  • Quote: Dallas traveling update: I did great today. I am really proud of myself. I ate OP breakfast at home before we left, and I packed myself a lunch since I knew we would be eating on the road. I packed a salad with chicken and an orange. I drank water all day and was so proud of myself with road snacks. I love to snack during a road trip and hubby got Combo's...some of my fave snacks. And I didn't even have one!!

Our catered dinner was ok. There was salad, but only ceasar dressing, so I only had a small dab and covered my dressing with pepper and cheese. I figured better to have the extra cheese than a dressing made from I don't know what. It was Italian food- breadsticks (I didn't even have a bite!), lasagna (skipped it...it was made with alfredo), and some tortelini with tomato sauce. I got about 6 tortelini for my carb serving...and some grilled chicken. They also had tiramisu (seriously my favorite dessert) and I only had 2 bites of hubby's. I know it was 2 bites, but I didn't have a whole slice! I did drink unsweet tea with my dinner to make myself feel like I was having a treat.

I'm proud of my day on program (minus by 2 bites of dessert) while traveling and eating the catered food. Let's hope tomorrow is just as good!
Congratulations, I knew you were going to do fine. Be proud of yourself and have a great time.

You did a great job and you planning and preparation obviously paid off! Way to go!

  • Is there a such thing as drinking too many HNS? Would that be bad?
  • Quote: Is there a such thing as drinking too many HNS? Would that be bad?

I was wondering the same thing. I was feeling a little hungry before my afternoon snack and didn't know if it was ok to have a HNS or if I had to do that along with my afternoon snack. I'm going to ask the center today.
  • Down 1lb today, which truly is miraculous, given that this week was my TOM and wasn't pretty--lots of off-plan snacks, etc. I'm thinking I"m going to attribute that pound to the SlimQuick. But I'll take it!

I asked the gal I weighed in with about switching plans, and she said I"m close enough to 200 now to go ahead and move over to the green menu. Hopefully this will get my losses moving along. I'm worried about feeling hungry, though, with smaller portion sizes and less HNS... but I guess I'll just be drinking more fiber supplements (MRC or benefiber).

Well, I'm going to eat lunch, then we have lots of yard clean-up and other projects to do today. Have a great weekend, everyone!
  • @teacherlady what plan were you on before? How many HNS were you taking? I started on green plan and I am supposed to take up to 5 a day.

I drank six yesterday and I'm wondering if that was too many.

The number of HNS your allowed depends on your plan. I think most of the plans for people over 200 lbs allow 5 daily. I have not seen the other plans so I am not sure how many they allow. It should tell you at the top of your menu how many you are allowed.

Congrats on the loss and on switching menus. My fingers are crossed that this will kick your weight loss into high gear!

  • What a horrible dive off the wagon last night. MY FIRST BUT IT WAS HORRIBLE. Hubby came home last night after a six week deployment. The boys and I made him a cake to welcome him home. We had made cupcakes and goodies before and I wasn't tempted, but this time was different. I licked the beaters, I licked the spatula, I licked the bowl, I licked my fingers. I ate two cupcakes and enough frosting to frost 6 cupcakes. Then since I decided I already screwed up, I added a peanut butter egg on top!!! It all tasted GLORIOUS! Then it hit me and started feeling sick.
I'm not horribly mad about it, I wish I didn't, but not mad. I'm not perfect and I don't have to be. Now I am just trying to decide wheter or not to tell the center. I am so close to goal and my contract technically expires on the 4th. I don't want them to make me pay for more weeks just because I did this. This truly was my one and only cheat.

Now daddy is home and can't get enough of the new me. It is so nice to hear all of his compliments. I'm glad he is here to help take some of the stress away. We are still trying to get my little man into the Mayo clinic for epilepsy. I'm not sure how things are going to go trying to add new foods to my menu and travelling while in the hospital. I guess I really needed that binge. Hope it doesn't happen again. Drinking LOTS of water today!!!!
  • This is the first time for a Saturday WI. I think the only reason I went was because I had gained a pound at Thursday's WI. So not only am I down that 1 pound but 3 more on top of that! 12.5lbs in 16 days!

I also asked about the HNS. The consultant told me not to drink anymore than what I was allotted (which is 5 on MetaSlim Plus). I have to drink the 3 with the meals, which is what I have been doing and she said if I wanted to do the other 2, I could do those at anytime during the day.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. We have great weather, here in Arkansas!
  • Hello everyone! I am new to MRC today is day 8 and I have lost 5.5 pounds.
I had a craving and had a snack

I had cucumbers in apple cider vinegar. Is that horrible? Is it going to push me back?
  • Nicole, girl, your secret is safe with us.

Don't add confessing this one time to the center to your stress.

Enjoy your family and just stay OP from now on.

candi, I'm so happy for you!!

    Welcome, boxer lady.

I was on the beige plan, and that allowed up to 5 HNS a day. They moved me over to the green plan today, and that allows up to 4 HNS a day.

If you drink too many HNS once in a while, it's not on plan, but it's better than if you were to choose to eat a bunch of chips or many other things you could choose for a snack when you're hungry. Still, I wouldn't make a habit of it.
  • @Nicole -- I agree with Edie. I wouldn't say anything to your center. If you are worried it's giong to set you back, then maybe do a day of metaquick or just stay 100% strictly on plan between now and the next time you go in to the center. Life happens, and these are situations you'll have to deal with whether you're losing, stabilizing, or maintaining. It's just a few mistakes...just one day.

@ boxer lady -- Welcome! Cucumbers in vinegar are probably not awful or going to affect you too much (depending on how much you ate), but I wouldn't make a habit of it. If you find yourself getting hungry, you might want to think about the MRC fiber drinks or benefiber drinks to help make you feel full and get you through the day.

Well, we got a LOT accomplished today, and I'm going to be surprised if I can even move tomorrow, lol. Cut down some bushes and moved a bunch of brush from the backyard to the front, moved old patio stones & broken concrete from the backyard to the front (which involved running up and down the front steps many times), cleaned out the garage, moved a bunch of boxes of books and etc. over to the storage unit, wiped down and repainted the baseboards, trim, and front door in the living room. Whew!! I don't usually count housework/yardwork into my calories burned on livestrong.com, but I'm absolutely sore and exhausted, so I'm definitely counting this!!
