Ohhh yea, finally after 3 dang years jury selection will start May 9th and opening statements start I think the May 17th. The defense is doing anything in their power to keep the evidence out of the courtroom, but it's not working out so good for them... *tee hee* Caylee will get her justice! That's all the matters and that witch will rot!

I will talk to my coach about those enzymes. It's just time to phase off. Tho I do plan on using my product in my day to day life. Rondar has turned me on to several other products that I really like, so that's been fun!
Thank you! As for the new beau, he has actually been around for about 6 months. I broke up with my ex almost a year ago but he refused to leave my house. It became a battle. The new beau is a friend of the past 3 yrs and he was willing to deal with things as they were. He's a great guy!

YES! Gotta love those poodles. We have them from 1yr to 10yrs old. They are just so great at every age.

I have heard bits and pieces of the case. It is really sad. I do hope they get justice for the girl and relief for her family. It is so sad when you start thinking of all the drama for the family.

I wish you well tomorrow when you see your coach. I think you will probably do ok moving to phase 2.

AND, I do plan to be around quite a bit more. I hope we get some time to chat.

carla- poodle me! - just don't let dh in on it or there'll be another death on the boards..

man o man, i'm about miserable today, TOM finally came, (praises!) but the big C is killin me! i finally got back OP but not quite all my veggies (i know, i know!) and the scale started moving, but everything else forgot to... ughh. would you all say avoid the fiber supplements right now as to not compound the problem and just use a laxative? i added vit c, colace and water. i'm considering mag citrate, sea salt in water or something... suggestions please!
I am jealous!! I love asparagus! It is wonderful and for you to have it wild, WOW!! Lucky girl! We never see it for less than 2.00usd a pound. I wish I could just go pick it!

As for poodles, I would love to help you adopt one! I do understand you husbands point of view though. Right now, I have 3 in my home and it can be quite a bit of chaos when they get to playing.

As for the constipation, I might be inclined to do the sea salt flush. Based on the article shared the other day I would definitely say NO fiber supplements. I know some have done well adding 1tbsp of ground flax seed per day. Or using lemon water first thing in the morning works for some others.

What IP suggests are:
First, review food diary and be certain they are eating all the vegetables, salads and drinking the water. At this point, suggest 2 to 4 capsules of Novi-Lax at bedtime and increase water to 3 liters (quarts) per day.

If not resolved in 2 days proceed to:
Stop the calcium I Magnesium supplement. Have ciient purchase a 500 mg Magnesium supplement (usually magnesium oxlde very inexpensive at any supermarket, CVS or Walgreens). Start with one at bedtime with the Novi-Lax. If no relief the next day, add a second tablet the following night.

If no relief, proceed to:
Add 2 capsules of Peri-Colace the next day, and if no relief by bedtime, take 2 more at bedtime. "Peri-colace" is a combination stool softener (docusate sodium) and an herbal stimulant laxative (senna extract). Do not buy the brand name ... it's ridiculously expenslve.-'- Have them go to Walgreens or CVSand get their generic brand (on the shelf right next to the
brand name product). It will say 'Oocusate sodium and senna (or sennosldes)' on the label.

In place of the preceding paragraph, the client may also use a Fleet's Enema (available, readyto- use, at any pharmacy. If there is still a problem, refer to physician to rule out any structural problem (i.e. a bowel obstruction).
--NEVER, ever give a fiber supplement to a person suffering from constipation. These products are NOT laxatives, but used to maintain regularity. It will make the constipation worse!

There are several items that are high in fiber. Some bring with them extra carbs but many are and equal carb fiber count so, in the end, the net carb for the veggie will be zero but, you get all that great fiber. The information below will be based on cup units.

Any of the greens (collard, turnip, kale, chard) have about 2g of fiber per cup raw or cooked.

asparagus has 4g
brussel sprouts 4g an occasional item as it has more total carbs
all cabbage 3 -4g
Black soy beans 14g with only 2g useable carb!
Broccoli 6g
Cauliflower 2g but no net carbs
Eggplant 3g
Mushroom 1.5g
Peppers (green or other) 3g
Rhubarb 4g
Spinach raw 4g
Celery 1.5g but it is a zero net carb
Radish 2g
Zucchini 3g
Endive 2g but net of zero
Fennel 3 but a net of zero
Green beans 4g but it has 6 useable carbs per cup so it is an occasional item
Broccoli raab/rabe/or rappini 1g but not net carb
Okra 4g but no net carb
Chayote 4g but has 3 useable carbs
Yellow squash 2g but has 3 useable carbs

If you are in phase 3 (big breakfast) or phase 4,
You may be allowed to incorporate some of these:
Avocado 1 medium has 17carb and 11fiber that is great on an occasional salad.
Artichoke 14carb and 10fiber net carb 4g
Raspberries or Blackberries 15carb and 8fiber per cup net carbs would be 7g!
Lentils 10 carbs with 8g fiber
Other good choices are: apple, pear, oatmeal, barley, garbanzo bean, black bean, lentils, lima bean, snow peas, sweet potato

This is something some coaches recommend beginning in Phase1 although it is not on protocol it is used as a supplement like olive oil and in place of psyllium:
Flax seed 1tbsp has .1g useable carb and 1.9 grams fiber. It has been incorporated on this diet with good results for many.

This is great added into salads, to make a 1 carb bread, to add to smoothies/shakes, or to roll chicken or fish in and bake.

I have added asparagus, peppers, cauliflower, celery and cabbage (as well as my addition of two salads a day!). The scale seems to be moving a bit more now! As of this morning, I have lost 2.5 lbs rather than my 1 lb.. and I haven't even gone to me weigh in yet!

Today was a little tougher than yesterday... had a little emotional, well not really an upset, but a small concern & I really wanted some comfort food... good thing there wasn't any in the house & I didn't want to drive to the store... so I grabbed a few stalks of celery & crunched myself out of the craving... just had a comforting phone call from the guy I was getting emotional over & all is well... sometimes I feel like a teenager...

I tried cheaper peanut butter too. Found it's not bad enough to keep me out of it either! I have classified it contraband. It was dh's birthday last night. I was good about meal but had a big glass of red wine. Restaurant brought over a little tray of goodies with candle for dh. I found myself scraping a little of the hardened _________ sauce off the plate. Luckily, I couldn't get much off! Don't know what it's going to do to the scale and ketosis. Hope to bounce back quickly. I forgot about the celery. I use that all the time, especially if just hanging out in front of t.v. cuz I don't realize what I'm actually putting in my mouth. Thanks for reminder. Hang in there with the emotional stuff. That is definitely a time when we think about comfort food. Relationships are hard - Even with husbands, children, even girlfriends sometimes. And I think dating could be the worst - the ups and downs. After getting back on this site and reading everyone's posts I think I'm going to go back op to try to lose those last 5 pounds and more. I never thought I'd get to where I am so I think I'm listening to all those people saying, "You don't want to lose any more do you?" Well, yes I do. And faster is more motivating and that means eliminating those little cheats I've incorporated. Goodbye Marie's bc dressing...

"Calm" juice. I love the concept! Do you add other ingredients or take it straight? And would that be better for the diet than red wine? Not that I'm going to do it immediately cuz I'm going back to strict op for a little while but soon I hope.

It is so good to see you. Your profile pic is gorgeous. I'm sorry for your loss, but you sound like you are on a good upswing in life now. At least we have the knowledge and tools to get us out of these food funks now!!

On a side note, my mom successfully made it to maintenance after losing 40 lbs. She looks and feels great. IP really works as does the Maintenance protocol. (If we follow it, that is!)

That is so great about your mom! I am glad she got to her goal and, I'm sure she is so grateful to you for helping her along the way.

You are right, as long as we do the maintenance protocol things stay in check! Next time I am off of this, I will be much more rigorous about staying on maintenance.

Day 8 back on protocol... I made it past a week this time!!!.. I'm so relieved, that seemed to be my stumbling point the other times I tried to start over... I'm pretty sure this time I can get those last 30 lbs. off...

Speaking of lbs., since I didn't have a coach, & there were no other occasions that forced me to step on the scales, I spent the first 9 months of this way of eating not knowing how much I weighed... then I joined the gym & had to weigh as part of my fitness assessment... I resisted getting back on the scales for the first month I was there, then waited another month for another look... well, a couple of days ago, I weighed at the gym & started wondering if my home scales were about the same... so, I dusted them off, put in new batteries, & stepped on... funny thing, they weigh about a pound MORE than the ones at the gym... didn't look good, but at least now I know I can keep track IF I decide I need to... I'm just gonna try to not get obsessive about it... btw, according to the scale at the gym, I've lost only about 3 lbs. since I started there the middle of Feb., but then I wasn't really doing a good job with IP-ish protocol during most of that time... I'm also hoping it indicates I'm building muscle, my main reason for going there... well, time will tell...

hugs

Have a quick question. Started my big breakfast today. Was so excited about yogurt and had bought the Carbmaster like coach said but a sheet we have is that it must be the plain kind. I have a spicy pear waiting for an answer. Thanks so much.

Yes yes....I too stumble to get past days 7-9. I am a major scale obsessor. I only weigh once a day in the morning, but I start waking up around 4am anxious to see if I lost weight (this only occurs when I am very focused and 100%). I have been very focused for about 2.5 weeks now. The first week was spent getting into ketosis and losing my water gain from my planned cheat. The scale has gone down every day since last Saturday but nothing today....bummer. I want the 160's badly.

So I just counted and it's 79 days until my wedding! So I have decided to continue going hardcore for 75 days, and take it easy on the 4 days leading to my wedding. To keep myself motivated, my before pictures are hanging on my fridge and I made a 75 day weight loss chart. I am also thinking of getting Brandon to take a picture of me every day for the next 75 days so at the end I can put them all together in a video to see myself shrink like they do in the show X-Weighted and Bulging Brides! Little things to keep me motivated!!

Hope everyone is having a good IP day!!!

Hey there. Still hanging in there. I must admit that I did have a piece of fried chicken (with the skin) yesterday. I know it is not an excuse however I was doing a home visit for one of my kids. this child resides with his grandmother on the reservation that we live by. I have dealt extensivly with this reservation and tribal customs and it is considered "rude" and "disrepectful" to not accept food etc when visiting if it is offered. There was a whole bunch of stuff there and the chicken was the best choice. Now I could have taken the skin off but I chose not to. I did drink a TON of water on the way home. I must say I am proud of myself for not just turning it into a full blown cheat. Although today I am on the edge!

Just hang in there! I have been trying so hard to get back on track and keep falling on and off the IP wagon. I would tell myself "Ok, just one little cheat then back on track!" but it never happens like that! I think I kept myself motivated last year by setting a cheat day, a couple months down the road. That way anything I craved, I would tell myself I could have it then. And then when the time actually came, I didn't even want the cheat. So I have set myself on a strict 75-day NO CHEATING stretch, so I really hope I can stick to it. I am going to try to start coming back to the forum daily like I did before. I found that really helped!!

Good luck!

Tomorrow will be my last day on phase II. I gained a couple of lbs the 1st week on phase II, but managed to lose them plus 1.4 lbs extra. I am hoping that I don't continue to gain in phase III. I have been doing yoga on Thursday nights, and will be adding two weight days as I move to phase III. I am a little nervous, I see my coach tomorrow and will ask my questions for phase III, but from what I have been reading it seems like one of the harder phases, even though it isn't as strict as phase I or II.

On a side note I will most likely be back on IP phase I in June or July, to lose the last 15-20lbs. We will see how the muscle gain and toning goes.
