I usually let them prattle on to themselves, especially if they ring when the bath's running!!

Yes, we get fed up of that sort of call at work, the "can I speak to the marketing man" or "can you put me through to the person who handles the billing" we usually just tell them we're a charity and they go away.

I just want to know how they have this psychic ability to phone just as I'm dishing up dinner or when DH and I are getting up close and personal!

We got most of the phone calls stopped by registering with the Telephone Preference Service it takes about a month to kick in but the only marketing calls we get now are from outside of the UK. You can do it with junk mail as well using the same link and - to a lesser extent - with email.

Now I need to find out how to get religious weirdos or cold callers from knocking at the front door.

I'm on TPS, and only get the occasional religious nutter, so I'm not doing too bad.

I'm pretty much packed now, I've got to get to work a bit early tomorrow and work through lunch so I can get away in time for my flight, but then I'll be on my way

I had a client meeting/lunch in rugby today, but didn't eat too badly. I was impressed that instead of biscuits on the table in their meeting room they had a huge bowl of apples, I wish they did that where I work!

Good luck to everyone running at the weekend!

I thought I ought to stop being a wuss and stop being scared of the scales - so I weighed myself this morning - only a 3lb gain on my pre-holiday / pre-domestic crisis weight! Phew!!!! Nowhere near as bad as I thought. At least I'm back in my size 16 jeans again.
I'm off swimming today with a friend although I'm not looking forward to cycling there in this thick fog.

It was an interesting walk this morning - I couldn't see beyond 15 feet so I had to keep to one straight raised track which goes straight across the boggiest part of the Moor so I could find my way back (instead of doing a large circuit). At 1hr 15 mins I turned the dogs back to follow our footsteps home and George & Fred started rushing around very excited and when I looked at the floor I saw lots of deer hoof prints criss-crossing where we'd walked just minutes before. It looked like two or three had been quietly following us and had run off when we doubled back.

I missed all the excitement last Sunday (when we went to the farmers' market). I found out today that the Mountain Rescue people (with helicopter and dogs) had to come and search for the slightly daft woman who lives at the other end of my road. She let her little fat Jack Russell dog out in to her garden to 'do its business' at bedtime and the dog dug its way out of her garden and ran off on to the Moor. Like an idiot she followed it, got lost and spent the whole night on the Moor wandering around falling in bogs and pools - apprently she was in a right state when they found her. The silliest thing is that the blummin dog came back on his own and spent the entire night whining loudly in the garden - which was why her neighbours checked up on her then raised the alarm in the early hours of Sunday morning. I miss all the fun!

That story made me laugh, poor little old lady.

My cell phone carrier called me the other day to "offer me better service". Basically they said we will give you fewer minutes for the same money but we will give you another phone to use. I am one person, I don't need another phone. She couldn't quite grasp that.

I politely asked the woman who spoke very little English, why that would be better for me. I was being nice and kind of playing around but she hung up on me, I swear they call me once a week.

Hello everyone

Good luck runners.

Sarah what a result that 3lbs will be off in no time. It could have been a whole lot worse.

I am feeling much better today my period arrived so automatically my urge to eat like there is no tomorrow just goes. I too had the courage to go on the scales this morning they said nine stone 11 pounds and a bit two pounds of that is probably me being swollen she says hoping!!

It is the most glorious day. I have a pile of stuff to do in the house but I shall leave it until just before hubby comes home and do the quick Friday tidy.
I intend laying on my sofa reading my magazine Closer which is full of rubbish but I wanted to read about Michelle McManus remember the Xfactor girl who has lost ten stone she says, but not before I have made a fried egg sarnie with the most wonderful granary loaf.

Have a lovely day everyone

Michele

2 hours to go til I head off

Why is it though that the day I want to leave early is the day when I seem to get loads of work flying towards me from all directions. It won't stop me leaving though, I have a plane to catch!
