Last night, Steve actually grabbed my MRC cookbook and made the mayo and one of the coleslaw recipes. This is momentous on several points. First as a chef, he doesn't use recipes, and even if he has a list of ingredients, he doesn't stop there either. He had fun and I'm very appreciative of his support. I have at least broken his habit of salting everything as he cooks, much to his frustration.

Congrats to all for accomplishments. to everyone!
That's awesome! Shows great support

It's my own fault, I know, because I'm not always sticking to plan. I think I'm just really bored with my food choices. I will have been at this for one year August 1st, and I'm really ready for a change, but I'm not going to stop this close to my goal.

I've also lost some of my motivation because I actually look pretty good these days. Granted, I'd look better without 20 lbs, but I'm healthy, and I am almost satisfied with what I see in the mirror.

Is anyone else in the same boat? What do you do to keep things interesting or stay motivated?
Try a new recipe.....say you will try one thing new each week. That keeps it interesting. Try to not have your same o/same o meals each meal. Look back to see what you ate in the past (if you have your logs) for inspiration.

Hang in there. You've got this down and I'm sure you are looking good. I agree food choices can get boring. Last week I swore if I saw another piece of chicken I was going to lose it. I changed up all my cooking with spices and ventured out to veggies I normally don't eat. I'm like you...I've got 20 more pounds to go and it can't come off fast enough!

Thanks everyone for sharing your goal outfit stories! I think it would be great if everyone tried to post a pic once they get there. Trying to think of a new weekly question. Work has just been a little crazy and I have to play MUDD volleyball on Saturday for the March of Dimes... so probably not till next week.

So beautiful! Just what I was picturing. Could just feel the island breeze while looking at those dresses. Thanks

Well....It's been a while since I have been here. I have been struggling with staying on program for the past 2 weeks. I can't stop cheating. I little bite here and a little taste there. I thought that camping would help, but it didn't. I was starving after our 2 hour hike and made poor choices for dinner that night. Telling myself it was ok, because I had just exercised. A common distortion for me. Anyway, I weighed in on Thursday night after not going in for 12 days. I just knew I had gained at least 5 pounds. I could barely look at the numbers ~ but I was only up 2 pounds. I got back on program and when I weighed in 2 days later I had lost 3 lbs. Whew! a little set-back, but I am back on track.
I have set a goal to loose 15 pounds by my hubby's 40th birthday on 8-29. I didn't do for my 40th, might as well do it for his. I will be down a total of 43 pounds if I can stay on track!
Keep on keeping on!

---Isn't it wonderful when the program works in spite of yourself? Things like this convince me I'm really with the right weight loss program.

Finally!
I decided to have a bit of a rebellious period during July and fought every pound I lost--and I lost some of those pounds two, three, and four times over!

Glad it is a new month!

MSIM,
I had the same problem. I don't know what happened. I pretty much stayed on plan but every pound last month was a struggle. Bythe way great pic. Isn't it nice to feel good about posting a pic.

Since we started with about the same weight and are the same height you (as well as everyone else) are a great inspiration.

I like watching your ticker, I know that will be me eventually!

Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Don't feel bad. We have all fallen of the MRC wagon, one way or another. Just pick your self up, dust off the cake crumbs and climb back on. You know we will all lend a hand to pull you back up! So, fill up that water jug, grill that chicken, and remember why you are doing what you are doing.
Well since the women who work nights are touching base, I have also been cheating like you would not believe. My boyfriend and I (of 4 years) split up last week and it has been like an out of control spiral. I have even been back to having a beer or two after work. Ok so that stops now!!!!

Sounds like July was a challenge for a lot of us. I lost only a couple of pounds the whole month. So this month I'm going to really kick in it gear. I may even exercise.

Funny, I used to love to walk on the treadmill. Now it seems overwhelming.

If my increased portions of chicken and grilled hamburger are the cause, I can see stabilization won't be a breeze for me. At least I have a heads up on this.

Lori, I'm delighted at your work news. Are the other nurses treating you well?

joz, I was wondering where you were. I'm sorry about you and your boyfriend. Listen to some sad break-up songs and grieve for a while. I could go on and give you advice on how to get over a man, but I'm sure you've heard it before.

I FINALLY got to sign the 30lb board! FINALLY!!!!

I have 36 days to go till the wedding.

My dress arrived yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised at how it came out. None of those horror stories about a dress that looks nothing like what is on the website. AND.....

it fits perfect just as it is... no need for any foundation underwear!!!

Plus the shoes I had to get are a perfect match color wise it was like I had them dyed to match.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Kristalin,

Do you have a picture of your wedding dress?

I love wedding gowns. When I got married a city court officer, I wore a white satiny vest with a fitted white tee under it and a long tulle white skirt with white satin ballet slippers. It sounds like something you'd see on trash wedding sites, but it was actually quite elegant. It cost me $50 total although I would have paid a small fortune if needed.

I hadn't thought of a goal outfit for a reward like others, but you just reminded me of how much I love ball gowns. I used to ballroom dance so maybe I can pick out a gown from the local boutique and picture myself in it for inspiration.

My niece is getting ready to have a dream wedding and I've been pestering her with details. I actually dress more like a hippie when I'm not in scrubs so she's surprised at my interest. I love looking at bridal magazines too even though I know I will never get married again.

Default Wedding Stuffs

Since Little Edie asked and I am going all girly and the wedding is the only thing I seem to be able to think about here are some pictures of the dress the shoes and the flowers. Although keep in mind the dress will be the same color as the shoes.... ivory.
