  • Three months here on IP, and for the first time I didnt lose weight, actually went up .5 lbs. Havent cheated, or changed anything except on antibiotics for sinus infection. Feel just a little tired, from working, exercising with a sinus headache and all the nose blowing etc...

So the coach suggested the famous Novi cleanse. I dont have any digestive problems, Things are working fine and twice a day stuff moves lol..

I am wondering if its worth it. Coach said this will help me with the weight loss stall. In my lil mind I am thinking, only stalled this one time, and I have been losing weight since last july. Do I need to clean things out of toxins from losing weight for so long. Or is this kind of a waste of money? I know IP is a buisness they need to make money but I am a good client, 100$ plus a week, plus their vitamins. Its like when something isint broken, why fix it you know. Just wonder what the experienced girls think.

I agree with you....first time with all that success. I would wait another week. Congrats on the success

I haven't tried Novi cleanse but just bumped the thread that BeachBella created. I'm sure you probably saw it in the past, but it has a couple different perspectives about how it works. Good luck. You're doing great.
  • Quote: As promised...my weight gain for 10 days of holiday was suprisingly only 3.5 lbs. I've been on maintenance since early Feb., I'm thinking 2 things.
1.I really have reset the pancreas and metabolism to work more efficiently.
    2. I do have better eating habits and even my cheats are less drastic than they used to be.
My eating consisted of (besides lots of veggies, salads and very healthy food in general) vodka and/or red wine for alcohol, lots of hummus, eggplant salad with tehina, tons of pita and other whole grain breads...I mean TONS of bread!!!! and some desserts, but honestly not as much as I thought I would have. I had some real sweets, AND brought my WF stuff to cut down on sugar. Had some SF cookies, brought IP bars and mixed it all up with regular baked goods.
I look a little blown up, bloated...and I'm going to do a few low carb days to detox and lose the excess.
The weight gain looks like more pounds than I gained, especially in face, stomach and upper thighs.

So there's my report for my first holiday since starting IP back in October.
    Have a great weekend everyone.
Wow Sunny! Thanks for the info! 3.5 lbs is awesome in my book. I routinely gain that after just one free day. Tell me, what is your typical weight gain after a free day? I am going away in the middle of June for 10 days and know it will be difficult to follow the maintenance guidelines.

I hope your trip was great, it sure sounded delicious!

I did the cleanse, and while I agree with the principle of detoxing, this wasn't a very effective cleanse in my opinion. You could probably buy a better one for less money, if you need one.
  • So, how do we know if we need a cleanse, what would the symptoms be?
  • Quote: So, how do we know if we need a cleanse, what would the symptoms be?
I'm not sure about symptoms, it's just that as the fat is released from cells, stored toxins are released with it, and the cleanse is to help the colon, kidneys, and liver deal with that. If you're being told to do it because of one low weigh-in, I would wait.
  • I noticed the person after my weigh in bought the novi cleanse as well lol..I have to wait till my antibiotics are done with, but if I lose at least a pound by wed, then I wont do it right away.

Sounds like you're doing just fine. Most of us have stalled at least twice by the time you have. Usually just time to switch things around, like your veggies, restricteds, add more variety to your diet. We have to trick out bodies every so often or it gets used to the routine, so pull a whammy on yourself and you'll get moving the natural way.
I agree...if it ain't broke don't fix it. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

    Hey Jenny,
I usually don't weigh myself after a free day. I just do a ph.1 strict day, weigh myself after that and I seem to break even.
What I'm concerned with now after this vacation is that I look heavier to myself than 3.5 lbs. I read in one of the threads that when you drink alcohol on cheats, you do put on more fat in the gain, so that would explain why I look larger to myself, given that fat takes up more room. I'm not loving that and it does have me thinking about drinking less when I'm off the wagon.

Only thing I can suggest when you go away is to have as much roughage as you can, while you're also indulging. It does help for sure to include salads, veggies, fiber and good water drinking. I think that's what helped me not to gain too much.

I'll let you all know how I look after I lose the additional weight and if it looks the same as it did before I started holiday. Man...this is really a serious lifestyle change and it only works if you work it. It's humbling to me when I realize there's not a whole lot of wiggle room here...just the choice to either maintain the lifestyle or not. It's a sobering thought and not always easy, but boy, it's so nice to like what you see in the mirror, and that makes it all worthwhile.
    Take care,
    Sunny
  • Quote: I found this recipe on a diabetic website. I thought that it would be helpful for us. I am going to try it. I don't like what I've heard about aspertame.

    http://diabeticgourmet.com/forum/rc....cgi?read=10692

here's a recipe. SUGAR FREE ASPARTAME FREE JELLO

    2 Kool Aid Packets

1 tsp. liquid Splenda or stevia concentrate (recipe) or granular Splenda (adds 24 carbs)

    4 packets of gelatin

    4 C water

Place all ingredients except water in a mixing bowl. Add 3 cups of boiling water and stir until completely dissolved. Add I cup cold water. Stir - Chill until set
Holy Moly...thanks for the recipe, but you look AMAZING Congrats on all your weight and inches lost!
  • Help! I have been feeling so sick, naseau(sp), lethargic, absolutely NO appetite, the small of food, the taste of the IP packets are really getting to me. Have you experienced this? I tested my urine, it shows a trace of ketosis. I've tried taking the salt, lots of water but I am at the point now that water is getting hard to swallow. getting worried, my coach is not back until Thursday. This is my 9th week, I've lost almost 20 pounds and I'm thinking I'm going to give it up and eat real food. Any thoughts??
  • Anyone seen BeachBella?
    Ally Ally, where are you????
  • Hey everyone. My weight loss seems to be speeding up again. I lost 2.5 lbs at my weigh in instead of the usual 1 lb that I have been seeing each week. Salad seems to have made a big difference! And this week I will go without any restricteds. I am hoping to lose another 13 lbs by June 11th (the day I graduate from college!! Eeeeee!) That will make an even 50 lbs lost. So I am pulling for that. Though, even if I don't lose that much I will still be happy!

Just a question, is one romaine heart a day enough lettuce to be eating? I am hoping so!

I have times like this (except for the water....I love water and always have)....but the feeling goes away after a week or so and I push through. Give it some time...you can do this dig deep for inner strength....I literally have to dig into my depths of my will power every day to keep going.

I eat a half of a romain heart every day and have since day one. Restricted have always kept me losing....sometimes I think they get a bad rap. As a matter of fact I didn't eat them for the first 5-6 weeks and when I introduced them I started losing 3.5-4.0 pounds every week up to week 17 when all my trips and vacations started. But when I am 100% between trips I eat them every day and lose 3ish pounds a week. I am on my last 6 weeks run and wouldn't be able to do it without those yummy bars. But you know your body best. You are doing great and congrats on the upcoming graduations
