Well, we got a LOT accomplished today, and I'm going to be surprised if I can even move tomorrow, lol. Cut down some bushes and moved a bunch of brush from the backyard to the front, moved old patio stones & broken concrete from the backyard to the front (which involved running up and down the front steps many times), cleaned out the garage, moved a bunch of boxes of books and etc. over to the storage unit, wiped down and repainted the baseboards, trim, and front door in the living room. Whew!! I don't usually count housework/yardwork into my calories burned on livestrong.com, but I'm absolutely sore and exhausted, so I'm definitely counting this!!
Nicole - I think it is entirely up to you whether or not to tell the center . . . if not telling will stress you out, then I would probably go ahead and tell them but I do not think that you have to tell them. I'm also glad to hear that it made you sick, I can't wait for the day that chocolate, sugary treats make me feel sick.
Boxer lady - Congrats on the weight loss. Eating outside of scheduled times can effect your weight loss. I do think both cucumbers and some apple cider vinegar are allowed on most plans - just save it for your meals.
Rzrbackcandi - Congrats on the weight loss!
Teacherlady - I would definately count that work as exercise and I could use you at my house. Hubbie opted for taking kids to the park, playing, walking and even some jogging instead of yardwork and cleaning the garage and it was a fun, exhausting day!
This morning for breakfast, our hotel had advertised "hot breakfast" (which is one reason why I picked this one) but it was oatmeal packets, waffles and danishes (to me, hot breakfast would have meant eggs or something I could have eaten OP), but I did bring a meal bar, so I had that.
We had lunch at a Mexican place...and I ate a couple stuffed jalepenos (stuffed with chicken and cheddar...they were breaded and fried, but I took the batter off the outside), a chicken chili relleno that was grilled, and a salad. I had a couple chips and salsa, but I took my fat and carb blocker so it was ok.
For dinner, we were at the Cowboy's stadium for a dirt bike race, and all they had was concession food. I walked all over looked for a salad or something, and a side salad was like $8! I just couldn't pay that...so hubby and I shared a fish sandwhich. I know the bread wasn't good for me, but I only hate half of it....
I did what I could. I'm sure half a bun won't be too awful for me. Made the best decisions I could....can't beat myself up about it.
We are meeting friends for lunch tomorrow, but I've looked at the menu online and picked out my OP option, so I'm ready for that!
Welcome April! I have been running non stop since last week and I'm still going!
I didn't do so well at the retirement dinner - although Wil Jenny's restaurant did an AWESOME job accommodating my needs - I had steak & asparagus and a nibble of the mashed potatoes .. they offered to double the asparagus, but UH .. omg mashed potatoes!!! Where I REALLY blew it was dessert. The fruit wasn't cutting it and so they made me a small portion of bread pudding .. it was very good, the best I've ever had! It would have been a nice cheat had I not been STUFFED out of my mind already. This was the night before weigh in .. so obviously at weigh in I didn't do so great at losing .5 lb.
I did really well at my Uncle's funeral - ate ZERO. Actually took my mom - who has to eat gluten free foods to First Watch - they have a GF menu for her. I had them customize a turkey sandwich to fit the plan - it was a bit hilarious, but great! I didn't even finish it all.
Also I won second place for the March contest - someone must have come in on Thursday and lost more than 10 lbs - because I was way ahead of everyone! Still got $50 in meta bucks, so I'm happy!
April fools on me this whole weekend .. played by my scale! I am showing a whole 10 lbs lighter than I was at Thursday's weigh in. I am hoping my brand new scale is not already broken, but I am not giving any thought to it until I weigh in tomorrow morning! That's my update, hopefully I will be more on track this week!
I've never been one to try new things.. however, today I had a turkey patty for lunch. I was really weirded out by the texture when I was making the patty and almost threw it out.. but it made it to the pan. Of couse, it had a ton of spices I really like the Mrs. Dash Onion & Herb Salt Free spice. Then I added pepper and salt substitute.
I wasn't too sure about how I was going to like/not like it so I cut half which was about 2.5oz. and then added cottage cheese and 4oz. green beans. I must say, I made a pretty darn good turkey patty. So I'm saving the other half for lunch tomorrow and I've made the ranch dip so I'll use that and eat some raw veggies with it.
Now that I've tackled the turkey.. it's on to veggies. I'm really going to try to eat different ones.
Well I'm trying to make up for the HUGE mistake on Friday. Today I ran (not walked) 2 miles. I killed myself by thinking about all those calories that I just comsumed. It is such a beautiful day out today that it was so worth it. I was a runner in high school but only in high school. I stopped running after graduation. It was so nice to be able to do that again.
Been getting lots of bedroom exercises in now that the hubby is home too!! One of the best ways to burn calories!!!
I took some time for myself and had a little shopping trip. Now I have a big problem. I found two perfect dresses for my after pictures. I can't choose. Maybe I will post pics later and see if you guys can help.
Thanks everyone for the support that is given here. I truly could not have gotten this far with this forum!
Hope everyone is have a great weekend! Good luck staying on plan.

Oooh! I love shopping vicariously through others! Definitely post pics and we'll help you choose. That way, too, you know which one looks best on you in pictures (I've had some outfits that look great on me, but terrible in pictures).
I'm so glad your husband is home and that life can become a little less stressful for you.

I agree with TeacherLady! Post pics and we will help you. I would make an awesome personal shopper.
I hate spending the money, but I finally broke down and got some new bras today. My bras I've been wearing are huge now, and it's starting to show under my clothes--plus, I don't get the lift I need, anymore.
I went to Lane Bryant for their bra-fitting weekend, with their buy 1 get one 1/2 off sale for their bras (I love cacique bras). I've gone from a tight 44DDD to a 40DD. Wow. WOW.
I told the saleslady that measured me that I needed new bras because I've lost so much weight. She asked me if i was planning on losing any more--and then she told me that if I lose much more, I won't be able to buy their bras anymore--they only go down to a size 38! I haven't worn a 36 or 38 bra since the 1990s!
I also picked up some new boy-short undies while I was there--my undies have been too big for a while, giving me a saggy-butt look.

I would love to see both dresses and vote and what a wonderful problem to have, normally I can't even find 1 dress I like.

I think my training bra was a 36 or 38 I can't buy bras at Lane Bryant anymore because they don't go up high enough in size. I have to go to Catherine's or order them through a catalog. I can't wait to buy new undies & bras! I'm not sure when they remeasure for inches lost.. I thought my center said it was a month into the program but I don't remember. All I know is these pj pants I've had on today keep kinda slipping off my butt. I don't have much of a butt to begin with.. but Yah!
Congrats on your new purchases! I'm sure you won't have buyer's remorse!
I'm not sure when they remeasure for inches lost.. I thought my center said it was a month into the program but I don't remember.
THey usually do a tanita reading and measurements on me every month--sometimes I have to remind them, but they're pretty good about noticing and doing it.
My pj pants were some of the first things to go. I wore them pretty loose to begin with (for comfort), so they were the first things to practically fall off of me.
I was wondering the same thing. I was feeling a little hungry before my afternoon snack and didn't know if it was ok to have a HNS or if I had to do that along with my afternoon snack. I'm going to ask the center today.
I was warned by my center a while back not to go over the recommended HNS for the day (5 or 4 depending on your menu). The big thing is decreased kidney functions. More doesn't necessarily mean better, as I was told. I found this excerpt on line which can probably explain it better than me:
"So what happens when your diet goes far beyond the recommended level of protein, as you might do if following a high protein diet? One of the main concerns has to do with the stress put on the kidneys.
It is important for people on high protein diets to exercise, because it can help the kidneys flush wastes out of your system more effectively. Make sure you talk to your doctor before beginning a high protein diet, if you have ever experienced kidney problems.
Another issue regarding getting too much protein is leeching of calcium from the bones. The acids released by the body as it digests protein are absorbed with the help of calcium. So if you aren't getting enough calcium, your body will take calcium from your bones. The Nurses Healthy Study even showed that women who ate more than 95 grams of protein were more likely to have broken their wrist than were women who ate less protein."
Wow! I missed a lot this weekend. My highlights were saving $47 at the grocery store Saturday (sales, BOGOs, & coupons). FUN!!! And then 5 loads of laundry on Sunday. It's a wonder we had any clothes to wear. LOL And, pretty much staying OP except for lunch on Saturday when I didn't have anything available to eat (hence, the grocery store run).
Struggling Nicole - What a relief it must be to have your hubby home. Congrats! Not to mention he'll be able to come to your stabilization party with you which will probably make it that much more meaningful. Can't wait to see your dresses.
Rzrbackcandi - Congrats on your weight loss!
Boxerlady - Great job! Just stick to the plan and you will see even more results come your way.
Teacherlady79 - Can I hire you?! Wow! I was tired just reading everything you did. Awesome about the fitting too. What a great feeling!
Razorbackbritt - All things considered, I think you are doing amazing on your trip. I love when restaurants have menus on line. That way you don't give in to impulse when you get there. Keep up the good work!
