I'm so excited, after sooooo many WIs of .5 lb I finally had a 2 lb WI yesterday!! I went a day earlier than usual and it worked out! 14 lbs in 34 days. Thought I would never see a 1 lb WI much less a 2 lb WI since I haven't seen one since PC. Woo-hoo!!!! Bring it on, Thanksgiving - I got you!!
10 or 10:30 - I can't remember, eek. I usually go in early to WI...
I will be there bright and early Saturday as well. Too many chores to get done in so little time. Maybe we'll run into each other. Did you attend the holiday cooking class Thursday night? I hate that I had a work conflict and couldn't go.

A three pound loss today. I was 100% OP last week and last Friday no loss/no gain. I had a couple non program foods last Saturday but the scale has been going down at home. I was hopeful for a good WI. My best one yet. I got a lot more sleep this week. My counselor said my loss could have been from the OP week...there might be a bit of delay there.

Yes, I totally believe that how you eat TODAY or TOMORROW, doesn't necessarily show up on the scale for a few days. That is why I believe that an obsessed "weigher" may defeat themselves, therefore, I only get to the scale at home about once a week.
So, good for you Nicmom24. What a nice way to begin the weekend. CONGRATS. It is a terrific diet that DOES work, at least for most.
Warning: Don't visit Disneyworld when on this diet!
So I had to go to Orlando for a national English teacher conference this weekend for work... and unless you make reservations 48 hours in advance (so busy during the convention weekend) at the "fancy" restaurants here, the only things to eat are sandwiches, hamburgers, and lots of fried crap or veggies drenched in oil. And lots of carbs, candy, and desserts. And it's all pretty darn expensive!
I brought my butter spray, melba toast, supplements, and bars. I'm making the best choices I can, downing lots of extra water (everything is so salty, too!) and walking LOTS. But I'm freaking out because I desperately want to sign the 30lb board next week.
Between food, the initial stress of learning they jacked up our reservations, annoying Disney music everywhere, and having had to present to a large group of colleagues this morning, I am NOT enjoying Disneyworld. Oh--AND Frontier airlines serves fresh-baked cookies during their flights. TWICE I had to turn down--and then smell for the rest of the trip--the warm, yummy cookies. I texted my sister to tell her about that, and she said it sounded like "the movieSaw for fat chicks or something."
I hope everyone else's weekend is starting off better than mine. I see a few of you have finally seen some movement on the scale-- yay!

Thanks for letting me vent.
aw teacherlady! that's tough! I just want to encourage you that if you stay OP as much as possible, even if you don't get to sign that board, you have WON! Trips are soooo hard, especially when you don't have many food choices. LOL Saw for fat chicks! hahahaha! I think I'd rather face a guy with a chainsaw than a plate of warm cookies! good for you. Every time you say no to those things, they lose a bit of their power over you. Can you reward yourself with something like a facial or massage at your hotel? You deserve props, girl, hang in there!
I travel quite often for my own business, and I can relate to you. I know Disney well, as I live in Florida.
When I travel like this, I eat only a bar and HNS for breakfast and lunch
and eat a meal at night, and make the best choices I am able to make. I find that the jelled HNS you can squeeze into any spring water bottle or even at a restaurant water glass. I always keep those in suitcase, as they have taken them from me when I have in my bag at the airport.
If sandwich, or hamburger, just try to eat the meat, and not the bread.
Remember you are making the best choices you can. Don't beat yourself up , you will be fine. Drinking lots of water and walking helps. You did great not eating the cookies..Two weeks ago, I was sitting next to someone on the plane that was eating cookies. It sure is difficult, I know. Then he ate a candy bar before we landed. Mercy me, right?

Even if you don't end up signing the board you did GREAT! You brought your supplies so you could be prepared and passing on warm cookies twice is nothing to sneeze at. Good for you!!!
Teacherlady, I feel your pain. My teaching partner is 28 years old, tall and probably wears a size 4. She is PRECIOUS! The other two teachers with whom I lunch have normal weights, one slender and one more curvy. Every day, my partner drinks a full soda, picks at her lunch, and follows up with a Butterfinger. Once or twice a week one of these gals goes out and brings back Mexican food or Sonic.
Doubtless my participation in these occasional Friday Mexican treats has slowed down my weight loss. I HAVE turned down the Sonic, as that is just over the top. This week was hard because there was a pot luck one night and a staff meeting with a bag of candy being passed around, a fund-raiser fish-fry today, and on and on and on. This is my life. Today at the fish fry I ate two small pieces of fish, a pile of lettuce and tomato salad, some fries, and a couple fork-fulls of cake. What I did notice is that once I was full I had to stop eating, so my DH ended up with the cake and the remaining fish and a hush puppy. I simply cannot hold the volume of food I used to eat. That was hours and hours ago and I'm still not really hungry now.
I was gratified to have lost three pounds this week - one of my best weeks since I started. I really have not followed the HCG plan, as it was simply too restrictive and unrealistic. I told my counselor I'm going back to the green Metaslim menu, and I will buy more weeks on Black Friday when they run the special. I believe it will be 10 weeks for $59, so that should do it for getting me to goal (my current contract ends mid-December). With 20 pounds to lose I think that is more realistic than trying to lose that much in a month with the holidays bearing down on us. I've put too much into this to stop now so close to the finish line.
This really is my life. It isn't a rehearsal for later, and there will always be a skinny partner or a bag of candy or a piece of greasy fish. To make up for today I will push the HNS and the water and plug in a MetaQuick day tomorrow. Yes, I've messed up my burn, but I can limit the damage. Adjust, adapt, and go on!

Reason: misspelling
I had a bad day yesterday. We are staying at my mom-in-laws this weekend. See, we live an hour away from the town we work in (because we live where I go to school) but this weekend, we were both working (in the hour away town) and I had no school things to do. So we came to stay with mom-in-law (as she lives where we work).
I started off great. HNS and egg/cheese for breakfast. Then I went to work. I forgot to take a meal bar with me...and the only things to eat at work are vending machine. So for lunch I just did an HNS. By the time we ate dinner, I was STARVING. We went to Mexican. I usually do ok by getting a grilled chicken salad. Well, last night, I caved. I ordered a quesadilla (not too bad....just chicken, veggies, cheese and one tortilla) but I ate so much chips and salsa. I am feeling the bloat from all the salt and carbs.
Then after, we went to a bonfire with some friends were they were passing out bowls of ice cream. One was just shoved at me by another person there. And instead of handing it back or putting it down, I ate a little over a scoop of ice cream. GAH! Now, I couldn't finish the whole bowl (which I would have done before....) so I felt the stomach shrinkage...but I am so mad at myself.
I did good at breakfast this morning again, but we are headed to my husband's grandpa's house for his Uncle's birthday. So cake and homemade lunch. I know there will be taco soup there...which is just ground beef, veggies, in a taco broth...so I will eat that for lunch and try to avoid the cake. Then I will do a shake for dinner on the way back home.
I'm pushing water today and drinking all 4 of my HNS. I am trying not to feel defeated. I could have done a lot worse...but I just hate that I let one little slip up (no bar at lunch) blow my day.
Will you be attending the connections class Tuesday night? I am hoping to since I haven't had a chance to attend any classes.
Hi LisaK - I don't know that I will, depends on how our schedule looks...I've done my 6 classes (though I want to go to all 8). I might see you there! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Was up 1 pound today...I think from the sodium and carbs this weekend...drinking lots to flush myself.
Tonight I made a DELICIOUS slow cooker chicken soup. I took some chicken breasts (mine were frozen first....could take from freezer to slow cooker) and added about 2 cups water. Then I added a bunch of dried herbs. A teaspoon each of thyme, rosemary, sage, a bay leaf, parsley, and celery leaf. Also added garlic powder, pepper, and crushed red pepper. I let that simmer until the chicken shredded.
For each bowl, I add a packet of chicken boullion to the broth in each individual bowl. I think the HNS when it cooks for a while gets icky. I also added some green peas for dinner.
I added brown rice to it for my husband for dinner, and he loved it too! Yummy chicken soup!
