Good morning all! What is it about Monday that makes it the perfect day to get back on the wagon? I seem to have forgotten everything I have learned on this diet and have been eating up a storm!!! I am definitely gaining weight and do not like it. I can still wear my size ten pants but not for much longer if I keep on eating like I am. If I start eating the carbs I just want more and the cravings are intense. I do not like this feeling of being out of control. So More Protein, less Carbs will be my motto. Have a great day and thank you for your support!
It is 20 degrees below zero here this morning- man that makes me want some homemade bread and stew! Am having a great on plan week. Been 100% on plan since Saturday and the scale is inching down. Doing phase 1. Funny how hard it is to get your mind wrapped arouned that after being off. But there is no stopping now- plan on getting to 150 and then phasing off again and I need to find a way to incorporate excersise into my life with something that I can stick with. I live in such a rural area, there are not alot of options for "classes". Have a great day everyone.
Woohoo, way to go Brenda on your plan! I have been going to water aerobics for 3 weeks! Still have knee pain but IBprophen does the trick for now so I am not limping around like last year.
I'm back on and getting caught up after being without power and internet connection for days! My level of discomfort was not near what everyone else's was, as we purchased a generator when Harmony was born for just this sort of situation. We are able to stay warm and watch TV, but no cooking. I have been eating every ready to eat and snack item in the house and it hasn't done me any favors. I'm up a couple pounds! Ouch. The funny thing is, it's mostly bars and baked chips, lowfat crackers, cheeses, that type of thing. It's making me gain and making my husband lose! He's so used to eating more that the snacking is helping him. Not so much with me.
I am now in San Diego, where I will hopefully be able to get some running in this week. I brought shakes and bars to avoid all but one expense account meal per day.
Maile - good luck with the wild kids today. I know my husband is in the same boat. I don't know if you can buy habanero oil. My coworker made it and gave it to me for Christmas. I'll have to find out how she did it.
Gika - get well soon! That gum surgery sounds horrible.
GIKA....I hope you feel better really sonn and can make due with shakes puddings and nourishing soups in the meantime. I've had that work done!

Thank you so much! I'm feeling better...
I'm able to eat soft foods now. I had jello yesterday and I had the pancakes and chilli today, so all is well. I can live like this for a while
I'm cleared to work out now, so I"ll be doing some of that as well. Probably just walking though.
It was really only four days of absolutely non solids.. but somehow it felt like it was forever.. glad it's over I'm pretty sure I can tolerate eggs and fish, so that'll be my dinner for the remainder of the time I have the stitches on (until Feb 2), after that phase 3 whoo hoo!
Anyone still stuck w/o power in the Seattle area ...hope you're back up by tomorrow the latest. We were just lucky we stayed on.
Having a Sunday treat day today and have really been doing well with maintenance while on the road. Got another week to enjoy myself AND maintain my weight while away from home.I've skipped all birthday cakes and sweets just knowing that my Healthsmart double peanut butter protein bar is my reward at the end of the day. Thank goodness!!
Have a great Sunday everyone.
Good for you for staying on plan while travelling!

I had totally forgotten that. I think it's time for me to re-read the book, thanks for reminding me!

I'm sure the weight will come off once you're able to get back to your routine and have access to the right foods. Good luck!
Oh my! So, I just found a recipe to make ice cream with only one ingredient: bananas! Take really ripe bananas, peel them, and freeze them. Take frozen bananas and whip them in your food processor and you get soft serve ice cream texture. You can then freeze this and it will set up like real ice cream (so they say, lol). I'm so doing this when my current bananas get that ripe. You can also add peanut butter and other things as long as you have at least 50% of the mixture as bananas. So, I was thinking 1 banana to 2 tablespoons peanut butter will make 2 servings of ice cream. I can make this fit into my breakfast menu easily. Maybe waffles topped with ice cream or pancakes. And I would still get to eat my greek yogurt.

Paint lady..What a great idea. The ripest bananas are the sweetest. Thanks.
Pauley: I was getting worried about you. My sister needs one of those generators. I am glad you are in San Diego where it is warm and sunny. What an awful storm.
Sandy..Hope you have a good day on your plan. For me eating sweet carbs makes me want more. Have a good day at school today. We are doing report cards.
Brenda: Good for you staying on so well. You are inspiring.
Gika: I am glad you are feeling somewhat better .Eating soft solids is better..plus you can walk. Good.
Pixl.. I really hope your Phase 2 goes well today. It is so frustrating when that scale is up.
I am getting tired of this ice and trying not to fall down when I walk. I drove my car out to get the mail from my box, because of the ice.
Fortunately school is going well. I am back on Phase 3/4.
Hello all,
I wrote a a very long post yesterday only to have it wiped out as I was writing the last sentence due to a failed Internet connection. Happens. Hard to want to write the same thing twice though .
Had our housewarming party this weekend and indulged in a free day as my weight was on point and I wanted to enjoy the offerings. I was pleased hat I stuck with my plan for free day. I ate my veggies, drank my water and curbed myself a bit. Had a great night of socializing and really enjoyed myself.
Jennydoodle- I'm glad that you are feeling better. There isn't many things that are worse han being completely laid out when you're ill.
Gika- same to you. Happy for you that you're now able to eat. Hate that feeling after dentist. That and being so so sore. Good for you for sticking to plan!
Maile- have you considered making your own mayo? http://m.epicurious.com/recipes/food...onnaise-241083
If you want to give it a try. Or I found natural grape seed mayo in the whole section of the grocery.
Paint lady- you'll have to us know how it turns out the banana ice cream it sure does sound good. I like frozen grapes sometimes...
Pauley - glad you're alright! That sounds like quite the storm. How is getting back into routine?
Phase 3 was a little nerve racking this week. I think my biggest fear is gaining the weight back. I have been like a mad woman journaling everything I put in my mouth. I have never been a breakfast person but I am enjoying the biscuits. Weigh in is tomorrow afternoon, so I am extremely nervous.
La Chick, don't worry about what the scale says at this point. You may be up, or down, or the same. You know how to get back to where you need to be. Just continue with phase 3 as detailed. It's very important. Once you get into maintenance, you can play around with your meals a bit. You will learn what makes you gain, what makes you lose. You are allowed 3 phase 1 days in a row without having to go back through all of the phases. If you are still up after a week of maintenance, just do an extra day or 2 of phase 1. IMO, maintenance is the hardest phase to get the hang of. I think it's different for everyone and everyone has to find out what it takes for them to maintain. Some of us don't have fun days. Some of us don't eat carbs for dinner every night. Some of us go strictly by the book and some of us struggle. You will find your way.

Linden: Is your dog any better?
Pup's up and moving around and I am SO glad. I, on the other hand, have a cracked vertebrae (vertebra?) thanks to a stupid twit who was racing down a dark street while it poured rain, yelling to her friend, and not looking forward. And no lights on either bike. By the time I saw/heard them I was hit and flat on my back. Sheeze.
But I have a question about eating sweet carbs. Before I started the IP program I wasn't a sweets eater, totally by preference. In fact, I found the products far too sweet and always diluted them. Over time, though, I've come to want sweet tastes, albeit via stevia. I wondered if anyone else has had this experience?

Linden..I am sorry about your cracked vertebrae..Are you in much pain? I hope you are feeling better. That was a crazy bike accident. Glad the puppy is better.
I always did like sweets..but really have been mostly off sugar for a year. I do seek the stevia and Walden Farm products to eat something sweet. I also lately am drinking flavored coffees and exotic sweet teas! I really think it is the sugary carbs that I need to stay away from.
LA chick..hope your weigh in goes well. Phase 3 is scary at first, but soon you will love your breakfasts!
Capricious: Good for you enjoying your free day and feeling good about it. It is so exciting that you are in a new house. Are you not living with your sister and kids anymore? Thanks for the mayo recipe..I will have a look. That lemonaise looks very interesting and is made with canola oil.

Paint Lady: That was very well said!!!!! Great advice and support for all of us. Thanks for writing.
