Oh don't I know all about being the low man on the totem pole! I spent many many years as a store manager right out of high school making really good money with awesome insurance until I had my 3rd child when I decided that I wanted to be home with them and DH was making awesome money. Spent just a measely 5 years home and had to go back to help out as our situation changed financially and WHOA what a shock! Sure, I coulda plopped my kids in day care all day long to work 9 hours a day to manage again but I wasn't gonna do it. Fast forward to now and I STILL refuse to do anything like that and my kids are 11,13, & 15!!!! They could take the bus home from school, but something in me just won't let that happen. So, again, I always settle for measely part-time gigs that pay crap because I DO make the decision to want to be there for my kids at after school time. It just really sucks because I am more qualified than some of the clowns running the joints I work in, and they haven't the slightest idea how to run things. Oh well, I guess it's the price I pay for my decision and all......I wouldn't be working at all, and I don't *really* need to, it's just that I really like helping dh out when it comes to supplementing the kids activities, clothes, etc.... Right now, I'm just lookin for a new job! LOL Sorry, can't promise I won't slug anyone, one mgr comes to mind at the moment as she was talkin smack about me and she doesn't even know me!

This month has been/is being a bit crazy. It seems like we have something going on every single day. We just finished our revival at church, and an old friend of Dad's stayed with us over the weekend, and conducted our Sunday service. Tomorrow my Grandma is coming to stay with us for 3-4 days while Mom & Dad go to Nashville for a couple of days. Then, immediately after they get back, the entire family (except for me) is leaving for Florida to visit my sister Angie, whose in Orlando on a college mission trip. I'm a little disappointed that I can't go (work stinks, you know) but it will be nice to wind down a bit. Then when they get back, Dad's friend will be back to do another service, Angie will be coming home, and her and I will be leaving for the HSA reunion. So, if it seems like I've been ignoring you guys, please forgive me. After this month is over, I should be able to keep up better.

Keep up the good work!!
Well, it sounds like you have quite the month ahead of you! It's good to be busy tho, and with family, it's even better! Enjoy your time!!!

What is a beauty product you have in your household that is a MUST have? Cant live without it...or at least wouldnt want to.

Mine is moisturizer for my face. My skin is so dry I think I'd go batty if I couldnt put something on my face to relieve it every morning.

I actually have 2. My bare minerals make-up & my flat iron.

My weight is slowly coming back down and I'm going to make this week count and get under 220 again!!
Have a great time at the lake with the kiddos!!!

I am sad it is Monday and I am glad it is Monday.
Sad because I had to work but glad because I did my Week 3 Day 1 of the Pushup Challenge and while it hurt (A LOT) I'm really excited because if you add the five sets of pushups together, I did 100 pushups today!
Of course, my back, shoulders and arms are going to be a misery by tonight but hey, I did it!

Everyone seems crazy busy this week! Hopefully everything goes well for all!
Awesome job on all those push ups! I don't think I can even do 1!!!

Anywho, off to the gym and then errands & more errands. Have a fantastic day everyone!!!!

Be good to you~

Cathy – congrats on the weight loss! Moving always takes so much energy! I’ll have to pick up a copy of Ali’s Woman’s World! I can’t even imagine exercising for 8 hours a day on a consistent basis.

Shelby – glad you enjoyed camping! Hiking sounds like so much fun…I miss the little hiking park around where I grew up!

Toni – Congrats on your loss as well! It’s amazing what staying on plan can do….you’d think I’d learn that by now. Here’s to your momentum!

Jay – enjoy your vacation. It sounds amazing!

Monte – I hope things settle down for you! Don’t forget to take care of yourself while you’re at it!

Heather – Enjoy Vegas! I’ve never been there either. What show are you going to?

Emily – Enjoy the lake! I added you to my yahoo.

Chicki – I was just talking about this today with a co-worker…I look like I don’t have eyelashes if I don’t have any mascara on!

Lonnie – Hey girl! Are you feeling any better today?

Kelly – way to go on the 100 push up! I really need to get started with the push up challenge!

Roni – Way to go on getting the exercises in! Muscle dude was your little reward for making it to the gym! Congrats on the push ups! Is this the first week of your pushup challenge? Cause I haven’t started yet and really need to. We could be push up buddies if you’re starting this week. I am really gonna try to do it.

Danielle – congrats on the 4 pounds! I bet that feels great!

Melissa – how’s everything going? I’ve been thinking about ya!

I'm a girlie girl but low maintenance...is that possible? So many good suggestions, ladies! I look like I have no eyelashes if I don't have on mascara! Years ago, I used to not wear it at all until a friend didn't wear it one day. I was amazed at how different she looked...and not in a good way. I have worn it ever since!

Close seconds are moisturizer and my bare minerals makeup. And I always try to wear my scented body spray....in fruity scents. I can't do anything florally or perfumy or else I'm sneezing all day!

Hi Girls -

Sorry for the slight gain this week but I have a good reason... this weekend way my first Triathalon! I'm going to work on a long post to post somewhere on 3fatchicks in another day or two. But the rundown is...

It was a beautiful day and everything went really smooth.

Overall Rank - 1184 out of 3650 total people

Class Rank - 155 of 370 for my age group 30-34

Swim - 19:50

Swim Rank - 2221 out of 3650 total people

Bike - 39:45

Bike Rank - 190 out of 3650 total people (190? Holy crap!!!)

MPH - 18.7 on Bike

Run - 35:48

Run Rank - 2227

Pace - 11:33 per mile (That's just over 5.25 mph)

Final Time - 1:42:09

I had so much fun! I'm a triathlete now! Woot!

Now I need to work off those carbs I loaded on before the race... retaining some water because of it.

How is it you get me to do things that have fallen between the cracks? I can't remember what the last thing was but I remember there was something. I will do my best to start tonight!

Edited to add: I'm doing my initial test tonight so I may be a couple of days behind.

What is a beauty product you have in your household that is a MUST have? Cant live without it...or at least wouldnt want to.

Mine would be my Lubriderm Daily Moisturizer with SPF15. Every day - 365 days a year. Skin cancer runs in my family and all of my sunburns as a child don't help matters. They didn't have protective products when I was growing up.

Looks like most folk are posting a loss, and those that aren't are committed and focused this week.

We are gonna finish this challenge strong and IN CONTROL!

Hope everyone has a GREAT week!

Karen, YUP it feels awesome to lose like that!! I've been very patient for it however so I totally feel I deserved it. lol Working my @$$ off literally at the gym is paying off, my workout clothes are now becoming too baggy that it's impeding my workouts for one thing, the other its just plain uncomfortable! DH says he can tell a big difference already so that makes me feel fantastic! Little things like this are what keep me flyin' high! Oh, and also, got my new trainer assigned and lemme just tell ya, he's a real cutie patootie!!!

Muse, you are one AWESOME chick!! Your results are fantastic on so many levels! Really goes to show that you can do whatever you set your mind out to do! WTG!!!

On a bummer note, I just found out this afternoon that an old high school friend of mine is dying from cancer. She does not have much longer to live & is leaving behind a 5 yr old son. Her brother and his new wife have agreed to adopt Tyler (she was single) so he will not be left with strangers. I am just so saddened, she was a great girl always the life of the party. She was the ONLY one after many many years estranged from this group of girls who reached out to me and had really wanted to reconnect. Just a sad sad day....
