clarita It is hard planning meals because I am not the one in the family that does the cooking. My husband is very sweet and supportive, but with everything on his plate I feel bad having him make something different for me. I might just have to suck it up and learn to cook on my own!

bookworm I am glad that you are feeling better!! Last week I was perfectly on plan and bounced up, down, all around for no reason, this week I had good losses so being patient totally paid off. I have heard that these patterns are pretty common.

tiredofgettingbigger Welcome back!! This website has been a huge source of my success this time! Your goal looks great, good luck!!!

ophelia That is so frustrating. I will be hoping that you get a good whoosh in time for the diet bet! When I lose inches and go down a size, the scale NEVER shows it at the same time. I bet that is what is happening with you right now.

ange nice drop!!

flower Congrats getting to a new decade!!

kfunk and ange: Thanks for the support, and nice work on your weight loss this week! I'm hoping to be a copycat soon... haha!

WEELLLL, after yesterday morning's crummy weigh-in, the rest of the day seemed to have a similar tone. I won't bore you with the details, but it basically just wasn't my favorite day, all day long, with many irritating or unlucky or crummy things happening. Oh well. I ended it with some poor food choices that night (pizza) and now my weight is up a bit more from all that salt. Life goes on, I suppose.

Today I am feeling a lot better mentally, and I'm ready to crush this. Everyone has bad days, so I'm not going to throw myself a pity party.

I was intrigued after hearing about kfunk's switch back to WW, so I hopped back on board that, too. Of course, the pizza ate up all my flex points. LOL Strong Start!! Hahaha! Regardless, I am very motivated to stick to it. I've done it before and liked it. So THANKS kfunk for reminding me that maybe I should do that again! I'm excited about it. I don't know if you can have friends on that or not, but I have the same username over there (compliments of Google's auto-naming system....).

Here's to a great day for all.

AdorableBookworm We certainly can all relate to those frustrating times. What can we do? Keep kick that negative voice in the butt and keep crushing it! It will eventually pay off. I'm glad you're having a better day. Quick blood sugar question, did they tell your husband where his blood sugars should be before and after eating? I don't have my class for 2 weeks and I feel like i'm just guessing and I don't like that. Thanks!

kfunk, SantaClarita and ange82much nice losses!

ophelia I know how crappy that is, but you know from history that it will turn around! You've come so far and you'll make it!

Welcome back TiredOfGettingBigger!

Good blood pressures and blood sugars. I'm testing out my reaction to different foods and so far no surprising spikes. Staying on plan and had a bit of a whoosh after staying the same a couple of days. Will continue to keep on!

adorablebookworm YAY, I am excited that you joined WW! What day did you pick for your weigh in day? I chose Saturday because I do really well during the week haha! I also have the same name over there. I haven't really taken the time to navigate the site, but I think that you can have buddies, or hope so at least!! I am glad that yesterday is behind you, days like that suck!

3 point WW dough - you can make anything with it, bagels, pretzel bites, but I use it as a pizza crust:

1 cup self rising flour
1 cup of 0% FAGE yogurt

Mix together and then divide into 4 equal parts. Bake at 350 for 22 minutes.

The pizza sauce is usually 1 point depending on the brand - I chose the Classico brand and mozzarella cheese is 1 point for an ounce... so if you go with the bare minimum for toppings its only 5 points!

clarita nice loss!

flower Thank you!! I read about the sourdough bread in the 2% weight loss thread and the gluten is probably the culprit, but especially so if you usually stay away from it.

momtopands Nice whoosh!! Glad to hear your numbers are looking good!

kfunk: You are so thoughtful! Thank you for that recipe. I will definitely try it. Pizza is my most common go-to when I make a high-calorie choice, so I'll make sure to have those ingredients handy. It's faster then having it delivered, too.

I decided to have my weigh in on Monday, since that's when points reset. I didn't want to get a new set of points on Saturdays since I tend to have trouble on the weekends. It's something I've been wanting to fix for a very long time. I can totally relate to having a better weigh-in on Saturday, though!

It's exciting to see differences in my points from yesterday to today, just making little changes. I switched out half the cream in my coffee for almond milk (a battle I wage continually ) and ate a tangelo for free instead of the higher calorie Naked juice I would normally have. It's fun.

momtopands: They did not tell my husband any numbers either. We used the chart that came with our blood checker and Google searches as a guide. In the mornings (fasted), his blood sugar used to be over 100; usually around 105-110. After meals (2 hours), his blood sugar would usually be in the 180s.

We started by tracking it with no diet changes, just to see what it did throughout the day. We tracked it over time on a chart I kept on the fridge. We logged the date, time, and when he had last eaten. He didn't really pay attention to it before we got together, and it scared me that he was not really caring about it, so I made it into a big deal. It went down in large intervals, like steps I guess - not small amounts, but I'm not sure if that's something that will be different for everyone.

Now it's much lower, but we still check it occasionally. His is genetic, so he has to be careful and is still in the high range of normal. Good for you for staying on top of it. I know it's kinda scary. You'll be feeling better in no time.

I'm not allowed to post links yet, but if you google image search a diabetes or prediabetes sugar levels chart, you'll see a bunch come up.

I hope that helps.

adorablebookworm You are very welcome, I hope that you like it! She has some other goodies in here: https://www.messforless.net/2-ingred...tchers-bagels/

That is good to know about the points resetting on Mondays! I like that!! Great job making substitutions yesterday! How did you like the almond milk? I struggle with the coffee portion. Before I joined WW I was having 4 tablespoons of flavored cream which was 140 calories, but that same amount is 8 points!! Now I am having 2 tablespoons of sugar free cream (yuck!) with 1 tablespoon of my normal stuff for 3 points. Its not my favorite though. We are going out to eat on Tuesday before going to a Wild hockey game and I am nervous about it!

ange Way to go!! You just reminded me to change my ticker, thank you!

kfunk: Thanks for the link! I will definitely check it out.

I too am addicted to the flavored cream. I guess I'm fortunate though with almond milk; I really like it, and I'm used to it from my previous stint with bodybuilding and super-fitness. I drink the vanilla, no-sugar-added kind. I drink a huge amount of coffee in the morning. For my giant cup, in order to compromise about my points with WW, I've started doing 1/3c of almond milk (which is about 10 calories and 0 points) and 2Tbs of my delicious sugar cream. So my coffee is down from 10pts to 4. I'll take it. Perhaps I'll whittle it down further, but honestly, I really enjoy my coffee and I can work around the points, so I may not.

Out of curiosity, since I was a bit nervous about all the free point food, I counted up my calories for yesterday. Shut the front door - I only ate 1300 calories. On Accident! What?!!! That does not happen. It just does NOT. I am SO sold on their new system. Normally I get to 1300 only with incredible force of will and being so hungry at night. Not anymore.

Another thing I like - I have the metabolism of a total endomorph, so calorie counts that may work great for other people do NOT work for me. They started me at 26 pts a day b/c of my activity levels, but then when my weight went up after the pizza, they bumped me down to 23. I really like that. It adjusts for what I need, and not what some arbitrary equation says I should need. I really like that. (Also, they are NOT paying me to say this, haha! I am just happy with my day yesterday.)

vickie and changer: WOW inspiring losses! Great job!

gardener: Thanks for putting together that list! Everyone is looking good!

Yesterday I had a good workout day. I boxed hard for 20 minutes, lifted for my back for 45 minutes, and went for my walk at work; I netted 10,800 steps. I am happy about it. Today is supposed to be a rest day, but one of my goals is to start regularly incorporating yoga and mobility work, so I want to do that today. I will also go for a walk at work, but only for a mile b/c I tweaked a muscle in my hip a little. Nothing bad - it should be fine by tomorrow.

Congrats to everyone on so many losses! Let's all make a commitment to have a great weekend, too! Maybe we should all make a mini goal? Would that be fun?
