My head is spinning. Manny to LA! Just WOW. I'll miss him and miss his bat. His words didn't bother me. I never did understand what his problem was. Is it that difficult to live on only $20 Million a year?

The trading deadline passed today. There could be other things done through waivers but Greg Maddux is probably the only one rumored anybody may want right now that I know of.

He could come back there BILL! The Dodgers waived the last 2 years of his contract. He will finish the year in L.A. then become a free agent....don't think the Dodgers will pay him what he wants...Boston is paying this year just to get rid of him.

Oh I know Bill. His interest alone could provide many in Boston with healthcare ... As much as I love the game, the salaries sicken me, at least baseball players play most nights, not once a week like other sports... I try not to think about it...

Lost the last one to the Braves

The Phillies are coming to town this weekend. It's going to be a hot and steamy series.

Well crud a 2-1 loss to the poison

Puts us 2 games back now, need to get the next 3 in order to send them outta town in 2nd place!

I really think this MANNY thing will be good for us the rest of this season. We really have nothing to lose except the 2 players we sent in the trade, one was single A and Andy LaRoche had his chances here, he just didn't get it done. I mean, we don't even have to pay the guy! How cool is that!

But MANNY being MANNY could just backfire on us!

Enjoy your games today

Today a local report on Jason Bay said that he's played only once or twice at Fenway.. "But he remembers Sweet Caroline in the 8th inning".....

There is a local report here that when Manny left his hotel/condo this am for LA, there were fans outside. One young kid and his dad asked him and he said "No thanks Man"...
Wow Manny, way to leave a legacy... that was the nail in the coffin for me...

My son and daughter in law and a group of friends, daughter and son in law, nephew and his buddy are all down at the Padre vs. Giants game...a rare day when I root for the Padres! It's 1-1, I am watching it on TV and just put MANNY WATCH up on the computer!

Manny was real polite at the press conference today. Saw the ESPN stuff from the Res Sox...boy was everyone happy to see him go! I just hope for us that he goes out to prove something! I seriously doubt he will be here after the season.

MY ANGELS are really looking good! Maybe I'll pay more attention to them

SWEET-C and BILL another long one for you tonight (still in the 12th as I post)

PENCHICK can't win 'em all...anytime Gagne bombs now is fine with me!

BIG BIRD Looking good in the 9th

RAZZ you're gonna have to come up big in the 9th!

DIANE another big finish?

Glad to see JUNIOR get on with the WHITE SOX...maybe he can help them into the play-offs....a good guy!

GOOD LUCK GALS!

Got the first one against the Phillies

Penchick glad to see Gagne get thrown out for that pitch. I still love Jimmy Edmonds even though he's wearing a Cubs shirt. I was so ticked off when the Cards let him go.

Perhaps a little drama was needed, LOL, as if we hadn't had enough this week.

Boy, was Fenway Park the place to be last night. We seem to have adjusted pretty quickly.

I passed by a grade school yesterday. Saw a young boy in a RAMIREZ official Red Sox Jersey. Ouch. Those aren't cheap. They should provide an inexpensive swap or something for young kids - at least He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named should refund his royalty, LOL.

Ahh a lousy loss to the Astros last night. My guys had the bases loaded and 0 out in a tie game and couldn't score. And then a couple innings later our bullpen implodes and we lose 7-3.

Much thanks to the Cards for beating the Philthy Phillies. And the Rockies for beating the stinky Fish. Hopefully you guys can do that again tonight.

Good to see Bay have a good first game with the Sox. I saw some story where the Sox ownership met with players and they all said they really didn't think they'd be able to count on Manny the rest of the season, so they felt they needed to make a move. Hopefully it works out. (Though I sort of wish my team could have ended up with Manny or Bay Oh well)
