Pokey: I looked into a BodyBugg a while ago. They look so cool. Let us know how it works!
Sarge: Nice on that mile! WHoop!
Jeanettey: Like the article. Good to keep in mind.
So, I had one of the worst days I have in a long time. No excuses for what I ate, but I went straight back to the old ways I used to eat under stress (Sarge, INSERT kick in the butt here). So, I am 900 calories over what I am supposed to eat (1600 to lose 1.5 a week-usually eat about 1500). Alright. Mess up-will eat better tomorrow. However, there is a successful part of the day. Before I went to my 2nd job, I texted the DH and told him we should go out for ice cream and I was skipping my workout, but after work I thought. What am I doing???? NO ice cream here and did a longer more intense workout than normal. It didn;t make up for my bad eating, but at least I am showing that food is not the boss of me.
TDS - DONE
Treadmill work out - DONE
Run at least 1/2 mile - DONE TO THE MAX. I Ran 17 Minutes! I pushed to my max, even after the TDS! It was 3 mph but I DID IT. I walked only 3 minutes for my cool down.. I managed close to a mile, much more then the 1/2 mile I challenged myself and I did it! (Boy am I sweaty and kinda stinky.)
It's Thursday Morning, do you know how you are going to burn the butt-er today?
Sarge-Great job on the mile and not flinging yourself off the treadmill! Whoo, under a 8 minute mile, very impressive!
k2-Great job kicking some butt-er!! Took that 1/2 mile down and then some.
Goobster-I'm glad my morning messages are happily received. It helps me as well to get on and get motivated for the day.
I do have a size 4 pair of pants that I can fit into and actually love. But just the one. I have some junk in the trunk and some juicy thighs. LOL. My thighs are one size, my waist is another. So pants can be interesting. But such as life. I know how to work it. HAHA.
The second nomination in Motivational Poster Wars today is...
IAmerican--That's right, food is not the boss of you, SARGE IS!!!! Another week or two in the platoon there won't be any waffling about whether to eat something extra or skipping a workout, an inner Sarge will start SCREAMING in your head and you'll either do what you're supposed to do or wind up with a huge migraine!
K2 -- WTG on that run! Little by little, one step at a time and soon you'll find yourself signed up for a 5K!
Chesh--While we all love the way you start off our day, I've been feeling sorry for you having to be back in the classroom! It just seems like you had to go back so early this year. Hope you've got a great group of kids and at least one class clown!
Just checking in and logging my mid week challenge. I couldn't find any of it on Fitocracy though so I didn't add it in for last night's workout.
Bridge Arch: 50 (25 each side)
Glute jumps 25
Butt Lifts 50
Donkey kicks 50 (25 each side)
Glute drops 25 (5 lb weights)
Glute curls 50 (25 each side)
Weighted squats 25
Mtn climbers 50 (25 each side)
Crazy challenge, certainly kicked some butt-er~
Still not sleeping well, can't really figure out what's wrong, I've been a bit out of it but haven't changed anything in my routine.
Hope everyone is doing well. Keep listening to the inner Sarge. We are here to get healthy and make it to our goal the right way.
Whenever I'm offered something I know is not healthy for me I think 'Sarge would so kick my butt-er for even considering that."
Welcome Sunkissed! We'll look for your pledge on Sunday!
K3 - You're probably not sleeping well, like many of us here, because your body is still readjusting to new, and rather intense, levels of activity. Intense exercise can mess with sleep. Also, check Sarge's fitocracy posting yesterday...dumbbell squats, glute raises, and a few other substitutes for Jeanettey challenge are worth points! WE MUST KEEP HARDCORE CHICK at bay! She posted, "the enemy has entered the camp!" We must "solution" her!
RMC - I have a bodymedia fit and I used to use a Heart Rate Monitor. I enjoyed my HRM, it was great to wear while working out. I loved being able to see how many cals you are burning while doing any exercise. I used it last summer while starting c25k. I was inspired by the data it was giving me. Then my last semester in the classroom came along with winter and I stopped working out. In Jan I found out about the bmf and bodybuggs...I knew I would be even more inspired by the data I would get from them. I was getting ready to start student teaching and had been promised it would be one of the most stressful periods of my life from my professors. I decided to help keep me from gaining any more of the weight I had lost I would treat myself to a bmf and it worked...it was a great visual to see how much I was burning each day, even though at that time I was not actively ccing. It helped me make better choices...usually. This summer I started ccing and jogging again and the results have been great. With out the BMF I still would have had great results, but for me it has been a great motivational tool.
Pokey - We can compare notes from the bodybugg to the bodymedia fit. I have a feeling you burn WAY more cals in a day than I do. My personal average is 2769 cals burned daily, 1477 cals consumed daily, net deficit 1292. I average 1hr 30 min of physical activity, but that is not just jogging or intentionally working out it includes stuff like carrying the laundry upstairs, unloading groceries, getting two 6 year olds dressed in their hockey uniforms...etc.
MadamB and Chesh - size 4 pants....I wore that size once, when I was at my goal weight. I did not work out at all then, so this time around I will be a lot fitter at that weight. Now I am day dreaming about size 4's. I checked my waist and hip size against the Kohl’s size charts online and had to laugh...my hips are a size 12 and my waist is a size 18! No wonder I always feel like pants are so tight at the waist or are WAY to big in the hips and thighs.
iamerican - this is where my old heart rate monitor and now the bodymedia fit helped me the most. I know exactly how many calories I burned on each work out. So I can compare eating any unhealthy food or beverage choice to a work out. This comparison really helps me decide if the cals of given food is worth the true cost of burning those same cals. Sometimes having the treat, glass of wine, etc is worth it. Many more times I decide it is not worth it.
Sarge - I have to laugh at her post...the enemy...no one that is keeping the motivation levels up that high can truely be an enemy. I am enjoying the back and forth banter, I can not jog enough in a day to keep up with most of you all though.
K3 - I am having sleep difficulty too. I used to drink coffee as late as 3pm, but now I am going to push that back to 1 or 2.
Oh, Jeanettey: LOVE THAT WIGGLING SMILEY BUTT . . . OH MUST TRY TO SAVE THAT ONE
Lots to do today
Loving the posters
Cheshire: I don't have so much issues with the thighs, but I have a thick waist. It looks like we are about the same weight and headed to the same destination, but I don't know how tall you are?? Oh and I only had 1 Size 4's for a while and now my 8's are getting a bit baggy in the BUTT-er . . .
Spanky; Hang on because I may be in the lead for BUTT-ER BURNERS right now BUTT I'm doing it again tomorrow . . . so you're really going to have to BURN THAT BUTT-ER!!

Haven't been able to make myself go to the gym the last two days, but I am going back tonight. Haven't had much of an appetite so no problem with binging. Now to focus my energy into ME!!!
