Sakai: I had my first one EVER during pregnancy (though I think I have actually had one before but never really treated it). It's better to talk to your dr instead of using OTC creams because I don't know that all of them are safe for adorable preggo women like ourselves. I actually went to the ER because I had cramping AND the yeast infection symptoms, but I thought it meant something bad. No, just meant I had a yeast infection and that I also happened to have stomach cramps really bad that day.
FINALLY get my ultrasound tomorrow! Taking my friend and her son to the doctor then bringing them both with me to the ultrasound Everyone will probably think he's mine (because he looks a lot like me... and he loves DF soooo much! LOL)
I am very excited for Thursday since we're going in for our 20 week ultrasound and get to find out the gender. I'm such a curious person, I like to know.
Yay for ultrasounds!!! I'm excited for y'all! And fingers crossed that you get answers on the gender, Racrane! My little one didn't cooperate AT ALL, and will therefore be grounded from birth
So I'm 33 weeks today. Kinda crazy. I was just walking through the house yesterday and thinking, and it hit me...in theory, I could have a baby sometime this month!! I'm just so very blessed and happy that I've been free (so far) of the complications other women in a May Due Date Club I'm part of online have had. So many of them are on bed rest, or have had MASSIVE braxton hicks contractions and bleeding. Three are in serious danger of having premies in the next few weeks. It's been a boring pregnancy for me so far....and fingers crossed that my lack of excitement continues!
Mindi: I hope that the lack of excitement continues for your pregnancy too ;-)
Racrane: OMGGGGGGGGG that is exciting! Everyone keeps asking gender/name(s) and we keep smiling and saying we won't know the gender until after the baby is delivered, and that we will announce the name of the child upon birth! I can tell people who are very detail oriented and people who are very need-to-know and people who plan well just by the reason(s) they give for wanting to know the baby's gender
Announced on FB (on April Fools Day!) that I was having a baby. No one believed me until my aunt congratulated me. Then people were wondering if she was in on some elaborate hoax... Re-announced on Monday, and then people were pretty much taking bets on if I was trying to extend the joke. Today, I posted ultrasound pictures to quiet the haters
Ultrasound today was AWESOME! Seems like the baby is perfectly content still being shy! He/she likes to lay with its spine and butt on my back. Which is funny, because that's how I lay next to DF at night. ;-) Did get some hilarious pictures though, one where you can see the entire skull very well (we call it "Skeletor") and another one (which they didn't capture) where she/he is on the side with her/his mouth open like a velociraptor. WISH they could have gotten a pic of that! The ultrasound tech was funny because she explained EVERY MEASUREMENT IN DETAIL! Like I said, some people are detail oriented, she is or she caters to those who are. Talked to the doctor about 95% in Spanish (which was cool, didn't know if he knew it but completely blew me away! AND he was teaching his resident Spanish at the SAME TIME!) and even though the nurse (and previous doctor) thought I was about 22 weeks, ultrasound measurements lend themselves more toward 19 weeks. WOOT! (I guessed I wasn't as far along as 22, I get excited when I know as much as/more than medical professionals whose supervision I am under!) In the not-so-fun news, I got rid of the double ear infection but picked up a bladder infection. I think I know everyone at the pharmacy now!
Also my friend and I (and her 1 year old son, who is SO CUTE!) met some super adorable pregnant girls at the ultrasound office today. One super cute couple who went in right after I did, momma is about my age and she's 28 weeks. Her and her hubby came out of our room right before I did and he had a pocket full of ultrasound pictures! He showed us about 1/3 of them and then gushed about having a little girl! I love it when super macho guys have babies and then get all cute and misty eyed ;-) Makes me excited to go to new parent/birthing classes and meet more adorable couples! DF will be so mellow but I know he's secretly excited. Held our friends' one-week-old baby yesterday (he and I both) and DF was smiling ear to ear :-) :-) :-) :-)
Here's a question for everyone... when the babies start being born, can/will we post pictures of our little ones? (Hope it's okay to post an ultrasound pic!)

Reason: picture was too big, couldn't resize. hyperlink was broken. DARN YOU BB CODE
I'm getting the yeast infection under control (hopefully)
I'm also starting to get nervious about labor. I mean before I was just scared and then got over it. But now it's starting to come back as this belly of mine gets bigger and bigger. "Just how is she supposed to come out??" Everyone keeps asking me if I'm getting nervious yet and I think that alone is what's making me nervious.
Though at the moment I'm more nervious about getting my cavity filled later on this month. Somedays I'm fine, I'm about to have a baby, it can't be so bad... other days I'm like "omg I don't want a shot in the mouth, I don't wanna go!" I'm such a wuss when it comes to needles. -.-; I hope they use that numbing gel before they give me the shot.
I'm a big baby at the dentist too, Sakai. Like to the point where if it's anything more extensive than a check-up, cleaning or minor filling they have to sedate me. I had to have a filling during my second trimester, and I'm sure I'll have to have some more after my next check up. My teeth SUCK even though I take obsessive care of them.
Sakai: I'm terrible at the dentist, too. I whimper at the slightest thing and I'm sure the dentist thinks I'm a complete wimp. My boyfriend's mother also told me her personal labour horror story about how she almost died giving birth to his oldest sister. I really didn't want to hear that because now I'm so worried about labour! Anyway, I suppose all we can do is try to focus on giving birth to a healthy baby and letting the rest take care of itself.
Thanks Bianca. I love ultrasounds, too. I'm glad you had a good experience! I'm so excited for tomorrow, I can't concentrate on today. I'm thinking of drinking a little soda (no more than half a can?) for tomorrow. The baby is always really quiet in the morning and last time the woman had to poke my belly for 30 minutes to get the baby to wake up and move. I'm hoping the baby will be awake.
(Is it odd that I'm already starting to pick up the baby's movement patterns? Baby is quiet until 2 in the afternoon then I feel random pokes and jabs until 6. Then quiet until midnight. Is that normal?)
Racrane- its not unusual to be aware of the patterns of baby but they may not be consistent either. Baby boy didn't really start kicking til 21 weeks and hasn't stopped since.
Bianca- i will be posting pics as well I feel like you guys are my sidekicks throughout the pregnancy so it wouldn't feel right not to share a picture! I'm glad the ultrasound went so well. That's my favorite part besides feeling movement.
I'm with all of you and I'm a baby to. I had my first cavity filled around 15 weeks and I freaked out and even "rescheduled because I was busy." Agh! Needles don't scare me but in my mouth is a whole different story. And I don't like my dentist which doesn't help but nobody is ever accepting new patients around here.
I just want to crawl in bed and sleep all day. Today sucks!
^.^ glad to see I'm not the only wimp when it comes to the dentist. I'm normally fine because it's been like 19 years from the last time I had a cavity. I'm so used to having nothing but perfect teeth. I had perfect teeth 6 months ago when I went to my last check-up. But I know pregnancy can screw with your teeth badly.
racrane- though i was near 24 weeks before i could feel the baby move, it's not until about 2-3 weeks ago. (28 weeks) that I notice a pattern. She moves everytime I eat, or kick back on the sofa or bed. She also moves lots when I'm sleeping. Which is starting to wake me up because she figures she wants to river dance while I'm trying to get some much needed Zzz's
Baby's kicks are getting much harder too. I wince, jump and yelp here and there, much to Dh's amusment. She always goes for the kidney way in the back on the right side and always when I'm eating. Right now she was kicking me in the same spot on the belly for the past hour and it was starting to hurt, like someone constantly jabbing at a bruse kind of feeling. She only just now stopped. @.@
Sorry for being so absent! It is MADNESS around here. We have houseguests from DC out for the week, work is insane, and our baby shower is this Saturday. I'm trying to think about how blessed we are, instead of being stressed about all of the people and mess.
Oh, I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Close to the end of my 33rd week. Surely he'll put me on appointments every other week? If not, then it's four weeks and I'll be 37 weeks when I see him again. I'm writing down a BIG list of questions to ask him, just in case that's the way it is. Could be the last time I see him before she comes, if she comes at 36 or 37 weeks....
Mindi- Way to be proactive!!!! Your doctor seems a bit behind. I was switched to 2 week appointments at 28 weeks and I begin weekly this week at 35, It doesn't make sense that he wouldn't switch you.
Can't sleep tonight. Woke up to baby boys head directly in my pelvis and contractions. The contractions have stopped for now but have been around more frequently. DF told me that he thinks baby boy is ready to come out because how low he is and how much pain i've been in. TMI naybe but It even hurts to have sex now- which my doctor said is probably because cervix is opened up a bit. I have no clue. Baby Shower tomorrow. Doctor appointment Monday.
