kfunk: Thank you! And, so far, I've either eaten what I normally eat for breakfast (egg, cheese, and veggie bacon on toasted flatbread with some frozen fruit on the side) at dinner time or will just have a controlled portion of whatever we're all having for dinner that night. I have found that it's easier for me to just not eat anything until dinnertime so I can have a larger meal in the evening than to eat tiny meals throughout the day. I feel more satiated that way. Some people will have a normal day, just pared down considerably in the calories -- i.e. a light breakfast of scrambled egg whites with a piece of fruit or some veggies, maybe some coffee, then something like a rice cake, an apple, or cheese around lunch time, then a small dinner of a lean protein with steamed veggies on the side. Most people don't seem to snack on Fast Days that I have seen since reading up on other peoples' experiences, because it is easy to nickel-and-dime your calories away that way. I just focus on lots of water, maybe some tea or coffee, until dinner time and then have a pretty normal dinner...maybe a snack before bedtime if I have enough calories left over. Yesterday was only my third official 5:2 fasting day, so I will let you know if I change anything around and what happens if I do! Nice losses, by the way!

momtopands: Thank you...and, great job getting back down!

Slimmer Me: Glad you're seeing some movement downward!

---------------------------------

Today's weigh-in was 188.8. As I said I was going to, I took yesterday as a rest day -- partially because it was a fast day (I usually still exercise), but mainly because it was my husband's last night at home before two weeks out in the field for training. So, I just stayed home and hung out with him. I was able to stay within my calorie range for my "fast", and I also got in my full gallon of water, so it was a good day all around. Definitely getting back to the workouts today.

Hovering in target-zone for the month, so i'm really happy about that, but with a big weekend (starting Thursday) coming up, i'm not too confident of improving on this by the end of the month! I'm still sticking to my eating plan, it's all still straightforward (so far), and i'm on trendline for where my graph expects me to be, so nothing much to report really!
Sounds like everyone else is doing well too - keep going gang!

momtopands Thank you! I am glad that you are feeling better! Nice drop!!

slimmerme Great job!!

ophelia Thank you for sharing that with me! Your breakfast sounds delicious!! I agree with wanting to eat 1 meal vs. little portions throughout the day. I like the feeling of being full, but not uncomfortably so. Have you been pretty hungry waiting for dinner time, or has your body adjusted? Thank you, nice drop yourself!!

ange Congrats on making your goal so early!! You had a great month! I hope this weekend goes well for you!

vickie you are doing great!!

I am almost back down to where I was last week. Sheesh, it only takes 1 day of poor eating to cause a 3 lb. gain, but takes days of being on plan to get it off. Totally not worth it!

thanks scales! Another 1lb gone.
It's just another 1lb, but brings up my weight lost this year to over 10kg for the first time!! I started on Jan 5th, so must have taken around 12 weeks to do. Really happy, but also keen to lose the rest and get to my mid-normal BMI target....

kfunk wow, that's a long recovery time for just one day off. Well done for getting on with it though.

ange82much: Good job being right on target, congrats on another great loss, and I hope your upcoming weekend goes smoothly!

momtopands: Glad you were able to keep your loss to close out the week, and good luck with your upcoming TOM!

kfunk: The fast days actually haven't been bad! As long as I stay busy, it's actually pretty easy. On my last one, though, I decided to have some coffee for breakfast, and I feel like that "activated" my stomach's desire to eat, if that makes sense, and I was a little hungrier on that day and more than ready for dinner come dinnertime...definitely skipping that from now on!

AmazonNM: Great work!

---------------------------------

Sorry I'm checking in late...had a bit of an fiasco this afternoon. And, sorry in advance for the big post! Skip ahead to the very end for the normal update, if you want to skip it. I wouldn't blame you...lol.

I don't know how many of you remember me mentioning my increasing bouts of lightheadedness, and I was thinking it might be a potassium issue with a medication I'm on, so I got new blood labs drawn just yesterday to get that all checked out. Well, today - while out at a busy grocery store, no less - I was standing at the register, about to check out, and started to have some wooziness and nausea, so I leaned on the counter. Within about a minute or so, the room started to get a little dim and I heard someone behind me in line ask "Hey, are you okay?" And, I had just enough time to say that I was feeling a little dizzy, like I had low blood sugar, and the next thing I remember is opening my eyes and seeing blood dripping from my forehead onto the floor and hearing that voice telling someone they needed to call a doctor. I had totally blacked out! For the first time in my life. In public. With my 3 year old in the cart in front of me, who saw everything and kept asking if I was okay. I felt so embarrassed and honestly a bit scared, because I've never passed out before and did not like the feeling of having no control in a building full of strangers with my child alone with just me.

Thankfully, the older couple who was behind me in line helped me over to a bench about 10 feet away (they said I passed out again on the way over) and sat with me until they knew I was okay. I was thankful to have them there, even though they were complete strangers...they took time out of their afternoon to help me, kept talking to my son to keep him preoccupied and calm while I filled out an incident report for the store, and they were very kind. Some workers got me water and damp towels (the bleeding was just a 1 inch laceration on my brow bone, where I hit my head on the card reader shelf on the way down -- head wounds always bleed much more dramatically than really are, it seems)...I was able to eat something and take some of that water and actually felt well enough to drive home in about 10 minutes or so. I notified my doctor of what had happened once I got home, and they will be going over my fasting labs with me tomorrow afternoon. They had me go to the ER in town (our post clinic is too small for urgent care services) just to have the cut looked at and get checked over before my consultation with my actual doctor tomorrow, and everything seemed fine, and I didn't need stitches. They did some quick labs, even though I'd eaten already, and they said everything was fine there too, even the potassium, and that I may need to speak to a neurologist next to find out what caused it. Hoping to get some more in-depth answers tomorrow with the fasted labs from my main doctor...wish me luck!

As for my normal check-in, my weigh in was 187.4 today, so down 3 lbs for the week. So, I'm happy about that at least! Needless to say, not doing any workouts tonight.

ange Congrats on losing another lb!!! It was actually 2 cheat days last week. I was 166 on Tuesday morning and pigged out that night, Friday morning I was back to 168.8 and then pigged out again! That put me up to 169.8 and its taken until Thursday to get back to the 166, but I am finally here!!!

amazon welcome!!!

ophelia I was going to ask you if you drink coffee before dinner on fast days!! Its nice to see trends like that so you know to avoid coffee in the future! I am so sorry about what happened to you at Target, that must have been so scary. That was so nice of that couple to stay with you and help entertain your son. I am glad that your labs came back normal, but please keep us updated on what the neurologist says. I am glad that you are okay now. I get very lightheaded/dizzy at times after I stand up, but its not the normal blood rush that you get from getting up too fast. I have some very odd symptoms that go along with it and have fallen, but luckily never have hit my head like you did. My normal blood work is all normal too, bizarre!
I hope that you don't have another episode like yesterday and that you get some answers. Nice loss this week!!

kfunk Congratulations! I know you're over the moon about getting back down. You're now on track to keep moving downward! Great job!

ange82much You are doing so great! Congrats on making and surpassing your goal for this month! Keep it up!

ophelia I'm so sorry you had such a difficult day. I hope your doctor has some idea of what's going on so that you won't have to repeat the dizziness and certainly not the passing out! However, great job on you loss for the week! I'll be praying for you!

AmazonNM welcome!

I had a nice drop to start the week! I ate more yesterday than I have in a while. It seems that my losing slows down when I don't eat enough food. When I eat closer to my target calories I seem to do better. I'm going to keep doing what i'm doing and keep seen the drops!

kfunk: Yes, they were absolutely amazing to have helped us in such a weird situation -- I was thankful they were behind me in line yesterday! And, I'm not sure if I'll have to see a neurologist yet, hoping that the blood work has some answers...will keep you guys updated! And, that's odd that you have had similar things with normal bloodwork, as well. Do you take any medications? I'm wondering if my blood pressure medication that I was put on after I had our youngest way back in 2014 needs to be changed. I'd love the be able to get off of it completely one day, so maybe I'm heading in that direction. Just hoping it's something simple to fix like that and nothing worrisome. And, nice loss for you, as well!

PandaCupcake: Nice whoosh!

momtopands: Thank you, all around! And, keep us posted on how eating around target works out...nice loss!

Slimmer Me: Keep up the good work!

---------------------------------

Weigh-in was up a bit to 187.8 today...which is a little odd, because I didn't eat much yesterday with everything that happened. I ended up having some higher calorie potato salad in the evening, just to get my calories up to and a few past the 1,000 cal mark. It was pretty high in sodium though and eaten really late in the evening, so maybe that's what did it. Today is supposed to be one of my 5:2 "fasting" days, but I'm going to move it to tomorrow, since yesterday was so crazy, so my appetite is higher today and I'd rather be safe than sorry so soon after the black out.

Speaking of which, I haven't yet had my meeting with my doctor this afternoon to discuss the labs and that whole incident, but will be doing that here shortly during a scheduled phone call. I'll see what he says or find out what the follow-up will be and let you guys know at my next update. Thanks for being a place/group of people where I can talk about other worries than just the weight loss here...it's nice to have other ears (or eyes, rather), especially when my husband is away on training right now and I don't currently live near any family or friends!
