sum38: You're doing great this week!

kfunk: You would think so! They open late May and close the first week of September...it doesn't make any sense, because it's swimmable weather here from March (some days even in February) to almost December! There is only a couple months where it gets too cold. And, I'm still finishing up my second DietBet from last month, but it ends on the 18th -- since that's the day before the next FatGirlFedUp one starts, it will be perfect timing to start that one, so I'll be joining that one, too! Depending on how the rest of this month goes, I may do a second one again with hers...my main host, Jordan, is doing her next one starting on April 1st, so that seems like good timing, as well.

    Slimmer Me: Almost there!

    ---------------------------------

Today's weigh-in was 190.4, which means I lost 2.4 lbs for Week Two....after most of February being slow and Week One of March showing no loss at all, it's nice to have a normal loss for the week -- especially since I've been on TOM. So, as you can imagine, I'm happy as a clam to see some decent progress again! I was able to get in another 5 miles yesterday, and got in about 3 liters of water...not the full gallon, but still a lot better than I had been doing before this week, so I'm happy with that, as well. We had a pizza night last night, but I stayed on plan by just having one of the cheesy breadsticks that came with it with some zucchini spaghetti leftovers from the other night. It was still super delicious and much fewer calories than if I'd gotten pizza for me, as well.

Hope everyone is having a good day today!

I used to get so defeated when this happened...doing everything right, eating OP and a HUGE jump overnight and there should be no reason for it, right? I didn't even eat anything enjoyable yesterday. Boo! Well darn; ovulation time, scale jumped nearly 3 pounds. Us women, we are already dispositioned gaining weight, who needs hormonal weight gain on top of everything else . Sounds like a really, really cruel joke by mother nature. Don't know whether to laugh or cry
