I guess I'm lucky I'm not super leggy. I typically fit in average length pants, but occasionally have to go to the long lengths. I'm so happy that tunics and longer shirts are back in style, because now I can actually find shirts that fit right
I do okay with pants too (long torso), but short shirt bottoms and short shirt arms drive me crazy! And I don't "look" my weight either. A friend the other day thought I was 180. I'll take a 40 pound advantage!

Yay! I am 5'9". I am about 230 right now - all my size 16's are SNUG. Once I get to 220, they will fit good again. At 210, they will be loose. I will have to get down to about 200 - 205 to fit into some 14's. Thirty pounds to lose just to fit into one stinking size smaller! Oh well. I like being tall!

I'm 5'8", does that count as a tall girl?? I'm 190-ish and most don't see me as being that much, but man I do! Unfortunately I'm not as tall as most of y'all; regulars are usually too short and longs are too long. I'm just at an awkward height, I guess.

I figured I'd check in over here since I'm SURE I'm the tallest on the 3FC forums (at 6'7").
I'm at 380 right now and looking to get down to 275(ish), I haven't really decided. My BMI says I should be 175-220 pounds. HAHAHA.

Anyways..looking for some tall girl love ...and no, girls that are 5ft 8..you are NOT tall :P

Has anyone else read, The Tall Book by Arianne Cohen? I just finished it. It made me feel much less alone in my tallness and it makes you feel good about being in the minority in this world. I think women 6ft and over would get the most out of it.

P.S. - NotFatImFluffy, I think your height is cool! Welcome!

I think it's all relative. 5'8" can be tall if you are around a lot of shorter people. I know that at 5'10", I have no friends taller than me, and 5'10" isn't even that tall.
And when I'm in Japan, 5'10" feels REALLY tall.
My dad is 6'7" and HE'S considered super tall, so I can't even imagine the trouble you have finding clothes. How do you shop? I admire you!

For almost 10 years I wasn't able to find jeans long enough. Once they stopped making mens jeans long enough I started wearing women's jeans rolled up into capris. Capris and mens flip flops - EVERYWHERE.
Last year I discovered Lane Bryant's Right Fit Tall jeans were actually just a tiny bit too short...but I rock them...with flip flops.
It's stressful and VERY embarrassing. I own ONE pair of long jeans. I'm hoping that as I lose my hips and lower stomach weight (thats where I hold it all) my pants will drop down a little bit more like they were before I put on that weight.
I'm nothing to admire - I battle issues with my height every day and I'm definitely no saint about them.

Have you considered having pants sewn for you by a tailor? It might be worth the expense to have a few pairs that fit you beautifully. Like you said, I'm sure once you lose weight your jeans will fit you better.

I'd say 5'8" is medium tall. I wouldn't mind being 5'8" because then pants off the rack would be long enough. It is really hard here in Canada to find Plus Tall pants. I have been ordering some from Coldwater Creek online.

I remember being around 255lbs and someone was cracking jokes about people who weigh over 250lb...I felt so embarrased thinking he has no idea I am over 250. I have always carried my weight pretty proportional. Even when I was low 300 when I would go to the dr the nurse who weighed me always put the big weight at 250 thinking that I was under 300. Now that I am quite a bit over 300 I still don't think people realize just how heavy I am because I am tall...I think it is obvious I am 300+ but they don't realize just how high especially at my highest....

Being tall does have it advantages....but the numbers are what they are.... No matter what size clothes I end up in I am just looking forward to watching the scale drop!!

NotFatImFluffy..
Have you tried Avenue for clothes...they have tall jeans that might work for you...I got some and I actually have to roll the bottom hem and I still step on the back of the jeans because they are really long!

Sasil - I just checked their website and itl ooks like most of their pants have a 30" inseam. I need at least 38".
I will say that today a doctor put me on an old fashioned scale (that only goes to 250). Needless to say the block thunked at the 250 end and didn't budge

I'm between 5'11'' and 6'. I try to convince myself that I should weigh more than some because I am tall, but it's confusing and complicated to be taller in regards to weight. I'm here if you want to talk.

Hi everyone

I'm 6' tall so I can really relate to most if not all of your concerns. I've been this height since the age of 13. I''ve struggled with low self-esteem issues as a teenager, because I was always the tallest girl. I could never find the cute shoes in a size 12 or the nice clothes but with so many options online now. I've finally become confident in my height. I'm still always the tallest women at my job, friends, etc.. But now I'm not ashamed of it. As for the weight issue.. people never believe that i'm over 200 lbs, but I am. I still have my goals and aspirations to being healthy and in shape. Good luck to everyone and I will check in every week or so to help encourage each other. I'm really excited that I found this group of other beautiful tall women.
