Josey -- when I started working out a lot harder, my weight loss stalled some, and then after about 2.5-3 weeks, it started coming off again. It definitely takes a while for your body to adjust, but that shouldn't discourage you. If your ankle was seriously aching, I think it is good that you stopped running. You've been really ramping up the running lately. But at this point you can either give up and gain weight back or keep going and know you're getting healthier. No brainer, there. Keep with it. You're one of my key motivators, and I hate to see you struggle.
The Hump day (mid-week) challenge can be done any time not just Wednesday. If you don't want to use the balance ball or don't have one, like me, you can do the mountainclimbers off a couch or whatever. I am not black and white. I definitely live in shades of gray. Enjoy burnin those butt-ers.
KittyKat - Really sorry to read that. Like Sarge said, draw on this experience for motivation to keep at it, work hard and show him what he's missing out on. Strong emotion is amazing fuel for workouts!
Josey - Get rid of the scale! If your body is giving you pain or aches from your workouts, change things up for a few days to rest what ails you. This journey is not just about that number on the scale, but about becoming healthy, strong and fit. Who cares what number shows up in the morning when you can go out and run further and faster than you've ever run before??!?
I'm going to be frank for a moment here. Please realize this isn't directed at any one person.
I'm tired of reading posts obsessing and worrying about the smallest differences in the numbers on the scale. Seriously, there is no way that your body made and stored 3 or 4 pounds of extra fat (for example) in a few days. Our weight fluctuates daily and there are so many reasons why that happens. I realize that the number on the scale is a big motivator and measurement of success for so many of us, but if it is your only measure of success then I think you're losing sight of the bigger picture.
If you truly want to change your life and be the healthiest and strongest person you can be, you need to focus on a whole gamut of things - fitness, weight, body composition, nutrition, sleep, hydration, stress management, lifestyle choices, body image, motivation, etc. If you're not measuring and addressing these things now, then devote some of that "scale energy" into these areas.
Do you commonly share your weight and ask for other people's weight in real life? Does it have an impact on your opinion of another person? Would you find Reso any less inspirational and motivational if you knew that the scale was showing him up 5 lbs this morning?? (Sorry Reso, just needed an example there! Not saying it's true!) I'm guessing not. You look at what kind of person they are, how they live their life and what they can achieve.
Like I said, I know that our body weight is a huge factor in motivation and measuring success. I haven't forgotten that I'm posting on a weight loss forum! But please, for the love of all things holy, stop obsessing over the scale. Weigh yourself, record the result, and then keep on living the healthy and active kick butt lifestyle we're all living right now.
Kitty - Yes, BOXING. Find a boxing class nearby and start taking it. Not only is the boxing itself a great way to burn off aggression, but it's a fantastic workout that'll trim you down in no time.
Jeanettey - This workout incorporates a lot of what I do at the boxing gym and my Brazilian Butt Classes!!! Excellent!
Work yesterday was a little slow so I got a little slow. Woke up this morning to 192 again. No big deal. I was noticing last night that my legs are looking like legs and nice ones at that. They don't look like squashed sausages coming out of my shorts.
Thanks everybody. I do feel better already. I will watch my ankle and see how the running goes on Thursday. I sure don't want to insure it.
@MadamB & K3 - LOL! Thanks! I love Calvin!
Peanutt - I know that the numbers are secondary but it is still a weight loss forum/thread/action I am doing here. And it is discouraging when the scales goes up after working so hard on bringing it down. Also, nobody can say if it really is muscles gain and not some screw up. I will give it some time and keep working out but it is sure getting harder to stay motivated. I wish working out more would show on the scale because I need motivation to keep going. The scale was a huge motivator and that's what kept me on plan so far.
josey - Have you set some specific and measurable fitness goals? The Fitocracy quests look like they would serve really well for that. I have a huge list of diverse goals. If my weight loss isn't stellar one week, I can usually tick off a goal from another category to get that motivation that achievement provides.

I am not worried about fitness goals. I am bridging to 10k so there is a goal behind it (running for an hour straight not so much the 10k though). And with weights and 30DS I guess you can tell quickly how much you progress.
I do see progress there. Finishing C25K was a major one and I still can't believe I did.
I am also measuring but inches come off very slow. So I only measure every 4 weeks.
Thanks Iamerican! Like Sarge says in the first post of every new thread, don't hang around this platoon if you don't have a sense of humor. There is far too much depression associated with our various weight goals and Sarge really enjoys having this thread for a laugh or two each day...wouldn't keep maintaining the thread if not for some of the extremely witty troops and the chuckles!
Back to the gym for Sarge...HARDCORE CHICK, I know you're lurking...YOU WILL NOT PASS SARGE THIS WEEK! I have a special surprise posting just for you later on...you and your curiosity killed the cat...
