I would love to see more action in this thread. All the tall girls out there must be dieting or maintaining...lets hear your stories and inspirations. I'm still new here and would love to share all the trials and tribulations and most importantly the weight lost and goals met.

Hey ladies I am so glad just found this tread, we definitely need to liven it up a little bit

Do you ladies have any suggestion for a goal weight for someone who is 5'9"? I am thinking 145 but everyone i talked to thinks thats really low. What do you ladies think?

I agree, I think that's a little low but it's where ever you are comfortable. I was that weight in gr 8 and was a bean pole. LOL No shape whatsoever yet then. I also am large boned. Huge feet, wrists, and hands. Even my head is big. When I try on hats they hardly ever fit me. I'm hoping that I can get down to 190 and then go from there. I've lost 7.6 lbs so far...lots to go but I'll try not to think of that too much or I will give up!!

Jessica,

Thats what I'm hoping. These first two weeks seemed easy but I'm worried about long term. Is it hard to keep going or do you feel a little discouraged at times and ready to eat all the cheetos and cake...who cares? I know I shouldn't be thinking those thoughts but as I said I worry about the long term. I should be saying I KNOW I CAN, I KNOW I CAN, I KNOW I CAN!!

JJ-
I actually found it to be easier the longer you go. After a while everything turns into habit and your body is used to it. Cravings suck and I still have them (and give in to them) every once in a while. One of the things that helped me was not cutting out the food that I loved and let myself have it as long as it is in moderation. I dont want to feel like I am depriving myself of food because I know I would be cranky and would give up. I guess it has worked for me You can do it! Stay positive and think about how great you will feel and look!

Hi there Jessica,
I keep going back to the goal page and it gets me so inspired and motivated. Some of the people had ALOT to lose and they did it!!
It is going to have to be a total new way of life I definately notice that my portions are much smaller when I track points. i was such a glutton.LOL
Can't seem to get away from my double double coffees though...I'll have to try to cut down the sugar slowly, I hate drinking my points. Did you count calories or what? I'm not sure I could do that but I guess it wouldn't be much different than counting points. It's what you get used to.
Keepp me posted and I enjoy hearing from you

Ya I go back there and look at pictures a lot! It definitely gives me a lot of motivation, which I havent had too much of lately.
I hated drinking my calories too I used to drink soooo much soda, about 3 or 4 cans a day and then I quit one day and it was a long week full of headaches and me being cranky but it was definitely worth it. I feel so much better now that I do not drink soda and its been over a year!
I have been counting calories the whole time. I have never counted points and dont really understand it. I would just go with whatever you feel comfortable with

Not sure what's happening, but I gained half a pound overnight...AARGH!
Maybe i should be drinking more water but I just don't think of it during the day. Did you do any exercising at all? I have an elliptical that I was faithful on when I first got it, but my husband was right, they end up being dust catchers. LOL I did like the way I felt when I got my hiney moving more, but when it's soo hot outside, I can't muster up the energy to climb off the couch much less climb onto the elliptical.
Well, the heat is gone today so I have no excuses...I'll have to promise to tell how many minutes I did when I check in later today again...CRACK THE WHIP!!

Jessica - I'm 5' 8.75'' and currently at 151. I'm aiming for 145 because I still have some pudge but mainly I want to tone up and change the shape of my body. I have a small chest so I don't carry much weight there - if you are naturally better endowed than I am, you will be able to stop at a higher weight because you will have lost more from other areas I look far better at this weight (obviously) than I did even ten pounds ago. I put on 7lbs over six months last year and finally got back to where I was before but I really FELT the 7lbs. I think as you get even closer to goal you will know when to stop. My body is happy at 150 but I'm not happy and I struggle to get below this point because it just does not want to let go! A combination of being where you want to be, where you can maintain, and where your body wants to be should give you a good indication of when it's time to stop

Good luck! You've come SO far already you can totally reach whatever goal you set for yourself

JJ Canada, stop tempting me with Tim's! I miss it SOOOO much. I'm from Calgary (Vancouver originally though). Double doubles are evil and a major calorie hit considering it's just a drink and I don't like drinking my calories, but between that and iced caps I am in serious trouble when I go anywhere near a Tim's! And the breakfast sandwich - MMMM. Perhaps I should be glad there are none over here My friend sent me a t-shirt in my first year abroad that says 'Give me my Timmy's and nobody gets hurt'. LOL No one knows what it refers to but I wear it anyway!

OH YEAH TIMMIES!! Freedom, if coffee in England is like American coffee, poor you!! We went to the States last fall and I tell you, the farther from the Canadian border you go, the worse the coffee tastes! We called it "DITCH WATER" It was horrible.

I feel huge talking to you two. Me weighing in at 241lbs. I am VERY well endowed on top...I swear they are probably 10 lbs each. I wear an H cup...YIKES! I have always been larger there even when I wasn't overweight so I don't think much of that will go(too bad)
