So I guess we should start one of these...its a new month!
I weighed in today and got great news...I am at 20.5 pounds! However (not sure if its my center or all of MRC), they are only showing 18.5 pounds lost because they add back in the times I gain. It was confusing...but from just the numbers, I am at 20.5 pounds. Clearly 209-188.5= 20.5. And we did a body comp and I am down 2 BMI points, and 27 inches total!
A great way to start the month! I would like to lose another 8-10 this month!
Hello! New MRC member. I started on Monday, will go to a food class and weigh in on Friday and am mostly entirely confused by the entire thing thus far. Not frustrated, just confused I'll get it though.
I'm drinking water, eating things off the preconditioning list and excited to start supplements and whatnot.
I've never heard of a trace minerals supplement. Do they have this at the center, or did they recommend something for you to go buy?
You can do it, Spryng! I know you get encouragement from this board, but I also have to tell you that this board gets encouragement from you and your positive attitude. Whenever I go off-plan, even just a little bit, I read about how much you are trying to stay on plan and it encourages me to do the same.
Like you said, even if the scale doesn't budge, in reality it is the inches that matter.
Thank you for the welcome! I think right now I'm just confused about all of the supplements. I've been trying to read on the board about ways to save money (possibly buying from other sources) because as you all know, it's quite expensive, but all of the acronyms confuse me (HNC, MRC, HCG lol lots of googling happens on this end!)
I want to follow the plan to a T, but would also like to not waste my money if there are alternatives for buying other places. Right now I'm just trying to remember what she told me at my consultation, but I know I'll get more info on vitamins and such on Friday.
That's really all I'm confused about. I've been drinking (and peeing!!) like a fool, which I think is helping my cravings a bit.
machaela, welcome! At your food class on friday they will give you a handout of ALL their supplements they offer and what they do, the only mandatory ones are the HNS's which are the high nutrient supplements we take daily. But they will explain those in detail too and even let you taste some and the EFA's the omega 3's and 6's but you can buy them elsewhere if you want along with your own multivitamin. It may seem like alot of info at once but they are great at walking you through it and suggesting things that fit your plan and budget. My center is not pushy or anything about extra supplements, they just want us on hns's for sure. I hope that helped a little
Teacherlady, thanks for your kind words! I definitely love this board and posting here so it's nice to know you guys get motivation and inspiration from me too!! it's a win win for all of us then The trace minerals, yes they have them at the center.. it is in pill form. I recalled after she mentioned it it was in my food class and it was talked about breaking stalls etc so I'm optimistic for sure! But yes you can buy them elsewhere too I'm sure. I've seen them in health food stores and maybe walmart carries them, they can be liquid or pill form.
Thanks so much spryng! I think i'll be so much more knowledgeable after my class on Friday. I'm looking forward to having the supplements. I'm getting through the preconditioning list with baked chicken and hopefully it works out ok!
Seems like everyone slows down when they get the green/blue menu...any idea why?
You'll lose the most on preconditioning right away because you are mostly losing water weight (which is a good thing and it counts, lol) then once you hit the other menu's you may slow down because you'll start on the real fat and for some the weightloss slows but the inches fly off or vice versa.. everyone reacts differently for sure but they do guarentee a certain weight by your 17th or 24th week (whichever you signed up for) so the center will do everything they can to get you there, you just have to do your part, which is why I love this plan and my center so much, lol We are truly investing in ourself with a secret weapon, our center's counselors!
welcome machaela! Congrats on making this journey! Hang in there, its tough at times, but so so worth it in the end!
I had my weigh in yesterday, I'm only down 1 pound this week, I was hoping for a bigger loss, but I can tell I'm losing inches, my jeans are getting a bit baggy. I haven't been measured yet to see how many inches I've lost. Do they do that after a month of being on the program or what? Also, I invested in the replacement bars yesterday, but after I left I realized she said no creamy on the day I take one, but do I still take my clear with it? Excited for this week, I'm hoping to be down 3 pounds by friday and sign the ten pounds board!
Congrats sunshine on the 1 lb loss!!! yes you still take your clear with the nutrabar and it replaces either breakfast or lunch
Machaela, I don't take the coq10 but I take my own efa's each day, mine are big so I take one with each meal.. I also take the mrc6 from the center (which is optional) and take 2 of those with each meal, and I take trace minerals from the center (just started those due to a plateau) and I take them between meals.. and my multivitamin daily. So it seems like a lot of pills but I can tell they are helping!
I haven't posted on this forum for a while, but I thought I'd check in now that it is November. I went to my center and had a heart-to-heart with my consultant about being tired and just wanting to be done. I started in mid-April and I've lost almost 50 pounds (I'm sure when I weigh next I will get my 50 pound stone). I couldn't be happier with my progress, but I've reached a dangerous place in my mind where my current weight is "good enough" instead of the best it can be. In other words, I've got 20 pounds to go to goal, although I'd like to lose 30 in all and see how that looks and feels. Having had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff on September 15, I am pretty limited as far as activity even now (I can walk, I just don't!).
So I'm doing the new program from MRC and strictly keeping my calories to 800 a day, and I have 19 days to go. My contract expires in December. I don't want to have to renew! I've already paid for my maintenence, so I hope by the time my contract ends I'll at least be at goal or lower.
I bought the Super Fruit and Veggie powder and I do one a day - some days it tastes OK, other days, nasty, strongly like the beets that are in it. The grape HNS does the most to "drown out" the taste. I also am doing the Fulfill Mixed Fruit beverage, multivitamins, EFA's, and trace minerals. Aside from feeling hungry some of the time, it has been going OK. Cooking without any fat at all is still challenging, but some of the foods I'm making taste pretty good and I will continue to prepare meals this way.
I'm going out of town on a motorcycle trip for 4 days tomorrow, so wish me luck.
