I am a little confused, can someone help me...is this really July 2008 or are we in Sept 2007?? Time warp, anybody?
Santana pitches a great 8 innings, Mets winning 5-2 going into the 9th, probably could have had a bigger lead if not for a couple bad decisions by our 3b coach, but whatever. Into the 9th we go, would be nice to see Santana stay in, but they take him out, and our closer is out with an injury, so we are going closer by committee. Being the paranoid Mets fan that I am I alternate b/w being nervous as ****, and thinking 3 run lead no biggie I shouldnt be that nervous. And then the 9th inning goes something like this HIT, HIT, HIT, HIT, HIT, HIT maybe a walk some more crappy hits. I lost count somewhere in there, but the Mets give up a 6 spot in the 9th, most of the runs scoring before anyone was even out, 3 different pitchers fail miserably. And we lose 8-6.
It really sucks to be a Mets fan most of the time. Ugh
Razz I hear you, could be our game. Except not as many runs.
Lohse pitched a great game through the 8th. He gave up 3 runs in the 8th but was still good on the night. Then in comes the bullpen and we lose it again, 2 nights in a row.
There is one good thing, we're playing each other this weekend someone has to win
Clyde, that's the way to look at it! At least someone will be happy!! I wasn't too happy when we played the Mets... maybe you'll have a better time than I did.
EZ's probably not that happy today. I'm much more chipper than I was about our first game against the Dodgers. I love Jimenez!!

I post, in purple, out of respect to your ROCKIES...I was not happy last night, when I saw the score on the bar TV, as I left the Italian resturant with Angie....I think I will make it..as long as wewin today
I had to go to St.Louis today so I stopped off at Busch Stadium. We had vouchers for free tickets that we had to use by the end of August. So Gary I'm going to the Dodgers game on August 6. Lets hope they are back in the groove by then. Looking for a good win

Oh... RAZZ that one had to hurt, I saw the NY paper headlines, Meet the Mess, NY is a tough place to be playing ... I think its tougher than Boston bc of the two teams.....

Bill.. OK, so, I've ordered up a sunny, dry, crisp 75 degree day for you. Beckett will be amazing, Ells and Pedroia will put on a show, Papi will be clutch, Varitek will be 'hot', Manny will be Manny, Okie will be back to throwin his Okie-dokie.. Papelbon will close it with nine pitches.. Beers will be 2 for a buck.. Oh, and they'll win 10-5 !! ya, i'm a little crazy... There ya go Bill, a perfect day !

Yay!! After that dreadful loss Tuesday night my guys bounce back and take the next two. They've won all 4 series against the Phils so far this yr. I don't really think being 1 game up instead of 1 GB in the standings is really that big of a deal at this point, but its still nice to be in first...and at least the past two games will quiet the "The Mets have no heart no guts, the Phillies are just so much more mentally tough" talk for a little while.
NY is a tough place to be playing ... I think its tougher than Boston bc of the two teams.....
