After reading the Los Angeles Times this morning and watching the sports news, I am pretty sure that management has begun to prepare a place on the retired number wall for MANNY....right next to other DODGER GREATS like...

JACKIE ~ SANDY ~ DON ~ other DON ~ ROY ~ WALT ~ TOMMY ~ JIM~ DUKE ~ PEE WEE...

ahhh....to be a celebrity in L.A....

how fast it can turn

Thumbs up Off to the game

I'm late. I'm late. Gotta run. Got tickets. YAY !!!!!

Thanks for the send off Gary. Gotta say that sending Manny away for behavior problems does remind me a little bit of sending Babe Ruth away. But, that's just a fleeting negative thought.

Onward to Bay Watch.

Will think of you in the eighth inning Caroline, assuming, that the "thunderstorm" predicted in this morning's Boston Globe doesn't arrive and force me to admit I'm too much of a wimp to sit through a down pour for the good of the home team.

Razz, I saw the highlight of the two Astros sliding into home, too; that was interesting! ha ha... Hopefully your catcher didn't get hurt in the pileup.

Ezmoney- should I say congrats or condolences on the Manny aquisition?? Actually, I know he'll be a big boost for the Dodgers. My husband is just glad he's in the NL now so he doesn't have to see him play any more. He's not alone, there are a lot of AL pitchers so HAPPY to not have to face him in their league!!

Hopefully our guys will win the series against NY today. We've really been on a roll. Looking forward to the post season!! Any Braves fans out there? You got one of my favorite Angels in the Texiera trade- Casey Kotchman! I hope he plays well for you guys; I'll miss him. In fact, I just got a Kotchman jersey about a month ago... figures... I think we got a pretty good score out of the deal, though, looking at Texiera's stats. We can definitely use another power hitter.

So after a loss last night I am hoping the Twins can bring it this game and win today!

Also I am wondering if Manny isn't pulling a Randy Moss, the whole 'I play when I wanna play' kinda thing. I think he will do great things for the Dodgers if they cater to his ego. That's my opinion on Manny although I don't follow him too much! lol I know it's an uneducated bias opinion.

I had only seen the highlight of the two sliding into home and what the deuce? That makes a cool clip for a highlight reel, but hopefully no injuries, I agree with goofgirl.

Yeah, it was a crazy play right?? Our catcher sprained his ankle he's "day to day" for now. I remember in 2006 when things were going good, we had a wacky play at the plate like that against EZ's guys and we ended up getting their 2 guys out at the plate one right after the other....now a while we are struggling a similar play happens, and they end up both safe. Oh how the mighty have fallen . Amazing how when a team is struggling all the close/crazy plays seem to go against them.

Anyway, hopefully we can at least salvage this series with a win today. Then we go home to face the Padres, who swept us 4 gms earlier in the yr.

I see that on his first day in Dodger Blue, Manny already proclaimed that he wants to spend the rest of his career there. Haha, only Manny

Anyway I hope that (Long) explanation helps and isn't too confusing and I hope the Yankees never actually do go in front of the Sox

Thank you RAZZ... I had to read it a couple of times, (my, all me) but it makes sense... Thank you so much... I'm learning more and more... love it..

Thumbs up Red Sox 5 Oakland 2

Just got home from Fenway Park. Nice game with fierce sun at points and a rain delay for a thunderstorm. However, Red Sox won and Dirty Water was played at the end - as is the tradition on winning games.

SweetCaroline - That was me standing while Sweet Caroline was played in the eighth inning holding the MANNY WHO? sign. Maybe in a few games we'll get over He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and get on with baseball. Jason Bay was cheered for anything he did. DW asked me how long he gets for a honeymoon, LOL.

Gotta go look for Gary's play with two men coming home.

Oh goodness another day another loss to the cruddy Astros. 4-0 Yeek. A 1-5 roadtrip is not good!!

Of course we don't make any deadline moves when we wanted to get a reliever and OFer, and then the next few days we lose b/c of cruddy jobs by the bullpen and the offense. Meanwhile all the OFers that did move Nady, Bay, Manny are all doing great....you know the media is having a field day with that stuff.

And one of our starting pitchers was just put on the DL, our closer is now hurt, and one of our catchers just got hurt. Good times.

Hopefully a day off and some home cookin' will heal the ills. A nice win by the Redbirds tonight would also help. Go St Louie!

I am watching the game just now on ESPN. I hate listening to their commentators. Thank goodness the games are not on there very often.

We're up at the moment 2-1 fingers crossed for the rest of the game.

OH, totally agree about the network commentators, its Miller and Morgan on ESPN I think... I can't stand the Fox games with Joe Buck... I always feel like they are saying negative stuff against my team... I've turned the sound on TV off and put on the radio broadcast...you might want to try that .....

Angie is down here with me, can't watch the game...wink. She's real good about me watching sports but after NASCAR ~ the Padres on TV and the DODGERS on the computer...she has had enough.

So no CARDINALS for me tonight.

I don't mind MILLER or BUCK...but the worst announcer of all time as far as I am concerned is..

"I WILL REPEAT EVERYTHING OVER AND OVER AND OVER MORGAN!"

I am spoiled with Vin Scully!

Our new first basement Mark Texiara was nice enough to hit a grand slam and we STILL managed to lose to the Yankees today! Snarl-snarl...
