Lol I gained weight & disappeared hahah no just busy with work!! & getting ready to start school again!! Trying to get some steam behind me to get motivated & keep going!
So, I'm curious and maybe someone out there can help me. I'm 5'9 with a large porportioned build (kind of a big butt) I was a 22, now a 16 and I want to be a 10. I wonder approx what I would have to weigh to pull that off...any ideas? Thanks!
A little late to the party, but still... I'm 5' 10", can I hang out and be awesome with y'all???
I've always been tall with a large frame... I totally laugh when I see posts about getting out of the 160s and 170s, because my goal is to be IN the 160s/170s!!! Silly shorties. (I kid, I kid... but I know y'all understand!)
justjill, I know when I was in high school I wore a 12 (but I'm more hippy than butt-y) and I weighed around 170-175. Everyone is totally different when it comes to sizing, so take that with a grain of salt. If you're like me, you'll probably fit into a 10 right around your 150 goal. But then again, you could be in a 10 way sooner than that bc everyone is different!

So glad you did, Scarlett!! It's a little quiet around here and needs some livening up. So welcome, ya'll come on down
I agree with you totally about the weights some people have as their starting weight. I too have a large frame and would absolutely love to be 170 but my goal is actually 190. We'll see when I get there!
I can relate to that too. My goal is to get to 180 but I know that that might not be enough to look good. I may actually need to weigh around 190. When I was in high school and was at my lowest weight, I was still around 150. I was clinically anorexic at the time and was all skin and bones (with muscle). I was extremely athletic and had a very muscular build. I started to loose the muscle weight a little once I had such a low amount of fat to feed off of. If you would have asked anyone my weight, they would have never guessed it was that high. I actually think that is why I got away with my eating disorder for so long. As a tall girl, it can be hard knowing that I will never be a lower weight than what most short people think they are fat at. Oh well. I just have to forget the scale and know that I look great even if the number is higher.
JJ - I can't wait to be a 14 and out of plus sizes either!! I can't wait to shop at "normal" stores!!
These last couple weeks are up a few, down a few and I'm getting a little discouraged. I'm definately eating less, not the high fat foods like I was , so what's up!?!?!?
SOUTHERN BELLE...I was 145 in grade 8 and believe me, I was thin , with no shape yet so I cannot imagine what I would look like at that weight now. I'm sure my husband would not be impressed anymore.LOL
What are your great low fat healthy food things that you like to eat now? Ideas are great to get out of a rut. Last night I made a roasted beet salad...HHHMMMMM! It was delish! Roasted beets, salad greens, peaches, feta cheese(low fat of course) and balsamic viniagrette! Sometimes the off the wall sounding thuings taste great. My DH didn't want the kids to try it so he could have more. The kids had pulled up their noses to it just by looking at it. HAHA. So everyone was happy, the kids didn't have to eat it and DH had two helpings!
Even now nobody can believe I weigh as much as I do...the height definately helps disribute the weight around and hide it much better!
How did I miss this thread?? I'm like the poster child for tall girls.
Yes, I, too, was athletic as a high school/college student, and I remember vividly wearing size 10 clothing my senior year in high school after a summer of lifeguarding and fairly extensive deep-water rescue training. Ah, to be that fit again!!!!! Now, not so much (not at all). I'm currently wearing size 26 pretty comfortably on top, with a few 24s that I've been able to wear just in the last couple of weeks. Pants are still a 3x or 26/28--can't get my 26 jeans on yet without muffin top, although they do zip very comfortably.
My goals: I actually have a small build for a tall girl, so I'm aiming for between 170 and 180, although preferably on the lower end of that. (I'll be THRILLED with anything under 190 or so, but I don't think that's the end.) Size-wise, I'd like to wear a size 14 or a 12, which I think is entirely workable once I get the lard off my body. We'll just have to see. I'm more in this for the health, assuming the weight loss will come, so I don't know how I'll manage that end-of-losing stuff yet. I'm looking forward to having to do it, though, believe me!!!
You know what I'm really anxious to do? I'm anxious to be able to order from the specialty tall girls stores, but the only go up to size 20... Next fall, I'll be able to order from them and get clothing with long enough sleeves (I roll up every sleeve on every shirt now).
I've been a lazy high school student, but I was an active youngster and looking to be an athletic college student . I'd love to be able to take up fencing, as it sounds soooo fun, but as it is right now I'd be far too embarrassed to sign up
I'm not quite sure of my "under the flab" build, as I've always been a bit chubby, but I had a sort of full body x-ray thing once, and according to the doctor my shoulders are "slightly" wider than my hips, but other than that *shrugs*
In terms of sizes, I would love to be able to fit into an aussie size 14 (which is a large, last I checked), so not only can I abandon the plus size stores for good, but also fit into the pretty clothes that end at 14! My ultimate goal (though I'd have to see how i look at 14) is 12, cause medium is a nice sounding size. Though in terms of how I look, I'd like to be able to pull off wearing shortshorts, cause they're hawt (), and finding pants that go past my ankle is really really hard! I have a few pants that are the length i like, but they have the biggest baggiest butt, so they're strictly "inside pants" :P
looking forward to towering over everyone else with you!
I'm 5'10" and an hourglass, so despite having been overweight since I was 16, I've never felt as overweight as I actually am- I'm a 10 in dresses and a 31/12 in jeans, despite weighing 190lbs. The highest I've been is 225, and that was after gaining a huge amount of weight freshman year of college (2006), and the lowest I've been recently was 178 (5 lbs away from normal!) in 2008.
I guess I'll always have the image of the perfect size 2 dress in my head, but as a tall girl, I'd have to be underweight to fit into it. Almost all of my friends are shorter than average (5'2", 5'3") and most are 2s and 0s. I know that at many inches taller, with a larger frame, we'll never be the same size, but I can't help feeling extra fat when I'm around really petite girls.
