Cindi I love doing stuff like that but typically do it by myself or with our oldest son. My husband once called me "He-Man" because I do everything myself. I like to get things done, once I get in go mode I don't stop and my husband is an "I'll get to it person" The kids and I love breakfast for dinner but my husband doesn't ... interesting aren't we? Glad you're eating is OP, good job

Thanks Steph on the 25LB Pin good job on the .6, remember slow and steady wins the race

Zucena, on 30DS ... JM kills me with the push ups and then the jumping jacks. I have yet to get through the full workout, smh. When I ate lentils I had an up also. I agree that an hour is good and I have even heard 30 minutes is cool but when I get to 30 minutes I always say to myself, "you can do it just a little while longer" and it works. I will hit the gym this evening for the first time in 26 days so wish me luck that I can even do 30 minutes on the treadmill at a decent speed Since we go to the gym in the evening (when we go) it helps me not to eat again after 7-8

I am up .4 to 166.6 but I am blaming it on lack of sleep. I stayed up with my husband for a little while after he got home from work watching television. I paid for it today, I was soooo tired. I am hoping to finish this month with a weight in at 165 that will be my all time low in 4 years (well 3.5 years to be exact)

Zucena I've been doing the 30 day shred as well. I find it pretty intense but after it's done I feel really good about myself for doing it. haha

Yesterday my mom and I tried the whole "cheat meal" idea but honestly we felt really guilty about it. I guess that's a good thing though. Going to stick with a cheat day (so that we're not eating bad foods more than once a week) and try to limit the bad we eat on cheat day. If I just "go wild" I'll literally do that and I'll eat all the calories I've managed to reduce all week and more in that one day. lol I went shopping this morning and got us a ton of low carb foods, mostly veggies, and we came up with some meal ideas. We made taco salad tonight, was really good and the notorious calorie counter inside me liked the numbers there. lol

Rennie The jumping jacks KILL me. lol When she says theres no modification to this, she has 400lb people who can do them, you can too...I think...Really? you have 400lb people doing jumping jacks? HOW?! Because I think I'm being murdered after 10 seconds lol

Hi Peeps, well, I can't wait until tomorrow is over, (yeah Weekend!!!!!)

OMG!!! Have been having tons of snow with very severe temps. Have had a few ok days barely reaching temps above zero, and here we go again! The weekend ahead is of temps so low they'll freeze our pipes no matter what we do, plus 5 days of snow! On top of the other 2-3 ft of snow we still have!!! I still have to park 5 ft away from the curb as is because that is the closest the snowplow could get. And I drive a Jeep Wrangler and drive up over snow drifts and get up closer than most! Next 5 days should be interesting. Still expecting SEVERAL MORE inches of snow. Ugh!!! I 'm ready for Summer, (would say Spring but that's still frozen here!), or ready to fly to FL, CA, Hawaii or the Caribbean!

Anyway...did okay today. Came home too tired to chop all the veggies for the clam chowder, so all just had CORN (Clean Out Refrigerator Night!
Had some cheat as we had glorious Garlic Bread, (HAAA........ )

Did you hear angels singing? (Cause I did! Did I ever mention I LOVE BREAD!)

Seriously, that is my biggest thing.

Hi all of you beautiful ladies. I usually post in the morning and read the forum throughout the day, but I felt pretty awful today. Something came over me this morning, coughing, headache, fatigue. I completed my last exam for the term on Wednesday, so today, THursday, is officially my first day of school break and I have spent it in bed mostly. I still have my TOM until Saturday probably, so dealing with that, and then this thing that just came on today. Also my youngest daughter has tonsilitis, she is the one with the 9 month old baby, and I felt bad not being of much help to her today. Anyway, I wanted to make sure to come to the board, even when not feeling well, as it keeps me accountable and I like to know what is going on with you all. Will write more on Friday. Hopefully a good night's sleep tonight with shake whatever I have. It might be this lousy weather. I live in Nebraska and one day it is 55 degrees, and that same evening, it will rain and freeze overnight and snow several inches, then melt and be warm again and repeat that cycle. Today it was 9 degrees above 0 at 8am and this afternoon, I picked up the mail from the mailbox and it felt like a good 35-40 degrees. Typical. Cheers and hugs to all!

Vi, your feelings of cheat meals is how I feel. I don't even think I am capable of doing a full cheat day. Learning all too well that carbs have me, I don't have them . I have gone wild with them a true food junkie . It's funny as I was taking my son to school this morning I was just thinking about JM and her no modification and 400lb people ... now if I were them and had the possibility to to win thousands of dollars I would do them also but I'm not going to injure my knees when I can modify them I can do about 12 and then I am done, on the push ups I can barely do them but I couldn't do them when I was younger And the getting up and down constantly at this age is a chore for sure.

Steph you are funny, LOL. I hear angels with bread, chips, cake, potatoes Glad you enjoyed your cheat day Oh my goodness on the snow. I had to take one of the boys to school this morning because his but didn't come and he had been out there for 25 minutes. So glad I was home, my son was a popsicle

InCertain, the weather here is interesting compared to Virginia in my opinion. I hope you feel better soon, sorry you had to spend your first day on break in bed

Cindi, Glad you had a good day yesterday including your treat egg ... depending on how many people are on the thread it gets confusing

Jacqui, TwoTots, Pamela, Missy, dt, Gary, Joe and all that I may have missed

I am ending February with a 2.2lb loss so happy. My son made fried chicken for dinner last night and since I finally went to the gym last night I only broke a few pieces off of the thighs but I will eat two whole boneless, skinless thighs for breakfast

Have a great day everyone

Could someone explain to me what a slow carb diet is? I am trying to figure out what sort of a diet I follow... I thought I was SB, but I eat full fat items and don't do fake sugars, so SBD is out. I think I eat too many veggies for Atkins. I don't eat rice/pasta/potatoes. Would I qualify for a slow carb diet? Here is my typical day;
B - Green Tea
L - Salad w/grilled chicken, avocado, feta cheese, tomato, cucumber and vinagrette dressing
D - Grilled salmon, veggie and salad
S - String cheese, apple w/pb

Good Morning All! I have been skimming this thread...reading in detail parts that interest me. I got "The 4-hour Diet" from the library yesterday and read about the slow carb diet. I really like Jacqui's modified version better!!! I have been on Weight Watchers and lost about 24 lbs., but kind of fell off the wagon and gained 10lbs. back. I am going to give the low carb approach a try because I am hoping it will help with my hunger issues. I was always hungry on WW!! Also...I LOVE the idea of a cheat day!!! Gives you something to look forward too!!! Question: for those of you who allow cottage cheese in your diet, do you buy the full-fat or lower fat versions? I will probably have more questions as I move along. Thanks and have a great day!!!

Hey Sum check out Tim Ferriss book "The 4-Hour Body"

I believe you do eat slow carb but most of us have modified this diet so you make want to read up on it yourself. Jacqui has a lot of good information on the previous thread and she may have moved it over to this one ... either way you are doing really well. I'll have to catch up on the other thread to see your stats for February, I know you did great

Schmoopy, I use mayonnaise (actually I found that Miracle Whip type) spread is better number wise in my opinion and I prefer it in egg salad but in tuna or chicken salad I use mayonnaise. I use spray butter, olive oil, canola oil when cooking. I don't eat anything else that would need butter but when I did I used Promise Light spread. Tomatoes I like with a Greek vinaigrette dressing as a salad, same with cucumbers.

Jacqui we need you to clarify please on the modifications Miss you

Thanks so much! I have one more question: It says two glasses of red wine per day are permitted. Is a glass of wine considered 4 oz.? 6 oz? Thanks!
