welcome ironlovehandles!

AdroableBookworm Thank you so much for letting me know your real life experience. I feel like I don't have anyone to really ask about how this has affected them so it's nice to hear about an actual person that turned things around. Thanks for your support and story.

kfunk Thanks for the pat on the back about my attitude! It is very hard to stay positive, having been negative for so long, but I am convinced that it is the better way to live so i'm doing all I can to maintain it. Congrats on your steady trend down, keep it up!

Ophelia Thanks for the hug and kind words. I'm still impressed that you always make changes right away to stay on track! I know you'll see results!

SantaClaritaDiet Thanks for the encouraging words. I know about that temptation to just eat out and forget the kitchen but you can master that! Don't give guilt and of your energy, yesterday is over but today is here and tomorrow will be better! You can make the choices that you want for your health and succeed!

This past weekend was difficult with checking blood pressures and blood sugars often. Plus I had a terrible headache since Friday that got worse Saturday and eased a bit on Sunday. The good news is my blood sugars were all good except for one(not a surprise that I can't eat hard candy, even if sugar free, and I didn't even like it!). Blood pressures not so much, very high on Saturday, though not surprising with the stress I was feeling from the diabetes diagnosis. I still continued my eating plan and exercise though so i'm maintaining the loss from yesterday. Glad it seems that the things i've been eating are the right things to maintain good blood sugars. This will be easier than I thought! Thank you all for the support, you don't know how much it has been appreciated.

momtopands: My pleasure. If you need help or advice with something specific relating to fixing a diet for diabetes, feel free to ask. I'm obviously not a doctor, but I have some experience with it and I've done loads of research.

Also, I love all these cute emojis.

ange82much: Good job sticking to your plan...hope you get a whoosh soon!

ironlovehandles: Welcome!

AdorableBookworm: There were definitely months and even years where I didn't pay attention at all...so, I'm thankful that I have the perspective now to make adjustments where and whenever necessary before it gets too out of hand. Posting in threads like these with everyone here supporting each other has been the biggest game-changer on being able to stay accountable and do that now. I'm happy to see that you're already making those same changes too and seeing how differently you approach some of the biggest triggers, like weekends. So, I'm glad we all found this place!

kfunk: I'm going to see how much progress I can make by the 7th, just in case. That being said, I will utilize the 8th if I have to... What about you? If I remember correctly, it looks like you have already hit or surpassed the goal! I hope so, because this anxiety is becoming real on my end still being a pound away...hahah.

SantaClaritaDiet: Thank you!! Also, I noticed you added your IG info to your sig...I just added you! I am @projectcasey on there.

momtopands: Thank you for words of support, as well...I'm hoping you're right. And, I'm glad your sugars have been on point, other than that one time. You're doing a great job with everything!

KayG: Thank you, and awesome losses -- good work!!

flower1: Enjoy your walk!

Weigh-in was 192.8 again today...so, I'm back down to where I was at the end of February, but still not down to or below where I was last Monday. Here's hoping this move back down continues from here on out through the week. I'm getting nervous about winning this latest DietBet, so doing everything I can to help ensure I can get a loss in by Wednesday!

So, will be starting blood pressure meds today. Blood sugars still good. Scale still the same so I have no complaints considering all the stress i've been under. I'm looking for a whoosh soon.

KayG: Thanks for the support! Keep up the good work with your steady loss.

momtopands: Good luck with the meds. I hope they help you feel a bit better.

VickieLou: Congrats on your loss!

ophelia: I know how frustrating it is to keep meandering around the same weight. The bulk of my commentary will be about that today.

flower: Thanks! I'm trying to stay positive about the lifestyle changes. They have to start paying off soon... right?

iron: Good luck on your goal this month. We are in a similar place; I'm just a few pounds up from you. I'll be checking on your progress!

I am so depressed today. My weigh in was almost a pound up. I didn't eat enough yesterday to deserve this, and I drank plenty of water. I don't know why it went up. I know it's not the biggest thing in the world, but I have lost these five pounds LITERALLY about 20-30 times, and I am SO SICK of it. I am really trying, but it went up anyway. I am so sick of this.

I know I need to keep a positive attitude, but it's so hard to when I feel like there is literally nothing else I can do and my body still just wants me to weigh more. It feels so unfair.

The only possible thing I can think of is that I'm really sore. I boxed really hard the other day and my whole body is sore from it. Have any of you ever held water weight from being sore? I don't know if that's a thing.

I'm just really bummed out today. I feel so hopeless on days like today. How can I keep pulling myself out of this? I have been reassuring myself that I can be successful thousands of times, and I just feel like no matter how much I try to make myself feel like it's possible, I'm just failing.

Sorry to be so negative today. I am just so frustrated. Even if it's just water, it won't come off as fast as it went on, and it's weight that I have to lose. Again.

March 5: 176.4 ((+0.8)) Why did it go up so much?!

adorablebookworm I am like you and prefer WW online! I am not sure why I decided to go back to it, I think I wanted to change things up to see if I could drop the last 30 lbs. I have a couple friends that just started it. I am not sure why I strayed from the program in the past, but it has worked well for me so hopefully this time is no different!! It sounds like you had a fantastic weekend!! I can do so well during the workweek but the weekends are a big downfall for me. I started doing a weekend thread, you should join us next weekend! So congrats, I know what a huge achievement it is getting a good one under your belt! I wouldn't worry about the scale at all, it is kind of the downfall of weighing in every day. The slightest fluctuation can make it go crazy. Keep doing what you are doing and you will be just fine!! And YES sore muscles can make the scale go WAY up!! Its very frustrating, but it may even take a whole week to move, but it will I promise!

clarita I am sorry you are feeling frustrated, it is especially hard when your TOM is around. Be kind to yourself, you've got this!! I need to take some time to set up a weekly menu and then shop for what I need, maybe something like that would work for you?

momtopands Great job this weekend!! That is awesome that your blood sugars have been good! I hope that the meds help your BP stabilize soon. I also hope that your headaches are completely gone by now, they suck!

kay You are making great progress!! You are so right, the whooshes feel that much better when the scale is misbehaving!

flower I hope that you had a nice walk!!

ophelia It is nice that we have an extra day built in to weigh in! I hope that the scale cooperates for you!! 169 was my goal, so unless something goes wrong with water weight I should be good. I need to browse to see what my next one will be!

vickielou nice loss!!

Kay - AMAZING LOSSES! Wow.

VickieLou - Great loss. Keep up the good work!

kfunk - Good advice! I need to go back to doing that.

AdorableBookworm - I'm sorry that you're feeling so down about your weight having gone up a pound. I know how much that can sting, firsthand. Your soreness may indicate that you have microtears in your muscles from your tough boxing workout. That would mean that you would retain fluid so that your muscles can repair themselves. My weight often goes up by a pound or more after I do weight lifting workouts which leave me sore. Also consider that there's no way that you could gain a pound in fat overnight. You'd theoretically have to eat 3,500 more calories over your TDEE in order to do that. I don't know if any of this is making you feel better, but that's the intention!

kfunk: Thank you so much for your reassurance. It really means a lot to me. You've made me feel so much better. Thank you. You are right. I have to be patient. I will keep doing what's right, and make sure I stick to everything I have laid out, despite this setback.

I'll try to remember to look for your weekend thread. That sounds like a really good idea!

clarita: Thank you so much for your support. I really appreciate it. Not that I want anyone else's weight to go up, but it's nice to hear anecdotal evidence regarding workouts. I did also lift weights and I am sore from that, too. I guess that's probably what it is. I still don't like seeing it go up.

I know it can't possibly be fat, but it doesn't seem fair that it goes on so fast and takes so long to go away!

Default A little late in the month...

Years ago this site was many of the tools to my success of a 50lb weight loss. Unfortunatly over the years I have gained it back, nursing school was a huge factor but no more excuses.

Now I would like to start my weightless journey again today.
Why not start by joining in on the march challenge?

I will aim for a goal of 10lb loss by April 1st, beginning I usually have a big loss once I increase activity and cut out the pop/sugars...

Official start weight is 215lbs....

AdorableBookworm yes! definitely if you're sore from weights then you'll be holding water whilst your body repairs as SantaClarita said. Great work by you for doing the weights! And keep sticking with the plan. I put my daily weigh-in in to a graph v date, and then add a trendline so that I can see when I go above or below the line that I can expect to come back to it soon. Its a good way of not worrying about the little ups (don't think anyone on this site is worrying about the downs!) along the way.
