  • Hello..

My weigh in today went well.. I lost 2 pounds, bringing me 2 pounds below goal, so that is a good thing.. I did not do the full stabilization, I did what the counselor suggested , I took half of things to add , and it worked out well.

This week is week 5, and I am to add fat.. I can have one tablespoon of peanut butter and that is great, as when I have a real hunger feeling, I can take the peanut butter and it stops it within minutes. This week is nice, can add cream cheese, avocado, peanut butter, some nuts, I think they are almonds, and they have increased some of the other add ons to daily vs. 3 times a week, but they suggest I not do that with my history, until I feel ready.

So nice to have half an english muffin, winter squash, etc., soy milk.

If any questions please feel free to ask .

For those who order from Diet Direct, they have a sale on the liquid gel drinks, which are same as MRC liquid drinks, not the powdered, but the liquid.

Forgot to mention, struggling Nicole, you look very THIN & great in those pictures. I think you mentioned you were close to goal.

  • Quote: I was running a bit late for work this morning but I think it was for a great reason! I put on a pair of jeans, they were baggy.. put on another pair, they were baggy. So I went to my "haven't worn in years" stack of jeans - tried on a pair and they were still too snug. I started to get frustrated because I kept thinking.. I'm late.. I'm late but not for a very important date.. just work. Then I sat on the bed and thought for a minute. Am I really getting frustrated because I have to find a SMALLER pair of jeans!?! Really?!?! So then I just laughed. I think my two boys (yorkies) thought I was going insane. The next pair of jeans I tried on, fit! I haven't worn these jeans in over 4 years! Just thankful I kept my smaller jeans because I knew one day I would weart them again.. and I am!
Great.. Happy for you. Isn't it a wonderful feeling?

  • Oh my. What a morning. Weighed in and lost nothing. NOTHING. I was soooo good all last week and this weekend traveling...and still lost nothing. When I sat down to put my shoes back on, I started crying. "...I can't justify working so hard and having no results. Its a waste of money. My weeks run out at the end of May. I'm out of time...." It all hit me.

The center manager (luckily) jumped in the room to help. (I'm not a huge fan of the consultant who I was meeting with, she talks all the time about being naturally thin, so I don't think she relates to me).... and the manager suggested I do two weeks of meta-protein. I'm willing to try anything at this point.

The menu looks soooo different from what is "normal" to me now on MRC.

Breakfast: one serving from the chicken, turkey, bison etc group (group A) OR one from egg, cheese group (group b), one fat (canola, olive, walnut oils, etc), and one other fat (cream cheese, one slice bacon, butter, cream), and one serving veggies.

Lunch and dinner: Protein group A AND B, fat, other fat, vegggie.

    And 3 clear HNS daily.

Seems like so much extra bad stuff with the other fats and whatnot...but I'm giving it a try. I'm just a little concerned about next weekend when I will be a bridesmaid in a wedding 10 hours away. I guess I will pack myself a cooler of food and live on what I bring and just tell my bride friend sorry that I'm not indulging in everything.

Ya'll something's gotta give. We looked at my chart, and I've basically been 4-5 weeks without a substantial loss. I heard a song on the radio that really hit home, and I added a quote to my siggy from it. I'm a change in the making (let's hope!).

Thanks for the update Patzi. I'm a long way from stabilization but I'm glad things are working for you!

  • razorbackbritt--what an accomplishment! I was signed up to take a Zumba class but sustained an injury so it will be at least three years before I can join. I think it's amazing that the asked you to teach. What a great job!

I think the shake up in your menu will help. All the old timers ( I say with respect) can attest to the theory that your body can be unpredictable so sometimes you have to show it who's boss.

rzrbackcandi- How awesome your jeans were to frickin' big! A NSV to be sure! I think yorkies get used to our eccentricities, btw.

Patzi--I'm a little nervous for all of you on stabilization so I'm glad to see you've lost some weight. Congratulation.

Nicole--the blue one. Will be thinking good thoughts for you son and hope you don't mind sharing the results of your consultation. Whatever you decide about the stabilization party will be right.
  • Quote: Here are the two dresses. I am just notsure what to do. I'm leaning more towards the blue one.

I'm kind of scared now that we might not be able to go to the stabilization party. My son is getting admitted to the Minnesota Epilepsy Group next tuesday. We are not sure how long we will have to stay. Hope we make it back in time for the Husker Spring game on Saturday (family tradition to go every year) and for the stabilization party on the 18th.
First of all, if that is you in the picture - you look like a completely different person!!! You look great!!! I like both dresses, can't go wrong with either, but blue is my favorite color, so I like Blue. Hopefully you can make the game and the party. Good luck!!!

Do they think Meta Protein is going to help move the needle? I see bacon is on the list...yum.

I just weighed in and gained .4 - I'm not mad about it -it TOM and I ate a milkshake and some ice cream over the weekend. Counselor encouraged me to pick back up with my walking if i want to lose 3 pounds a week - I had two big drops, but am now at about 2.2 pounds loss per week.

I hope this works for you. Sometimes a change will do the trick. Hang in there!
  • What non-MRC supplements is everyone taking?

Patzi, I am glad to hear you are now 2 pounds below goal. How many pounds were you away from goal when you started stabilization? How do you feel at your current weight?

When I started stabilization, I was exactly at goal, and I would never do that again.. I would be 2-3 pounds under goal before I started stabilization. I gain
very easily, and I really stay OP, and have had many plateaus, so it would have given me a buffer. I feel great at my current weight, after losing the two pounds. You are allowed to go up no more than 6 pounds during maintenance. I have one more week to go to maintenance.

Hope this answers you. If not ask away.

  • Wow it's been a busy day on the board today. I WI this morning and was nervious as TOM is here, but was actaully down 1 pound today - 1 lb and I can sign the 20 lb board. TOM will still be here so I'm not sure if I will lose this by Friday, but my fingers are crossed. I can't believe how much energy I have and I really am loving the program.

PATZI - thanks for all the info on stabilization/maintenence I know we are all nervious about that part and about keeping the weight off.

RAZORBACKBRITT - Good luck at the wedding and I'm hoping this change in your menu helps you out. Thank you for sharing about the metaprotein. I like knowing what menus are out there, just in case I need them in the future!
Also, congrats on the job, the house, etc. you have so much going on and are so close to goal. Hang in there I know you can do this!

    Mariah
  • PATZI- thanks so much for the stabilization info. It is so nice to know what to expect!

RAZORBACKBRITT- Hope the change in menu helps. I don't know what our bodies are thinking. Sometimes we just can't make them do what we want.

Good luck everyone. Hope you all have an OP day.
Thanks for the opinions on the dresses. I would love to keep them both but have way too many clothes to buy now. I will take everyone's advice and go with the blue! Can't wait for the party.n Hope we make it!
  • Quote: Teacherlady, I just noticed how close you are getting! That must be so exciting, only 7 pounds to go!!
Thanks, Junie! Although, now I'm thinking I want to get down to 195 before I stabilize.

Also, I weighed in today and gained 1.5 lbs. Grrr.

It's my own fault. I had so many projects going on, I was totally out of my routine this weekend. I grazed rather than eating solid meals on Sunday, and my grazing wasn't totally on-plan (crackers, etc.). Then, today, I had two brownies at work (they were made-from-scratch ones my boss brought in for a meeting). At least I stopped at two. After everyone left, there were 4 more still on the tray, and I could have eaten them all; instead, I took them to the office next door and begged them to eat them.

So, I'm buckling down again starting tonight. I had a huge salad with chicken on top, and even though today isn't one of my normal workout/exercise days, I'll probably take the dog for a long walk to help burn off the brownies. I'll try to be 100% on plan tomorrow (with my usual hard cardio workout), then probably do Metaquick on Thursday and/or Friday. I like doing metaquick when I'm trying to get back on-track--it kind of feels like a cleanse, of sorts.

Anyway, I'm rambling. It's not so much that I need everyone to know what my plan is, it's more that I feel like writing it out solidifies it for me in my mind.
