Jacque~Hope all goes well for you.

David~way to go~your zooming through those pounds!

Well I Bought An ab slide at a yard sale for a dollar.
(yep $1.00) THEY MUST HAVE HATED IT TOO! hahahaha
It hurts so bad! I have used it for 3 days now And it's just 3 minutes day but I swear it seems like 3 hours! It must really work... it hurts like heck! I will see.
Hopefully I get some good results from it.
I am still walking too of course and eating on plan.
The dreaded "TOM" has held me back a bit but I am back to my 184.4 today so hopefully I see some more results soon.
My kids start back to school Monday....So that will be exciting and yet scary also...With the Swine flu or h1 whatever they call it scare, that will be a worry to me.
But Hopefully as always they have a safe And fun year.
I do need a break.
Me & my hubby need some time to ourselves.
Plus it gives me the day to get my house back in order.
I clean to much as it is but now when I clean at least it will last throughout most of the day.hahaha
ANYWAYS~Will type again soon.
EVERYONE TAKE CARE!

Lori - Haha.....I love the part about how they must have hated it too!! I giggled when reading that. I hate when things that are supposed to be quick seem to take forever!!! When I do the 10 minute strength training thing, I feel like it's an hour long. I just want to get through it....but I can do 45 minutes on the elliptical with no problem. It makes no sense!!

I'm still plugging along. The stupid scale isn't moving....but it's my TOM and it is still reading what it said last week, so hopefully that means it will drop some after this weekend. I just really want to be out of the 190's before school starts up again and there's not that much time left before that happens, unfortunately. We'll see though....I think next challenge, I might try to focus more on other goals than just numbers because it's frustrating!

David, that's a test...take out all week long? LOL about Tom...I'd love to dump him!

Lori, not sure what that ab slide is, but it sounds evil! Have fun with it!

Chele, I think the scale has to eventually cooperate. Mine finally did. I guess it was water weight from Monday's workout, after all, because 3 lbs dropped off overnight. I get what you're saying about setting weight loss goals. That's why I started setting other measurable goals for myself.

Today I'll be at the gym till early afternoon, at least. Workout, then the gym cleaning job, then I'm staying some after that to make more progress on the deck. I'd better get my stuff packed and hit the road. Have a good one, everybody!

I could not find this thread for the life of me the last few weeks.

I am so sorry to hear all the difficult times some of you are going through. I think the saying is so true...when it rains it pours. But there is a rainbow after every storm and you will come out of these trying times stronger and with more resolve than before.

I am currently 9.8 pounds away from my Labor Day challenge goal weight...Obviously I am not going to make my goal. I am very upset and disappointed Anyway, just wanted to check in.

Congrats on all of those still tracking towards their goal!

Oh, the first 25 lbs, and keeping it OP with that crazy tempting food week at work, you know what that means! Yep, David gets a Highly Coveted Flamey Award..tadah! Congratulations, David! You go with your bad self!

Lori, ! Now I will have to google the ab-slide thingy, to see what it does. My fave ab torture is plain old straight leg situps...rips the abs right off their moorings, I tell ya! Then, hook your feet under something, and do them on a swiss ball, for even more grins and giggles! (don't do too many, though, these things sneak up on you the next day)

Today we got to do hang squat cleans in our workout. Wow, I need a LOT more practice with the squat cleans, apparently. I got a few, maybe 3 or 4, out of 35, that were done correctly. Yet another thing to put in my warm-up at least weekly, but probably 2 or 3 times a week for the next few weeks, so I can get the form down. I the olympic lifts, for some reason, even though I'm not that good at them yet. I guess I just love having skills to work on, and progress I can measure.

Cleaned the gym today. It was a bit weird, since one gal couldn't make it today, so we left some for her to do tomorrow. I kept feeling like I was forgetting something important, and it was hard to leave the job unfinished. Talk about control issues, right? lol! The deck work went well, but I'll have one more session of that before the job is done, I think.

I've got a job to do tomorrow, so I'm planning to enjoy my evening at home. Probably just sit at my desk, play on the computer, nothing strenuous.

Hey peeps!

Chele, I'm pretty sure that sounds as a serving of fruit. That's what I'm saying...Raisinettes are raisins, fruit=healthy, right?

David, sorry, can't take back a Flamey once it's out there!

So, does anybody else get the "diet police" bit from their friends or family? I was visiting one of my relatives yesterday, and she does this to me all the time.

I told her that my son and I had made biscuits and gravy for Sunday breakfast, and she said, "WHY would you DO that?! You were doing SO good, too!" I'm like this I explained that we'd planned to have it last week, but since I had to be at the gym to do the cleaning, we'd had to put it off a week.

She just didn't get that at all. I've tried to explain to her before that I'm not ON a "diet", that I just eat differently now, but that I don't restrict ANY foods. If I want a (fill in the blank), I just plan for it, and have it...I just don't have it every day.

She doesn't believe that, though, so when I come over, she actually hides food from me. Like, if she makes cookies or brownies, she'll hide them. I sometimes come across these hidden foods while looking for something else, like a teabag for my tea, and it just makes me sad.

Why can't she just act normally around me? I guess I know why, because she says she has emotional eating issues with food, and I know from talking to her that she has the "on a diet, off a diet" mentality, which I do not share.

I just get tired of MY food intake being her primary concern when we're together. IMO, I'm past that, learned it, did it, have a few pounds to go for the strongman thing, but otherwise finished with the weight loss bit, and have moved on to bigger and better goals. I just wish SHE could get past it, since I'd like for us to have a relationship that doesn't revolve around my weight loss, or what I had for breakfast!

Okay, sorry for the rant, but it was bugging me! I'd better get my chores finished and get out the door to the gym.
