Default Happy Sunday!!!

Y'all I have to say that reading everybody's input here is so encouraging! I'm in day 2 and plan to do some "cutting and chopping" so that I have some veggies for the week. Also going to do a sirloin roast and some chicken. I love to cook on Sunday and at first thought I was going to have to give it up. But as I see recipes I feel encouraged.

I am open to anyone's salad dressing concoctions. I was hoping to buy some WF products but havent found them yet. What are the best of the WF salad dressings? I find it a little hard to believe that there can be a bleu cheese salad dressing that is legit.

I don't plan to weight myself everyday but was surprised to see nearly a pound difference since yesterday (Day 1) I know it is water weight but hey downward spiral numbers makes a body happy!!

Happy Sunday to everyone from the Big Easy

Here is the link to the Walden Farms review, what people like and don't like, but please remember that everyone's tastes are different. On one of the comments are places to buy Walden Farms products...I get mine from Low Carb Canada.com, it is cheaper than buying it from the Walden Farms website

Default Sunday afternoon

Alright!!! Just made the mustard& vinegar salad dressing --- it rocks!!

Mustard and Vinegar Salad Dressing (Phase 1 Compatible) - by Jan Paynter-Parsons, Dartmouth, NS
• 6 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp Ideal Protein Diet approved Dijon mustard
• 2 tbsp white or cider vinegar
• 1 level tsp sea salt
• 1 level tsp freshly ground black pepper
Put all ingredients in a Mason or jam jar. Shake like mad and dress your salad with 1 - 1 1/2 tbsp. Delicious!
This will keep in the fridge for about a week or so.

This is a dressing I would use w/o being on a diet.

Don't feel too bad today. Not ready to run a mile but do think I can get some housework done before the weekend is over.

Making a herb rubbed sirloin roast for the dinner and the week. I am including the link at my favorite recipes.

I am going to have to try this dressing recipe!! It sounds great!! Herb rubbed sirloin roast sounds wonderful also! We are going to have to try that this week. I feel much better today so I hope that my energy improves. I'm looking forward to my 1st weigh in this coming Friday.

sophly0709;

I had that dressing on my salad at lunch time and then put some over cooked broccoli. Also put some raw broccoli in a ziploc with some to marinate. The roast turned out great, tender and flavorful.

Jordanna, Thanks for all the tips. I started on IP and my progress has felt a little slow. I think it may be because I didn't realize eating 1 restricted food item everyday would slow me down. Also I love the chocolate drink mixes and have those alot and you mentioned they have more carbs than the puddings. I didn't know there was such a difference with the unrestricted food items.

I'm thinking about getting the fruit drink mixes which I tried and thought were to sweet and making popsicles out of them now that its getting hotter outside.

Has anyone tried that and if so, which flavors did you like best?

Thanks!

OK so what is this BIG Mac in a bowl everyone keeps talking about. Also, I'm craving pickles which I know are allowed but all the pickles I'm finding at the store have at least 1g of carbs. What's the deals should I have them or not?

Thanks,
Chrisitne

Hey y'all, beginning of day 4 and I am down 4 lbs on my scale...this rocks!!! I thought at first there would be a big fluid drop and then smaller amounts but I have been averaging 1 lb a day. I think I am feeling better today, it is early yet but between the antibiotics for a bronchial infection kicking in and being further down the IP road, sure feels better than yesterday or the day before or the one before that one. I actually couldn't finish dinner last night. My son and I made a big salad with lots of veggies and the mustard salad dressing, chicken and egg. I have been going to bed earlier and sleeping well.
I'm thinking that maybe I can do this...

I am going to try to go back to my exercise class tomorrow and just do what I can do or maybe not. I am going to listen to and take care of this new body I am making...

Good thoughts to all.

Hello Jordana! Really appreciate your posts as I am new and you are def a pro!
Wondering why it is important to "not get your heartrate up" during exercise. Is that something inherent to the program that I didn't catch? I do cardio 3-4 x's a week and would hate to give that up as it is my stress release/mood management tool...thanks!

Dill pickles are ok. I go for low-sodium version. Vegetables inherently have a small amount of carbs. The ones on your IP protocol list are all very low in carbs and sugar. Eat 'em up!

LOL! I needed that. I'm new and feeling un-hungry but a bit shaky, so consider this tip noted and a mood-lifter. I'm also totally excited about your progress as I've got about the same amount to lose. All best and good luck!

Hi Samantha,
How is it going for you? I too have about the same amount of weight to lose and end goal so I thought it might be helpful to us both to watch each others' progress. Anyway, I started today and have "Cautious High Hopes". It's been one heck of a long time since I've worn all those lovely size 8 outfits!

Cheers!
Cathy

I am loving reading all of your success stories, it makes me want to stay on protocol all the more!! The tips for us newbies is great and I'm so glad that I found this forum!!

I felt TERRIBLE Day 3 also! But I pushed through, and was totally fine on Day 4. I hope you are feeling better by now!
I'm on Day 10 right now. I was weighed in the morning of Day 6 and had lost 7.2 lbs!!!
Strangely enough, I travel to my coach so I only get weighed in every 2 weeks usually.
