I fell short of my goal for the first time (during a month while actively trying) last month, so I'm going to try for that same goal of 10 lbs again for March to see if I can still do it. If I fall short again this month, I may adjust to a new goal for April. But, for now, I'm going to try my best, and I am wishing everyone the best of luck this month!

Good morning!! Thank you gardenerjoy for the new thread!

Its nice to see so many familiar faces and new members as well!! I got way behind last month and then stopped posting all together. I am going to adjust my goal because they have not been attainable for me. I will set this months goal for 6 lbs.

Ophelia I am going to post my weights every day again, do you mind if I use your template? Also, we have about 1 week left in the diet bet!! How is it going for you? I am pretty sure that I will make it, but need to go to the website and read about the final weigh in rules to make sure I don't mess it up somehow!

kfunk - That's a good idea, adjusting your goal down. You can still beat it by a pound or two and it'll feel so much better than not making it!

Hello everyone,

I am so shy that I do not even feel comfortable posting in a forum. But it seems like everyone here is pretty nice, and I need to have some kind of accountability.

After growing up on unhealthy yo-yo diets, I was in pretty good shape for a while. Then I went through a divorce and remarried, and my weight ballooned up like crazy; I kept telling myself it was temporary but now it has been three years. It doesn't feel temporary anymore. It's like a nightmare. I used to literally wake up from nightmares where I had gained all the weight back. Well... now it's a reality.

I am miserable and so hard on myself. I refuse to buy new clothes and I can wear hardly anything that I own. I need to lose a lot of weight, and sometimes I feel like I am just completely incapable. I'm so disappointed in myself, and for the last year or so I've had a lot of failure in trying to retrain myself with good habits.

I've never joined a forum before, so I don't know all the posting etiquette. But I'd like to make a goal that I have to talk about and be a little uncomfortable with - I think the accountability might help.

I'd like to lose about 10lbs this month. I have lost more than that before (without resorting to unhealthy habits) so I think it's possible. I think. I like multiples of 5 so I'm going to put just a little more.

If I lost this weight I would feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I've been "stuck" in the 170s for a long time.

kfunk: Of course...feel free to use it anytime! And, I have 1 lb exactly left in the DietBet, so I should be able to make it, as well. I'm hoping I will break through this standstill and down before our time is up. Fingers crossed for us both!


AdorableBookworm: Welcome to 3FC!!! Many of us, including myself, have been exactly where you are mentally...especially when first starting. I think you'll fit right in, and there will be no need to be shy after long, because I agree that just about everyone is super sweet here! I hope you're able to find the sense of accountability that many of us appreciate by posting here, and good luck this month! We'll all be rooting for you.

Holding steady at 192.8 yet again...third day in a row now. Better than a gain, but still frustrating! Hoping to see a loss or even a whoosh soon. I did a 5.5 milk walk last night, but I was really low on water overall, so going to try to balance that back out today. I only got in about a liter yesterday, which is better than nothing, but not very good. I've also been keeping at the high end of my cal range. If I don't see some downward movement in the next couple of days, I may pull back a little and just cycle higher days in instead and see if that does the trick!
